You can complain all you like about me being a treasurer "with a wife" as I guess you'd prefer all treasurers should have no wife (maybe @theymos should have stated that you are not allowed to be married to be a "treasurer" for this forum).

"Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come."

Not everyone on this forum supports *haters*.

No one supports haters. What we do support is 1 rule for all. We've all been attacked by similar posts in the past, me included by seriouscoin. That doesn't give us the right to try and swivel what power we have over others to get a different rule applied.
1462  Other / Meta / Re: 50 BTC from the forum now frozen due to lack of moderation on: June 08, 2015, 03:50:37 PM
I just had a thought, can we confirm this isn't a hacked account first? CIYAM are you able to sign an address please?

[Ps if those posts are deemed deleteable, you might as well nuke seriouscoin's account because its all like that]
1463  Other / Meta / Re: 50 BTC from the forum now frozen due to lack of moderation on: June 08, 2015, 03:34:19 PM
If you think it is fine that the forum should just allows insults of everyone's partners then please start insulting the mods partners as clearly that should be okay.
Yes that is okay, the forum's policy does not prevent personal attacks.

Generally the OP does sound like extortion though, and claiming another party is aggrieving you doesn't give you the right to pass that extortion down the chain.

Then come and talk to my wife who is so angry she won't even talk to me.
Its your responsibility to talk to your wife, not the forum's however you still have a responsibility to the forum and the funds you are holding.

For sure you are not going to do that even if I give you her QQ - so don't give me bullshit unless you are prepared to actually do something.
Haha sure I'll talk to your wife if we're on the right time zones.
1464  Other / Meta / Re: 50 BTC from the forum now frozen due to lack of moderation on: June 08, 2015, 03:30:08 PM
It looks like the offending person is seriouscoin who is apparently a shill for whoever is leading the smear campaign against dogie.

It also appears that his signature contains the dox of someone else that he does not like (posting a name, phone number and claim of homosexuality is a pretty good indication of this).

He's not a shill, just someone with a lot of hate for pretty much everyone. There are swathes of pages of posts where every post is a single sentence insult at people. Of his 3000 posts at least 1000 are terrible. I made a very quick summary post of some examples specifically directed at me, but could be in the meta or scam thread.

Generally the OP does sound like extortion though, and claiming another party is aggrieving you doesn't give you the right to pass that extortion down the chain.
1465  Other / Meta / Re: Anonymous Moderation is cowardly. on: June 08, 2015, 02:04:43 PM
Why is it then so many make their accusations ( petty or legitimate ) in Meta and so forth under throw away accounts? If we are demanding Mods be completely transparent, why aren't members held to the same standards? It would actually lend more credibility to those making accusations to post from their main account.

Because many of them are hippocrates and only want transparency when it suits them.

 LOL

You have my word as a gentleman that none of them are Hippocrates!  Did you mean hypocrites?

No, its a joke.

OFF TOPIC:
For someone who continually cries about off topic posts, marking your own post off topic doesn't make it any less off topic.

Both are listed as confirming very soon, just be patient. And stuff like this should be posted here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=4.0

Seems BitcoinDistributor changed the title of the OP/thread?

In the end, AntMiner was shipping all used, refurbs as new hardware out. I don't think I would order again unless it actually specified it was NEW, unused hardware. And then to pay the price $340 that it has been for a couple of months still. Should be $150.

While you're at it, can we all buy your $100 notes for $30?
1471  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.319/GH & 0.51W/GH on: June 06, 2015, 10:09:24 AM
overclocking c1... what voltage can i go up to before im redlining? where does it become unsafe?

While no amount of overclocking is safe, I personally wouldn't go above 72-740. You shouldn't really need to bump voltage to overclock though, you'll cap out the chips before any additional voltage will help.
1472  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S4 Setup [HD] on: June 06, 2015, 10:07:16 AM
Not in warranty as far as I know - where can I buy  a new PSU - direct from them?

Yes, its on Bitmaintech.com. Do check that you have the PCI-E version of S4 though, as the PSU is PCI-E based and NOT spade connector based like many S4s out there.

If it is the other type of connector it's worth throwing a ticket or email t words Bitmain Support.   Ask if they have a replacement PSU you can buy.   If they do that will save you from some modding.

Here is one way to reach them: https://bitmain.zendesk.com/hc/en-us

Hi thanks for the info

Am in communication with them right now - asked me to send the unit back to Denver - but am in the UK - maybe cheaper to buy new one - will see

That's unlikely Tongue You should be able to send it for ~£20. https://www.parcel2go.com/quotes?col=219&dest=217&p=1~3|20|30|20#/results
1473  Other / Meta / Re: Satoshi's IP address(es)? on: June 06, 2015, 09:34:51 AM
Well he's not Japanese, that we can pretty sure of.
His P2PFoundation profile says:

Satoshi Nakamoto
40, Male
Japan

Which doesn't make him Japanese...

Well he's not Japanese, that we can pretty sure of.
On what are you basing that assertion?
There are plenty of clues but I'll point you towards one. The original client was written in English, and Satoshi actively sought translators to help expand it. Japanese came quite late and required a 3rd party to do the translation. This was still pretty early on and early enough that its unlikely he was playing any triple bluff moves to conceal and plan an exit.
1476  Other / Meta / Re: Satoshi's IP address(es)? on: June 05, 2015, 08:50:32 PM
TBH I've actually never looked and don't plan to. I don't know if the IP's are still logged/displayed or not.
Maybe the very early stuff was pre logs or before things were set up to today's standards. The later stuff he would undoubtedly have been tor'ing.

For what purpose are you interested in obtaining Satoshi's IP addresses?
I'd like to know if he was residing in Japan or elsewhere, but perhaps he was using Tor.
Well he's not Japanese, that we can pretty sure of.
1477  Other / Meta / Re: Account - Banned - No reason on: June 05, 2015, 07:26:56 PM
Same like you few weeks ago, I got banned for seven days without reason, after one day it has stoped..Still dont know why, but it's not important for now.

You should still make an effort to find out why you were banned. You might not be aware or intending to break a rule but are still doing so. Knowing would help you prevent future infringements.
1478  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: June 05, 2015, 07:12:51 PM
Not sure if this has been discussed, I checked through many pages and did not see an answer, same here:
https://forum.bitmain.com/bbs/topics/1753
If there is a power failure to the S4, is there a way to have it automatically turn back on when power is supplied again, without having to hold down the button on the back?

You could do like M's antmonitor and say if it goes under so much hash tell it to restart.    But soft reset does not always fix hard reset problems.

Also you have to leave a computer open to moniter it with this program.  It's worth taking a shot of looking at though.

With a power failure, M's antmonitor will not help as the machine will not turn back on unless you hold the button on the back of the PSU for 3-5 seconds.
The SP20 and S5 do not have this issue, it is unique to the S4 PSU.

If anyone else is looking for this, the answer is no. There hasn't been one report of a workable solution. Its part of the reason that the new PSU both auto-ons and has remote restart functionality.
1479  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are Badbear and Theymos college buddies? Are they wingmen for one another? on: June 05, 2015, 05:58:29 PM
They both seem young

The entire industry is young.
1480  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S4 Setup [HD] on: June 05, 2015, 05:47:26 PM
Thank you for your suggestions. I replaced the front fans with SP120 PWM fans, but the miner is still loud as hell.
Is there a chance to replace the fans on the back as well? Are there suggestions for more quiet fans?

Not really, no. Its not a great design for cooling efficiency and so has to rely on high airflow to get the job done. S4s do have some headroom but not enough to have a significant impact.

Hi All Have been running my S4 at 2T/H happily since March. Just yesterday it shut down and will not restart - just get the flashing red light at the back indicating a fault and amber light on. Was not aware of it operating above 60deg.Any suggestions where to start when I open it up as I assume I will have to do. thanks
PSU is dead, nothing we can do. RMA it if its still in the 3 month warranty by contacting bitmain.zendesk.com or replace it yourself.
