801  Economy / Collectibles / Re: NGC formally announces 250 Brass Cass Coins being Auctioned w/ Heritage Soon on: October 18, 2023, 04:59:05 PM
But a buyer's fee of 12.5% matters.

That's the price of moving the market into the mainstream, whether it's an artist being represented by an agent or gallery, any major auction house and even retail establishments, there will be added costs, the alternative is to sell items oneself ie on BTF, or just peel and destroy the artefacts, my decision was to go down the major auction house route with the increased exposure that their marketing, clout and collectors base will bring.

First off we'll done otoh.  This market always needed that movement.  But with a 12.5% vig, what are your realistic expectations on these.  Over the past several years these brass ones held small "over face" value?  I guess it's anyone's guess because a fiat whale with no way to know or realize the other avenues to get these or trust to get these might pay well over (which I hope for you and all of us).  Looking forward to see how this unfolds.  🙂
802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 17, 2023, 09:58:25 PM

This may not be of interest besides the name but Scottie Pippen Jr. has been waived by the Lakers. He wasn't able to make most of the opportunity given to him and I think the preseason game against the Bucks had a big role in the management's decision since he played quite poorly.

That's just the way it is, if you don't have something to put on the table, you are out because everyone has their own contribution to the team, and since the Lakers is a championship team, their standards are high. Therefore, he should really work hard because his competitors are not gonna miss some chance to prove their worth and they have been practicing a lot so when they are given a chance to showcase their talent, they execute it well and impress their team.

The caliber of players of the Lakers right now is top-notch, that's why even if you are in the roster, like Pippen Jr, he has to work hard to earn that spot in the team. Unfortunately as competition is very tough, he was given the opportunity, but wasn't able to exploit it that's why it was a hard decision for the Lakers to let him go.

For sure they were high hopes since he is the son of a legend, but we all know that they are not the same. Hopefully he learn something from his Lakers stint so that he can improved and motivate himself.

On paper.  These guys have to play a large chunk of games.  Without lebron amd/or AD out there the team is rudderless.  That's the story with a lot of the teams that are built like this with star vets.  Can they stay on the court will decide how theor season will go.  NBA is just too harsh to bet on that so I'm still thinking Lakers are a playin type team.  Maybe squeeze in the 5 or 6 hole but there are definitely better teams than them in the west.
803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which old coin do you prefer? Litecoin or Dogecoin? on: October 16, 2023, 09:31:47 PM
Among the good-old coins listed on the market today, which one do you prefer the most? Litecoin or Dogecoin? The former is often used for serious cross-border payments at a fraction of the cost, while the latter is used more for micropayments/tipping. Despite these differences, it's no secret that DOGE is faster and cheaper to use than LTC itself (Dogecoin's block time is lower than Litecoin's, while market prices are cheaper). I'd choose both as they're tried-and-tested blockchain networks with decentralization and security/reliability in mind.

What would be your pick? And why did you choose that coin in the first place? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley
Sunday!

Litecoin.  At least it was designed to serve some sort of purpose.  Dogecoin is and was just around as a joke.  But on a fundamental side there is an endless block reward of 10,000 coins every minute...forever.  there is no way that demand can outpace supply that is endless.  The price of doge will eventually just keep falling due to the imbalance.

What a weird gameweek so far.

SF lost to the Browns, Jets beat the Eagles and the Bills doesnt look good against the Giants aswell.
This was also clearly reflected in Fantasy Football... At least in my team. But I'm still happy and until now I'm leading. Everything depends on @South Parks A. Ekeler on MNF.

Can I pull out my 2nd win of the season or goin to be defeated by South Park with his last player remaining?

Agreed.  Shocking how the bills couldn't get ahead of the giants until a couple minutes to go.  As a giants fan just pathetic showing seriously.  Topped with the run play on the 1 yard line with no timeouts.  I was actually laughing because that's just typical giants type plays right there.  Either way...any given sunday!
805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 16, 2023, 09:25:16 PM
Lillard finally made his debut with the Bucks. They defeated the Lakers on the road by 11 points (108-97) for the Bucks. He played only 22 minutes and 23 seconds, but his production wasn't that impressive, with a 3-10 shooting performance for the whole game, which is not what we were expecting. I guess he is still adjusting to his new team, or maybe he hasn't taken it too seriously since it's just the preseason.

But there is some positive news from the team; the points are well-distributed, which means the ball movement is on point.

Lopez    11
Antetokounmpo 16
Payne 12
Connaughton   12
Portis 10

It's one game he isn't going to shoot 70% every game we know that.  And on top of it pre season is about getting rotations down and seeing who your end of the bench contributors are.  You can find every year players who average 20-30 points a game and don't even see a minute of floor time during the season.  Point is don't take stock in pre season bad performances.

I'm not tracking lol.  The exact reason crypto was created was to have 100% control of your money.  If you own your keys no one e can "take" your money.  I don't think you quite understand how bitcoin works and need to read up a little more.  And further the US won't just take everyone's money to fund the war, those in.power would just get voted out it's not a dictatorship

I am a high school student. I learned about Bitcoin, but it's too late. I was so young. Because I was 4 years old in 2009. But as history tells us, bitcoin killer will emerge one day. I want to find out such coin, but I don't have enought knowledge and ability to do that.. I want to ask the smart people here. Is there a coin that is similar to Bitcoin now? something that is perfectly decentralized. I want to invest there. If there's a coin you're making, is fine too. Just let me know. I hope this post becomes a legend.

There will never be another bitcoin.  We already have bitcoin why would people switch to another "main" coin?  Honestly there are altcoin projects that are worthy of investment but it's not like they are going to give you the insane results bitcoin did from 2009 to now.  And by the way there is nothing wrong with putting money into bitcoin its still early Smiley
808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: October 15, 2023, 06:41:17 PM
How well do.ypu all do betting preseason?  I find it crazy hard to figure out how to bet.  You have no clue who is even going to get court time.  Coach might want to figure out the back end of his bench and play the bench the whole game.  Not that I don't bet but for ke it's more a shot in the dark.  Any strategy?
809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 15, 2023, 06:38:54 PM
I know it's only preseason but I will be the first to admit I might be wrong about wemby.  Dude is a monster.  I thought he might not he strong enough to hang inside in the NBA and think I'm wrong after watching a couple of preseason games.  Now I know the regular season is very different he looks like he has the goods to hold up.  Hope the kid stays injury free to see how good he can get.  That's the worry with these big guys

It's too early to draw any conclusions about Victor. Personally, my first impression after a couple of preseason games is that Victor is a good scorer, but at the same time, I would point out that he only grabbed 4 and 5 rebounds in those two games. That's kind of small for a 7'4" guy.
Anyway, he really has a lot of potential, although it's still unclear if he's injury-prone or not.

Yeah I know, there are always pre season "stars" that end up not being able to cut it but the dude looks different.  He is going to have a tough time banging down low at times to grab boards but that will come with time.  Gonna a be fun to watch this year the kid can definitely put it in the bucket.
810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Drake's Curse. on: October 15, 2023, 06:36:05 PM
Quote
Rapper Drake lost $850,000 on Logan Paul's fight with Dillon Danis - despite backing the right man to win. Paul took on Danis over six rounds last night alongside KSI's defeat by Tommy Fury in Manchester. Paul dominated the first five rounds before Danis was disqualified in the final session for attempting to choke out his rival. Paul was declared the winner - but not by knock out as Drake had predicted. The rapper, who is seen as something of a curse given his poor gambling record, had staked $850,000 (£700,000) on Paul to win by stoppage and would have collected $1.3million (£1m) had he been successful.
https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/boxing/drake-logan-paul-danis-bet-31194541

The Drake's Curse.

He lost on the right man. We have experienced losses but not as bad as this...this is just terrible.

What do the gambling folks have to say about this?

This is just a normal loss relatively speaking.  Drake is worth a quarter billion dollars.  This is like a normal person losing a couple hundred dollars.  It sucks buts not going to change your day.  Boxing bets like this are typical in that you bet the type of way they are gonna win or in what rounds.  So a ton of times people bet the right side but still lose.  It's like betting the favorite in football.  They win but don't cover the spread and you lose, same thing.
811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Recommend me altcoin to DCA till halving on: October 14, 2023, 07:04:05 PM
I am aware that DCA is better in a coin you know will last somehow long depending on how long you have to DCA.
DCA is the only means that is easy for me to buy coins. Which altcoin can you recommend for me to start DCAing till  halving when the bull run is expected.
I am afraid , that before bull run such coin might have problems. I don't want coins above $100, so that it will be possible to run on good profits if the investment works.

Don't focus on coin price per coin rather it's market cap.  If there is low mintage making the coin price high it doesn't mean it can't shoot up higher.  With that being said matic/polygon at $.51 per coin is a nice price.  At this price I can't see it going g to much lower so a decent price to dca in for awhile.

813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: October 14, 2023, 06:32:12 PM
Still it is not a massive difference, and many things can change in the time we have until the election day.

In any case, it can go either way I think, either Trump or Biden might end up being the next president.

A 1% difference in a poll is still too small in my mind.

I believe that it could be shown as 5%+ for trump or Biden and I would still not trust it. I would guess that polls are made up and do not believe in them if you ask me. I mean its based on what you want to believe so if you want to believe then you could believe it but I wouldn't believe it if it was me. They are usually not done properly and then they look and show something that is not real.

Remember the time polls showed 1% for Trump to be the republican candidate? That was literally before he became president that same election, not only he became the nominee from republican party, but he also won the presidency as well. So if you like trump so much, you shouldn't believe in these polls at all for sure, he beat all the odds before, doesn't mean he will win, just means polls are not real.

Well.. both the points are valid. My point was that Trump has got a bump recently as a result of the border crisis. But I agree, this 1% lead may not be too large (but it is rare for Republican candidates to get large leads). Let's see whether these trends are going to last for a couple of months. From what I can see, the biggest impact is being felt on swing states such as Arizona and Pennsylvania, and this is going to be bad news for the Democrats. Today also there was another poll from The Messenger/HarrisX. Trump is ahead by 4 points.

https://themessenger.com/politics/poll-trump-maintains-narrow-lead-over-biden-exclusive

These "polls" are always known to be off at this point in the game.  They tend to poll in the direction they want the outcome to come out in.  I'm just waiting until the debates start to heat up.  That's the point back in 2016 when trump was losing by a ton started gaining traction.  Will be interesting to see this time around how others fare against him as they know his personal attack tactics.
814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Logan Paul Vs Dillon Dannis and KSI vs Tommy Fury Today! Oct 14th on: October 14, 2023, 06:29:55 PM
Not watching these kinds of fights anymore. Though I would watch it on replay if Paul loses in a brutal KO. I saw some YouTube updates about them just a few days ago and Dillon seems to be nailing Paul. Between the two, I think Dillon might win.

After following several fights between the Paul brothers and some other YouTubers, its sickening. Yep they could market a fight that's their best skill.

I'm with you.  As a true boxing fan, influencer fights or these exhibitions are annoying.  Promoters are just trying to pull as much money out of people and overall the actual boxing is subpar.  I mean I get it from theor perspective but it's just been overdone and old at this point.
815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler avoiding friends after a big win. on: October 14, 2023, 06:25:25 PM
At one of the local gambling shop I visited during the weekend I happened to listen to a conversation between two bald looking gamblers at the shop talking about one of their gambling colleague who had won a big amount of money amounting to a million in the local currency and due to that win this colleague of theirs' has been avoiding them since e won that money. From their conversation it was obvious that they were a circle of close three friends that gamble together.

After all I finished with my bet headed home and was asking myself what could the colleague act that way avoiding his close friends they all gambling together and just because luck shines on him first he decides to create a distance and class. I couldn't actually annex a good reason why anyone should do that.

Most likely because they are degenerates amd figures his "friends" will be begging him for money since he has some to burn.  If I won a significant amount of money like that and knew guys I hung with are always gambling I'd stay away too.  Second reason is he probably doesn't want to lose it all.  If he hangs with them, inevitably he is going to jam his money in the middle. And then there is an outside chance he owes them big money
816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 13, 2023, 09:01:42 PM

Really surprised that book landed #1 over those other people.  Some people can land in other categories like Luka and steph over in pg spot, Tatum as a sf.  But if they are all lined up together under the sg spot I think I'm taking 4 or 5 guys before I take book.

For me Booker is one of the most overrated players in the league actually.
Seeing him on top of all these players seems a little off. Also looking at the roster now, playing with KD and Beal, this will mean less shots for him as well.

Anyway, most of these lists made in the preseason are garbage anyway. Somebody has too much time creating this stuff so people can discuss about it.

In this case, it's another strange one.

I’m not a big Booker fan either but he can definitely shoot. I don’t think he’a a top tier player but I think he’ll be leading the Suns this year. KD might be the best player but it’s Booker’s team they all came to play for so I think they’ll show him the respect he deserves and let him lead the team in shots. I’m not a big fan though.

So nice to see Ben Simmons balling out in the preseason.

I agree book is gonna get his looks this year.  I'm shocked if this is a true eye test from all the NBA gms.  I mean they are tuned into pretty much every player since they have to be so I wonder while the fans certainly wouldn't have these rankings the way they are what they see.  Book is a top player for sure, Suns will have an interesting year so maybe he starts climbing those charts just don't see him there yet.

Football is great and all, but why can we only bet on the game when it’s clear that all people really care about is how many time the camera is going to show Taylor Swift, how many times the commentators are going to mention Taylor Swift, and when Taylor Swift will be leaving the game? I mean, Taylor Swift…

I was watching the Chiefs vs. the Broncos and on halftime one of the cameras was filming a bookshop which might have been near the stadium. On the the stand near the cashier were books about the NFL and beside these books were the books written by Taylor Swift hehehe.

In any case, are the Chiefs revenues and profits going down? Would it be shocking if this relationship between Kelce and Taylor Swift is fake and this was only another marketing tactic? It might also be working, I reckon.

Neither the NFL, the cheifs, nor Taylor Swift are losing money right now it's quite the opposite.  The NFL is better than it ever has been.  They are using this to onboard new fans (Taylor's fanbase) but it's not because they are hurting.  Just with any business you cash in on these opportunities.  Just sucks everytime you watch the cheifs you have to deal with it.  In the end people are going to get more annoyed and stop watching if anything.

Doesn't anybody else think Kansas City odds are deceiving or are the Denver Broncos just that bad to have them heavy underdogs priced at 5.54x?
Chiefs at 1.17x is even a bet to make because the profit margin is a sliver.
Maybe a betbuilder or even a high odds spreadline is worth it but not the ML on the Chiefs.

Here are the markets so you can make your selections and pick something resembling a valuable play:

I hate betting those lower odds, you win barely anything and super exposed to an upset.  Denver is terrible but any given Sunday anyone can win its the nfl.  Those odds seem about right not sure how the books can offer more money on kc straight up this game should be over by the third quarter.
Well the odds did increase just a bit an hour ago to 1.18x so a micro movement on the lines but everybody is on the Chiefs to win and by a large margin.
Broncos are terrible and there was even talk about Jeudy trade rumors right before the game is not a good look for Denver's chances either.

I somehow think the same after the Chiefs looked shaky in their last two matches, but I don't see them being bad enough to lose against one of the worst teams like the Broncos.

The spread on the Chiefs felt too much for me and after watching the Jets game, i'd better buy some points to avoid stressing out on the spread, so I whipped up a bet builder and took the -3.5 spread together with the under 51.5 @2.10 (odds boost). I imagine the scoreline for this game would look similar to the Bears game and pray that the Chiefs' defense would hold the Broncos to maybe a couple of TD or field goals.

I also took a betbuilder bet on this match but went with the passing and running yardage for Kansas City instead. Ended up with a 7.00x odds betslip so it is good enough for me to take the risk.
Was going to also add the over on points for this match to tack on there but then I remembered the last time I put too much confident in a Chiefs domination earlier in the season and that was the only thing not to hit on that betslip.

That games was pretty bad.  Kansas city didn't even play good and it never really was in doubt.  Not sure what happened to russ but ever since he collected his bag he seems disinterested at times.  He had a swagger with the cheifs that he is missing.  Something tells me there is a lot going on on that clubhouse.  I'm gonna be betting against Denver a lot this year lol.
819  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you play while listening music? on: October 13, 2023, 08:51:34 PM
Which is more entertaining? playing games listening to music or without music just sound of the games like roulette ball bouncing on the metal wheel or playing games in silence?
While listening to music its hard to control our emotions while losing and we are not able to concentrate on game. it is highly likely that we blow our account by betting high.
but it is more entertaining while listening music on low volume and playing games.

Whenever I'm gambling on games like blackjack, roulette etc that takes decision making I don't play with any kind of music.  I will listen to music if and when I'm playing slots since you are basically just pushing buttons randomly and there is no real thinking involved.  Also when playing poker I will listen to music while not in certain hands.

Oh my God lol.  How pissed off would you be to have gotten 4th place in this tournament lol.  Do you know when this was, based on the prize table maybe 2011/2012?  Also that seems ofldd to offer back then since not a ton of people knew even how to relieve or store bitcoin? Was it a crypto related tournamnet?

Yeah, it was early 2011. It was gaming tournament for pvp game called starcraft, not exactly crypto related but those who are hardcore gamers usually know about crypto, or have vague idea about it.

Here is original post for you to read: https://tl.net/forum/bw-tournaments/190866-aov-iccup-starleague

Crazy yeah I mean I get the association between gaming and crypto but early 2011 that had to be one of the earlier outside ventures offering bitcoin up.  2009 was just a couple people on the network, 2010 was still pretty much inside type stuff happening.  Going to check out that article thanks for the link.
