Well I decided I am leaving. I have had enough here too many problems for my liking and missing posts being unpaid still and underpaid on last payment. Missing around 20+ posts and have a payment from over a week ago still unpaid and missing. Once problems are resolved if you guys continue to do business and continue a smooth signature campaign I will come back however right now not my liking. Good luck and fairwel for now.

Great, can I take your spot? Grin
People have been leaving for a while, spots were never reopened. And if you want to join a sig campaign that doesnt pay at all... Well thats you xD

I know that looks weird, but I believe the campaign manager will solve all the problem and this sig campaign will be running normally again Wink

People have been saying that for 6 months now. And days ago he said it would be fixed for sure by X date. Its X date +2 days now. And people have been constantly shorted and not compensated repeatedly. Marco is way too busy to manage this;

Welp, so its been about a day past the 48 hours deadline. The payouts have still not been resolved. No replies/update, to be honest i'm tired of chasing down my pocket change every single week.

Its kind of annoying to have to post here because they are too busy to check/reply to PMs;

@marco/bitcoin boy;
Putting aside the constant issues in the last 6 months. I get you two are too busy to run this properly, after 2 months and many PMs of not paying me what was missed when we changed the bot, + 10-20% short on nearly all payouts since then.

I expect to at least get what i'm due for the last 2 weeks;

0.14BTC+~ left to be paid after the partial payment of 0.07BTC~ for 2.5 weeks of near maxed post rate + 0.02BTC.

Isn't there a way to turn off the safety heat shutdown?
If you feel comfortable doing that, it would be the simplest solution.

Did you like, read his post at all? He says he already did that and it work, but he is worried of causing damage to the miner over time. Its very possible.

765  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: New Miner - S7 / Antpool Configuration Question on: March 08, 2016, 03:25:36 AM
Hello!
I am brand new to mining and looking for some advice.  Everything looks good from the hardware side (I think), but I seem to be unable to find any clear guidance as to how to configure the miner, the pool and my bitcoin wallet.  One instruction says to set up 3 pools in Antpool - stratum 3333, vip 3333 and stratum 443.  Is this still applicable?  Would those be set up as different sub-accounts?  Also, I see in the dashboard where to enter my wallet address, but what goes in the Coinbase column?  Do I have to name my worker in the S7 GUI or will the pool assign a worker name?  Is specific naming convention required?
If anyone has a straightfoward guide to get an S7 and an Antpool account configured to communicate and make payments, I would be tremendously grateful for the assistance.
Thanks!!!

I really dont recommend mining at Antpool for multiple reasons. Check out "Kano.is" https://www.kano.is/. Thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.0

You can use whatever PPS pool you want for failover. And Solo CK pool is a popular choice as well.

You can name your miners however you want. At Kano it would be Yourusername.whatevernameyouwant. Or just Yourusername and password X(You are obligated to enter a password on the miner config on the Antminer but it can be anything). The username is for tracking the miners individually and as such is optional.

Pick a wallet. Personally i like Multi HD. Electrum come often recommended. Any SPV wallet strongly recommended.

In Kano setting you set payout to one of your address.
766  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S5 Miner Temperature Sensor issue on: March 08, 2016, 02:46:20 AM
Hi all,
I have an S5 that appears to have a quirky temp sensor or a really hot board. The temp is causing my miner to shut down when the temp crosses 80C which happens about 30 seconds into booting up. The temp readings are 53 and 80+ which I suspected was incorrect as the miner is sitting in a vented 50 degree room and for the last 10 months has never had a temp this high. I have other miners in the room and they've been running fine. When I turned off the "Stop running miner when temp is over 80C" option, the machine runs and holds the proper hashrate but the temp reads 90 degrees on one of the boards. While the miner technically works with this option off, the fan is cranking more than it should and the board may be hot as heck (assuming the reading is right). Either way, I'd greatly appreciate any help the community can provide in troubleshooting this.

Thanks in advance!

See if there's any lose screw, try to tighten but not too hard. What you'd need for this is a laser thermometer. With mine i was able to see where the heat was coming from and i figured out one screw was not tight and the chip was not touching the heatsink much.
767  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: new to bitcoin mining on: March 08, 2016, 12:53:42 AM
How do you link those bit coins to your wallet then, if they are in a self contained system? Also would it be better to actually do bitcoin farming or do the whole cloud thing?

No, the miners, they're plug and play. You set your payout address on the pool you decide to use. I can't really answer your question for a second time since you have disregarded my previous comment and still have not provided the needed information. Tongue
768  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: new to bitcoin mining on: March 07, 2016, 08:46:02 PM
So, I'm brand new to this whole bitcoin thing, and I wanted to make sure that if I'm going to start doing this I start doing it right, but I can't seem to figure out where to begin, what type of equipment to get, or how it even all works. Officially I'll probably start in July or August after saving up some money so I can ensure I can afford what I'll actually need. Any suggestions? What type of equipment, and programs, and stuff like that.

All the miners are self contained nowadays, you just need a power supply and an ethernet plug. And Nothing anyone can suggest you right now will still be valid in 4 months, especially with the huge unknown of the Bitcoin halving.

But anyways the one thing you always start with is your electricity rate. Thats your upkeep cost, without it, nothing can be recommended in the first place.

The other thing is your budget. Then lesser things are space, noise tolerance and heat tolerance.

Wait I think I exported my private key ages ago to a different wallet, does that mean I can save my money?

If you still have access to the original wallet, and the money is on the original addresses then maybe, if not, i doubt so. Future generated addresses have their own privkey and only HD wallets always generate the same ones.

Password is 14 char contains only numbers and letters, both upper and lower case, no real words, was a random generated string. Please help

How much money are we talking about? Because i think its gone. You wont be brute forcing 14 char password anytime soon.
Not masses but enough to make me mess up my house trying to find the password and to spend the evening trying to find some way to get around it

How much do you remember about the password? Assuming you have used it a couple of times you should know at least a few parts. ...and again which software? Brute force time vary greatly depending on the wallet software you use.

You cant bruteforce full random 14 characters long and i dont think any wallets use fake encryption. His best bet is finding the password. Next time get backups.

772  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How do they make those nice Sigs for sig campaign? on: March 07, 2016, 06:30:57 PM
As my experience making my own signature before i just copy some bbcodes from old signature codes but some of them is not working in any rank.
I tried put some codes in member account but result error but if i put it in full member to high its working..
I think the only way that you can do to make a signature is to collect the old signature from previous or old signature campaign thread..
And use this to change the collors of your signature http://absitomen.com/index.php?topic=331.0

I hope it helps..

I suppose just coloring it a dark color would stand out much more than plain text. But i'd need to be able to draw a logo as well.
773  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Sapphire R9 280x Vapor-X cards for sale Hurry good prices! on: March 07, 2016, 06:05:02 PM
Why did your account go a year without being used and then you pop up to sell graphics cards?

Your account looks like it has been sold in the past.  It also appears that you are involved in gambling, account sales and Ponzi schemes.

IF YOU PLAN ON BUYING FROM THE OP I WOULD RECOMMEND USING ESCROW -- I AM FAIRLY CERTAIN THE OP IS A SCAMMER.

NO PICTURES, NO ESCROW, BOUGHT ACCOUNT, PONZIs, etc

Well he accepted to use Escrow with me with USB risers, though he need to find them first. Tongue
774  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: privacy re: transactions on: March 07, 2016, 04:38:26 PM
Ok. So I just finished reading "Mastering Bitcoin". And I'm a little confused about transaction privacy.

I understand that I should always use a new bitcoin address every time that I receive or send bitcoin. I think I understand the reason: because if I pay my rent using the same bitcoin address that I use to receive my salary, my landlord could go to the blockchain and see how much money I receive into that address and thus change my rent accordingly.

But I'm a little confused as to how my landlord isn't able to know this even if I use a new bitcoin address.

When I send bitcoin to my landlord, my landlord can be confident that I'm not double spending some money because his wallet can trace back the origin of the of the money I sent and verify that it's not already been spent. As I understand it, the whole beauty of bitcoin is that anyone can trace back all transactions to the coinbase that created them to confirm that double spending hasn't occurred. This is one of the functions of being a node on the network.

Well if that's true, can't my landlord trace back the transaction chain one level deeper to see how much was sent to me? If I pay my landlord with bitcoin that came to me via my salary, then isn't my landlord going to be able to see my salary amount from the previous transaction in the chain?

Even if all new addresses are used in my next paycheck:

a) from my employer
b) to me
c) from me
d) to my landlord

Can't my landlord just simply trace back one transaction to see how I received that bitcoin, and then make some assumptions about my salary?

I must be missing something. Am I missing something?

First, that double spending crap is nonsense you're going way too back into this. You can't double spend BTC to pay your rent anyways. If you send him rent and then double spend him, he is simply not going to receive the BTC in the first place so it would be the same as not having paid rent at all.

Second. Yes, you will need to send the rent to a webwallet and later send it to your landlord, i assume there are high odds that the source will be obfuscated in the tons of TX's . It is possible even not being your BTC in the first place.

The other thing you can do is sell the BTC and pay him in Cash.

Thank you. Im sold.

One more thing can custom fan settings be used? This is most important to me

Yes everything is explained in the kb and the commented section in the conf. Here is an example from my own farm;

mem eb19aa 1250
fan eb19aa 85
776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Externally powered Asus R9 380X on: March 07, 2016, 03:00:40 PM
I'll re-iterate. For most GPU, it will try to draw up to 70w from the motherboard. The PCI-e pick up the rest of the consumption which can be up to 300W for some high end amd card, can go up to 575W i believe.

If the motherboard's PSU can really do 150W, this could work, but i don't know if its designed for this, if it can handle the draw etc.

Thanks for your replies. It's not a problem of draw as the PSU allows max 10A and even if those all those 70/75W were available for the GPU, it would only draw at 6.25A. The real problem is probably that those 85W @ 12V are not fully available for the GPU...I think there might not be enough for 70W even.

For this card the extra load drawn from the 2x6pin is 225W according to this review: https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/R9_380X_Strix/21.html

The exact details for end watt consumption depend on what algo you are mining as well. If you want to mine Ethereum, its going to be a bit under 200W i think. But the GPU may still try to draw 70W from the mobo.

Thank you.

Can this be used for pool mining ? Eg coinotron that uses their own proxy..

Im intrested but I only pool mine wuth a few hundred hash

Yes, the default out of the box setup is ready to mine at ethpool (i personally recommend this as it has the most fair pay for your hashrate) and dwarfpool. Also good but personally i prefer Ethpool. http://ethpool.org/

You flash the OS on a HDD or SSD(highly recommended). USB may very well be too slow. Boot it, access the .conf, put your addy in there and done. Then you can tweak and OC etc. Its pretty easy to do.

Here's the KB:

Digital purchase download link(with ref) to is in my sig; "gpuShack mining hardware". Calc and Freenode channel are there as useful ressources as well. Tongue

It can be digitally downloaded, yes. Come by the IRC for more information. Smiley
779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Externally powered Asus R9 380X on: March 07, 2016, 02:28:29 PM
Um, the problem is the pci-e lane you will plug the GPU typically try to draw up to 70 watts from it and that need to be powered by the motherboard. If your PSU is rated 70W and can actually do 70W, you're already using most of it with the CPU, fan and other minor components.

If you want to do this i think you would need to replace the motherboard's PSU.

The motherboard's PSU is rated 150W; the 3.3V and 5V can in combination draw up to 65W (second manual), thus the amount available to the 12V line should be 85W max (still at 10A max).

Edit: so you think the GPU will just not work correctly if it can't draw those 70W/75W from the tiny PSU available in there? I mean, it will not use the external PSU for extra power in such case?

I'll re-iterate. For most GPU, it will try to draw up to 70w from the motherboard. The PCI-e pick up the rest of the consumption which can be up to 300W for some high end amd card, can go up to 575W i believe.

If the motherboard's PSU can really do 150W, this could work, but i don't know if its designed for this, if it can handle the draw etc.
780  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Transaction fees on: March 07, 2016, 02:25:52 PM
Hey guys, wanted to know whether there is any point in considering a transaction fee to decide which transaction to mine?

If you're asking whether you can pick which transaction to include in a block you mine based on what the fee is per kB, the answer is yes and that is why low TX fee transaction wont get confirmed fast, normally.
