7001  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why did satoshi develop bitcoin in windows? on: February 10, 2018, 04:02:34 PM
Have you thought the reason could also be that he used windows to help the adoption? If he used something else, people would say "ahhh again something for geeks"

as windows is very user friendly , not like linux command base very techie , he wanted to to be used by every common man.

You maybe have never tried GNU/Linux, because the time when everything was done in a terminal is gone since decades. You can do almost everything with a GUI and now some OS are more "friendly" to use than Windows OS. I can customize a Linux OS you won't really be able to make a difference with Win 7

It works fine, but sometimes the forum takes a long time to load the images or doesn't show any image at all
I added a link to the image, for users not able to see an image from time to time.
sorry
7004  Economy / Speculation / Vizualizing All Horific Bitcoin crahes on: February 09, 2018, 08:20:30 PM
I find this chart interesting to debunk people who are recently saying the Bitcoin golden age is over...
As I said before, the current situation we see these past days is not the first one and maybe not the last one...
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DVnfBQgUMAEYEbo.jpg
While it can surprising for people who are not used to see this, in the chart we can see this situation happened several times before, (up to 90%). Notice it happened as short as 2-3 days and 1-month max about
The definition (for me) of a crash is when then the value lost at least 20%. But a crash doesn't mean the end. Maybe it will take more time to come back to what it was 1 -2 month(s) ago but this is fine to me.

7007  Economy / Economics / Re: Private Coins from banks and governments on: February 08, 2018, 05:11:48 PM
They are free to create their own blockchain, some are already starting to add to their system such as Credit Agricole experiencing Ripple solution.
Some have a patent running like Chase or JP Morgan; don't remember, with a crypto-based on Ethereum. But they would do it not to lure people because they can't name it Bitcoin or any other name having already be used with an altcoin. They would rather use to save money on costs, operating faster, securely or any other advantages using the cryptography/Blockchain/cryptocurrencies

Well if you ask on my government , their answer is no because they forbid bitcoin usage although they still not make any regulation yet.
It means that I can still use bitcoin but with my own risk !

Maybe for other country, bitcoin become a new technology that being wanted so it possible to happen in the future !

A government can ban to use Bitcoin it doesn't mean a bank can't create its own blockchain and use it for its customers
7008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: binance exchange scam warrning on: February 08, 2018, 04:54:53 PM
first binance has no location nor any info so they ain't regulated by anybody but them...  second they use bots their own bots which keeps buying selling faster than any body that's why it lags so much when traffic are buying or selling ...third their colors pink and green to make u more nervous to make you rush into wrong decisions....and fourth they let pump groups to use their exchange freely once you buy your trapped ......i would recommend anybody who doesn't wana lose his wealth in a day to stay away from this exchange its a casino not an exchange ...fake u cant even tell if the volume is true or not ....

for people who gona say they aint no prove and the list goes on

1) It's not the first and not the last with no location available to the public
2) Hello, have you ever hear about High Trading Frequency (HTF)
3) In psychology pink is less aggressive than red (red mean hot, danger it belongs to the "hot" colors, blue at the contrary blue belong to "cold" colors
4) If you're nervous you can order Xanax to your doctor
5) pumps groups are in every exchange platforms

Hope that answer your arguments.
7009  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Account locked for no reason on Cryptopia on: February 08, 2018, 02:29:55 PM
I don't see how it can useful to them to lock accounts randomly. Unless a user is abusing their system they don't have any reason. I tried after reading this thread and my account is fine.
I advise you to contact them here or on Twitter, it may be a bug or something like this
7010  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where can I buy Ethereum with Fiat money? (Not Coinbase) on: February 08, 2018, 02:14:01 PM
What about using an exchange like Kraken, Bitstamp, and others? Can't you? What payment method are you looking to use to buy your ETH?
Or is the problem about getting giving your personal information to get verified?
There is the marketplace here that you can take a look at, it may help you.
7011  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Google trends alerts on: February 08, 2018, 02:04:31 PM
It's an interesting tool to use, but not alone. It should be used as additional information collected to take a decision and notice a trend.
By the way, can I ask you how are you getting the alerts through your email? Because looking on the website I don't see how to get it (and I am interested in using it)
7012  Other / Meta / Re: Merit reactions for New Members: Why Merit & sMerit is a forum failure on: February 08, 2018, 10:39:15 AM
Not again a topic about Merits ?  Huh

What the fuck are you complaining about? Merits are the new black. The old boy's club love to parade their big dicks by showering merits on merit topics. Sheeesh, get with the program.

I am not going to argue with someone who can't use a decent language, sorry
I don't want to go down to the same low level of education as your.

Today is the day Roger Ver was supposed to participate in the Alex Jones show (oh well, the perfect audience to spread your conspiracy theories and lies if you ask me) After waiting patiently, it turned finally to be another lie from him.
This guy is out of mind...
7016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help me Doing a Public Speech about Bitcoin for my school. on: February 07, 2018, 10:24:05 PM
I have almost build a structure for you. it's an organized argumentation exercise, usually and ideally, in three parts (an introduction, a development, and a conclusion)
Take a pen and a sheet and write down by answering these questions, then read, correct, structure and memorize
bingo! you will be considered as THE scholar-researcher scientific on the bitcoin topic in your school.

7017  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dropping again like a stone on: February 07, 2018, 04:54:46 PM
This is too much now.  For a few hours it was up and up.  And now down down down.  I was hoping for the sake of people who have bought in it would be a good price for them to sell and make a profit in a while.  But no  now down again.  What I think is this.  People have bought and paid money in.  And Then whales have come along and taken the lot.  It's wrong.

There are a few things to consider here:

1) The demand from people seeking information about Bitcoin dropped. Keep in mind it doesn' mean Bitcoin is dead, it means the hype about Bitcoin is faded

2) The same situation happened before, and more than 1 time

3) The cryptocurrencies market is not the only market to crash
Losses in 24H Dow $300 billion Google $40 billion 500 richest people $114 billio

4) The mainstream media and the average Joe who don't understand the news and spread information spun (aka fake news, lies, misinterpretations) intentionally or not...

7018  Economy / Economics / Re: Centralisation vs. decentralisation in society and the role of the blockchain on: February 07, 2018, 03:27:30 PM

In Switzerland, there is a government of course, but when they want to introduce a new law, regulation, etc, do you know what they do? A referendum and every citizen is welcome to give their vote on a particular proposal to say yes or no. They have a referendum on almost anything.
So a society without a "Power is in the hands of a few" is possible, but if the citizens don't really care then there is not much to do

BTW, I just finished to read the article on futurism.com posted in the OP, it's a very good article to read.

That is called "liquid democracy" and I am a strong supporter. During my short spell into politics (just wanted to make a difference) I was really advocating this system. The only problem is that in our country people are mainly criticizing everything so there is a danger that it would put a break on all progress. But I believe it would change if Government showed some good moves. Also, I don't see any harm in trying if the current system is not showing good results.

By the way, a little off-topic, I always admired Switzerland for being neutral and saying "screw you" to all that war-hunger human stupidities.

Would you mind sending me a link to the article, I wasn't able to find it?

Thanks, I didn't know about a "liquid democracy" I checked it on Wikipedia.
I am confused, I am not sure what link article you're asking. I was referring to the link you posted https://futurism.com/sponsored-how-centralization-paralyzing-society/

I am not Swiss but I learned about Switzerland's system by watching a documentary about the economy there. I couldn't imagine such system is still possible lol. I was so surprised that I watched the documentary 3 times. The politic and economy is awesome there, it has surely some weakness but every country has some. When it's about foreign affairs policy and international relations the country is very smart.
If you notice you never hear about the country involved in shady practices, behaviors, etc... "Mind your business" works very well for this country lol

7020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK Banking Giant Lloyds Bank Ban Bitcoin Purchases on Credit Cards on: February 07, 2018, 02:39:09 PM
I am not sure how the credit card system works in these countries that are banning bitcoin purchases but people are saying they can not buy stocks, bonds, mutual funds with credit cards either. oh and here is a reference:
https://www.creditcards.com/credit-card-news/10-things-credit-cards-wont-easily-buy-1267.php

so why is not being able to buy bitcoin with some credit cards now  a big deal?!!

Because 18% of people are using a credit card to buy bitcoin. (I am referring to credit cards with borrowed money, not debit cards) and this is not negligible. Another thing is the fact it happens suddenly without warning while people were using this method for quite some time now.

It's not the countries that are baning but the banks and credits cards. The company Discover also started to block the payments to buy cryptos
