661  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Security Should Be Your First Target as a Newbie on: October 21, 2023, 06:37:43 AM
Security is not a hard thing to do but what we did is we ruin it and let someone hack our keys due to the wrong practice of safekeeping. We usually think that by having those things that you have mentioned OP, we are totally safe which is not as we are still prone to these smart hackers. Honestly, we are all subject to that scenario as we are working online. But there is a way to avoid this (at least) and that is not to click and visit sites that are not known to us or something to say, unsolicited links that redirect us to account login.
662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or keep playing? on: October 20, 2023, 09:51:25 PM
It’s the classic dilemma of the gambling world. Personally, I believe it all boils down to self-control and knowing your limitsw. I prefer to do both like do it in half. I mean it’s preferable to continue playing from my winnings, right? I think theres a thrill in the possibility of even greater winnings after a large win. It's not just about the money, it's about the excitement and the hope for an even more bigger prize. But its still essential to approach this with caution and set clear limits. Responsible gambling means knowing when to walk away and not letting the pursuit of more winnings overshadow the joy of the initial winning. It's a delicate balance between enjoying the moment and being mindful of the risks involved. After all, the key is to have fun while staying with what you can afford to lose.

What is a big deal in making a decision to either continue or cash out, it's not a dilemma stage at all because a gambler will not waste time in thinking on what to do in this kind of situation, if we think we can afford the risk to continue gambling because we already have that greedy enough, we may continue till everything got exhausted, if we are the considerate kind of gambler, we may quit for some other day.
Whether they cash out or keep their winnings on the platform, they are probably sure what they are doing. But for me, I withdraw some just to save my capital. Perhaps, responsible gambler knows what is best for them and when it comes to money, they are certain about it unless they are heavily addicted to gambling where they never know anything but to keep playing while they still have money. For at least, withdrawing some of our winnings could help us not to lose too much.
663  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading on your own vs social trading and copy trading on: October 20, 2023, 09:11:27 PM

Profits is something that in result with the good analysis that you have been making and on having that little bit mix of luck when we do speak about success yet even if we arent dealing with gambling but since this market is really that unpredictable then it would really be that so normal  that we would really be needing up that kind of approach or anticipations about random results because  there are factors which could really affect out market movement and this would really be resulting on messing up on the analysis that you had made out earlier. Trading is really not an easy path that someone could easily take on which it would really be needing that non stop learning and adaptability towards market volatility and random aspect or behavior, because if you dont have that kind of treatment or approach then for sure you would really be having a hard time on handling yourself towards this market or simply you cant really just that be able to make yourself that sustainable or could be able to succeed this type of career.
That is the case why we should not underestimate trading and the market which means that we have to enhance our level of understanding and skill just to fit with it. While we know that trading is not easy, therefore, we have to improve our knowledge as well because this is the only to help us succeed. So if we think we can't do it and still feel that we are hopeless and even too emotional, I don't think we need to force ourselves either. Otherwise, we are not trading but making it like gambling where we just rely on luck not strategies.
664  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is doubling your investment more probable than we think? on: October 20, 2023, 08:25:20 PM
The purpose of investing more is to earn more as well. Why not do it as long as it won't compromise our finances and if we are willing to take risks? It is an individual decision and for sure, we know the situation and the consequences that may happen if ever we fail.
If it has been asked if it is more profitable, I believe it is as long as we are investing profitable coins as well. Because it depends on the coins that we invested but if we are buying shitcoins, expect more losses than earning a profit.
665  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you manage your finances and family if your income is low range? on: October 19, 2023, 09:45:44 PM
This question is too easy to answer with discipline, but it's hard to do in action. Not everyone earns enough money daily, and the cost varies by country. The government adjusts the minimum wage, but it may not be enough. We must reduce our expenses to the point where we can only afford basic daily meals. It's hard since those who manage the minimum wage earner don't have to struggle with that problem. Sometimes, when I get sick, I need to loan to some people to afford medications.
Indeed, there is a big challenge in doing it in actuality rather than just saying it. That is why a lot of people fail to make it as we know that inflation can also affect our budget plus some emergencies. Honestly, it is not impossible if we change our lifestyle and remain low but with the inflation rate these days, it really has a huge impact on our budget. A reason why we should not just be contented with what we have earned today, we should find other sources of income to cope with the growing expenses.
666  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Bitcoin really risky as they say? on: October 19, 2023, 01:41:33 PM
Most of the time we just find out that Bitcoin investment is too risky when we already experienced getting hacked. Most of the time we appreciate how to value security when we already lose control of our wallet keys/password. Generally, most of us don't anticipate such a situation until the time we experience it. Because no matter what we say or spread awareness to the community, only a few people believe it while the majority just pass it by.

In fact, Bitcoin has been known not only for being a profitable investment but also because of its volatility and high-risk investment.
667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question for those who loose too frequently in gambling on: October 19, 2023, 08:22:14 AM
I have often wondered about the people who have lost a lot in gambling and who almost loose in every gambling activity they participate. What is their reason or motivation to continue even after so many losses?

I'm up for the challenge, I think? Hehe. I continue, of course, because I can't just easily let go of those losses. You know, when a gambler loses money, it challenges them to improve their strategy and test if the strategy they've developed will work. So they keep trying and trying. It's unlikely that a gambler will lose every time they play. That would simply mean the gambler doesn't know gambling at all. The real scenario is that we lose most of the time, not every time.
668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: October 19, 2023, 07:35:42 AM
I already voted for Haney by decision but personally, I want Prograis to win. So I support Prograis because he is the more exciting fighter by delivering knockouts in most of his fights.

Same here. Haney is a boring fighter and he should not be undisputed at the moment as Loma schooled him hehe. I just hope though that Prograis would knock him out because if this goes the distance, most likely Haney will win by decision as judges will favor him. We may not like him but Haney has also this amazing "Mayweather-like" defense.

It would be another controversial outcome if he got schooled, survived the fight, but was able to win via judges' scorecards. It's pretty obvious that they want to keep him undefeated and market him in the future as the new face of boxing—typical rigging, which is rampant in boxing.

Haney has to win this one convincingly. It doesn't matter if he's boring; we can't do anything about that. But as the challenger, he should make the champion look like an amateur, so he will not be questioned.
669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was ripped off on: October 18, 2023, 09:56:51 PM
I sent a guy a down payment on a car. I use a program called Electrum. After I sent him the money I figured out I was being scammed. Do I have any recourse? Any way to recover my money?

I do have the guys wallet ID and the transaction ID.

Thankfully is was only 55.58663 mBTC
This is one reason why some people are afraid to use online transactions and BTC, especially when it is already a huge amount. Although we can trace the wallet where we send our money and point out who is the owner of that wallet is hard to prove. It is a big mistake and it was hard to take your money back, maybe you consider it lost money already. You are not just a victim of a scam but also, a victim of trusting someone who can't be trusted as well. Maybe if you make DP in front of that person, I don't think he could run away with the money.
670  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A Simple Yet Powerful Message That Will Always Hold True on: October 18, 2023, 01:38:16 PM
I believe the message is very clear - Buy only Bitcoin. But, what are we gonna do with these altcoins like Ethereum and BNB? For newbies, this should be the best option but for us who have been in the crypto market for many years, I don't think we just ignore altcoins. Maybe I was wrong but can't just ignore the fact that some altcoins are more profitable than Bitcoin. For me, altcoins are still a good investment but that is right, we should be careful in choosing them. And it also depends on the time we bought them.

Scams just happen to those who have no knowledge about crypto and those who are greedy. If we know how to secure our funds from the hands of these scammers, they will just fail.
671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 18, 2023, 12:23:34 PM
Lillard is still struggling in the preseason. In the game against OKC, they lost by 23 points, even after winning two big games earlier. He's shooting 2-11 and only managed to score 5 points in 24 minutes of play. I don't know anymore; it really feels like the system is taking a toll on his stats. His three-point shooting has been really off, with no makes out of 5 attempts.

The Bucks need to sort this out early since the regular season hasn't even kicked off. Hopefully, they'll find a way to get the old Lillard back and make some major adjustments if needed. After all, they brought Lillard in for a reason, and if they can't maximize his potential, I'm worried they might end up with the same fate as last season in the playoffs, or maybe even worse.
I don't believe he is completely comfortable playing with this team and the other players just yet. So this feeling out period is still needed because those numbers are quite poor to say the least for the amount of money they paid for him.
Seeing him in green just didn't feel right to me as I was a Blazers fan and will always see him in red.
Will wait and see next week if things will improve when the regular season kicks off on the 24th.

His buddy CJ was doing pretty well with the Pelicans. It would be a pity to see Lillard struggle with the Bucks, considering he's one of their main players, at least based on his salary. The Bucks needed someone like him, so there were high expectations when they got Lillard. But his numbers aren't all that impressive. I could understand if it was just one game, but it's not. In their game against the Lakers, he also only shot 3-10, though he finished with 14 points.

Let's compare his performance this preseason, which is pretty poor when you look at his overall performance last season with the Blazers, where he finished with a 46% field goal percentage. Now, in these last two games, if we combine them to get an average, it's only 24% – very low! Is it not 'Dame time' yet? Grin

I will react if that will be the same performance during the regular season. I think they are just letting him to find his comfort zone,
Giannis and the rest of the squad will be there for him.

With the same goal, winning the title, bringing Dame in hope that they will be more competitive. This coming is really expected by the fans.

We never know what will be the strategy here. They just go for whatever will be the outcome during this pre-season and will be back
strong when the regular season begins.

We're about to find out soon since the regular season starts in less than a week. The schedule indicates that the first game is on October 24, but the Bucks' first game is only on October 26 against the 76ers, and it's a home game for them. So, Lillard should play better, given his familiarity with their home court, even though he's relatively new to the team.

However, there's still a lingering doubt. No star player would perform poorly in the preseason and then suddenly shine in the regular season. What's going on? Is he trying to keep us guessing or perhaps trying to solve a puzzle here?
672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 18, 2023, 11:39:43 AM
Great news for SMB.

Newlywed Jeron Teng moves to SMB on two-year contract
Quote
JUST days after getting hitched, Jeron Teng got a new lease on life in his PBA career.

Teng, who became a free agent after he was released by Converge, signed a two-year contract with the Beermen on Wednesday in the presence of SMC sports director Alfrancis Chua and his agent Danny Espiritu.

Now, I can confidently say that SMB is shaping up to be a solid defensive team. With a healthy JMF, this team is becoming a force to reckon with, especially since Ginebra will be missing Brownlee as the new season kicks off. Great pick-up by SMB!

Jeron Teng has proven himself to be a valuable contributor, particularly on the defensive end. He's also got some great driving skills to get to the paint, which pairs well with JMF's capabilities. SMB doesn't just need more outside shooter; they need a player who knows how to attack and Teng seems to fit that mold.
673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which old coin do you prefer? Litecoin or Dogecoin? on: October 17, 2023, 09:52:29 PM
Among the good-old coins listed on the market today, which one do you prefer the most? Litecoin or Dogecoin? The former is often used for serious cross-border payments at a fraction of the cost, while the latter is used more for micropayments/tipping. Despite these differences, it's no secret that DOGE is faster and cheaper to use than LTC itself (Dogecoin's block time is lower than Litecoin's, while market prices are cheaper). I'd choose both as they're tried-and-tested blockchain networks with decentralization and security/reliability in mind.

What would be your pick? And why did you choose that coin in the first place? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley
We hate Dogecoin because of its manipulative price but this also gives profit to the investors. The Dogecoin community is getting big while we hate Elon Musk, more people have come to invest in Dogecoin which keeps this project popular despite it was meme coin.

But talking about Litecoin seems to be out of the trend and popularity these days but yes, still a good investment. However, with the current situation and the expected bull season, I'd prefer to invest in Dogecoin over Litecoin as I'd see that Doge seems to give more pumps.
674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 17, 2023, 08:05:07 AM
Speaking of JB guys, Ginebra seems to be dropping JB on their roster and is now trying to find another import as replacement. Sad for the Brgy. Ginebra fans, I mean for all of the fans because he have lifted the Gilas during the Asian games and brought gold home.

I just read the news, and it seems that Ginebra is no longer contesting the test results. They will accept what happened and look for a replacement for Brownlee. Now, this is a different ball game without Brownlee, so let's see if Ginebra is still the team to beat. By the way, is Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (RHJ) playing as an import for any team in the PBA?
675  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino Junket Operator on: October 17, 2023, 06:37:18 AM

So, it is not always some kind of scam.... but just some off-the-book strategy to hook high rollers for the casino.  Roll Eyes

This offer was used to scam people, and it happened in the Philippines, with millions of pesos being scammed. The promise of a 5% monthly return is undeniably attractive, and on the surface, it doesn't appear overly suspicious, as even legitimate lending businesses can offer interest rates in the range of 5% to 10% on a monthly basis, which is reasonable. However, what's truly dubious about the scammers who defrauded numerous investors is their tendency to flaunt substantial profits. These scammers often entice people to entrust their investments, and unfortunately, the victims fail to see it as a red flag. Consequently, they end up losing a significant amount of money. Their lack of knowledge and, perhaps, their greediness have led them into this unfortunate situation.
676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: October 15, 2023, 09:16:23 AM

The outcome of the fight doesn't benefit him. It ended in a DRAW, but it's not just the outcome that concerns us; it's how he handled the fight and how he appeared to gas out early. It's not a good sign for him, and I think Inoue could decline his challenge, saying he's not on his level.

He was expected to win that fight convincingly, but we were surprised by his performance. If you watched that fight, you could really see how badly he wanted to knock out his opponent. It was evident right from the very first round of the fight that this was his intention. But we should never underestimate his opponent; after all, he was a former bantamweight champion, so he has some skills and the mindset of a champion.

I'm not sure what's next for Casimero, but the fact that he didn't lose still keeps him in a ranking that could potentially improve over time. I know he's very eager to fight Inoue, but I think he should let that opportunity pass for now. There's a time for everything, and what he needs to do is train well, get some more fights under his belt, and make sure he impress the fans. That's when the hype for their matchup will be created again.

For now, we can only speculate on the possible outcome of an Inoue vs. Tapales fight, as this is shaping up to be the most significant bout in the lower division so far.
677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An agent is no where to be found. on: October 15, 2023, 07:32:37 AM
Even I know there are betting agents who are so trusted, that they never meet you, and you just tell them your bet and deposit money in their accounts and all this correspondence is done through mobile or WhatsApp. It is always better to investigate the repute of the betting agent before transferring your money to him.

Even if such an agent has a good reputation, the fact that they hold the money for betting can be very risky. They might get tempted when facing financial problems – it's a very human trait. In comparison, when you deposit funds directly with a casino that has a reputation to uphold, they have a bigger interest in keeping your money secure and paying you when you win. Their reputation is their main asset in maintaining a profitable business.
678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often is your luck in gambling? on: October 14, 2023, 02:26:03 PM
I'm usually not lucky in winning in gambling and that's why I have limited my engagement on gambling to the barest minimum. I know some group of people who are always making cool money from gambling but after making several attempts to win my gambles, I always find out that I'm not as lucky as others so I decided not to get involved in gambling again like others. But that doesn't mean that I've totally stopped gambling as I can only gamble on sports betting whenever I can do it without my basic income.
This is also one of my reason why I have limited gambling time, that is because my luck is not present always and its rarely to happen and if my luck is there, still the profit is not that high. I honestly feel jealous to some of my friends who got a lucky jackpot most of the time, I’m also hoping for that day to come. Gambling is a game of luck, if its not around better to have a limited exposure and just wait for your moment to get a win, patience is a virtue as well in gambling, better not to expect that much.
Luck seems not to be on us always, therefore, we have to accept the fact that we never win always as well.
Yes, I believe that some people got too lucky while some are not just like you. But it doesn't really matter if you are gambling just for fun but if you think about winning and hoping for luck, you'll gonna missed it. I would admit that never been so lucky in gambling but I was still doing this just because I was happy being on the platform even though I kept losing. And because I'm no lucky guy, I'd choose to gamble in sports betting which I think I have the chance of being in the lottery or those things that only luck is the way to win.
679  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How long to learn trading? on: October 14, 2023, 01:23:10 PM
I never believe in luck.
Well I did because it already happen to me - is different place and situation.
Quote
Trading is not an easy thing to do because there is a lot of learning that has to be done beforehand and it takes a long process or time for us to learn, but that doesn't mean this is something that can't be done by everyone because basically trading is for people who want to learn.
I would agree that trading is not easy but not difficult to learn if we really want to know about it. Of course, it never happens too fast and quick but as we keep going, we can learn a lot of things. That is why those people who would think that they can make money is a short time, those who have never understood trading itself.
Quote
In my opinion, time is uncertain because people's capacity and learning will be different so there are some things that can be done quickly or vice versa, but what is certain is that if the person is willing to learn then I am sure they will be able to trade well and correctly, and this must be underlined. is that profit and loss are normal and normal things that happen, no matter how good a person is at trading, they will definitely experience these two things.
No instant, that was the fact and we can't change that. Before we become pro traders and reach our goal, we also have a lot of suffering and losses.
If we wanted to become a pro-trader then we should also have the courage and spirit, and of course, to become patient.
680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can change lives on: October 14, 2023, 11:55:57 AM
This is no news, Bitcoin has the capacity to turn even the poor but well-informed people to be wealthy. It's all about the risk the person takes at that time that it's at low prices. It's still not late though. The regret I have about Bitcoin is that it wasn't as popular as this, if not, I don't think I would have missed out on being a millionaire in the USD through it.

Such a very big investment success might not be possible again, but in the long run, the person that consistently invest in Bitcoin will never regret their bet on it.

Not all the poor tho, since privilege is what we're talking here. No matter how much they wanted to invest, if they don't have the capability of buying because of their salary and responsibilities in their lives, or if they can't make a loan because of their financial status, then there's nothing they can do to change their lives unless someone would help them to arrange things for them to make their lives a little bit more easier.
It can change life if we invest in the right way. But talking about poor people seems to be a challenge for them in terms of capital. They are really unfortunate and has little chance to make their life better with Bitcoin but those in the middle class and rich people will get their way to improve more.

I don't encourage someone to take a loan for this investment or even sell their valuable asset for this. In fact, many people got this idea but sadly, they'll turn to nothing and empty because they fail. The consequences are harsh which is why we have to be careful as this will not just make our life better but also can ruin our finances as well.
