721  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S7 Setup [HD] on: December 05, 2015, 07:30:27 PM
If I was to buy the S7, I would definitely have a problem with the noise. I've been looking online to see if there are any solutions and it appears as if there are two options: get new fans, or soundproof the room it's in. The fan alternative seems like a much easier thing to proceed with and I was wondering if you could answer a few questions...

1) What kind of connector does the fan use?
2) Do you recommend a particular fan that could get the sound level to a significantly lower amount?

1) I don't know what the industry standard name is, but its a 4 pin used for PWM controlled server fans.
2) There isn't really a suitable replacement for S7s which produces a significant improvement, at normal ambient temperatures. You can run them hotter (manual fan speed) though.
722  Other / Meta / Re: [Proposal] New "Ancient" ranking / higher than Legendary on: December 05, 2015, 03:03:22 PM
Why don't we just stop pretending its called activity and call it "how old your account is"? Post count or actual activity has nothing to do with the rating any more and most people have 2-10x their "activity" score in posts.
723  Other / Meta / Re: Should Fwdxwlsh Be Banned? on: December 04, 2015, 12:45:14 PM
Ban him already, like you would anyone else. He's rebumped this thread 20x now, in far, far more regular intervals than 24 hours. Last was 11pm my local, now again 11am. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1263542.msg13142669#new
724  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive SpondooliesTech SP30 Setup [HD] on: December 04, 2015, 11:26:37 AM
i have problems with my sp30, i bought it recently used but the event log shows alot of errors, one of them is LOOP 9 failed, and other things, i will copy the event and you can see...

i dont understand nothing there please help what do i need

So chips 21 and 27 is causing problems which makes all the chips on loop 9 misbehave. Go to ASIC control, disable chip 27 and see if you still have problems. If you do, its probably a controller issue.
725  Other / Meta / Re: Is Theymos anonymous? on: December 03, 2015, 01:26:46 PM
Trade Fortress actually doxxed Theymos.
Not quite, AFAIK he just compiled info which was publicly available.

He attempted to post to where in the blockchain Theymos' dox is. It didn't allow him to post an autobanned him instead. But doxes are allowed Roll Eyes
726  Other / Meta / Re: Is Theymos anonymous? on: December 03, 2015, 09:52:27 AM

Has Theymos (the person who runs this forum) ever revealed any personal info about himself? Do we know his name, where he lives, etc? Is the real person behind the Theymos handle an active member of the community apart from on this forum and on reddit?

Gavin Andresen follows him on twitter.  One tweet.  Come on Michael, some more effort would be nice https://twitter.com/theymos
who is the one guy He is following ? @Simpsonsvault , I doubt it is an imposter made it in 2012.

It was a Simpsons streamer.
727  Other / Meta / Re: Should Fwdxwlsh Be Banned? on: December 02, 2015, 10:03:57 PM
Yes he should. He is repeatedly deleting and reposting the last post in multiple threads he controls in order to rebump it. He reposts the exact same message before relocking the thread. The threads are shitposts to begin with, its just spam.
728  Other / Meta / Re: [Proposal] New "Ancient" ranking / higher than Legendary on: December 01, 2015, 11:14:58 PM
Legendary already takes several years to obtain. I feel like this is enough. Maybe if I someday start to see that there's some decently-sized subset of Legendary members who are "noticeably more veteran", then another rank would be appropriate.

I'd rather see a rework of the high level ranks. The required levels of posting are almost non existent so at the moment its simply a "who has the oldest account" game. For example, Legendary requires ~1000 posts over 1000 days....
729  Other / Meta / Re: Evil score visualization on: November 30, 2015, 04:07:40 PM
For reference, I got pretty close to outputting results but couldn't find a way to reverse the 12th order Hilbert curve in excel. There is some code to do it here but I'm unsure how to get that usable.
730  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S7 Setup [HD] on: November 30, 2015, 09:02:01 AM
But on to my question: What do you think about the new Batch 6 and Batch 8 miners, with the giant Buck Converter on it? What's the reason for this, and how might it affect efficiency and stability?

I have not seen it, sorry.
731  Other / Meta / Re: VOD should be removed from default trust for systematic abuse of his position on: November 30, 2015, 08:59:56 AM
If anything Vod should be given moderator status so he can help clear out the scamtards.

Scams aren't moderated though, so that's not needed.
732  Other / Meta / Re: Direct link on: November 29, 2015, 12:44:01 PM
All of my traffic looks like that from bitcointalk, don't know why.
733  Other / Meta / Re: Should there be a limit to how many times you can post a day? on: November 28, 2015, 07:21:19 PM
stupidest decision ever, it's just like limiting how much sex can you have while you are doing it
I had to agree with this. Kiss
OP, is there a reason why you want this to be implemented, other than to reduce the amount of spam?
I never said that. Read my third post in this thread. I'll make it bold if you want.

That is your third post in this thread.
734  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Butterflylabs Huge SCAM on: November 28, 2015, 10:14:38 AM
how many years will BFL executives spend in prison? Zero

If Sonny, at least, doesn't go back in the slammer for his shenanigans while at Butterfly Labs, then the entire legal system will have failed us IMO. (get ready to be disappointed)

A lot more of the BFL staff deserve prison time, but my gut is telling me this settlement is going to be totally softball with the Butterfly Labs management getting away without penalties. (our guts are in agreement)

I would love to be wrong and have the opportunity to send some post-cards to Josh Zerlan in jail. (more likely he'll be sending us postcards from Aruba I'm afraid :/)
I keep all my useless BFL hardware in plain site as a constant reminder to never spend BTC on asic pre-orders.

The industry will never support preorders again, I hope my work over the last 2 years has contributed to that.
735  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you believe Hariom is Quickseller on a secondary account? on: November 28, 2015, 10:12:39 AM
Hariom also attempted to edit his post to make it look like he isn't trying to defend Quickseller. I have captured the thread just in case he was going to. I didn't believe I was going to have to post it though, considering the fact that somebody quoted his post in that thread. There are several other threads where he tries to defend Quickseller, but I'm not about to capture each and every thread because it is a lot. I have decided to capture the only thread that I believe genuinely captured the flaw in him trying to defend Quickseller consistently.

You keep repeating this all over the place, that people (including me) are editing their posts when.... they're not? The post in question does not have a "last edit time" and so hasn't be changed since the initial grace period.
736  Other / Meta / Re: Should there be a limit to how many times you can post a day? on: November 28, 2015, 12:37:09 AM
Can you stop posting controversial shitthreads then locking them when they don't go your way.

Woof, this is the real "dogie" from bitcointalk.org. Whomever had registered the account "dogie" on bitcoin.com previously was not me. The account "dogie_bot" on bitcoin.com, probably won't get used if I can retain the "dogie" account on bitcoin.com. 2015/11/27.
738  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S7 Setup [HD] on: November 27, 2015, 11:01:45 AM
Its working, however this damn thing stops hashing every few hours and needs to be restarted

Are you able to connect when it stops mining?
739  Other / Meta / Re: Ban appeal - TradeFortress; re theymos dox on: November 27, 2015, 10:55:42 AM
I still don't follow what you are saying. Nothing I said was incorrect. You are arguing that you shouldn't have been auto banned for posting a link that you knew caused you to be autobanned?

*edit* Bringing this over to this thread for context

{ self moved to a new thread }

@SaltySpitoon: I disagree. That's not what happened in my case. You gave relatively specific directions to where you believed theymos's dox could be found, because you seemed to believe that people have posted his dox w/o real consequence. I gave relatively specific directions to where theymos' dox could be found to correct your information, with the impression that what you posted was OK.

Neither of these circumstances involved trolling, or posting it for the purposes to annoy someone. This is looking like theymos is indiscriminately banning people, excessively I would say, in order to assert his power and prevent his dox from being disseminated -- not for moderation principles of trolling, spam, et al.

Excuse me, could I ask is there a auto ban system on the forum? and how it works?

It is theorised / claimed that attempting posting the link in the blockchain where someone put theymos's dox, or posting his phone number ends in an autoban for 3 months.
740  Economy / Reputation / Re: For Vod and Tomatocage - PLS remove my Neg. Trust on: November 26, 2015, 12:06:40 PM
You made one post since then so I don't think they will remove it but you'll have to ask them directly.
