1342  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S4+ issues on: July 02, 2015, 04:17:03 PM
To run anything "Scary warm." just sounds like heat might be a issue

He's saying the power CABLE is hot. Probably running the wrong gauge mains cable and eventually starting the S4+ out until it crashes / the PSU decides to call it quits.

How does one become a reseller? I am assuming there is a minimum order that must be placed in order to get the "reseller" status?

The quoted list is very old, I don't think there even is a reseller programme any more due to consistent supply from bitmaintech.com now.
1344  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S4 Setup [HD] on: July 01, 2015, 08:42:11 PM
Got back in touch with the service guys who says it is  overheating protection - has been unusually hot in UK recently. But they cannot tell me how to reset the PSU as against company policy. Anyone know about this and how to reset the PSU?
The reset is probably just letting it sit for x amount of time, although how long that is we don't really know. There is likely something wrong with your setup which is causing this as I tested S4+s up to 45C ambient I think it was and the PSU was fine.

1345  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5 loses connection - Burns itself to death on: July 01, 2015, 08:39:38 PM
Bitmain support emailed me with a link for a firmware they are currently putting through internal testing

Same on S4+ firmware, I have a copy but its not been tested extensively yet.
1346  Other / Meta / Re: Is it useful to publicly state password changes on accounts? on: July 01, 2015, 11:55:09 AM
So what are your thoughts? Is it a good thing to show that the password was changed lately?

Yes. Changing the system to aid people to sell accounts is not a good idea, nor is selling accounts in the first place.
1347  Other / Meta / Re: Legendary people here on: July 01, 2015, 11:29:17 AM
I'm about a quarter of the way through the random period, but still up to 6 months to wait. Its a bit silly this random 9 months and don't think its needed.
1348  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.319/GH & 0.51W/GH on: June 30, 2015, 09:34:11 PM
AFAIK it's my problem if my custom's decide to charge me such a tax. But they can do it only if shipping cost of the package being importing to Russian Federation (where I am living in btw  Cheesy ) exceeds 1000 EUR. Recently I received 2 S5s without any taxes (and for 340 USD for each).
Are you shipping it to Russia?

I can not be select a ship method...

On mine it allowed me to pick.  I love it.  Now it's letting me pick between UPS, Fedex, and DHL.    (shipping is to US )
Select alternate address / new address then back to your current one, it should provide options again.
1349  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BadBear , Theymos help !! on: June 30, 2015, 05:15:49 PM

1350  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: AMT Miners and Joshua Zipkin on: June 30, 2015, 05:14:30 PM

Picture from that conference and the one from this thread are from different people.
I don't get it even, why would he even show up at the conference if he is avoiding trial and evading legal process ?

Edit: Yup picture from this thread is from Andre Douglas (https://www.pinterest.com/dastrungf/andre-douglas/)
If he was indeed using it, it's a really low move from him to snatch a random picture from someone like that.

cheers

I don't understand the reason to include a known scammer as a speaker into this conference. Are organizators newbies?

Pretty sure you end up paying as a "sponsor" to talk about your business.
1351  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: June 30, 2015, 04:48:04 PM
I've had a couple of PM's from others saying they've had the same but both have been paid out for their store credit so hopefully they will do the same for me. $134.50 may not be much to them but its a considerable amount of money to me. Not only that I could have earned more in the same time had I signed up to a different campaign but like their equipment so wanted to promote it.

I was in contact with Barbara before Gadi so this has actually been going on for about 6-8 weeks now.

in my extensive experience with SP-T i found Guy & Gadi to maintain the most integrity.

others, considerably less so.

i wish you luck in your efforts, though i can say it might be like getting blood from a stone (so to speak)

Thanks edgar, I think you could be right.

Had this email today:

Quote
Your contribution to our sales effort is well appreciated.
We will continue to update regarding our future offering as soon as we can.
Thank you for your patience,
Gadi

And this is after many repeated requests for a cash refund as there is no hardware available to redeem my commission against and probably never will be. I'm just being fobbed off, it's disappointing to say the least especially from a big company like them.

Its a shame, I'm owed at least 400x more than you and still also $0 from them.
1352  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New mining hardware for july on: June 30, 2015, 01:07:46 PM
still no specs for something that is supposed to be released next month?

Same as always, announcement goes up when batch is ready to sell. Same with S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S4+.
1353  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer U3 Setup [HD] on: June 30, 2015, 01:04:02 PM
I needed to set my bat file to:
cgminer.exe -o solo.antpool.com:3333 -u userid_X -p 123

Instead of
cgminer.exe -o stratum.antpool.com:3333 -u userid_X -p 123

I was wondering what is the difference?
They should both work, AntPool has many servers with different names and port numbers. That is unless something has changed recently and that address has stopped.

I'm not looking to overclock but I'm guessing this command is for that purpose right or something else?
It depends what (and who's) version of cgminer you're running. If what you have works then stick with it.
1354  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S4 Setup [HD] on: June 30, 2015, 01:01:35 PM
***There is currently a firmware issue that prevents the S4 achieving its full hash rate on pools with variable difficulty.
Until a new firmware is issued, its recommended that you use BTCGuild or GHash IO with 2048 difficulty manually set

Is this still the case? Or is there a newer firmware available now without this issue?

I am going to take a look at one of my S4's later today that runs for 5-10min and drops to about 200GH/s - 20GH/s and (presumably) its not an overheating issue (from info reported on the config page) it's not a power issue (I have another S4 that runs just fine and I shut it off and tried this one in its place) and no XXX's reported for the boards themselves. Also potentially relevant I'm currently mining on Eligius.

Thanks!

Yes its still the case, its a limitation of the controller that means its likely to crash (or get stuck at low hashrate) on a vardiff pool. Eligius is a vardiff pool so that would explain it.

1356  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S4+ Setup [HD] on: June 30, 2015, 12:59:13 PM

That's 20150518 which isn't the stock firmware. It should work but we're not exactly sure what the changelog is over stock.
1357  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: June 29, 2015, 12:27:43 PM
Slightly off topic here but has anyone else had problems being paid from their affiliate program (which has been removed recently)? Not sure if this is the right place or if I need to start a new topic somewhere.

Contact Gadi for specifics but the tldr is there isn't currently a plan how to pay anyone. They'll argue its store credit but there is currently no store, products or plans to have products [for sale to the public].
1358  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF100-the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner gets into mass production on: June 28, 2015, 01:14:52 PM
S6 was skipped / replaced by S4+, next is S7.

Any details about what it will look like? Specs?

No, its up to them to release details (which I also don't know). Sorry for the OT, I just wanted to clear up the "where is the S6" question = you had it, but it was called the S4+.
1359  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF100-the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner gets into mass production on: June 27, 2015, 07:28:32 PM
Bitmaintech would most likely crush them by bringing out the s-6  or the s-7.

S6 was skipped / replaced by S4+, next is S7.

4) your pool is constantly at 100% luck for the day (BIG IF).

Out of all the variables, that should be the one which remains the most stable.
