1141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Android Pay. on: March 03, 2015, 03:12:54 PM
It's the future. It will be normal to "Pay" for things - whether it be ApplePay, SamsungPay or AndroidPay (very original naming). The rollout will take some time though, I don't all brick-and-morter stores will be too inclined to incorporate this too quickly.

haha.yeah.. But Its still no match to BTC.. U have to put cash into your Android wallet separately.. n use it to limited stuff..but by the time that develops we will have a much stronger BTC.

I hope you are right here.
But, I'm not sure because many people worldwide using smart phones like Apple, Samsung...
so, if they start new service, many of their users will accept it.
They are already mainstream.
We don't have much bitcoin users so it doesn't matter really if is more simple to transfer money with BTC or smart phones.
More important is number of people accepting bitcoin right now.
If your friends have smart phone but never used bitcoin, you will have no choice but to send them money through smart phone pay service, right?

Sure I get that this doesn't mean more users BUT as a currency it makes it much more viable putting it on a level with other fiats through Android Pay. So with us a Bitcoin believers it's now taken technically by anyone who takes Android pay. I guess it's like how someone  in the world can use their fiat from just for example sake Korean Won but can use Paypal online internationally buying products in dollars, pounds, euros whatever. It is a step forward in Bitcoin as a currency in terms of utility.

So when non users say what can you actually buy with this Bitcoin stuff, you can say anything that can be paid through Android pay which I suspect will be knowing Google, almost anything as time goes on.
1142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Android Pay. on: March 03, 2015, 11:55:46 AM
So bitcoin is integrated in google pay? For purchasing apps and games? I'm very glad if we can use bitcoin for android payment, since i didn't have credit card. Hope they will implement bitcoin for Android payment

I think your mixing Android pay with Google play store. I don't know exactly how many retailers take Android pay but I guess it's like hooking up with a major player now and in the future. What's great is we don't need the Internet for processing, I guess you can store right on your phone wallet and pay instantly wherever android pay is taken. It's defer rely the future that the big companies including Apple are trying to get a piece of.
1143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Android Pay. on: March 03, 2015, 10:19:05 AM
Seems it has been developed to help support  google pay and will allow people to pay with it. How is it going to help bitcoin at all ?

Well that's why I'm asking the question. But from the reddit posters people seem to think Bitcoin can be built into it so therefore I guess Bitcoin can be spent wherever Android pay is used. I guess it makes Bitcoin instantly attractive as a real world payment option.

Is this really something Bitcoin can use?
1145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GEMZ]| SOCIAL MESSAGING APP THAT PAYS | Android App Released | on: March 02, 2015, 05:59:50 AM
Having a fee needing to come out of BTC kind of defeats the whole point of the app. The idea being that this is seamless user friendly way to start using a cryptocurrency. Problem is users are going to have fund their wallet with Bitcoin to send any Gems. It looks to me like a tragic flaw until someone tells me otherwise.

It's going to be off chain soon making it zero fees, would like to know when they are going to make it off chain tho, can we get an update on that Daniel?

Next developer update will have all the info.

@Peled1986 : Why did you not add EUR, CNY, GBP and CAD If you have the BticoinAverage API working anyway, seems like very little effort to add a few lines of code? Why am I no longer able to send messages to; for example you peled1985 (this goes for all getgems users that pop up in my search and are not in my contact list already), the app either jumps back to the chat list or gives me an undefined error "An error occured"?

I agree, we will add EUR, GBP, CAD, RUB and CNY.

Whats ur username daruhshie ill add u, although i can send daniel a message no problem. What vesion do u got, in settings it shows i have version v2.1.12 (415)

We pushed a few small fixes, most updated version is 2.1.14(417)

Got the feeling the next update is gonna be awesome.

Liking the refinements of the app, particularly the dollar/Bitcoin calculation. But how long will we need to pay for sending coins in BTC? I think for new users who will only collect gems they will find it a reason to abandon the app. can't the fee be paid in GEMS?
I presume since it's a counterparty asset and counterparty relies on the bitcoin blockchain for transaction verification the fees will always need to be paid in BTC. You could cloak it with an in app GEMZ/BTC exchange I guess.

- Where do I find the BTC/USD calculation and the other refinements, I upgraded to v2.1.11 (414) and the only difference I see is that I'm not able to send messages to anyone except my telegram friends. Trying to send messages to other GetGems users results in an error.. Do I need to file another bug report or am I just looking in the wrong place?

Assuming you have the updated version that is now on Google play. Type dollar or usd after an amount of course. Eg 1 dollar. Or 1 usd.

sorry if it was already answered, but if I may ask:
Will there be minign goin on? and if yes could you please update main post iwth it? Algorythm, how many coins, time, block rewards etc..
You can read the answer here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=758004.msg8553481#msg8553481
If you are not familiar with counterparty feel free to ask more question or read more about it here: http://counterparty.co/

That was not an answer. Couldn't you just answer directly, as in.. There will be no mining. No POW.

And couldn't you just read the FRIKEN OP that has all the info and clearly states it's a Counterparty POS coin. Jeez. This is a real project not some script clone shitcoin to pump and dump.

You and I may understand that from the OP, but not everyone understands that, so a direct answer would have been better.

He gave you a direct link to the answer which clearly states is a POS coin but also its more than a simple POS coin cause of how it will be distributed and earned so a simple answer isn't really enough. I think you're looking for a problem that isn't there. It is ME that is saying you should read the OP before you ask questions.

Dont you still need to have those coins in your wallet to get the major benefit? You sold on seed investment? You dont see that as a positive?

The seed investment in the company is also relevant to gemz tokens. Also from the q&a selling your original GEMZ will not change your original crowdsale buyer status. The original crowdsale buyers perk system will be calculated based on the original participation at the time of the pre-sale end which were recorded on blockscan. Original crowdsale buyers  will be rewarded relatively to their original number of coins that they’ve purchases during the pre-sale. The GEMZ reward will be sent to the original Koinify addresses.

WOH I just noticed something you said. Is it true that the GEMZ reward goes to the original Koinify address?

I mean I've all but abandoned my Koinify address!

According to the q&a it goes to koinify address, if you can just login i don't see an issue?

It is if you forgot your login.....which I have.

True but I thought buying in the presale gives you a perk particularly that unregistered accounts are added to 'presalers' which is a massive perk BUT it is only a factor and another major factor I thought was calculated ALSO on how many coins you held. I'm just saying to get any real benefit the user also needs to be holding coins and say if he only had for example 10 coins it wouldnt matter how great his score influenced by the perk as he isn't going to get 1000's of coins.

Sell, sell, sell, so why they bought?

You can't expect everyone in the world to be smart.

I bought during the presale mainly so that I would be eligible for free airdrops.

I sold on the knowledge that Magma VC invested $400k in the company and not the coin.

However, I still have the highest hopes for Daniel's dream.

Since when selling for profit considered dumb ?

Go ask the guys who sold Bitcoin at $1 for 'profit' if they think it was smart.

Anyway I was only kidding with my comment. BUT its silly to sell now and grab coins when if you wait till the IOS and airdrop is done we are almost definetly gonna get a spike up. Then it will be too late to buy in any large amounts at these prices. The time to buy is right now but I bet most will buy when the price is double or more than what it is now. I'll never understand the psychology of traders.

1157  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin approaching its historic highs! on: February 25, 2015, 09:35:14 PM
Thats just like Bitcoin is USD, and all the altcoins are currencies of other countries. Now if an altcoin crashes, it doesn't affect the countries currencies. But if value of bitcoin will always be in dollars and then to the currency. So in a way if dollar crashes, then you will see a crash there too.

Not clear what your saying. The dollar is like any other currency, if it crashes then the price of Bitcoin measured in Dollars will shoot up. Yes many of us measure the value of Bitcoin against the dollar but it doesn't mean Bitcoin will move with the dollar. The ideal way to measure Bitcoin long term, as in over decades and years is probably against Gold and Silver actually.
1158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Redemption ends[Updates&Discussion] on: February 25, 2015, 09:01:18 PM
Redemption over? I lost my friken passwords, its been such a long time? I still got a token in my messages?
I didn't do phase 1 either. From what I understand, we'll be able to redeem after launch?
youl have two months after launch to claim

But If I redeemed got my name on the official list etc then when the coins are distributed then they will go to the account we set up right? And therefore lost.

Can there be a way for people to bypass the wallet they already set up. I bet a few more people have done this cause of the long wait. will there be a second chance to confirm before coins are released to wallets?

Really itching for the iOS and airdrop to start. Any time frame?

When it does I'm going to subtlety of course  Cheesy join some of the top forums and casually mention GEMZ. I will not rest until we have at least 50,000 users.

That is IF you are unfortunate enough to be Ukrainian.

Let this be a lesson to all those people who think Bitcoin won't protect you in a currency collapse. Bulshit, it will.
