Since my build is for rendering purposes then I think it's my time to gain profit in my rig.  Wink
I have my 2nd rig with a specs of;

AMD Ryzen 5 2600 and only a 1050 Ti Oc single + 8 GB Ram;

Do you think it's enough for me to do the rendering process? I just have a little idea that I should add more RAM like 8gb 4x 3200 MHz for multitasking.

edited; but the problem is 1GPU only gains 0.50 USD. I think i will consume more elec. before gaining huge income. It's better to have multiple GPUs for great income. Or maybe, 1 GPU and the 6 core cpu might have a possibilty to add more atleast 0.25usd. Any recommendation to the pro's?

You got it all wrong bud. Leonardo isn't for users with less than 50 GPUs. I will recommend you to go through the whole thread again. If you are having trouble understanding the thread/English then please stick to your local section. Cuz this post was pure garbage and an attempt to bump your signature posts. Talk with Zapo and see if you guys can figure something out. Else you will look like a spammer and may get blacklisted by SMAS.

We are currently working on a proposal for smaller miners. I think we can find a happy medium for everybody.

Alrighty...

Quote
But as of right now we have yet to see a project that has successfully produced renderings whilst combining GPUs not within the same network.

Golem is trying to do this. They have already achieved this for the CPUs. Currently, they are working to support Nvidia GPUs. So you do have a competitor in Golem. Guess whoever will achieve it first will be the market leader in the future.

"AI" is an overused buzzword that makes some (most?) people think it's going to be a drop-in replacement for a human. It's not. I will be shocked if in 5 decades we are able to develop machine learning to the level of a 3-year-old toddler. More likely though it will continue to be narrowly specialized, such as self-driving cars that may work reasonably well during daytime on well-marked roads in a well-mapped area with good wireless signal. There will still be plenty of humans doing the road marking and mapping and all that stuff.

Now look 5 decades back and I'm sure you'll find many jobs that no longer exist and probably even more jobs that were "invented" in that time period. Things change.

Agreed but these AIs can specialize in anything. Just take this Dota 2 AI bot as an example. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92tn67YDXg0

This bot took only 6 weeks to train and it beat the Dota 2 Defending champion. Dota 2 is clearly not a toddler's game. Plus they have already accomplished to make them work together... Check this out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaBYhLttETw

Next decade or two will be revolutionary in terms of AI Automation.

People have been saying we're going to run out of jobs for decades, I truly think it's going to take more time than this.

Indeed the problem being, Most of the automation done in the last 5 decades or so was of mechanical "muscles", this time its different. We are talking about mechanical "minds". I will ask you to watch the video I mentioned above. It will explain what i am talking about.
704  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should UBI Replace all Welfare Systems? on: August 16, 2018, 07:02:40 PM
UBI has to be implemented because of rhe rise of robots and automation, if the rich people don't agree there will be mass riots and revolution.

Automation has been going on for decades if not centuries and there won't be an abrupt change but rather a gradual shift from stupid menial jobs that machines can do to jobs that humans are still better at. I don't think we will run out jobs in the next few hundred years just like we won't run out of people complaining that they can't make money doing what they learned 30 years ago.

But this time it's different tho. Would recommend you to watch this 15-minute gem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Pq-S557XQU

We will actually run out of most jobs in the next 5 decades thanks to AI and immutable databases (Blockchain).

Each computer can run a portion of the rendering, installing 2 times the 3D software (one on each computer), then each computer runs a piece of the task that the user has to assemble together somehow. ( not ideal at all for designers )

What if You want both GPUs ( in 2 separated computers ) work on the same frame? How do You  combine them together?
If You know a solution that can solve this problem i'll be more than happy to try it. But for what we know, there's none, unfortunately.

This is quite innovative indeed.

Quote
Our solution can allocate nearly infinite number of GPUs and work on a single frame. This is GPU virtualization. In order to work, all the GPUs must be wired inside the same network.

Why tho? What is stopping Leonardo to work with other GPUs outside of the network? Also, Isn't the internet one big network of computers? Plus you didn't mention what your plans are for the smaller miners.

Architects, Illustrators, Product designers, animators, Gaming Companies, Events Producers, Light Designers, Engineers, Car Producers, Boat Producers, Advertising Agencies

Indeed these are your "potential" clients. How are you going to promote this? or to be more "Precise" Break the norm? Most Animators are patient enough to sit out the rendering time Cheesy

Quote
ah, one more thing. about CPU precision.

Ask Tesla why the use GPU in self driving cars instead of CPU.

Cuz its uses AI, not rendering Tongue And AI performs better on GPUs.
706  Other / Meta / Re: Community generated suggestions to improve the forum (+ eventual voting on them) on: August 16, 2018, 06:07:50 PM
I have a couple of suggestions that I would like to make.

1) Allow users to see the boards/Sections where most merit is given, In the "Merit Stats" page. From what I have noticed in the past couple of weeks is that more posts in "Meta" get merited as compared to other section. I will suggest this thing to BPIP too.

2) If the case made above is true, Then I suggest assigning a merit source to different boards/sections. This will ensure that people making "Quality" Post elsewhere get merited too.

Imagine a user who is posting quality content in his/her local section but they haven't been seen by a merit source. They will not receive the merit they deserve. An average user can send only a handful amount of merit. What I propose is to assign merit sources just like moderators to different boards/sections to make the distribution of merit even.

Would like to hear the thoughts of the community on this.
707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia announces GeForce RTX 2080 on: August 16, 2018, 04:42:32 PM
The "numbers" have started to come in. This is from a Chinese Listing. RTX series will feature GDDR6 memory. I dunno how the GDDR6 memory will play with the current miners. Looks like it will be a challenge for the developers to modify their miners to work with the new memory type. I Believe we will see more performance boost mods Like "EthLargement Pill" once the cards have been released. The Power consumption is also on the upper side IMO, could have been lower. From the looks of it, These cards won't be "mining" monsters in any way.

Addition of this rule
Quote
Posts will have to be a minimum of 150 characters.

I strongly disagree with this

A post with 150 characters may be useless shitpost. But a post with 10 characters or none and one image may be very useful.

If you make this rule everyone will be writing bullshit to get the minimum.

I suggest
"Unsubstantial posts or repetitive useless posts will not be paid"

I think you are confusing words with "Characters". But I do agree with you on a post being "Shit". A single image can be quite useful and can be worth many words. I believe a post shouldn't be judged on how many characters or words it has, But rather on the "value" it adds to the post. I know this will only increase the workload on the managers but it will help the forum in the long run. Just my 2 cents.

Payment Received! Thank you Zapo! As for the changes you made, I think they are fair enough But 5 posts in altcoin board section are fine IMO. "Mining Altcoin" section is almost spam free and you can find plenty of users who need help.
710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia announces GeForce RTX 2080 on: August 16, 2018, 10:09:29 AM
Nvidia could of not picked a worst time to announce this GPU.

Is it tho? What if there is a bull run like last year at the end of September? The release dates align perfectly with the previous years bull run.

Nvidia is playing this smart. They are preying on the speculators and they may be able to trap a few in the coming days. Expect a lot of random figures being thrown around in the coming days. It will be all part of the hype train they are trying to build.

Quote
Because you gotta keep in mind that nobody will buy this GPU when they can just get 2* 1080Ti for cheaper which is more powerful.

30% performance boost isn't significant, seeing it will have the $1000 Price Tag. The only thing I am interested in is the power consumption by the New RTX Series. 30% performance boost at current consumption would be a nice and a welcoming bump IMO.
711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Rig access to the internet on: August 16, 2018, 09:03:44 AM

I have 10 mining rigs on my mining room. One of them has internet problem.
I see there is internet network and i can surf the web without any problem. But the miner software shows no internet connection from time to time.

I use Windows 10 x64 Pro Lite and SRB Miner 1.65
The rig has 11500 h/s with 12 x RX570 4GB. My avarage hashrate is 8100 h/s because of internet connection problem.
The other rigs has no problem. Only this one. I installed a fresh Windows but no solution.

Are you on wifi or ethernet? I need more details to help ya out. Try uploading some screenshots if you can.

Our solution is to split and distribute only in local network single rendering task among hundreds of GPU.

That's your problem there are 3rd party plugins available which do the exact same thing? what is the "Innovation" here? A true innovation would have been if you could have distributed the divided tasks across the internet. But that isn't the case. What are your plans for small miners? What if a miner who has 10K GPUs buys this plugin and get clients on his own? He wouldn't have to go through the trouble of exchanging tokens or staking any. This is one of the reasons you should start working on "Global" Version instead of just sticking with a "Local" Version.

Quote
Our software allows to run other tasks, while miner is not rendering. Mining is great example of such a task, it can be closed and restarted at any time. So miners can't earn less with Leonardo, they can only increase their income due to higher rendering profitability vs mining.

Alright.

Quote
We are not sure where this $11K comes from but thisd is the answer:

Seriously? It says on your infographic. Here let me point that out.

Pixar may be moving, but there are still many tasks which can only be performed by a CPU, Rendering is not mining. GPUs currently can't meet the "precision" which CPUs are able to achieve. Hence why we haven't seen a total shift towards GPUs for rendering. As I said in my previous post. Only a handful of effects can be rendered via GPUs. CPUs are still here and they will be here for a decade more.
714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining VS Rendering on: August 13, 2018, 04:45:44 PM
This is the first time i came across the word rendering. So what is Rendering actually?
If I understand correctly in simple words rendering is the process of creating photorealistic images from 2D or 3D models. Today rendering is used in animation, film production, construction and architecture, surgery and dentistry, etc. But is it really so far, if it is so in demand, that there are no worthy companies rendering rendering? What is the advantage of Leonardo?

Basically none right now! They are just another ICO trying to grab money. Unless they manage to land every single AAA animation studio out there to use their "Revolutionary" app for rendering. Most of the GPUs listed on the software will be sitting idle. Plus it doesn't make any sense to me why Any AAA Animation studio would use them in the first place. If they are going to pay $11,000 for an hour of rendering. Imagine the Scene of "Frozen (Castle Scene) " which took 72 hours to render will cost them $792,000. Also, keep in mind There are some effects which only CPUs can compute. So this "rendering" will be only effective for scenes which take advantage of GPUs mostly.

Plus they have failed to respond to my previous question, which makes me believe they are here to just grab the money.

- Why do you need a high ranked account? If I was in your place, I would start afresh with a newly created account.
- Getting your account hacked honestly is your own fault, you can't go around whining how unmanaged the staff is.
- There are 100's of accounts waiting to get recovered, why you should be treated any differently?
- I understand it's frustrating but can't help it. Just go with the flow.

Instead of typing all this. You could have just said "FUCK YOU!!! You are not getting your account back!". It's basically the same thing you said in those 4 lines. Being in OP shoes, I got my account after 3 months if I remember correctly. Also, I went above and beyond than just signing a message. I provided chat logs with the user who had access to my account for a while and so on. In the meantime, I had to work from an Alt Account. I was lucky back then as there was less of a competition in the services section and I got a few orders. I remember spamming hilarious on many occasions but he was always calm and responded to me reassuring that I will get the account back.

Quote
Is he? He barely responds to me at all. I don't want him to get annoyed at me for constantly messaging him either. I managed to get a list of the top reporters for Bitcoin Discussion from him last week so we can give that board a dedicated mod, but no response after that. How long does it take to implement a mod? A few clicks probably. I've been suggesting there needs to be at least one there for years and still nothing. Simple things just don't get done and the forum becomes exponentially more spammy and less usable/readable as time goes on.

Wow! Have you ever felt theymos has this inability to make a decision? From the looks of your statement, the signs are there.

Quote
Maybe it is time to move on, abandon this titanic. Migrate to other existing platform or create a new one. The captain is blind and deaf, we could leave him sink or maybe kick him / replace / putsch.. Perhaps hiring a hacker to hack his account too... I don't know something different than sitting here doing nothing.

Bad idea!

Who's going to spam users with the bot?

I dunno, Could have been one of the bot accounts, who's entire purpose would have been to send out the messages. But "Who" doesn't even matter now, as there is no way to list the newly registered users.

Just my 2 cents. Using unity3d for a game like this is a bad idea. You should have developed this as a native web app. Hence why you are suffering from these poor loading times. Due to Unity's Limitations, your "graphics" also look terrible and don't scale properly. You have a good idea here. I would recommend you to get a proper team behind this and re-launch this at a later date as a pure web app. Good luck.

Edit:

it doesn't allow to copy paste and enter your password

It's because of Unity3d's and Chrome's "security" implementations. They don't allow anything to be copied from the clipboard to their game.

@Zapo, can you please reduce the posts required to be posted in Altcoin sections? I find it really difficult to post anything constructive anywhere out there, and I just feel it would make me look like a spammer if I just jump into a Mega Spam Thread and write something without any proper reasoning.
So maybe make them 2 or 3 posts a week in that section, so that the one's that are not actually very active in those boards be more comfortable. (?)

I kinda agree, But I would suggest you to look again at the altcoin section. There are still a few boards which are free from spammers, fortunately. Cheesy

I do love to suggest also if someone not yet suggest this thing:

Like on Reddit or Gmail, after creating an account an auto mail will be coming to your inbox as welcoming letter and list of things to do when you made your account and you log-in with it.
IIRC, "hilariousandco" made a similar suggestion (I couldn't find the exact post [to link it as reference]) and I think, it's useful enough (to be implemented).

Yes, one is badly needed. Theymos agreed to one being implemented here. I'll contact him again about it soon.

Can the mods view the list of newly registered users? If so a simple bot can be coded to blast out messages to the new members till theymos gets the time to implement this officially. Just my 2 cents.
