Qora need to leverage the technology into a real world use somehow. I believe apart from Bitcoin Altcoins won't survive however great they work unless they connect to a real use. The bottom line is Qora is great, probably better than Bitcoin but if only a thousand people even own it then it's doomed.

Agree. Would be good to get some feedback to why the name change was necessary. If at all possible I hope we go back to Gems or even GEMZ or even Geemz I just hate Getgems. ouch. Gems is an awesome name for sure. Getgems is pretty bland. I am guessing the reason why they had to change the name is that there are already 50 different mobile apps called "Gems" and maybe some of them have lawyers. Maybe if we reach critical mass the Gems team can use some of their stash to buy better Lawyers. |

I know the devs are busy, but for the non-android people a desktop or iOS version would make a lot of Gems investors happy.
I couldn't agree more. I know you're busy and have to set priorities, but It would be great to see plans for a desktop version as well. I hate typing on my phone/tablet. I wouldn't use facebook chat anymore if I could use Gems. Saying that, the android ap is frickin sweet. Great work thus far. It's 2015 Jman not the 90's! Snapchat has a billion downloads with no offical desktop. Yeah, well check this out. 66% of internet users are using a desktop PC compared to mobile at 34%  SUCK ON RAW DATA nextgencoiner! Just so you know Jman I just read on Twitter that GEMS is planning a desktop client too. Which is good news for the Moms who use PCs.  In all seriousness if Gems really does get big it will be so easy to morph into a full social media site taking the Gems token with it. It's a tall order but who knows it could be a FB killer. I mean people will love the idea of decentralisation ie no privacy issues and that they get paid for adverts, advertisers would be happy to use the system as it's actually more positive to get adverts cause you want them than not. |

I'm sorry to admit this, but Qora is going nowhere, it's dead. Nothing separates Qora from a dozen other Alts, but it also doesn't really matter because there are no users. Bitcoin is reeling, all major efforts are going into the preservation of Bitcoin. Most 2nd tier alts won't survive, there will be a couple that make it, my guess is Ripple, Litecoin, Nxt, Ethereum, Bitshares. Qora is a 4th tier alt at best. I hate to be negative because we all have the same end goal, but it's reality.
I said it before as a hint. I don't want to say it too strong but there is a definite possibility we could get included in the Gems messenging app later. If so this coin would increase so much it would make your ears bleed. Hold. |

You have nothing to do on this forum. This is Bitcointalk absolutely any coin worth anything will get FUD. I wouldn't bother fighting it, if it gets annoying then start a moderated thread. In fact I feel even now a GEMS forum would be great. But the point I wanted to make is this coin is actually immune from FUD. There is only one thing that matters with this project moving forward and that is the download counter on Google Play and the App Store. If we get an increasing amount of downloads then Warren Buffet and Satoshi couldn't even FUD this project. That's what I like about this project, it's real ie we don't need to go up and down too much based on emotion and FUD. Let's face it almost every Altcoin has succeed on the perceived future potential. GEMS is different, it either is used and is a success or not and isn't. Like I told you before, we are a registered company in Israel, Coin Systems LTD. ( http://havarot.justice.gov.il/ ; ID: 515042919 ) and we are here to stay and succeed. I watched Qora crumble under a scam exchange. Actually the site looks a bit like this site which makes me double cautious. Ok so it's not fair if these guys are a legitimate exchange but a legitimate exchange has lots of options to convince people it's legit like getting their personal details verified etc. They said they were a registered company in Israel but failed to give any further info when I asked.
I wouldn't touch it until it's proved itself with other coins with big vol. gems is going to get some massive vol I expect so best to be on an established exchange like BTER etc...
No, if you read back you said you were a registered company and when I asked for more proof for that you failed to. I don't know Isreali so can't comment on how legit that info is but it helps. Personally if I was an anonomous exchange with no address or name behind me I would not A. attack anyone for wanting to get some proof of legitimacy and B. Bend over backward to produce info to prove my legitimacy. Otherwise your basically saying send me all your money a complete stranger with no track record. You cannot blame anyone here from being cautious and mistrusting in this area. |

How can we leverage the large number of Telegram user to use GEMS. How have people invited and got people to use GEMS possibly instead or alongside Telegram? Otherwise friends will just think you are using Telegram.
