721  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 25, 2019, 09:52:31 PM

Data is physical. Prove me wrong.

A better argument would probably focus on the durability of data rather than physicality of data, (particularly the private key and any other data that is needed to access and spend the unspent outputs.) We've all been around enough to know what happens to people that lose this particular data. Yes, the data of the unspent outputs still reside on every stored copy of the blockchain, but that means fuck all if don't have the data you need to spend them.

Which reinforces the argument of the physical quality of Bitcoin. It doesn't mean Bitcoin is not ALSO virtual... but wipe all the physical copies of the blockchain and it's gone.

I suppose you can also etch your private keys/seeds/passwords on a couple of stone slabs. That would be pretty durable.
722  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Do you think wallets will require KYC in the future? on: March 25, 2019, 09:44:55 PM
I wouldn't be surprised if they require KYC in all on hot wallets but impossible for hardware wallets It supposedly uses as a personal wallet and they shouldn't ask for KYC.

It wouldn't be impossible for a hardware wallet vendor to start requiring KYC. Bitmain already requires someone to give them KYC just to purchase miners direct from them. At least with the miners, you could work around this by buying second hand. However, buying a hardware wallet second hand is not advisable.

@OP: In the event that you "get hit by a bus", how would the lender be able to recoup his loaned ammount?

Chances are the lender would be SOL in such a case. (I suppose one could try to file a claim against the estate in probate. However, this would be very difficult to pull off. Especially if you live in a different jurisdiction from the decedent.) However, that small risk would be involved in any unsecured loan. The main factors to consider are already listed in the OPs trust page comments. If someone feels after taking these factors into consideration that the op is worth the risk, that's up to the lender. I certainly wouldn't.  But then again, I am a broke bitch.  Cheesy
725  Other / Meta / Re: How do you know if the account is sold or not after it was advertised for sale? on: March 25, 2019, 07:34:57 PM

Asking someone to pay a valid debt owed and saying nonpayment will result in a lawsuit for the debt is not extortion.

Yes, if such an act was considered blackmail aka extortion, I would have been jailed long ago. However, I'm sure that many of the debtors that I have dealt with over the years probably think that I ought to be in jail for living up to my promise when they did not pay. Cheesy

You may regret posting this Wink

I quoted this... "person" here a while ago and it resulted in a major derailment. BTW Meta doesn't allow self-mod hence local rules.

Well, Joel did qualify that he didn't think it was a "shitpost." Perhaps CH will let this one slide. He has so many other people to go after... Unless Joel starts responding to him, and disagrees, he should be OK. We shall see.
727  Other / Meta / Re: [Updated March 23] LoyceV's Trust list viewer on: March 25, 2019, 03:51:49 PM
A few people have deleted their entire list. I also noticed some of the ▄▀▄ REMOVE LAUDA FROM DT ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ LIST UPDATED 2/5/19 ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀ fans gave up, after H8bussesNbicycles seems to have left the forum: peloso removed his entire Trust list, and Thule made his own personal choices now.

Yes, it appears that I am now an official trust list backstabber. Thule has me on trusted on his list and I have him distrusted on mine. I should be ashamed of myself.

728  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: XIO (Espacio Project) - SCAM - FAKE TEAM on: March 25, 2019, 03:07:29 PM
ok, man. Changed to photos of real people who helps me with idea.

Too little, too late. I agree with ICOEthics assessment of your modifications. I don't believe these are real people either. Also, the names that you picked for your fake team/consultants is so common, I bet there are 20 people for each of those names in the city that I happen to live.  Roll Eyes

Good Job OP for finding this scam - They uploaded new images - but didnt replace the name - they know they are fake. They just want to play with you and test your scam finder skills.

729  Other / Meta / Re: 2 members most likely the same people spamming the forum on: March 25, 2019, 02:53:25 AM
I checked the threads and each thread appears to be selling different products. So this is allowed. They are also allowed to bump each thread once every 24 hours, which they appear to be in compliance.
730  Other / Meta / Re: Why My bounty Work Report got Deleted? on: March 25, 2019, 02:41:32 AM
I'm just curious. Are these bounty reports even required? Can't the bounty campaign manager make sure that you are making the required posts on twitter/facebook?
731  Economy / Reputation / Re: marcotheminer - con[fidence] man on: March 25, 2019, 12:55:26 AM
This recent vouch that marcotheminer made in a lending thread is highly suspect. If you check the transaction, and follow the inputs and the outputs, it appears the payment was probably sent from an exchange address to another exchange address. Does anyone have some additional thoughts on this?

Hello! I am new here, but I can provide multiple social media accounts for verification. I have a decent following so I'm not someone who can just disappear with your coins.  Wink

Do you have proofs of this loan? Maybe the transactions that you both made?

Proof, proof, proof, proof, proof... Take my word. I lent her the following for 40% repayment.

732  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: GoCoin Masternode-SCAM-PLAGIARIZED WHITEPAPER on: March 24, 2019, 05:43:08 PM
Did you check if there is any partnership with DeepCloud AI ?
That's the first thing I thought, but you'd think that someone reading a whitepaper would have caught a link between the two before opening a scam accusation thread--and it looks like he didn't, so there probably isn't.

Is it me or has there been way more of these threads being started or bumped in the past few days than usual?  It still baffles me how these ICO scammers think they're going to get away with copy/pasting material from another project's paper.  And yet they're obviously still doing it.  I've asked this before, but are these projects actually getting any money from suckers?

It probably takes them a day or two to put this all together. Also, it could have just been a package they bought from someone who can pump these shitcoins out in a matter of an hour or two. This particular coin isn't really an ICO. It has a premine and a masternode sale. They are probably hoping they can lure in some bored hobby miners. when the hobby miner finds that they cannot mine enough coins fast enough to get a masternode, then they can get their sale. These projects probably only need to make a few masternode sales to make it worth their while. Also, if they can score an exchange listing, they can just dump their premine/masternode proceeds.

Edit: After looking at this particular shitcoin further, I strongly suspect they bought a package. The quark algo is pretty uninteresting. If they did buy this as a package, it's probably money down the toilet for them.

I suspect the "Simon Duncan" photo is a porno star too. I was going to go looking, but then it occurred to me that my partner is close by and would probably kill me.  Cheesy
735  Economy / Reputation / Re: marcotheminer on: March 23, 2019, 09:39:46 PM
This is a pretty good argument to not go in 'guns blazing' tagging every sold account because, according to threads I have seen in Auctions, both email addresses and private keys are being sold with accounts, making it very difficult, if not impossible to tell when an account has changed hands.

Maybe we should start asking suspect accounts to fund the private key and leave it there for a week.  Cheesy
I don't think there is any basis for telling people they must hold money in bitcoin in order to maintain their reputation.

Well, I can't wait for the day that someone buys an account with a private key and then the seller recovers their account back, leaving the buyer high and dry.  The seller may even get lucky and be able to recover the e-mail account too.Cheesy

It's happened to me with collateral. The user had "his account stolen", that's probable but it's also probable he just claimed that.

Well, if the debtor ended up paying paid the loan, then (s)he was probably truthful. However, if they didn't pay, then I'd consider it equivalent to "the dog ate my homework" excuse.

NO LONGER SEEKING LOANS (1Month)

I received the expected 0.3BTC, so that's a month of income right there.

Well, it appears that plan changed. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5123782.0
739  Other / Meta / Re: [RUIN THE FUN] Possible April Fools Ideas Of Theymos on: March 23, 2019, 02:27:18 AM
theymos will say:
"I have good news for you all bitcointalkers.
Today, I decided to give away all my donated bitcoin that need ages to hit current amount.
It is a fortune, but I made my decision to give them away, because I will fully live rest of my life as a minimalist.
Anyone have enough trust point, skills, experience, and been here for ages, please contact me to take over the administrator role from me when accepted.
I will start my new life, without bitcointalk.org, without bitcoin, without crypto, when all these mentioned give-aways finished"

Actually, Theymos is thinking about having some coins made for the 10th anniversary and giving them away. No joke. I don't think they will be loaded with all of the donated BTC, however.

anyway time for my tennis, then massage, I have a bad hand  and typing all this is not making it any better.

I'm going to drastically reduce my posting from now on. I have tried to help this board expel these scammers infesting the systems of control but I will not spend more than 15 mins per day on here from now on. Except on special occasions. I feel it will all collapse into chaos eventually anyway. Selfish greedy people can only collude successfully for so long. I almost feel by creating a common enemy (my good self) that I am indeed helping them hold it together. It may be time for a change of tactics.

It appears CH must have taken some ibuprofen, today. Or is it a special occasion?
