6881  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Congress Releases Extraordinary Report Praising Cryptocurrency!!! on: March 19, 2018, 10:42:20 PM
The Congress wants to use the blockchain technology to make the US gov "more efficient" but too late, there is nothing able to do that for the USA. The mess is too big now. The last date to get the chance to do it was during JFK.

But here the irony with your title is the congressman accidentally admitted cryptocurrencies threaten govt’s “control” Over the citizens

Perfectly showing the banks own the country
6882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news for bitcoin as G20 says no crackdown for cryptocurrencies on: March 19, 2018, 05:15:50 PM
I haven't followed the news closely but from what I get, They didn't really say "no crackdown" but rather starting to figure out they can't really regulate the cryptocurrency industry. Christine Lagarde wants to use the blockchain technology with the hope to regulate.... something using blockchain, Do you see the irony?
6883  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Ads on: March 19, 2018, 04:04:29 PM
Facebook doesn't really matter for cryptocurrency projects. Especially about ICO. I work with 2 web agencies focusing only on Crypto/ICO/Blockchain and they don't really give a damn to facebook, they target Facebook rather for to send some social signal. SMM isn't interesting with Facebook

2 years ago Google banned payday loan, It didn't matter since, people are still making a huge money in this niche. Crypto/ICO/Blockchain project doesn't really need adword. If they are serious about their marketing they perfectly know how to.

It will be the same on Twitter, They perfectly know, what to do, and if they don't, it just shows the amateurism.

Final word: who cares?
6884  Other / Meta / Re: Why my messages keeps getting deleted on: March 18, 2018, 11:39:44 PM
I can't see the photo you uploaded, I feel bad because maybe that's an important detail of your query.

Anyway, it's not shocking to know if some of your posts are getting deleted because honestly your posts are insignificant (no offense sir). I'm not judging you but it seems that you are only spamming for you to rank up, if my presumption is right then I just want to tell you that you're just wasting your time.

Here's my advice, study more about crypto and try to explore other sections of this forum like Bitcoin Discussions, Economy and Trading Discussions instead of doing one-liner replies on threads about bounty/airdrops which is not totally necessary. Participate in sensible discussions and try to contribute in the forum  by sharing your ideas and inspiring others.

Im not trying to rank up via posts because i know that's useless, honestly im only joining the airdrops/bounties you can see it in my posts too. But it seemed weird to me that some post of me which in my opinion was a great reply to a airdrop thread was removed and the post i maked much earlier in my early days  Grin which is basically shit like the example wasnt removed.

EXAMPLE >

I dont post "Hi" "Or joined airdrop"

Well... LOL?

Hey, i have joined twitter and telegram.
Good luck!

Like this reply of me on an airdrop page where everyday airdrops are posted with and without ref link is removed. I know ref links are forbidden but the page where i posted it, is a thread with posts like this. Look > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2170068.7140
I see
Maybe it has been posted before you, or maybe it was reported because it's not a correct french used. You used "reference" for a referral. Reference means nothing, referral means "filleul" (dans le sens du parrainage). Quite unlucky since there are people translating a full ICO using google translate only, but it's not a problem.
the french forum is a total mess. I call this sub-forum "le cadavre". that's why you never see me posting there.

But posting (in the English section) "hi joined the bounty" "hi, great project, I joined the airdrop"  will make your account banned without a warning
6885  Other / Meta / Re: What does "leet" means in my profile? on: March 18, 2018, 12:48:40 AM
That's a nice thing by Theymos.
If I knew it then I would not have posted the op to make my post count to 1338 for at least 1 day.  Cheesy

It was awesome to stay at 1337 = leet for 1 day  Roll Eyes crap big mistake I made.  Sad

But at least I kept a screenshot of this awesome thing.

It's not something done by Theymos it's from Simple Machines Forum simplemachines.org
6886  Other / Meta / Re: What does "leet" means in my profile? on: March 18, 2018, 12:32:55 AM
It's a kind of joke from SMF forum script the dev. added, when a user made 1337 posts instead to display 1337 you will see leet or l33t
it came like that by default. And @BillyBobZorton is right, it's a meme at least 30 years old
6887  Other / Meta / Re: Any solution for over-crowded and useless posts? on: March 17, 2018, 11:32:01 PM
So there are countless topics in this forum that are answered in like the third or fourth post but are continued to be filled by shitposters with the answers just repeated in different styles.
One way that I think to stop that is the user who starts a new topic waits for his answer and when he does receive the most satisfactory reply to his topic he awards the reply a merit and then locks the topic so that no further waste gets accumulated in the topic and anyone who wishes to gain knowledge can just read the topic and get only what he exactly wants. What this would also do is make the merit system functional and no one would have to wait for light years to get promoted to a new rank.

So please suggest any of your ideas.
I'll start implementing my idea from now by choosing the best 2 ideas and award each 1 merit!

Fazlurkhan.kz why do you want the user who starts a new topic locks it once he got what he was looking for? They are not interested in the replies, they don't really have a question either. They open a topic, then wait some minutes and use their alt accounts to reply to themselves or their buddies come to participate in the discussion the rank race.

One problem with locking a topic as you suggest, it prevents users to have a discussion, debate... which is the reason we're here basically
For example, you open a discussion and then 1-2 members reply to you. While you got your "best" answer, someone may be interested to add something, to give his/her opinion, correct this or that, whatever...

With time you know what topic to avoid just by reading the title
6888  Other / Meta / Re: Spoiler tags? on: March 17, 2018, 11:08:43 PM
It's usually useful for example when you are posting a long post with some paragraphs, lists, etc that you want to hide or for any other reason. It makes it more clean; highlighting the text in black may be useless, hiding something with something that needs to be hidden too
6889  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: (WIP) Community Compiled List of Sites Browser Mining on: March 17, 2018, 10:18:21 PM
Can you show me a website currently using this method
In your post you referer about a site for a news article for Bitcoin, you are talking about a small to medium blog, right?

And secondly, aren't the antivirus blocking or flagging these websites?
6890  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Microchip wallets and Implants😱😱😱 on: March 17, 2018, 09:48:53 PM
I think I am going to try, It can be removed at any time, so. I want to be part of the Darwin theory if he is right and become a pioneer in the human evolution
You guys will struggle with coins in your pocket Cheesy

Nah I'm alright. I'm not sure why you would want to do that as I don't see the benefits of it, and to be honest is nothing but a gimmick. Just curious how much would this piece of kit actually cost? Would like to hear a medical professionals input on this too.

If I remember correctly the cost is like 70£, it contains the microchip and a kit to get it injected. I too was interested to hear any input from a medical person but after all, dogs and cats have microchip too for years, I haven't seen a veterinarian to claim it's not good for the health
I remember a news in Spain about a nightclub, instead to have your ticket once you pay, you have a microchip

It's actually going to be somewhat inevitable at some point. It's not that long ago where I have seen a documentary of someone who's accessing his house, his work, paying for stuff wirelessly, etc, all with the chip he had implanted in his hand. Currently we're all like, wtf, who would do such a thing, but as time goes by, it will become less weird, and may even become normal to the extent where even the average person jumps on board. In most cases people go for that what offers them the best possible convenience and usability, and implanting a chip might fit in that category. The only thing that we don't know yet, or not completely know, is how secure they are, and what happens if someone just rips your skin open to take that chip out.

Hey, I think I watched this documentary recently, wasn't it about neurotechnology and genetic manipulations? and the guy was a big fan of IoT and domotic? this dude was going too far,  I said this man will be "blockchainized" in some months Grin
6891  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Survey targetting the USA audience: Why Haven't You Invested in Cryptocurrency? on: March 17, 2018, 08:27:02 PM
More than 90 percent of Americans don’t own any cryptocurrencies.

Americans are losing jobs to $8000/month foreign workers (H1-B visas). Who will buy Bitcoin for $3,000 ??

If they borrow money to buy the latest Iphone (at 700$?) or the latest TV, then they can borrow money to buy some cryptos.
[ur=https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2699700.msg27593633#msg27593633]18% of Investors Buy Bitcoin With Borrowed Money and22% of them haven't pay off their credit card balance
South Koreans are the most active crypto investors and the unemployment rate is near the same as the USA
6892  Other / Meta / Re: Spoiler tags? on: March 17, 2018, 08:12:16 PM
Me too, I wanted to use it before but It doesn't work here, not sure why, maybe it's supposed to be enabled from the administration side?
It's the first SMF based forum I use where it's not possible to use the spoiler tags :/
6893  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Survey targetting the USA audience: Why Haven't You Invested in Cryptocurrency? on: March 17, 2018, 05:45:54 PM
(I made the graphic but I didn't conduct the survey; just to clarify before people post where, what, when)
(No need to debate Women VS Men please)

More than 90 percent of Americans don’t own any cryptocurrencies. The principal reasons given are they are not interested in or they think there is no need for it. The second reason is it's too high risk. Followed by thinking it's a scam or it's still too difficult to understand or to use.

If it's a scam then did they forgot what the FED is really about. Did they already forget the 2008 crisis?

There are still a lot of things to do to facilitate the use and advantages of crypto and educating people about it

6894  Other / Meta / Re: My conspiracy theory about spammers on: March 15, 2018, 10:27:25 PM
Blame the Moms at home joining the forum without even knowing what is a block, as well the teenagers who find an easy way to get money to buy the latest Iphone 37.

You think I am joking right? Nope, I am serious. I know because I see them daily on Twitter, and as they're using their real photo bio, I can see easily the type of audience they belong too. Recently it becomes popular to use the hashtag #Bitcointalk #Airdrop #Bounties in their Bio Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy... It's funny because they create the same garbage there on Twitter (and surely FB) I try to avoid them like the Aids, you can't imagine how my blocked list is huge Cheesy

Back to the topic. I need to tell you the funniest shitposts I have read here.

"All bitcoins have been mined"
"Satoshi can't log in Bitcointalk because his account is compromised"

Most of the people joining here are either penny banger, they found a method to make money on an MMO blog. Yes, I saw that once, a blog about how to make some bucks online turned to how to make money on Bitcointalk...
Or 3rd countries spreading the word to brothers, cousins, moms, grandma, neighbors and the whole city,  that here they are plenty of fishes swimming in a huge swimming pool
6895  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase gets UK bank account with Barclays on: March 15, 2018, 08:31:54 PM
https://www.coindesk.com/coinbase-receives-e-money-license-from-u-k-financial-regulator/

A bit more info here. Coinbase will be enabling faster payments which is a first and a huge improvement on the clunky shite you have to go through at present. Elsewhere they've said the UK is their biggest market in Europe by far which surprises me quite a bit.

Interesting that you would consider UK a crypto backwater! They have been having several of those "neo banks" all based around UK, several in Ireland and Scotland and mostly in England, at least for two years? I can't remember the name of one but it even launched some ICO last year and was really successful. I guess now Coinbase will no longer be known as an American only exchange. I know Barclays is branched out in many commonwealth countries too, so maybe proxy access to non-UK but Commonwealth nations?

Compared to a place like the US where there are tons of places to shop with it and buy and sell it then yes it is. I'm talking more about action for regular people rather than backroom stuff.

It's maybe the only choice for UK people, it's a pain in the ass to try the other to get a tiny chance. You can notice in the past many topics in this section from UK people asking where they can buy bitcoins and withdraw to their UK account.
Other EU citizens don't really have reason to use Coinbase because there are better alternatives, so naturally, we use other platforms. Personally, I don't know anyone going to Coinbase for this
6896  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor and Ledger on: March 15, 2018, 04:31:09 PM
Ledger is, for me, easy to use. A bit confusing for the first minutes using it but it's because their instructions are not efficiently listed. Can't comment about Trezor because I don't own any but I am planning to add it to my list for the next Christmas gifts list :p

Ledger was founded in 2015 in France. The company has since gained substantial traction in the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency sphere and has grown to be a worthy competitor to SatoshiLabs (the creators of TREZOR).
TREZOR, on the other hand, has been on TREZOR on the other hand recently announced that they have partnered with MyEtherWallet to support Ethereum on their device as well. Other currencies supported through TREZOR are Dash, Zcash and Litecoin (via Electrum LTC market since 2014.

Would you mind posting the source when you're commenting using the content from someone else?

It's so boring to read people here when they are just stealing some folks on the web.

6897  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever knows that Stephen Hawking have talked about bitcoin or crypto? on: March 15, 2018, 04:16:32 PM
Have you ever knows that Stephen Hawking have talked about bitcoin or crypto world before died? As long as we know, he was not interest for a mathematic and physics only.

Nobel Prize winning physicist, Stephen Hawking, recently created a software within the bitcoin and crypto trading markets which has the potential to disrupt the distribution of wealth throughout the world. Stephen Hawking says that “Me and my team have developed a software, which gathers data from bits ...

Hawking has never created something like that. It was a scam advertisement from a binary options platform and when you asked the company for any proof that he has really written this algorithm, they were not able, because he didn't... You can search for "Hawcode" to find more about this story

here is your problem: You just copy paste content from a Medium blog here so reported by clicking the great report button
6898  Other / Meta / Re: Personal Identity - Message to Theymos on: March 15, 2018, 12:36:17 AM
OP is wrong because KYC is not for investors only, but for participants as well.

''-Lastly, By joining on my bounty program, You agree that we might require you to provide KYC at the end of campaign.''

Selling your private information is just another way these scammers will make money.

Don't participate in any campaigns that ask for info you are not comfortable with giving.

It's because the projects need to abide by the laws, there are several projects like this, with a condition saying they may need your personal information, (usually when you earned above xxx$) Yes, I mean the participants in the ICOs.
It surely depends on what part of the world they are, as laws may be different from countries to countries... There are many startups raising funds using the ICO model, it doesn't mean these startups are not supposed to abide by their laws

Theymos cannot refuse these campaigns because they are following their KYC laws and regulations.

Well, with a dozen of cryptocurrencies in your portfolio you're not a total newbie. I don't know half of them personally. Because I have not a real interest in altcoins, (3-4 not more currently) My cryptocurrencies disorder stopped long ago.

As you can see it's all about how you believe in the project and making your own due diligence. You be interested in a crypto with a small community because you're interested in the project, to use the product they have to offer, or because you like their philosophy, etc.

Or you can use a crypto you don't give a fuck about it, you just plan to make some cash in a quick time and move to the next...
