With that total income I make a forecast of expenses that includes donations and money for leisure where I can buy dinner or drinks. This is how I do it.

wow it's nice to hear that your plans include donating to charities when you win gambling, sometimes it's good to share it with others especially those who really need it and of course you should really want it and not be forced to. What you mentioned is one of the good intentions because it shows how much you think about and appreciate all the income you got from gambling, just don't forget to treat yourself because all in all, you are the one who made the way to earn the money you have.
722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silly and scary questions, and what would you do if that were you. on: February 05, 2024, 11:39:35 AM
I became worried and found it difficult to answer after my friend asked me scary and ridiculous questions about Bitcoin ownership.
he asked. If friends, new acquaintances, or other people find out that you have a sizable amount of Bitcoin, and you don't tell them. Then you are kidnapped with several people covering their faces, with the aim of getting your wallet address with the risk that if you don't give it you will be killed.
And another reason, you have given your wallet address to members you trust, such as family members or your wife and children.

And I want to know, what are you going to do.
Aren't you going to give the bad guy your wallet address, and you let him get killed. However, your Bitcoins remain safe because you have given your wallet address to someone you trust.
Or you will give it away because you still want to live, and you don't have any more Bitcoins.

And it was just a casual conversation with a friend of mine who both owns Bitcoin, and I was just wondering what other people's answers to this dreaded question made me want to create a thread.

This is where you will learn how important privacy is, the kind that you don't let even small details know or don't give out a hint that you have a bitcoin holding, especially on social media, because there are many people behind the accounts who are spying in the actions and movements of people on their accounts. Let's go back to your question OP, if I'm in the situation and my life is at stake, I still can't decide whether to fight or just let the kidnappers get my wallet add...I don't know what to do either but maybe the initial action I will take is to give the wallet add though I don't have much bitcoin on that wallet. My life is more important to me because I know that the money will come back to me in a triple amount of what I lose.

723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does BTC mean to you? on: February 05, 2024, 11:15:09 AM
Hello, Everyone

I'll keep this short.

What does BTC mean to you?

Some may say freedom others  say hope in a world of restriction, love to hear your responses.

What BTC means to me? it means a Financial freedom and wealth opportunity. This is one of the most important investments that I have, I know and I believe that the value of bitcoin will be even more successful in the coming years. I hope that one day, BTC will help me to achieve all my plans, but of course we still have to work hard to have it. BTC opens a lot of opportunities to many investors and traders.
724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling addiction lead to domestic violence? on: February 05, 2024, 10:49:07 AM
Can gambling addiction lead to domestic violence ? Yes, of course
Is gambling addiction the reason of domestic violence? Yes and now. If a person isnt able to control his emotions, anything that makes him stressed or angry can lead to violence. With gambling chances of it to happen is high only because in gambling such person can quickly get a serious of negative emotions.
What should people around him do about ? Definitely not to ban or pause gambling. Such person can get angry because of that. What needs to do is to make him visit psychologist.

Many players have normal thoughts and emotions before they gamble, but later become aggressive when they start gambling. They have developed the hot-headedness even in small things and what's worse is that they gets angry at the people around them. I used to think it was inborn that they have such behavior where they become aggressive and always angry, but later on, I found out that it is actually possible to develop changes in a person depending on their lifestyle and current situation. If gambling leads to domestic violence, it means that a gambler is in the worst condition and needs help from medical professionals to provide a solution on how to be calm and composed.
725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Management on: February 05, 2024, 10:22:08 AM
I often run out of funds due to gambling that is too blind in terms of placing $$ on every bet I make and ends up losing. I do multi-bets and single-bets, every time I win, sometimes I forget myself and use all my $$ on the next bet. This sometimes gives me big wins, but if I'm unlucky I can lose all my funds and this has happened many times.

I started to realize and change my habits. Now I use $$ from the profits from the previous bet to place the next bet and save my initial capital.

What do you think, is this good and can help me overcome losses that will occur so that $$ remains safe and can be used in future betting? Are there other unique ways that you can use to grow your money in gambling? feel free to comment. Thanks

Just continue with the strategy that you're doing now because that's what I do most when I gamble  to avoid losing and scraping a lot of money and it is effective. One of the things I've learned in order to slow down the successive withdrawals of money, I choose to stick to the capital amount I have and I need to stretch out and think how I can grow that money, and once I win, the amount that I earned is what I will use again in the next gambling session while the initial capital that I used is already saved and secured. It seems that I will just keep all the winning amount that I receive without taking money out of my pocket.
726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pay off DEBT by do Gambling? think again before you loss more on: February 05, 2024, 09:58:20 AM
It is only applicable when all of a sudden and you've won. But if you are on your right mind and you think that you can gamble and win and then pay off your debts through winning, I don't think that it is ever going to work and a good idea. We are gamblers and we need to do better than that. People make fun of us because of the mistakes that we've been doing and even we've got problems already to take, we should do the right decisions and don't create ourselves something that they can notice and have fun of.

The gambler was in the big debt can use this option to cover all the debt using the gambling site. But their was a risk in this way of the gambling, because the money for the game will be the loan money again. The gambling was the two side coin, So the gambler also win and make free from the debts. They also added the loan if the again loss in the gambling site. In order to avoid of the second option, the gambler should learn the game. Because making the game profit is not easy one in the gambling site. The gambler don’t look for the entertainment or fun at this point. The full aim of the gambler is making huge profits in gambling site.

The society has lots of wrong view on gamblers, due to the behavior of other gamblers who can't control their gambling habit. One funny thing is that one gambler's behavior is used against every other gambler in the world. Because these people don't know much about gambling, they generalize the fact that gamblers can be careless with their money. A gambler who has decided to pay off his loans using his gambling wins, is not doing the right thing, he's actually not on the good gambling track. As such mistakes could lead to more troubles, if he ends up not winning the game. How would he generate money to settle for the previous debt he's owing and the money he just lost. Isn't it a thing of embarrassment for the person, if he's not financially conscious about his decisions.

By the way, what you've mentioned is true, that's why many other people thinks that gambling is not a good activity because of other irresponsible gamblers where they don't know the right way to handle their money and winnings. OP's statement is one  example of a gambler who has a wrong mindset, that you will gamble to pay off debts which is not the right thing to do.
If you are thinking of another way even though you know that it is difficult to do, it is better that you do that first before you go to what you think, which is wrong and should not be done because you are only putting yourself more to a bigger problem.
727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another Two Category Of Gamblers That We Are Not Aware Of on: February 05, 2024, 09:33:09 AM
Is it possible to not have a characteristic that’s not specific to just one category? I mean something in between?

Because for me, there are certain habits that I exhibit that does not fall entirely into one category - seems like mid-way between action gambler and Escape gambler so I’d like to know if there’s any other person who feel the same way as I do.

Same mate! I don't know in which category should I fall because I have some characteristics from both category and it seems like many of us are having the same thoughts?  But I'm much more into Action gambler and I know to myself that I need to become a responsible gambler and I need to stick on what I've planned and started. I won't lie to say that I only gamble to enjoy and have fun, of course I somehow expect to win so that I can have money that I can use to treat myself or my family, but I don't rely on gambling as the only source of income because I have a stable job.

and back to the question kung meron kakilala? wala ako natatandaan though merong mga kilala akong till now kumikita pero nag wowork pa din sila.

729  Economy / Economics / Re: Quitting Smoking Has Two Big Benefits. on: February 04, 2024, 09:46:37 AM
Smoking does not only kill yourself and others through smoke but you are also killing your purse. 😅 Cigarette here in my country is quiet high in price per pack due to huge taxation. Instead of spending you hard earned or extra money on cigarettes it would be better if you save it so you can buy assets in the future like Bitcoin, precious metals, or real estate if it is sufficient enough for those specific investments.

That's true! here in our country, the price of cigarettes has been raised a lot, but even if the price has increased, it will not stop smokers from buying it because their body is used to it and is looking for cigarettes. They also can't just stop smoking because as far as I know there is a right way to stop smoking and it can't be done suddenly because it will especially affect a person's health, there is no choice even if cigarettes are expensive, it is included in the budget of the people.

That's right, I think indeed the price of cigarettes may continue to rise and even if the price continues to rise but for active smokers I think they will still try to buy it, because as you said for people who are used to it then they will not be able to stop, even if they cannot buy cigarettes that have become their favorite I think they will still buy cigarettes that are below the price of their favorite cigarettes because for heavy smokers they will not be able to stop smoking.

Yes that's right, for active smokers or heavy smokers they will not be able to stop just like that let alone totally because if they are heavy smokers then I don't think they will be able to stop smoking, if they still feel fine with being active smokers then they will not stop, because in my opinion it is also their own enjoyment.

there are a few who really want to quit because they can no longer afford the price of cigarettes. However,  E-cigarettes suddenly became popular in our country or better known as vape, I don't know if everyone's here is faniliar with that. They were too convinced that vape has no harmful effects compared to to normal cigarettes, But the truth is they have the same effect and nothing changes, it can really harm a people's heath and when it comes to price, disposable E-cigarettes are too expensive rather than the normal one. So it's like nothing, people just spend more and at the same time continue to destroy their health because of vape.

Then I can just add to what you said: there are some people who tried to quit but didn't succeed, and they have a hard time quitting this habit. I talked to someone I know who has a smoking habit, and he said he tried to stop it just because after a few days, he couldn't stop smoking.

I asked why. and his answer was that his taste was looking for the cigarette that he himself said he couldn't resist. Then he said that he might die from cigarettes, and I told him that you will actually die from cigarettes and that his reward for you is lung disease that can really kill you. So just go shopping. I told him whether to stop or not.

Well that's true, and upon research, the sudden cessation of smoking is more dangerous and deadly, so it is better that you first consult with doctors so that they can give you advice on what is the right way to quit or what is called smoking withdrawal treatment and method because there were smokers who experienced difficulty in breathing when they suddenly stopped smoking, their body was looking for the cigarette as if their system did not want to function when they could not use it, I also saw the same symptoms with my cousin where she almost went into cardiac arrest.
730  Economy / Economics / Re: strange indicators to know economy is bad on: February 04, 2024, 08:30:10 AM

People are going into survival mode now, because high inflation and lower wages are killing the consumer. The middle class are suffering the most, because they are carrying the majority of the tax burden and they get no support from the government. (Rich people feel the pinch, but they have more leg room to still live a luxurious lifestyle.

That's right, and even those who have the means in life are experiencing a severe crisis in their lives today due to the constant increase in prices and expenses. Any country is actually experiencing inflation today. Shouldn't it be that when experiencing something like that, companies must also increase the wages of their workers so that what they are paid is balanced with what they spend every day. Nowadays, it's really necessary to be practical but it's up to you how you manage your money and income properly.

Enjoying life while young kahit enough lang ang ipin or ipon hard now then enjoy later once matanda na basta ensured na financially?

732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a generous gamblers on: February 04, 2024, 07:01:07 AM
No, in my case I am not. Sometimes I invite friends or family to something, a few beers for example, but because I feel like it that day, not because I've won, and even less do I consider doing it constantly every time I win as in the OP's example. If it were a large amount, thousands of dollars or more, like when you win a small prize in the lottery, yes, I would surely invite, but as an exceptional thing, as exceptional as the prize.

Well you have a point, sometimes It's better to keep in ourself that we won in gambling to avoid the demands of others who know. we know that it is a trend to ask for money from those who win in gambling. So, what if the prize you have won is not that big, then you will not be able to give money to other people.
733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If a addict lives within, which method would you choose to help them on: February 04, 2024, 06:07:25 AM
As a member of a family and there is a gambling addict within, which method do you think it's the best to rip off the addict from your family member?

1. Talk to them and don't leave their side for too long, show them some love and make sure they don't have anything to do with gambling ever again, be soft and gentle with them.

2. Be harsh about it, force them to quit, let them know that gambling isn't this safe, bounce on them all the time because you love them, don't go any soft on them, because been soft won't make them see reasons why it's bad to be a gambling addict.

Which do you think it's best? Some people do think that been soft and gentle will be more effective and some people think that been harder on them is the real love here, they need to make them stop by force.

What do you think?
if I'm in the situation and I have a relative who is experiencing gambling addiction, I would choose number 1 among the choices, because it will help more if we find out what that person is feeling and we must know what is the source of why they reach to the point of becoming addicted to gambling. It will help them think and feel better if we talk to them properly and give advice based on what their current situation is, because when we force someone to stop gambling, or we always scold them or being a nagger to them, they might just be more triggered to continue gambling because of the pressure and stress they will feel. so no matter what situation they are in, let's choose to be calm and understanding.

734  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone Calls My Child's Name Bitcoin. on: February 04, 2024, 04:29:13 AM
Well, it's a good thing that you've used your bitcoin in a useful way; it's proven that bitcoin really can help people who invest in it, and it's also a good thing that you're spreading awareness about bitcoin. Because they have you, if they want to invest, they have an instant guide that will guide them on what to do or not. The problem here is the blame. As you introduce bitcoin to them, I'm sure there are people that will invest in bitcoin without consulting you and might encounter a problem and, in the end, will blame you as you influence them, so you need to take measures about this problem and also your security. As many people know what you are doing, make sure that you will secure your assets, as I'm sure there will always be malicious people with malicious intent on you, especially on what you have.

That's one of the things you can share with others as proof that bitcoin has brought something good to your life, but maybe you should only choose the people you tell things about in your life, especially if it involves talking about money, so that to the privacy of you and your family. I mean, there is nothing wrong if you want to share the knowledge of bitcoin with other people, but you should also look at the situation, especially because it is said that bitcoin is not legal in the country, so if other people or your government find out about it, you might be harmed and even questioned.
735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You must have a source on: February 04, 2024, 03:07:56 AM
Having own source of income is essential if you extend yourself into bitcoin investment for long term. Without stable source of income, you will not be able to stretch out your patience longer especially if the current market condition demands you to hold more of your coins. With that, if you have a good source of stable income, that will be your advantage as you won’t resort into panicking and early selling of your coins if the market suddenly crash and leave bitcoin price dumping.

That's what I am thinking too, If you don't have a stable source of income and suddenly there is a problem when it comes to your finances, maybe what will happen is that you will just move your investment in crypto.so others advise that your savings must be separate from investment, and you cannot rely in only one source of income because it will be more difficult for you to manage your finances in case of problems and you will not have anything else to draw from, but your bitcoin investment only.
736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2 years old kids alone at home for hours, while the father goes gambling on: February 04, 2024, 12:32:39 AM
he deserves to be punished because of his very stupid behavior, it seems like the man is out of his mind, all that is on his mind is gambling, apart from that, he doesn't care even about his family, even when he gets punished, he won't necessarily repent, because it is very difficult for people who have gambling addiction to repent, this is an important lesson for all of us, please gamble if you have free time
He really deserves it because what sane parent would leave a 2 yr old child with no one at home? then he would lie when he was caught that he was just going to buy something, but the truth is that he had been gone for a long time, he left the children alone, during the time he was gone, it is possible that something bad would happen or that his children would have an accident because they are innocent and they didn't know what they are doing just in case accident may happen. So he really deserves to arrest so he could learn and not do it again, but if the symptoms of addiction are visible, it's not safe to let him take care of his own children.
737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your state on mind if your son stole your money to gamble? on: February 03, 2024, 11:52:49 PM
My friends aunty called him on the call while we were conversing today, and  she was complaining about how her son has withdrawn #20,000 approximately $15 from her account through mobile transfer to play bet and he lost it all.
She complained bitterly and pitifully because she struggled to safe such amount of money.

Now, the mum is calling on everyone she could to intervene, discipline the child and force him to provide the money in any means he can without the concern of how he could refund the money.

Question: would she be so disheartened and mad as this if the son had won the bet on a multi million price?
Dear fellows, let's assume you are the mom, what would be your state of mind on this context?

It is a human nature to let go of a simple error if the result outweighs the error a million times.  Obviously, the reason why the mother gets angry is because the son stole the money and lost it to gambling.  In your given question, since the kid can give back the stolen money with interest,  I am sure even stranger will forgive the kid and will receive the money with a smile.  Probably that stranger can even hug the kid that gives back the money with huge interest.  What more if you are the mother, for sure the kid will probably give you the whole winning amount.  So is there a reason to get angry in such a situation that you asked?
It depends on the parent's perspective. Perhaps you believe that stealing money is a forgivable offense, or you are the type of parent who is quick to forgive their child for such a mistake. However, it is not good to easily forgive a child for stealing money at a young age because it may lead them to believe that it is acceptable to do it again in the future, as they can easily avoid facing the consequences.

I'm not a parent yet, but if I ever have a child, I won't let him not learn while growing up, I can't just let him forgive immediately if he does something wrong especially that stealing thing because maybe until he grows up, he'll carry that kind of attitude with him because he thought that is correct. While they are young, they need to be scolded, reprimanded and taught the right things. We can't spoil a child if they done wrong. They need to learn in the most right way.
738  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a generous gamblers on: February 03, 2024, 11:26:29 PM

I just met a friend while playing in a lottery called Keno. He is a good gambler and sometimes hits jackpots. As a pensioner with grown children, he is a heavy bettor. I noticed that he is a generous gambler. He uses half of his winnings to treat friends, neighbors, and relatives every time he wins. He does this to invite good karma and since he acknowledges his gambling addiction, people who know him don't question him.

One of his friends asked him why he kept betting instead of saving so he would have something when he needed it.

His answer was straightforward,
Quote
'I am betting so when I win I can share half of my winnings with my friends and relatives who need money like you.
' I was surprised by his answer. His friends felt guilty for asking him. Some gamblers are that generous to avoid questions about their gambling activities and to continue gambling.

How about you? Are you generous and if so, why are you generous?

In my case, I am a little generous because winning is a blessing that should be shared. However, I will not make people feel guilty when I give an amount from my blessing.

I can say that I am a generous gambler too, because whenever I win, I prefer to be able to share my winnings especially with my family. I'm not picky when it comes to family, but when it comes to friends or acquaintances, I'm pretty strict about spending money when they're with me. My family's needs are more of a priority because I know they also need help from me, but I don't let them always rely on me, somehow I teach them how to properly manage their spending habits and manage finances so that when the time comes when I can no longer gamble and rarely win, they know how to earn money that is not from me.
