641  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is forum reputation enough to influence mixers? on: December 03, 2023, 10:44:25 PM
do you think that the reputation of the forum and the rejection of these mixers from the forum will be enough to force them to change the way they mix their coins?
How can they change the way they mix their coins, their "job" is to obfuscate the source of your coins and they are definitely not going to request for KYC before mixing, because that defeats the purpose of a mixer and thus nobody is going to use that service. Mind you that mixers aren't doing anything inherently wrong, i am surprised that majority of users here aren't seeing the crackdown on mixers as an attack on Bitcoin, but instead that mixers are the problem. Undecided
642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 03, 2023, 10:34:38 PM
How could the referee make such an instant decision? It is meaningless. Haland had already stood up and had already removed the pass from his foot.
That was really poor officiating from Simon Hooper, i can't say what he was thinking there, he let play go on for an advantage and the moment Haaland releases Grealish through on goal, he pulls it back, i have never seen such a decision before, that is why i think sometimes referees need to come up with explanations on some important decisions after the game.

That being said, City didn't draw because of that single action, they drew because they were not ruthless enough in attack and they made quite a lot of mistakes in defense. Pep has quite a lot of work to do if his team are going to be as successful as they were last season, they have to start taking their chances and defending a whole lot better.
643  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the difference between a BTC Mixer and No KYC casino on: December 03, 2023, 10:04:07 PM
...and the casino will not allow you to mix your coins. They will definitely freeze your account when they detect something like this.
They don't have to "allow" you, you could basically deposit coins into a casino address, wager on a few games and withdraw whatever is left into a different address of yours, that will obfuscate your transaction. But the thing is, you could prolly still get your coins back because a casino never portrays themself as being a privacy tool, so they cannot make sure that doesn't happen.
However, people will find something when mixers are totally banned from the Internet.
I don't think mixers can be completely banned, but then again there is coinjoin which is a better privacy tool than mixers.
644  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How mixers work? ELI5 and other questions on: December 03, 2023, 03:37:23 PM
OP, hope you are aware that most mixers tend ro involve in some fradulent acts which was stated by the government. At first it was difficult to believe this but articles and blogs proving that point is all over the net. Soon people will avoid mixing their Bitcoin.
Do you believe the government and what their state-controlled media writes and publishes, you think that mixers and Bitcoin are so widely used for money laundering to warrant this sort of crackdown, there are much more "comfortable" tools people use to launder money, but the government chooses to fully focus on mixers as an indirect attact on Bitcoin. That being said, i don't think people who want privacy would avoid mixing their coins because of this, though it is better if they use non-custodial options like coinjoin.
645  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: X.com (Twitter) is approving phishing website ads, beware on: December 03, 2023, 02:34:28 PM
Phishing websites and links can be found in so many platforms other than X (Twitter), phishing applications are also everywhere in Playstore and even in Apple App store, and you'd be surprised at the number of victims that these scammers manage to defraud.

Some people are just ignorant or gullible and most times they are just greedy, they want to earn unrealistic rewards and they don't want to do their own research on the right place to download certain applications,. Even if X tightens their security on scam website ads, there are so many other options for scammers to use, thus it is on the individual to get more knowledge in order to avoid them.
646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 02, 2023, 11:02:40 PM
Another loss for Manchester United, this is their sixth loss of the season in the EPL in just 14 games, the pressure is mounting on Erik Ten Hag, they are almost certainly out of the CL and their poor form in the EPL continues, Manchester United fans cannot get any respite right now as things go from bad to worse for their club. I am pretty sure the hierarchy would make that tough decision sooner or later, Erik has got to go, and they know it, but they are trying to buy him sometime, the club is tired of the instability with managers, too many have come and gone in recent years, but i am sure they have to do what they have to do.
647  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the alternatives of mixers with the legalities? on: December 02, 2023, 10:23:40 PM
Hmm, there's a point Mixers are not going anywhere but, yeah Forum is entirely eliminating mixers from the promotion, still, crypto mixing is not illegal but many people use it for some kind of evil.
Yes, but the forum isn't banning mixers because criminals use it, i'm sure Theymos knows better, criminals use the internet and fiat, criminals use quite a lot of things that "normal" people use, but it is the purpose that is the difference and that is the same case with Bitcoin mixers. The thing is, there is an attack against Bitcoin through Bitcoin mixers and the administrator doesn't want the forum to be caught in the crossfire.
TBH, the Forum was proving some kind of authenticity about the mixer where the users who are not familiar with trusted services, here that user was able to identify the trusted services, based on the user's reviews, and discussions. Now this will be no longer available.
I 100% agree, i think scam mixers are going to have field days after the 31st of Dec, since directing people to mixers is banned, you can only expect users to do their own research about mixers to use, quite a lot of people would be scammed as a result of this.
648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 01, 2023, 08:38:48 PM
Pep Guardiola and his fired squad will thrash Angelos Postecoglou and his men with ease efforts because we're yet to watch these returning injured players falling back to the team.
I know that Spurs are missing quite a lot of players due to injuries and suspensions and it makes life more difficult for them especially coming up against the treble winners, but it could be extra motivation for the players that Ange Postecoglou fields on Sunday. City are at home and the Etihad is a fortress, thus i think City are going to win the game, but not by a humilating scoreline, it would be a tight game, i don't see City winning 4-0 or 5-0, it would be way closer than that.
649  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the alternatives of mixers with the legalities? on: December 01, 2023, 08:25:46 PM
I don't think many of you understand what is going on, the forum is banning mixers in its entirety, but it does not mean that mixers cease to exist, you just cannot send people links to mixers or tell them mixers to use in this forum, you have to look for mixers you want to use elsewhere other the forum. The OP sounds like mixers no longer exist and we now need another alternative. BTW mixers are not illegal:
Quote
A cryptocurrency mixing service is not necessarily illegal.
650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: December 01, 2023, 05:00:47 PM
We keep our fingers crossed as we await the resumption of the next round of the competition after the final matches of the group stage.
Yeah, four more teams are going to qualify in the final round of games and it is going to be interesting to find out which teams it's going to be, Group A and Group F is where the most drama is. Copenhagen, Galatasaray and United all have a chance to qualify, though it is no longer in United's hands, they have to win their own game against Bayern Munich and hope for a draw in the other game, it'd be a miracle for things to pan out in that way.

Group F is tough as well, Newcastle, PSG and AC Milan all have a chance to qualify too, but it is no longer in Newcastle's hands, they have to beat AC Milan in their own game and hope that Dortmund do them a favor by holding down PSG to at least a draw. The final game would be so important for these teams and interesting from a neutral point of view.
651  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers Signatures : A challenge or Respect on: December 01, 2023, 03:50:40 PM
Why this new topic? Theymos already made everything crystal clear in his post on the mixer ban on the forum, anything campaign managers and their participants decide to do before the 31st of this month is their choice/decision, why are you concerned about it?
652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 01, 2023, 03:28:28 PM
At this point sacking Ten Hag would be a very good decision from Manchester United. Ten Hag is not going to improve this team in anyway. He seems clueless and the players don't look like people that want to work for him.
The hierarchy at Manchester United are hesitant to make any managerial changes, and i think it boils down to the fact that they have hired and fired quite a lot of managers in recent years, and they prolly are tired of the trend, they would have hoped things turned out differently with Erik Ten Hag, but it is what it is and they might have to fire him sooner rather than later.

Having said that, who is going to be the replacement, and how sure are we that he is going to be successful, it is hard to place what exactly is the problem with the club, if it is the manager, the players or the hierarchy, i reckon it is all three of them, but in a football club, it is always the manager that gets the sack letter anyway.
653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 30, 2023, 10:57:13 PM
After they took Cristiano Ronaldo out of the team, they had very good results in the league for a while. But then things started to go wrong. Erik ten Hag is definitely not the right man for Manchester United, but Cristiano Ronaldo is not the right man for Manchester United anymore.
Erik Ten Hag would be fired sooner rather than later, he has failed to get the kind of success that a club like Manchester United deserves, if Erik is fired, it would leave him with egg on his face, he has treated some players in a bad way and pushed them out of the club, those decisions didn't make United a better team, but prolly even worse.

Ronaldo was getting the goals for United before Erik was hired, he wasn't so young, but he was the clubs best goalscorer, the way Erik treated him and pushed him out of the club was really classless, and if he gets fired in the next couple of months, it would be proof that he is an average manager.
654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 30, 2023, 09:59:49 PM
Tottenham continue to fail, even though at the start of the season they seemed unstoppable even without Kane. However, as we got here, there were several problems which caused Tottenham's performance to decline too drastically. Some of their players are also in poor condition so they have not been able to strengthen the team.
The bubble has burst for Spurs, and it happened quite early, i think what we have now is the old erratic Spurs, to be fair anyway they are missing very important players to injuries and suspension and when they are back to their full strength their performances would definitely improve. Spurs' next game doesn't do them any favors, they face City away and it is going to be a really tough one, they could easily lose that game and it would be four losses in a row, it'll definitely bring their fans back to earth after their flying start.
655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: November 30, 2023, 07:36:55 PM
As a Galatasaray fan, I thank Onana, but I wish you, Manchester United fans, patience for Onana. He has one of the worst goalkeeper performances I have ever seen. I don't understand why your coach insists on playing him. If Manchester United lose or draw against Bayern Munich in the last match, Manchester United fourth in the group.
This is a tough period for Manchester United, qualification from the group stage is now almost impossible, i know Erik Ten Hag continues to downplay the fact that he and his players are under immense pressure, but no matter how they try to hide it, it is so obvious that elimination at this stage of the competition will put the manager's job at risk.

Onana has been so disappointing this season and quite a lot of United fans will be putting their failures on him, and i have to agree that he has to take the largest chunk of the blame, he has let in really easy goals, he makes mistakes that a professional goalkeeper should not make, and i'd not be surprised if United move for another goalkeeper in January.
656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 30, 2023, 07:05:42 PM
In terms of the Epl title race I think Liverpool might be the favourite for the trophy, they usually try to beat all odds to get a win or a draw which shows their determination is beyond every other team.
That is quite a bold prediction to make, but yes Liverpool have started the season strongly, even though i actually think too many people didn't give them a chance because of how bad they were last season, but they are back in the picture this time around and are definite title contenders. Anyway i'd not go as far as calling them the favorites for the title, i think City are clearly the favorites again, despite the fact that they have won the last three in a row, they can still add another one to it and make it four in a row, effectively turning the EPL into a farmer's league.
657  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Coping with debt and the loan apps saga: on: November 30, 2023, 03:13:51 PM
Loan apps are sucking demons... their greed is not of this world. How can you charge somebody 25% to 30% in one month? That is ritual money from a very strong juju. I no blame them sha, na our government and the economy I blame.
I no sabi much about loan apps, but if this na the range of interest wey dem dey charge, then it is quite high, but the thing is, dem no force anybody to take loans from them. They are ready to release their funds, they fix the interest rate and people decide for themselves if na something wey dem go fit pay back.

I notice say too many Nigerians dey default on their loans from these loan apps, na as you post their interest rate now, na wetin make me understand why people dey refuse to pay back, but nonetheless, there is no justification for a loan defaulter, read the terms and service before taking the loan and if you'll not be able to pay, then don't take it.

Copenhagen's chances of progressing to the next round of the competition have been boosted; all they need now is a win in their final group stage match against Galatasaray.
Group A is so unpredictable, of course Bayern Munich have already qualified, but the other three teams have almost equal chances of progressing to the RO16 as well, the final group game would feel like a final for all of them, Manchester United face Bayern Munich, and because of the opposition, i am pretty sure quite a lot of their fans have given up hopes of making it out of the group.

I think the game to watch is Copenhagen v Galatasaray, when the draw was made nobody would have believed that Copenhagen would have a chance of qualifying heading into the final group game, but right now my money is on them to make it out of the group stage, and Galatasaray would prolly drop down to the Europa league, whilst United would be eliminated, finger's crossed to see if things pan out in that way.
659  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Mempool is congested, use ViaBTC free accelerator. on: November 29, 2023, 10:56:30 PM
Anyway, let's hope the congestion will be cleared and your TX will be processed.
That transaction was made with just 7 sat/Vbyte and the fee rate in the mempool right now is above 50 sat/Vbyte, goodluck to @Biancamason940 in waiting for the congestion to clear, because i am pretty certain that it'd take a long time for it to drop to the level of 7 sat/Vbyte.
Cash app rejected my Bitcoin deposit for no reason and then when I reversed it into my coinbase it got stuck on the blockchain. CashApp sent it with a very very low fee which I had no say so over and they won't do anything to help me.Sad
Coinbase is an exchange, if your coins were sent to your non-custodial wallet, you'd have done CPFP, but you cannot do that in this situation, you only option is to contact the sender and ask them to use RBF to push the stuck transaction.
660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 29, 2023, 09:30:54 PM
Newcastle as a rich club did not buy many great players earlier this season. Their current performance tends to decline. In the EPL and UCL they did not perform optimally.  They should have maximized the mid-season market. They can prepare from now on by observing the players. One of Newcastle's current problems is strikers.
Newcastle are not playing so badly this season, they have performed well thus far in the CL, even though they are in such a tough group; and they still have a chance to qualify, heading into the final game of the group stage. Having said that, i agree that Newcastle are yet to spend a lot of money now that they have rich owners, and i am pretty sure they will do so, but with caution, they must be looking at clubs like City and Chelsea that are facing so many charges on breaches of financial rules, Newcastle would not want to find themselves in a similar situation, so they must be very careful in their spendings.
