6984  Other / Meta / Re: Over 20 million views on: February 12, 2018, 11:57:56 PM
Do not represent a point of view.
You have 39 views, not 39 people view your post "In fact 22 of them by me".
Some accounts are posting daily on that wall "more than 1000 view for some accounts".
Non-unique views do not add to the count. AFAIK, it's discrete data based on accounts & guest viewings. (I'm not sure if there is a IP-based uniqueness for the view counts)

SMF software considers 1 view per IP per 24 hours. Basically, it works like this, there is maybe a setting to tweak but I doubt.
SMF also consider link posted on Twitter as views, even if no one clicked the link. If someone is automating the topic to be posted there then here we go

I don't know much about Quickseller's history but I prefer to read Quickseller and his crazy drama topics than the majority of people here.
And members are smart enough to visit the trust page and see what's going on. Everyone takes it(or at least should) with a grain of salt
6986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Cryptocurrencies are Changing the IT Industry on: February 12, 2018, 11:01:07 PM
Much less than the blockchain technology itself in my opinion. There are more cases besides IT in which the blockchain can be used and we have not yet the full idea of how powerful it is.

6987  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [LIST] Free EU bank accounts that you can be opened directly online on: February 12, 2018, 10:05:25 PM
Is there a risk that these service providers will follow CRS and report account balances back to our tax agencies? I am looking for a EUR card that I can use for normal living expenses. I would prefer not to be charged with tax evasion  Grin
No, because legally they are not considered as a bank but rather as a payment system (similar to Paypal)

Yep, they aren't considered as a bank so the companies don't report anything to the tax agencies, however, if an institution from the government (such as police, tax agency, justice court, and similar) ask to the companies to provide a report needed for their investigations, they will give everything without a question

Thanks for the replies. So even N26, Bunq, Mistertango etc. are not legally considered as banks? If they don't report anything then the government institutions shouldn't even know to ask for information from them  Grin

You're welcome.
N26 and Bunq are a pure bank now. Bunq got its banking license with the Dutch Central Bank 2-3 years ago and N26 got it from BaFin during 2016. It was the reason they changed the name to N26 Bank.
Mistertango isn't considered as a bank but as an electronic payment company supervised by the Bank of Lithuania. So they don't a banking license but another one  Smiley
6988  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 100 Powerful people from Blockchain on: February 12, 2018, 07:24:27 PM
I can't believe John McAfee is on that list. He's a nutjob who spends most of his time trying to pump nearly dead coins. I shudder to think how many guillible people have followed his tips and lost loads of money as a result. People like him are a cancer in the crypto space.

The data comes from Klout.com the OP didn't "collected" the list himself. Klout score is based on several factors if you have a website, the social signal sent etc. So if you have a large follower base and active with an account related to  Food, if you start posting about Blockchain you will be on the list as well

With a more realistic ranking factor, John McAfee is ranking for
McAfee
Antivirus software
Fintech
Internet security
6989  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Looking for Good Bitcoin Desktop Wallet -- Better if it is Staking if one exits on: February 12, 2018, 06:42:48 PM
Staking is for cryptocurrencies with POS (proof of stake) algorithm. Bitcoin is using POW (proof-of-work) protocol. You will hear about staking only with altcoins. There are some using "forging" or "harvesting" but you only get the transaction fees.

6991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Some statistics about Bitcoin Ethereum Litecoin on Twitter on: February 12, 2018, 05:55:35 PM
As I like statistics because it usually gives a great overview, I wanted to share this one that can be interesting.

Since 2014, on average 20,000 tweets were posted daily about Bitcoin, until April 2017 and then about 75,000 tweets per day. As you can guess, December was very hot with over 150,000 tweets sent in just 24 hours

I compared with Ethereum: and it's not able to do just 30% of what Bitcoin did, the most were in October 2017 with over 26,000 tweets sent.
Until January 2017 it had on average 1500 tweets per day and since there are on average 20,000 tweets daily.

Litecoin is not able to have more than 30,000 tweets per day which happened in December 2017, other than that it gets on average 500 tweets per day

What does it mean? Nothing special, just the fact Bitcoin is the most famous and so the king! Vires in Numeris
but added with this article Social media plays a vital role in the cryptocurrency https://coinpedia.org/news/mcafee-crypto-survey-on-twitter

6993  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fork wars are déjà vu on: February 11, 2018, 05:54:32 PM
Namecoin was the first fork if I am not wrong. But the "troubles" started with Mike Hearn (and Gavin Andresen?) and XT. Considering all the forks, only Btrash is cancer. The problem is, unlike others, they spend a lot of energy to confuse people and to push Btrash
6994  Other / Meta / Re: Wanting Merit in your quality post is treated as a CRIME ?? on: February 11, 2018, 04:56:25 PM
To be honest, if you feel you give so much effort to post in the forum it means you are not doing it naturally and you're "forcing" yourself to comment. Don't try to write a useful post to improve the quality of our forum, it's not the purpose. Try to post your comments in topics you're interested in, interacting with the community etc. Keep in mind it's a forum community, not a blog.

If you post to write at the end " if you like this , just commend me a MERIT point , it will boost my passion to research more." You will get the opposite result

Don't you have a dev to develop a website? The majority of your site is cloned from Zencash https://zensystem.io/
Similar structure, similar design, similar domain name
6996  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where You Can Buy Cigarettes Online With Bitcoin on: February 11, 2018, 02:12:40 PM
I have been buying cigarettes online at stogieworld.us you can use bitcoin or moneypak. I personally use bitcoin, the cigarettes get here in just a few days, and come with a tracking number! They also have free shipping worldwide, I live in Alaska and the prices here are crazy but now I only pay fifty two dollars for a carton of Marlboros.

I will never buy cigarettes on the internet, 99.9% of the time it's counterfeit cigarettes and if you knew what is in you wouldn't smoke them either.
I doubt you have been buying cigarettes there but rather you're operating this website...

The site is ugly, it looks like someone created it in hurry. The products have no description. The boxes don't even have the original design.
The "About" page tells that the site is in operation since 2010, but the domain was created in 2017. it also says that the site is THE market leader in discount cigarettes in The USA LOL

You may find cartons of Marlboro Red and Marlbor Gold for even less than $45 here: https://www.dutyfree.io/
It's a very reputed, old cigarette selling service since April 2009, as well merged their business with Bitcoins later on.

The website is out of business since last year.

John Mcafee has placed a bet that bitcoin will reach 1 million by 2020, what are your thoughts is this possible?

This guy is often drunk and I bet sometimes on drugs. He says a lot of sh*ts here and there. Lately, he was spreading a rumor on Twitter about a hack which was not true. I think this guy is out of mind sometimes or completely lost.
If it turns to be true then PM I will donate 1 million USD to the charity of your choice.
6998  Other / Meta / Re: It's time for more "report to moderator" stats! on: February 10, 2018, 10:28:06 PM
This is really a thing? There's a competition about who reports the most abuse posts?

A friendly competition, yes.  It's a good thing as the mods can't be everywhere at once.  Smiley

I don't see it as a "friendly competition" I see it as a punishment for wasting my time  Tongue. Most of my reports are about threads in a wrong section or users copy-pasting. I hate wasting my time reading posts that I have already read on another website, or reading spam topics on a pump and dump telegram channel.

The only board I don't report is my local board, it's not moderated at all, the guy doesn't care much (he post once per month or less, last time was to say oh I see the merits system Cheesy Cheesy) He only waits the members to report and as no one report, no one moderate (members got tired to report for nothing and seeing the guy is inactive) To give you an exemple, you go to the dev section and you find a topic about how to find a bounty campaign LOL. Bitcoin section is mixed with altcoin, members introduction and so on...

We can't always put the spoon in the mouth if he doesn't make an effort
6999  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Most cryptocurrencies will crash to zero on: February 10, 2018, 10:15:01 PM

He said "most" crypto, he didn't mention bitcoin.

Ok, I missed to consider this part, but there is no need to be a banker to know most cryptocurrencies won't survive... Just look at the name used for some, I mean seriously who is going to trust the project in the long run. Everyone wants to make his own cryptos but add nothing new to the table, or not so much...
7000  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Most cryptocurrencies will crash to zero on: February 10, 2018, 04:18:51 PM
But Goldman Sachs invested itself in a Bitcoin-related company.
I don't know who on earth thinking Cryptocurrencies will crash to zero, would invest in a Bitcoin company
