Yes, your assumption is right. i would rather use worldcoinindex.com instead of coinmarketcap.com

Why have i never heard of this site before its far better than coinmarketcap and shows some serious over valuations like vanilla coin which i was told is dirt cheap yesterday and how getgems for the potential it has is silly cheap. Thx for the find.

Look how dirt cheap Gemz are in reality if the proper valuation variables are accurate. Some might think its good to be high on coinmarketcap but persinally ive always found reality to be the best option. It also make gemz look overpriced. Gonna use these guys from now on personally.

623  Local / 한국어 (Korean) / Getgems is the perfect way to intro Koreans to Bitcoin. on: July 31, 2015, 04:51:41 AM
There has recently been some concerns about security with Kakaotalk so many Koreans have moved to Telegram. Getgems app seems the perfect way to show koreans bitcoin cause its compatible with Telegram and so they will keep their contact list if they move over.

The app is very easy, cute, fun and visual plus you can buy starbucks vouchers with the free coins. I live in korea so i know this is a great fit especially for young female users. Please try it!

88M is available which is correct to me, maybe half of it is circulating, but the entire supply is available. Although total supply should be 88,135,217 and not 100M http://blockscan.com/address/1GEMZBURNXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXVUKFt4. They will fix it if you send them a message.

But surely it is held kind of like Ripple is held and so is not let out into the market and wont be for 3 years as the airdrop is released.

So Ripple is based on the 30billion! that has been released not the 100billion that is ultimately been made but is held by Ripple.

Ok didn't know that, they need to adjust Ripple or GG then, but in GG case they will be released slowly based on reward models, how is coinmarketcap calculating that? Best would be to contact them.

I put a request in for the total supply to be 88m. Beyond that i dont expect them to update continuously the available supply.

Whats up with everyone chatting about XMR right now. I see more and more people speaking about it.

Why are every one of these threads started by a Newbie sock puppet. What's up with that?

Not really, even Smooth the Monero developer is spamming this section with DASH hate thread!

You mean one thread from several months ago collecting the facts of the Dash instamine?

Yeah that's spamming all right.

you're the only one to comment how obviously lame and fake the OP is. This like a ZOO Keeper throwing a bone to the lions and then all the Monero lions feed on it. Kind of sad....

Umm..I am not a fake sock puppet. I've actually been involved with crypto for a long time, I just decided to make a new account that is in sync with my twitter: https://twitter.com/cryptymike

My apologises but you must know how it looks....especially as this section is 50% fake Monero threads.

Check out getgems app and follow them on your twitter, im sure they would love your opinion.

Like I said I don't expect them to. But for us its important to know the way they are valuing Gems is 50% less than what is reality....at least at the moment. I guess in about 3 years it will be correct though... Cheesy

629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Assuming a regulated world, what would be illegal? on: July 30, 2015, 01:04:17 PM
Maybe some of my point is missed. I'm saying technically the kind of trading going on including insider trading, whales manipulating the market etc which we are used to in Crypto but if we are regulated clearly becomes illegal, right?

Maybe other laws might be moving money over border etc. I know the country I live in only lets nationals move like 10,000 or maybe 50,000 a year out of the country. What i'm saying is what are we doing ilegal NOW which we have to worry about if the all seeing eye of the Gov DID regulate us.

.......I should add, this doesn't mean i'm gonna do it. Cheesy

What do you think? Am I wrong about this? At the very least Coinmarketcap have it wrong that 100,000,000 is total supply and probably should be told.

631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why Coinmarketcap is wrong and why Getgems is half price. on: July 30, 2015, 12:47:27 PM
I'm open to correction but it seems to me that Coinmarketcap is making some errors in calculating marketcap. I think POS coins are being all treated the same ie they are calculating marketcap based on total supply BUT some POS don't have total supply available, I know Getgems is not a POW coin but in some ways it acts a bit like one in that it will be AT LEAST 3 years before all the coins are in circulation. The fact is Getgems only has like 40m available now and not 88m. Which means two things good and bad however you want to look at it. Firstly that Getgems actually only has a marketcap of around 1m half of what it seems to have and so should be around 40th place on coinmarketcap.

The good news is of course that its therefore half price and more undervalued than coinmarketcap makes it look.

Its also mixed up total supply, cause coins were burned 88m IS the total supply. And as I've said available is less than 40m.

http://coinmarketcap.com/assets/gems/

*I don't actually expect Coinmarketcap to chase up Getgems and constantly update based on changing available supply but this means we can't trust Coinmarketcap to tell us the full picture. Though its worth mentioning they managed to get Ripple right and base it on real available supply....
632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best looking / coolest altcoin wallets? on: July 30, 2015, 03:55:05 AM
USA and Israel are butt buddies, you didn't know that? And apparently you didn't catch my drift. It's not about governments it's about the people who are so barbaric they hack up their newborn babies. USA has plenty of them too, the only difference is it's close to 100% in Israel, ie JewelCoin's creators are probably among them.

I don't use Reddit.

There is something exciting about the Gems concept but the fact that they've already shown a willingness to rob the commons (the shared IP of the community) is a terrible sign and enough to make me hope they fail. Once you start distributing the modified code you're obligated to release the source back to the community. Beyond the law, it's a basic sense of decency which you obviously can't comprehend.

* I also don't run a gambling site, ya ignoramus. I do run an informational website because I'm capable of producing one, unlike someone like you who's creative output is probably limited to a BCT sig-link.

Sorry I overestimated you, I thought you ran one of those complex gambling site....your right you just blog gambling sites.

Israel 100% is baby killers. Try to stay sober when posting, ok?

A year ago you would NEVER see the mainstream view against Israel, but a bit of propaganda that made Palestinatians look like peaceful people simply minding their own business being attacked by the evil Israelis then every soft minded dumbass comes out with a regurgitated spew of media BS. The fact is I guarantee if you had the choice of living in any of the surrounding Muslim cultures you would pretty quickly want to be living in Israel. Bottom line the Middle East are barbarians and Israel is a civilised nation and culture......I don't care how UN PC that sounds.

Many people have a problem with darker forces in Israel in the form of political and banking powers but that has nothing to do with the general people anymore than the FED and the Banking Cabal is the same as average Americans.
633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best looking / coolest altcoin wallets? on: July 29, 2015, 11:20:29 PM
I don't think it's necessary for GG open source their own work, atleast not at this stage.

You're clearly the one who doesn't understand how (most) open-source licenses work, in this case the GPL.

BECAUSE THEY COPIED OPEN SOURCE CODE UNDER GPL, THEIR MODIFIED CODE BECOMES OPEN SOURCE CODE UNDER GPL.

Quote
GPL is a viral license. This means that if the original software is licensed under the GPL, any hooks, modifications, modules, etc. too will be licensed under the GPL.

It's getting pretty obvious you boys are coming in here to hype / pump a worthless coin inside a buggy app.

Telegram could easily take legal action against Gems, but it appears that they have somehow (perhaps through a relationship with the CEO) avoided that, so the community is the one who gets screwed by them STEALING from the open source community (commons).

The Gem creators are from Israel so it doesn't surprise me. If you're willing to hack up your own newborn baby, you really don't give a shit about anything.

Probably you are the same guy on Reddit getting all hot and bothered about licensing which no one who actually owns the licence gives a crap about. The law is to protect people and interested parties not to be anal about and for suing at every opportunity possible. Bottom line if a telegram don't care then why do you?

And you also seem to want Getgems to open all the code even though they said they want to make sure it's safe so users are protected....perfectly logical, perfectly reasonable. BUT you want them to risk people's coins and info to satisfy your bizarre sense of justice.

You're one of the weirdest people I ever saw on this forum and thats saying something. And you really undermined any credibility you might of had with the Israel comment. Every country has governments with atrocities on their hands......do you want links to pictures of babies and children droned by the U.S.?

*Why do all the moralising Bit-coiners often run gambling sites! Lol.
634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best looking / coolest altcoin wallets? on: July 29, 2015, 11:10:00 PM
Gems is my favourite but not cause it looks cool, even though it does but because of user friendliness. I really hate the whole NXT NEM type wallets, so complicated for newbies. I like simplicity, the basic Bitcoin wallets are great, I really like multibit. I liked Qora which also looked like an aborted 90's project. User friendliness is everything, how it looks is secondary. though that circuits wallet looks cool....I assume the developer is a Trekie.
635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Assuming a regulated world, what would be illegal? on: July 29, 2015, 11:00:38 PM
I was thinking of what is deemed illegal in the way people trade Bitcoin on exchanges and wondered if much of it is illegal. I wonder what other fun stuff we can kiss goodbye to if Bitcoin was regulated and stayed within the 'Law'

Malasian users are almost maxing out a GG groupchat, max members is 200.

Young Asian females are using the app......how could Getgems possibly fail?  Cheesy

When do yall think GG will hit 10.000 - 50.000 users? Ratings are flying that's for sure.

Well we already have 10,000 downloads. I personally would like to see 50,000 downloads by Christmas but who knows..

I'm a big believer that apps and software are popular if it becomes effortless to join and addictive to use. I think since inviting people became a one button action and now the app is looking fun and addictive receiving daily coins etc then the pace could speed up quite quickly. I feel bad China is blocked though cause I think the app really would do well there.

Design wise I'm amazed at what Gemz is doing, far more than My expectations.
638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I can smell the fear on: July 28, 2015, 05:07:44 PM
Banks are not interested in bitcoin, but they are in the technology behind in. The blockchain technology to be specific. In this way, you can say: 'yes you can seperate bitcoin from the blockchain'.

i'm sure the blockchain technology would help banks and other instances like nasdaq a lot, but this will not affect the bitcoin itself.

Correct me if i'm wrong

If you understand how most banks make their money and how the world is basically hostage to the money printing of the the central banks tend YES I would say they are friken interested in Bitcoin and yes they fear it. But they have got to the point that they can't kill it, so they have to join it by making a bastardised version for the masses. I predicted this months ago.
639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GEMZ]|GetGems - Social Messaging App That Pays | LIVE on Android and iOS | on: July 28, 2015, 03:05:39 PM
You have to be logged in to look at the average age, I think it was as expected around 25-35.
I think we are in classic early building stage, I have zero doubts this app will have at least 500,000-1,000,000 downloads.

I am logged in, but I cannot see anything in those statistics except the total amount of likes and the amount of new likes.

I'm on mobile/tablet I dunno of it makes a difference, click on where it says how may likes...I have liked and follow the page, if that makes any difference.

Interesting change, the most popular city has changed in one day from London UK to Kuala Lumpa! Good we are getting downloads in Asia, Malaysia is a linking country made up of distinct groups of Chinese, Malay and Indians...awesome food I've heard.

I can't send gemz to other wallet on an exchange site. Is there a problem?

I mean them gemz won't send. Just now, I'm trying to send some now but I get an error it says try again later.

How long ago? Exchanges are often slow, I would give any exchange an hour or two before I even started to get concerned.

Ah ok. Try to message Daniel or support...
