641  Economy / Speculation / BTC Sentiment Poll for November on: November 02, 2023, 01:16:51 PM
We had one of the best performing month of the year for BTC, if not the best performing month.  Smiley  So I'm guessing everybody's sentiment might be a tad more bullish?  Wink

For this month's poll, let's try something different.  It won't be a question about the price but a question about what you guys think about BTC's price action now and what it means going forward.

642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: AI Coins Speculation on: November 02, 2023, 12:48:39 PM
Yo...  Any of you guys been following the progress of FET, OCEAN and AGIX in the market?  Have a small bag of FET left after selling some during the market lull but dropped 100% of both OCEAN and AGIX which was dumb of me.  :/

All three broke out and are starting a nice trend up faster than the rest of the market.  Looks like the market is telling is that it's in the mood for AI projects to start the bull market...  Wink

I think AI tokens and memecoins are gonna make the highest and most solid pumps.
643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: November 02, 2023, 12:37:22 PM
I really think that many now prefer a much more technical fighter than fighters that don't have technicality with their technique and Jailton Almeda has already shown that and with his additional Wrestling and grappling in his arsenal, for me, he is the most suitable to win here in my opinion, and Derrick Lewis is a short notice fighter here but yeah you are right that Derrick Lewis can finish this in an instant, but Almeda is fast so with those front kicks, I think he needs to change that Rhythm with his takedowns,

OK, I've done some homework and watched some highlights of Almeida's fights. He looks really fast and dynamic for a heavyweight. It's going to be a tough one for Lewis. Derrick's biggest chance is to look for a brawl early on, but if he does that, he would open himself to a takedown, and the ground is not a place to be when fighting Almeida.
Maybe going all-in with a flying knee for the 2nd time in a row is not a bad idea  Grin

Edit: I just noticed the news about Lewis getting arrested. Apparently, he got out already. He even made a public statement lol:

Quote
While Lewis has attorneys on the case, it turns out he might be going with the tried and true Shaggy defense when it comes time to face the charges.

“Nah, I don’t even think that was me,” Lewis responded when asked about the arrest during UFC Sao Paulo media day (courtesy of Canal Encarada). “That guy had hair. You seen the picture? I don’t got no hair. That ain’t me.”
https://www.mmafighting.com/2023/11/1/23942157/derrick-lewis-offers-hilarious-response-when-addressing-recent-arrest-on-reckless-driving-charges

^ Lmaooo.  Looks like the arrest is not gonna affect nothing in his match vs Almeida in Brazil.  Cheesy  And as said, as long as it's just for speeding and he wasn't DUI then he's good.  He'll prolly still need to face a judge tho.  He could do some community service as punishment.  Lolol.

Anyway, here's jeremypwr's Multi Master...

UFC Fight Night 231 - Multi Master Challenge
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5472203.0

Take note that only guys who joined his pools are allowed to play.  Unlucky for me, I didn't join any pools this year.  Cheesy  But yeah...  Still posting it here as some sort of tradition for the thread.  Good luck!
644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: November 01, 2023, 12:48:00 PM

who'll fight Almeida now that Derrick was arrested?  he was arrested for wreckless driving
https://abc13.com/amp/ufc-fighter-arrested-derrick-lewis-wreckless-driving-speeding/13994966/

the main event fighters are always messing up the fights. Tuivasa could be a good alternative for Derrick.  its just a question of whether he will fight for few days notice.

for what purpose is it if these fight cancellations are deliberately done?

Lewis wasn't drunk driving and he didn't hit anybody.  He was just speeding.  He came out of the police station and prolly paid whatever he needed to pay to get out of there asap.  He's still fighting this weekend as far as I know...

It's not like he did something like Jones and ran over somebody and drinking while driving.  And maybe the MMA journos are trying to make it bigger than it seems.  But we'll hear his side of the story this weekend.

Yooo been a while since I made a post itt.  Grin

Just dropping by to shill..  I mean say that there's this new memecoin called Micro Strategy, ticker is MSTR.  Lol.  Just imagine the memes.  Cheesy Cheesy  Anyway, it's interesting because they've been accumulating other memecoins and somewhat trying to make their own ETF.  Lmao.

Memecoins in MSTR's wallet are ticker $BITCOIN, SPX, PEPE and a few others that have somewhat strong communities behind them.  I guess we'll have to see...  But I think the idea behind MSTR is brilliant.

Here are the wallets that hold their stash of memecoins.

^  Ah yeah nice!  Got 5 correct picks out of 7!  Gonna use the 25 bucks for my weekly long shot, full event lottery ticket for the UFC.  Grin

Thanks FJ!  Can't wait to play the next one.  And I didn't know there was a 100/100 full season guessing game that spans the whole season for 1000 bucks until Trofo mentioned it.  I'll be gunning for that too.  I think there's still enough match days to make it even if somebody starts from zero points.
Unfortunately you will not. This season those free bets can only be used on single games, no multi game tickets. Had to speak with live support before figuring that out.

So best tactics, pick 2.0 odds to make free bet into real cash and then go crazy with multi of your choice  Grin

Oh ok.  I guess I'll pick a decent match up at the UFC this weekend and use the winnings to make a full event lottery ticket if thr bet wins.  Lol.  Maybe they should make an exception for me.  I use all my free bets in these long shot -EV parlays that has totally no chance of winning.  Cheesy Cheesy

Anyway, winning my first free bet of the season has made me excited for the next one.  Lezzz gooooo!
648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 31, 2023, 01:35:25 PM

^  Yup totally agree .  Lol...  Those Russian bros from the mountains of Dagestan are a different breed.  And tbh I'd like to see more of them come in and up the level in the UFC.  Even the striking of the Dagestani guys who are strikers look way faster and hit way harder than the strikes if the UFC elite.  Watch tapes of Umar and Usman Nurmagomedov.

For sure maybe their DNA was special and their striking-like Sharaputdin Magomedov was very fast his kicks were really lighting but for sure he doesn't have wrestling and his takedown defense was not that great but I guess in that fight he learned something from it and will return much stronger, and could surely adjust for his next fight

-snip-

Jailton Almeida is mostly a grappler.  But as we have seen in a couple of Lewis' fights in the UFC, sometimes MMA grappling and wrestling doesn't work on him.  And really all he needs is one clean shot to starch any opponent.

It could have happened if Jailton Almeda did not have the power to overcome Lewis, for sure those grappling and wrestling would not have worked against him, but if Jailton Almeda could prove that he has strength and can lift up Derrick Lewis then for me  will go with the fighter that has most aces in his sleeve to take care of his opponent,

I think it's a combination of genetics and their environment.  Living in the mountains of Dagestan has made sure that only the best and strongest genes survived.  Like I said, watch Umar and Usman Nurmagomedov's kicks.  It's just different because they're made different.  So yeah...  Be on the look out for those Dagestani bros moving up the rankings.

As for Lewis, Almeida should be fast in getting Lewis' back like he did vs Rozenstruik.  Every second Almeida stands toe to toe vs Lewis are more chances Lewis starches Almeida.

^  After leaving Red Bull all those years ago, I think Ricciardo would def know his place in the team if he comes back.  Just the second driver to support Verstappen and try to win the constructor championship as soon as possible in a season.

Anyway, Perez..  Lmaooo.  I think he over compensated and tried to get a couple of spots up the grid and be in the running for a podium.  It's his home race after all.  :/  Some Mexican fans were furious, they even tried to bear up other Mexicans who were wearing Ferrari shirts.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Some decent match ups in this event imho...  Vitor Petrino vs Modestas Bukauskas, Elves Brener vs Esteban Ribovics, Caio Borralho vs Abus Magomedov and both Bonfim brothers' match ups.

Edit:  Rodolfo Vieira vs Armen Petrosyan could be good too.  This event is above average now that I'm looking at the matchups more closely.

For me, the Main Event is great Jailton Almeida vs Derrick Lewis for Jailton Almeida can not underestimate Derrick Lewis because of his power but for sure Jailton Almeida's front kick will have to do it, and his wrestling is great aswell, so this is a different opponent for Derrick Lewis so yeah Strikers weakness is Wrestling, another fight that I  like is Caio Borralho vs Abus Magomedov and for this fight, Caio Borralho could be technical in this fight but Abus Magomedov would be aggressive for sure,

^  It's that but not really.  If a book doesn't have that huge of a bankroll and they see a sharp who bets somewhat larger than the action their bankroll can take then the book has no choice but to limit the player or they break their bankroll.

Pinnacle and Bookmaker are among the biggest in book making and could take a lot of action so they rarely limit players.  On the other hand, Matchbook and Betfair act more like exchanges.

What an unexpected pole position we got.
Ferrari both in top 2 and Max 3rd.

It is not over yet since 10 drivers are under investigation.

Didn't watch quali...  How did that happen?  Lol.  And Ricciardo a spot above Perez?  Lmaooo.  I think it's a sign.  Ricciardo to move up to RBR, while Perez is thrown out.

And didn't see any sort of news about an investigation.  So the quali results is the starting grid?

Anyway, just for completeness' sake.  Here are the results.

2023 Mexican GP Qualifying Results

Ferrari seems to have big problems this weekend.

Both drivers are in a bad physical state, they should be able to race but Sainz is at risk of skipping the GP.

Ah cool.  It could give Perez a higher chance of getting the fastest lap in the race as it's going to be more likely that the Ferraris are gonna be behind him rather than in front of him which is also going to make him struggle.
657  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: October 28, 2023, 03:10:32 PM
^  It's totally not pointless imho as it's just for free...  Whatever happens it will always be +EV to play it.

As for the pvp game, I guess sure it could also be played with a bet.  But was thinking more of it being like a promotional game like the Majestic 7 but just a different format.  It would be perfect for PPV events.

But then again I don't think books want more people to bet on the UFC as the results are more unpredictable compared to the more efficient betting markets like football.
658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 28, 2023, 02:55:20 PM

Yup and he's gonna face either of those guys at some point in the future anyway...  It's just when he's back he'll skip Stipe Miocic.  But the thing is at Jones' age, recovery and rehab after the surgery could take longer than anticipated.  And even if he does return at the anticipated time, his knee could continue to bother him.  He'll prolly have one or two more fights in him then call it quits.

I have my doubts if Jones will be eager to fight either Pavlovich or Aspinall. He was going after Stipe only because Stipe was considered to be the best heavyweight in terms of the most wins in title bouts. In the past he also mentioned that he was only after big money fights, and I'm not sure if a fight against Pavlo/Aspinall would sell that great.
I wouldn't be very surprised if Jones announced his retirement anytime soon. I hope that won't happen though.

Honestly still not that excited for Miocic.  Not sure why...  I mean he was a good heavyweight but never really considered him to be 'the best' even tho the record says he's the best.  Dunno...  I guess if we already had guys like Aspinall and Pav fighting back in the day, I think Miocic would just be a fringe top 5'er at best.

Edit:  Looking at the next event's match ups, there are some decent ones in there.
