841  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price drops as US inflation reaches 40-Year High on: October 13, 2022, 10:06:38 PM
~
Last time I made a thread about the increase in the U.S. consumer prices and its impact on the crypto market was in June , we saw the same behaviour in the market
All credit goes to the Biden Administration and with the mid terms coming he wanted the OPEC to ramp up the oil production and now they have rejected and he has warned the Saudi's about repercussion of not following their orders  Cheesy. In a short period of time they created a shit show and you cannot expect anything better if the policies are shit and most of the time spending time in dividing people which does not make any sense.

To be frank i am sad to see that the BTCitcoin market is also dancing around the tunes of the overall market situation which was inevitable but the good old days were better.
842  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: October 13, 2022, 06:42:30 PM
There is more to it. Ganguly was close to BJP when he took over from Anurag Thakur.
He was tipped to stand in as BJP’s face in West Bengal elections.
But his refusal to criticise West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and not joining BJP did not work in his favour.
Despite meetings with BJP top brass besides Home Minister Amit Shah, he kept himself out of politics.
That is a fair argument and i did not knew these disputes and if you oppose the BJP then you are gone because they have the power on who gets elected and they would find someone that suits their goals.

ICC is not unbiased, we all know that. It is clear that the ICC will always place money first, even before the improvement of cricket. There's no doubt they recognize that the UAE is a very suitable neutral venue for some big matches, and probably that's why the ICC isn't trying to oppose the UAE. I also believe that ICC realizes that this can be a viable business strategy if UAE is deeply interested in cricket. So my bet is ICC is thinking money above all.
Hope you are aware that the ICC head quarters is in UAE and obviously they did that to save taxes and the UAE government invited them. I would like to know which sports body is not thinking about money. Sports is all about money and how to attract new people to the sport.

~
Hilarious. How exactly did Ganguly do a good job? He was just another corrupt official who raked in a huge salary annually while doing a mediocre job as the BCCI president. That is the obvious truth.

He most probably got kicked from his position because he wasn't willing to join BJP which ended up screwing him over. Think!
So the next president will not rake in huge salary as a favor and dance to the tune of who ever is controlling the show. I never cared to know the previous presidents nor i have no idea what better job they did in the last two decades. If you have some points on that aspect, we might have a debate  Wink Cheesy.
843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum drop gets me worried. on: October 13, 2022, 04:12:08 PM
In general, today the market drop and ETH drop are around 7%, of course not because of the merge process that has been completed for almost a month but because of the bearish market, it is impossible for Eth to run alone while the market is dropping, all we do is only patient and buy again when the price is cheap .
I agree the ETH market is going down because the overall cryptocurrency market is going down however i believe that POS ETH should have the same valuation like the POW one because the cost of production is not that much and hence it is selling at a huge margin  Wink Tongue. I am expecting the price to go down further and i am not sure when they are planning to cap the number of coins in existence even though i heard these discussions earlier.
844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin to be used for micropayments on Twitter? on: October 12, 2022, 11:05:37 PM
~
I'm wondering what effect will this have into DOGE's price if successfully implemented? Will DOGE be able to finally get past $1 per coin? Or will it never happen?
Anyone with logic would think it is preposterous to even dream that the price of Dogecoin will rise to $1. But who knows it is magic money and with Elon Musk wants to raise some money after the Twitter purchase, i wont be surprised him doing some crazy shit to rally the price Cheesy.

Also, I fail to see how DOGE would be used massively on Twitter when the cryptocurrency doesn't have enough transaction capacity to serve millions of users around the world. There's no LN or on-chain scaling solution yet, so developers are going to have to work on something if they want DOGE to be widely adopted worldwide. What are your thoughts? Huh
They will add those in a short period of time, the developers never bothered to upgrade them when Musk started to Tweet about it and all of a sudden the transactions were getting stuck and the developers woke up and made the necessary updates within a week or so if i remember correctly, so they will do the necessary updates if Musk is to bring his magic again .

In today's match, England failed to collect some more runs. Almost everyone failed in the entire innings with only two players contribution to take the match far. Dawid Malan and Moeen Ali accumulated score 126 from 178 runs in a whirlwind batting for England. But I want to say Australia ahead in this match and provably win this match today.
The entire batting line up of England failed and only 3 players scored double figure runs and yet they were able to score 178 runs when Dawid Malan and Moeen Ali was able to built a good partnership and then as a bonus Australian fielders dropped as many as 4 catches which i counted and then stopped counting and the way England played tonight shows how they are the favorites in the upcoming World Cup.

~
Bangladesh has not yet become such a strong team that they will beat Newzealand. Today's match was sure to lose Bangladesh but Bangladesh scored less runs than expected. I thought Bangladesh might score 190 to 200 runs but they lost all overs for just 160 runs. It is sad for Bangladesh and Bangladeshi supporters
New Zealand dropped a lot of catches in this match and there was even a funny moment when 4 fielders were under the ball but none of them attempted to take the catch thinking the other would complete the catch. They should improve on their butter fingers if they want to pose any challenge in the World Cup.

im looking to buy 0.1 btc.
You can use Kucoin or Binance P2P and purchase USDT or even BTCitcoin directly and even i do use these platforms to sell my USDT even though i never purchased anything and never had any issues till date. So i would suggest you trying those as majority of the platforms will not entertain cards or the transaction charges will be way higher. Majority of the sellers will be providing multiple options like UPI, IMPS and verification takes only a few hours for me when i did long back but even now it will not take much time.

If you are looking for no KYC options, not sure there are many and no one would risk taking UPI transactions from strangers as you never know when you will get in trouble if the money is tainted.

a good source of info, or should I watch/read something else?
The video brushes a few laws but it basically says the history of the game and it is a good video but since you are trying to learn the game
The Laws of Cricket Explained which is a great video for any novice to understand the game better and then after having an idea about the rules watch some match highlights which is available online and you will figure out the game step by step.

Basically there are three formats of the game,

  • Test match which will last 5 days and each team gets 2 innings each, unlimited overs for a bowler and 90 overs for the day. After the fifth day if there is no result it is considered a draw
  • ODI matches, 50 overs a team and a bowler could bowl a maximum of 10 overs
  • T20 matches 20 overs a team and a bowler could bowl a maximum of 4 overs

If both teams score exactly the same runs then it would be a tie and in T20 there will be a super over, which means one over will be bowled by each team and the team that scores the maximum runs will be the winner.

The rest is explained in the video above and you will understand once you understand the laws or if you have any questions there are a lot of Cricket fans in this forum who could clear every doubt  Smiley.

@JSRAW I like Dark Horses, NZ looks cool, will do an outright or two and share them here Wink
My dark horse for the tournament would be Sri Lanka, all their players are fit and the way they won the recent Asia Cup after loosing the first match was unexpected as they went on to defeat India and then Pakistan in the final makes me think that they are the dark horse because they do not rely on a single player and the odds looks great.

@CLS63: I only know Imran Khan, but I don't think he's picked up a bat for 20 years!
He retired 30 years ago and he is currently 70 years Wink.

Favorites of the tournament are England and Australia as they both have a pretty deep batting line up and good bowlers.

my prediction :
top 4 teams :australia,england,india,pakistan
The problem i see with India is that they will miss Bumrah and Jadeja due to injury and the loss of Bumrah will affect the depth in bowling because he was a bowler who could change the match any time.

underdogs worth to bet:
West indies --these guys are beast and they won 2 titles (getting 1 is dream for many teams)
They are not coming into this tournament with their known big hitters and they were struggling in recent tournaments and the same team is coming to the World Cup, so do not expect much from West Indies .

I guess now no one will talk about BCCI making some shady deal with the CSA in regards to giving them some free qualification points by fielding their 2nd string team (or fixing).

Which we heard when India lost the 1st match.
We only hear baseless conspiracy theories most of the time here in the forum and they can satisfy themselves by claiming that they knew the tournament was fixed and since the BCCI knew that everyone knew it was fixed and hence they asked CSA to comply with their demands and hence they were all out for 99 runs  Cheesy. I wont be surprised if anyone comes out with that claim as well because i am seeing a lot of these theories for the past several months Wink.

England and Australia is going on and Jos Buttler and Alex Hales are in prime form smashing all the Australian bowlers all over the ground and with a century opening partnership and still going strong and with the way the match is going it is going to be an easy win for England.

New Zealand is chasing a total of 137 set by Bangladesh and it is going to be another easy win for New Zealand as there nothing in the pitch that is assisting the bowlers and New Zealand have plenty of wickets in hand.

Pakistan Women and UAE Women are playing, the odds are not at all great to place any bet but i do not think UAE Women will have any chance to upset Pakistan as the target is 146 and for a team who restricted India Women recently, it will not be difficult to restrict UAE Women.

Compared to Facebook and TikTok, Twitter seems to be less favorable but has for long being the opinion ground for the likes of Elon and ex president Donald Trump. Although the latter was banned from the platform.
It is an opinion ground for some and majority of times they block people who has an opinion, so i would personally like to see Elon Musk taking over Twitter because he will not restrict anyone simply because of an opinion. Whether he will be able to purchase them is another story as it is hard to understand his views with his cryptic messages most of the time as he likes to troll majority of the time.

Djokovic won the second set in a tiebreak after which Medvedev retired due to an injury; sad ending as it was a good match! Final will be Tsitsipas vs Djokovic and for the bookies Djokovic is the big favorite to win the match with an odd of around 1.3.
It was turning out to be a great match and i was under the impression that Medvedev will win the match and suddenly he called off the match after a hard fought second round and Djokovic was somehow able to win that and it was confusing as to what happened and i wish we would see the entire match rather than a walkover.

Djokovic is the heavy favorite and Tsitsipas reached the final after winning from behind after loosing the first set. I am expecting it to be a longer match up and Djokovic winning the final.

Bear and bull market creates high volatility in crypto, it is what makes every investor to join crypto investment. Of course, investors won't be interested in crypto without the high volalitily caused by the bear and bull market.
Majority of the new investors are here not just because we are highly volatile or they are impressed with the tech side of things as a decentralized currency but the majority of the investors are viewing the entire cryptocurrency market as a quick rich scheme and make money when you can as majority of the new investors does not even believe that the market would last till the next decade.

One thing I know for sure is that, the Security architecture of BNB Blockchain has improved following it's hack.
So you are certain that you need someone to hack and expose a security flaw to secure the architecture and if that is the case, there will be more hackers trying to exploit more holes in the system and with multiple hacks they can ultimately secure the architecture  Tongue.

One thing evident with this hack is the decentralized nature of BNB where they were able to freeze and seize the hacked funds, so much revealing the control they have and the nature of decentralization  Cheesy.

In Pakistan's historic victory against India, Nida Dar has named Player of the Match. I would have to say that Pakistan's bowlers dominated Indian batters and won this match. It was a superb inning from Richa Ghsh for his team, but today Pakistan women played brilliantly as well. Congratulations to Pakistan's ladies.
If you look at the odds before the match it was a major upset, i did not expect Pakistan Women to defeat India Women but all the credit goes to Nida Dar who scored a quick fire 56 runs and then Aiman Anwer bowled a tight spell and all the bowlers were economical.

Betting on Australia in this T-20 series against West Indies was easy money for me. I felt that the odds were decent too in both matches.

West Indies have been struggling across all formats for sometime now which is why them getting whitewashed in this manner isn't surprising at all. They have zero chances of winning the T-20 World Cup this time around if you ask me.
You cannot completely ignore West Indies because they came to the 2012 T20 World Cup not in the best of form and lost to Sri Lanka in all the matches they played earlier and then went on to win the final against Sri Lanka, the same in the 2016 World Cup where they lost against Afghanistan in the initial rounds and then went on to win the final, so you cannot underestimate them.
857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: October 06, 2022, 04:53:50 PM
What's happening with Indian fielding nowadays? Quite surprising tbh as fielding was one of the departments they've improved a lot in recent times but out of nowhere they are looking like headless chickens on the field, dropping, missing catch opportunities regularly and even misfielding are very common.

Guess Proteas has enough runs on the board.
It is a young team and may be ring rust as they are not playing much to get into the rhythm and hence leaking runs in the field and missing catches  Cheesy. Looks like South Africa got enough runs on board as India need 44 runs from 18 balls even with Sanju Samson and Shardul Thakur in the crease it is a difficult target as one wicket here will expose the tail end players.

Edit: Shardul Thakur is gone.

Kuldeep Yadav is gone the next ball.
858  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Watford Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: October 06, 2022, 02:37:38 PM
i find it hard to understand that crypto bettors choose this kind of sites to bet. i checked their kyc requirements and theres `proof of income` lmao.  the main idea of betting with crypto is remaining anonymous as much as possible, no?
During the initial stages the idea was to remain anonymous but things are changing in the cryptocurrency space as well, As a business you can either abide by the law or risk perishing and they will do the former rather than risking their business and hence the KYC. I underwent KYC in Stake but they never asked proof of income as far as i remember.
859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Crash Incoming? on: October 05, 2022, 11:26:48 PM

If there will be a crash, it will be somewhat subtle and we can surely take the blow. The world economy is going to shit, and the money flowing out of it has to go somewhere. Stocks are slowly getting deemed as overvalued as well and that too, is prone to a huge crash. It's either just precious metals or crypto, as hoarding cash with the world currencies going under is just straight up dumb.
If there is a collapse in the financial sector, the stock market will go down as well and people will be moving their wealth to metals and i highly doubt anyone would consider cryptocurrency market as a safe heaven when there is a financial crisis as we are known to have a highly volatile market even during normal time and then to expect anyone to consider them as a safe heaven during financial crisis would be comical  Cheesy.

I wasn't expecting this close finish by the West Indies. Although they lost the match but it was indeed a good play by them. They were the underdogs and they really surprised the Australian team.
West Indies would have won the match if they could held on to their catches, really disappointed with their ground fielding as they dropped many catches and especially in the last over they dropped two catches of Wade that would have changed the match completely and then a run out if the throw was good, West Indies messed up completely and luck was with Australia in this match.
