661  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Phishing scam on (exchanges) altcoins addresses on: December 06, 2023, 01:50:00 PM
I understand you quit well. But one more thing I would like to ask is that can bitcoin be hacked from someone exchange wallet?
@Charles-Tim don already reply you, but i go like add say make you no dey keep Bitcoins for your exchange wallet, even if you no fall victim to hacks, something fit happen to the exchange and e go fit collapse, thus anybody wey been get money for their platform go lose am; your money suppose dey your non-custodial wallet.
It is also good to check and recheck the address we are sending coins to, making sure it is correct. Not that an address should be similar, but the same to the address we are seeing coins to.
You dey do well, it is good that you are sharing this stuffs here, e go help plenty people wey no too sabi this method wey scammers they use. Clipboard hijacking malware dey very dangerous and scammers fit use am take change wallet address wey person copy, so e dey very good to triple-check address wey you wan send funds to.
662  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Phishing scam on (exchanges) altcoins addresses on: December 05, 2023, 10:50:56 PM
E don tey wey scammers dey do this thing, e make sense as you post am here, e go help those who no too know about this method of scam, make dem sabi am, so them no go fall as one of the victims.

E dey very bad to save your wallet address somewhere or to dey copy am from transaction history; if na non-custodial wallet, open your wallet and get your address or generate new one, because to dey reuse address no too make sense, if na exchange account, log in go copy the address, sometimes sev exchanges go change deposit address for their customers and if you no log in to copy your address, you go fit send coins to the old address, and na only their support go fit help you if something like that happens

Arsenal has all it takes to start beating Luton Town from the first half because of Luton Town's poor performance this season. Arsenal should be careful playing against Luton Town before they share the same faith with Liverpool at Luton Town's home.
Arsenal are definitely favorites in this game, Luton Town can only hope that they get at least a point from this game, though it isn't going to be easy. Arteta would want to extend Arsenal's lead at the top of the table, at least until the other teams around them play tomorrow. Luton's gameplan in this match is going to be simple, park the bus, defend and hope to get something via a counter-attack, they'll have no business whatsoever with the possession in this game, Arsenal will comfortably dominate in that aspect, and Luton will have to stop them from scoring.

Exchanges aren't the target on these for now because they already have a system that looks after money laundering through KYC and AML.
KYC doesn't help an exchange detect funds from money laundering per se, KYC in centralized exchanges is in compliance with the laws of the country they operate in, and they collect KYC so they can hand over a customer's personal data to law enforcement agencies if they ever need it in their investigation of an address belonging to one of the exchange's customer. KYC also prevents criminals from using exchanges to launder money because they know the funds will be seized and their real identities will be linked with the coins.

I agree with you, if Manchester united eventually win Bayern probably because bayern use theirs rotational payers knowing how risk free this match is to them and it turns in favour of Manchester united, they will still hope Copenhagen draw against Galatasaray.
Qualification is no longer in the hands of Manchester United, the best they can do is to get their own job done by beating Bayern Munich and hope for a miracle in the other game. Beating Bayern isn't going to be an easy task, i know Bayern have already qualified and they might not play their first team, but any team bayern plays is going to be a strong one, United themselves are in a bad position, they are lacking in confidence, so they might fail to win even if Bayern plays a weaker team.
666  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is forum reputation enough to influence mixers? on: December 04, 2023, 01:29:57 PM
let them involve for KYC verification, many coins we mix that worth million dollars all are stealing funds and that's while they only look for privacy.
So you believe that only people who steal funds seek privacy, that is a ridiculous thing to say. You fail to understand something here, how can you use a platform to seek privacy, but lose the same privacy from the beginning when you pass KYC.
the privacy we are talking about, as cryptocurrency chief, from your understanding do you think everything about cryptocurrency transactions and about mixers we claim that they are into privacy transactions is real..if whatever we do with all this mixers is private so while is that FBI still track and also know any transactions of this large amount been done in this particular mixing platform.
The websites of mixers isn't a secret and it is possible for blockchain analysis corporations to link an address belonging to a mixer or to know when a coin was mixed, but what mixers do is to obfuscate the source of your coins, and blockchain analysis finds it very difficult to link the inputs to the outputs, and many times what they basically do is "guesswork", that's why they use centralized exchanges to confiscate mixed coins even when the user wasn't involved in any criminal activity.
667  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is forum reputation enough to influence mixers? on: December 04, 2023, 10:52:50 AM
The answer is yes, they can redress with some certain transactions, some of the mixing companies do some certain knowingly and some transact unknowingly too, but when government pressure come in they don't have a cogent reason to defend themselves.
What do you mean by "redress with some certain transactions", are you insinuating that mixers, which by the way are privacy tools should scrutinize addresses and transactions before deciding who they are going to allow to mix their coins in their platform, how are they then a privacy tool if they do that, that defeats the purpose of a mixer.
and secondly not all the mixing companies that government is after, they are after the ones they detected that they are into money laundering
The government is indirectly after the Bitcoin, they do not want anybody to be able to use Bitcoin privately. Very soon their agenda of "clean" and "dirty" Bitcoins would be so strong that Bitcoins fungibility would take a huge hit.
look at mixin, they are also a branch of mixers but government is not after them because they have no find any faults of money laundering with them.
Are you talking about "mixin network"? They are not a mixer if you do not know, but what they managed to do was lose over $200m of people's money because they kept the keys in the cloud.
668  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is forum reputation enough to influence mixers? on: December 03, 2023, 10:44:25 PM
do you think that the reputation of the forum and the rejection of these mixers from the forum will be enough to force them to change the way they mix their coins?
How can they change the way they mix their coins, their "job" is to obfuscate the source of your coins and they are definitely not going to request for KYC before mixing, because that defeats the purpose of a mixer and thus nobody is going to use that service. Mind you that mixers aren't doing anything inherently wrong, i am surprised that majority of users here aren't seeing the crackdown on mixers as an attack on Bitcoin, but instead that mixers are the problem. Undecided
669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 03, 2023, 10:34:38 PM
How could the referee make such an instant decision? It is meaningless. Haland had already stood up and had already removed the pass from his foot.
That was really poor officiating from Simon Hooper, i can't say what he was thinking there, he let play go on for an advantage and the moment Haaland releases Grealish through on goal, he pulls it back, i have never seen such a decision before, that is why i think sometimes referees need to come up with explanations on some important decisions after the game.

That being said, City didn't draw because of that single action, they drew because they were not ruthless enough in attack and they made quite a lot of mistakes in defense. Pep has quite a lot of work to do if his team are going to be as successful as they were last season, they have to start taking their chances and defending a whole lot better.
670  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the difference between a BTC Mixer and No KYC casino on: December 03, 2023, 10:04:07 PM
...and the casino will not allow you to mix your coins. They will definitely freeze your account when they detect something like this.
They don't have to "allow" you, you could basically deposit coins into a casino address, wager on a few games and withdraw whatever is left into a different address of yours, that will obfuscate your transaction. But the thing is, you could prolly still get your coins back because a casino never portrays themself as being a privacy tool, so they cannot make sure that doesn't happen.
However, people will find something when mixers are totally banned from the Internet.
I don't think mixers can be completely banned, but then again there is coinjoin which is a better privacy tool than mixers.
671  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How mixers work? ELI5 and other questions on: December 03, 2023, 03:37:23 PM
OP, hope you are aware that most mixers tend ro involve in some fradulent acts which was stated by the government. At first it was difficult to believe this but articles and blogs proving that point is all over the net. Soon people will avoid mixing their Bitcoin.
Do you believe the government and what their state-controlled media writes and publishes, you think that mixers and Bitcoin are so widely used for money laundering to warrant this sort of crackdown, there are much more "comfortable" tools people use to launder money, but the government chooses to fully focus on mixers as an indirect attact on Bitcoin. That being said, i don't think people who want privacy would avoid mixing their coins because of this, though it is better if they use non-custodial options like coinjoin.
672  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: X.com (Twitter) is approving phishing website ads, beware on: December 03, 2023, 02:34:28 PM
Phishing websites and links can be found in so many platforms other than X (Twitter), phishing applications are also everywhere in Playstore and even in Apple App store, and you'd be surprised at the number of victims that these scammers manage to defraud.

Some people are just ignorant or gullible and most times they are just greedy, they want to earn unrealistic rewards and they don't want to do their own research on the right place to download certain applications,. Even if X tightens their security on scam website ads, there are so many other options for scammers to use, thus it is on the individual to get more knowledge in order to avoid them.
673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 02, 2023, 11:02:40 PM
Another loss for Manchester United, this is their sixth loss of the season in the EPL in just 14 games, the pressure is mounting on Erik Ten Hag, they are almost certainly out of the CL and their poor form in the EPL continues, Manchester United fans cannot get any respite right now as things go from bad to worse for their club. I am pretty sure the hierarchy would make that tough decision sooner or later, Erik has got to go, and they know it, but they are trying to buy him sometime, the club is tired of the instability with managers, too many have come and gone in recent years, but i am sure they have to do what they have to do.
674  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the alternatives of mixers with the legalities? on: December 02, 2023, 10:23:40 PM
Hmm, there's a point Mixers are not going anywhere but, yeah Forum is entirely eliminating mixers from the promotion, still, crypto mixing is not illegal but many people use it for some kind of evil.
Yes, but the forum isn't banning mixers because criminals use it, i'm sure Theymos knows better, criminals use the internet and fiat, criminals use quite a lot of things that "normal" people use, but it is the purpose that is the difference and that is the same case with Bitcoin mixers. The thing is, there is an attack against Bitcoin through Bitcoin mixers and the administrator doesn't want the forum to be caught in the crossfire.
TBH, the Forum was proving some kind of authenticity about the mixer where the users who are not familiar with trusted services, here that user was able to identify the trusted services, based on the user's reviews, and discussions. Now this will be no longer available.
I 100% agree, i think scam mixers are going to have field days after the 31st of Dec, since directing people to mixers is banned, you can only expect users to do their own research about mixers to use, quite a lot of people would be scammed as a result of this.
675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 01, 2023, 08:38:48 PM
Pep Guardiola and his fired squad will thrash Angelos Postecoglou and his men with ease efforts because we're yet to watch these returning injured players falling back to the team.
I know that Spurs are missing quite a lot of players due to injuries and suspensions and it makes life more difficult for them especially coming up against the treble winners, but it could be extra motivation for the players that Ange Postecoglou fields on Sunday. City are at home and the Etihad is a fortress, thus i think City are going to win the game, but not by a humilating scoreline, it would be a tight game, i don't see City winning 4-0 or 5-0, it would be way closer than that.
676  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the alternatives of mixers with the legalities? on: December 01, 2023, 08:25:46 PM
I don't think many of you understand what is going on, the forum is banning mixers in its entirety, but it does not mean that mixers cease to exist, you just cannot send people links to mixers or tell them mixers to use in this forum, you have to look for mixers you want to use elsewhere other the forum. The OP sounds like mixers no longer exist and we now need another alternative. BTW mixers are not illegal:
Quote
A cryptocurrency mixing service is not necessarily illegal.
677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: December 01, 2023, 05:00:47 PM
We keep our fingers crossed as we await the resumption of the next round of the competition after the final matches of the group stage.
Yeah, four more teams are going to qualify in the final round of games and it is going to be interesting to find out which teams it's going to be, Group A and Group F is where the most drama is. Copenhagen, Galatasaray and United all have a chance to qualify, though it is no longer in United's hands, they have to win their own game against Bayern Munich and hope for a draw in the other game, it'd be a miracle for things to pan out in that way.

Group F is tough as well, Newcastle, PSG and AC Milan all have a chance to qualify too, but it is no longer in Newcastle's hands, they have to beat AC Milan in their own game and hope that Dortmund do them a favor by holding down PSG to at least a draw. The final game would be so important for these teams and interesting from a neutral point of view.
678  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers Signatures : A challenge or Respect on: December 01, 2023, 03:50:40 PM
Why this new topic? Theymos already made everything crystal clear in his post on the mixer ban on the forum, anything campaign managers and their participants decide to do before the 31st of this month is their choice/decision, why are you concerned about it?
679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 01, 2023, 03:28:28 PM
At this point sacking Ten Hag would be a very good decision from Manchester United. Ten Hag is not going to improve this team in anyway. He seems clueless and the players don't look like people that want to work for him.
The hierarchy at Manchester United are hesitant to make any managerial changes, and i think it boils down to the fact that they have hired and fired quite a lot of managers in recent years, and they prolly are tired of the trend, they would have hoped things turned out differently with Erik Ten Hag, but it is what it is and they might have to fire him sooner rather than later.

Having said that, who is going to be the replacement, and how sure are we that he is going to be successful, it is hard to place what exactly is the problem with the club, if it is the manager, the players or the hierarchy, i reckon it is all three of them, but in a football club, it is always the manager that gets the sack letter anyway.
680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 30, 2023, 10:57:13 PM
After they took Cristiano Ronaldo out of the team, they had very good results in the league for a while. But then things started to go wrong. Erik ten Hag is definitely not the right man for Manchester United, but Cristiano Ronaldo is not the right man for Manchester United anymore.
Erik Ten Hag would be fired sooner rather than later, he has failed to get the kind of success that a club like Manchester United deserves, if Erik is fired, it would leave him with egg on his face, he has treated some players in a bad way and pushed them out of the club, those decisions didn't make United a better team, but prolly even worse.

Ronaldo was getting the goals for United before Erik was hired, he wasn't so young, but he was the clubs best goalscorer, the way Erik treated him and pushed him out of the club was really classless, and if he gets fired in the next couple of months, it would be proof that he is an average manager.
