841  Economy / Economics / Re: Having a problem a Personal Finance? on: September 03, 2023, 07:56:23 PM
I agree entirely with what's been said here. Personal finance was always a mystery to me until the day I lost track of my spending. It was quite a blow, realizing that I couldn't properly manage my money. I then started taking baby steps towards understanding it.
Reading books did wonders for me, and forums like this one also offered much guidance. The variety of financial wisdom through different perspectives is incredible. Videos indeed inspired me, but the real change came from self-discipline and accountability.
Great progress and good words speaking from your experience. While these resources will surely help us to go along with our personal finances and will help us improve. The guarantee will still start from our own initiative. Without such, you're walking blindly without any idea on where you're going at. Self discipline is the foundation of personal finance even if you have watched tons of videos, inspirational quotes, finance books but having none of it will make all of those useless.

Well, you won't see player making 5 3-pointers in a row every day, Clarkson was on fire today. It's nice to see hosts ending on a high note and finally taking win. And congrats to Japan and South Sudan for taking spot in 2024 Paris Olympics.
He's really lit and on fire together with the other local players like Abandon. I've just read recently that Philippines is going to play with the Olympic Qualifying tournament. That means that the hope and dream for Olympics isn't dead yet. They have to win the Olympic qualifying tournament for which they're going to participate. I know that it's going to be hard but maybe from there, they can give all their best shots. While Bahamas is already qualified for the Olympics and doesn't have to go through with the Olympic qualifying tournament, their team is where probably Klay Thompson is going to play with. And for Japan's growth in basketball, without even Rui Hachimura but only Yuta and one localized player, they are really a strong team and congrats to them as well.

I think this guy Abando should have played more minutes in the FIBA, I mean he is so electrifying that it could affect his team mates and that's what happen here. Clarkson is on fire, Kai Sotto had a good game. I thought it will be close because at the start of the 3rd quarter, Japan took the lead by the Philippines doesn't want to lose this one.

And suddenly Clarkson, he is on fire, hitting those 3 pointers and in matter of minutes he had like 20 points and then the Philippines pulling off a double digit lead. Hopefully this will carry the momentum of Gilas in order for team Philippines to qualify for the Olympics.
He really should have but the coach didn't give him that much playing time on their first matches. If he was just given a lot of playing time, I am sure that the chemistry of him and JC would have been great. He's just the recent MVP of KBL and that's why he's got a title and proved it to the world. Japan? Maybe you mean China, mate.  Grin

Since Gilas is already eliminated and they don't have any more games in this tournament and i think people in the Philippines will surely be rooting for the USA to be the champion of this year's FIBA World Cup. They have a game today against Lithuania and i just wanted to ask the opinion of some users here if USA will be able to cover that -14.5 spread as I'm hesitant to put my money on them with that wide spread.
Lithuania won against USA and every fan has their own other team to support but don't forget that Gilas is qualified for the Olympic Qualifying tournament.

Maybe a lot has changed as they got more big man on this one and more likely have taken some wins. But we don't know, even Spain the number one team has been beaten by Latvia. This means that this FIBA is really full of surprises and a lot of teams that have come to be expected perform at their best are not guarantee of a win. It's just sad that our national team hasn't taken any win and if they lose to China this Saturday, our team is gonna be part of history. Yeah, but very bad history of being a team of not having any win as a host country.
It was really unexpected for Latvia to win against Spain but surely the ball is round and you can never know what may happen if the game hasn't ended yet so Latvia got upset for sure, it was a full surprise, but another Surprise was the 1st win of the Philippines against China surely it was really a great game all have performed well including Renz Abando, Kai Sotto and lastly the monster performance of Jordan Clarkson for this game,
Yeah, this is something that was unexpected and made a lot of people believe that every team is balanced and can win the World Cup. Truly a good game against China because before the Gilas was having a hard time to beat them and when it's like we're hearing they were opponent, it's already acclaimed that the Gilas is going to lose with a lot of lead from China but this time, Gilas did the opposite still a good win after all.

for sure it was a great game for the last coaching of Coach Chot Reyes for the Philippines because, after the game with China, he had already said that he is now retired as a coach,
Being the coach only for Gilas but not entirely as a coach since there's still PBA (local league).

Crazy game! This is what the Philippines have wanted, but it only happened in their last game when it wasn't that necessary. JC is on fire, and it was a bad decision by China not to double-team him. We know that JC is a streaky shooter, and now he will be unstoppable. I don't think China will be able to mount a big comeback in the 4th quarter.
Well, that's a nice win and yes deserved win. It's what we're waiting for and at least a host country that has won at least 1 game. While the nation is celebrating for this win. The fact is that they're no longer qualified to 2024 Paris Olympics. And what's a good news not for us but for South Sudan, they're going to the 2024 Paris Olympics. A young country, and just a few years that became member of FIBA is now qualified for the Olympics. Good job to them.

846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When to invest in bitcoin on: September 02, 2023, 01:03:22 PM
but I will be waiting until the price fall again, and if it fall again I will not miss the opportunity of buying bitcoin and keep for long term investment
That's all you have to do and don't just put it in all talks. Make sure that you're gonna do your initiative and promise to yourself of how you're going to react and what you'll do when the time has come for you to start buying. Because you may not ask, there have been a lot of the same people that have said the same thing as yours but never done the thing they've said because of some instances that have stopped them in doing so. So, as you've told that, make sure that you'll put your mouth where your money is.
You are right but generally it depends on the individual when it comes to investment. Many people promise not to do it but I think it is the right time to invest when the price of bitcoin falls. Investors know that when the price of bitcoin falls, it will rise again this kind of competition in cryptocurrencies is good for investors.
It's always been the right time to buy when the price is low. But what people have been doing is they wait for some signs if they should buy even if it's obvious that the price is low.

By doing this the value of the coin cannot increase much but in case of bitcoin it is opposite because bitcoin has gained so much popularity it has an opportunity to stay ahead of rival currencies.
It will remain at the top and those that don't take that moment of buying and still asking when to invest and buy bitcoin. You guys don't see the time that you have to do it which is now.
847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin is more profitable? on: September 02, 2023, 11:28:59 AM
It would be better if the question was, Which coin is more profitable and trustworthy?
Because you should not only look at the profit, you should also see how reliable the coin is. For example, many people made huge profits from Dogecoin, but after the hype, many people fell into huge losses.
It's always the motivation of most investors and traders, to make a profit, the money. But it's true that we've got difference temperance and tolerance of the market. If it's about trustworthy, we all know that there are only a few options for it but the most choice will be Bitcoin.

Everyone knows the current status of the once popular coin LUNA. So Bitcoin is a coin that can be blindly trusted.
This is an issue of trust, before Luna was truly known and trusted and they're even always in the news that said of purchasing a lot of Bitcoin. Not until everything has come to an end and the true agenda of the devs came out.
848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 02, 2023, 10:57:03 AM
It is going to be exciting if they can do it this season and if it's possible to make some trade offers to the Bucks. But if not, we have to wait until a year until he goes free agent. Anything is possible for a team that wants him badly and he badly wants to be with.

His free agency is so far away so many things can happen by then, with one of them being the Bucks winning another chip and having a top team.  Why would giannis want to leave at that point.  Or he gets injured and alters his desirability around the league, or any other thing that changes the current outlook.  What we know now is the Bucks ain't in the market to trade him.
Maybe he just wants to try something new and that's the best team that he's seeing as a championship team that can bring him another ring. Just as what KD has thought of before. Yeah, he won't be traded right away but if the time comes and talks have happened, there could be a mutual and beneficial agreement that they can end up with. But as statements coming out like Kerr saying things that he'd like to coach Giannis and Giannis going to their team, well something might be cook in the nearest future with these collaborations, transfers and trades.
849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After all these years on: September 02, 2023, 10:05:53 AM
BTC will probably never become a globally accepted payment method and that's ok since it has many other advantages over traditional FIAT payment methods.
It's okay but even so, we can say that it's totally accepted globally since many countries and people have recognized it for its use not just as payment but mostly as an asset and that's okay. But yes, that's one reality that you can't everyone in terms of the acceptance of it globally as a payment method.

It helped drive its adoption rates upwards drastically around the world which is what truly matters at the end of the day.
Yes, that's what really matters at this point. Before, the early adopters have only one thing in common and wished for and that is what we're experiencing and what bitcoin has achieved right now, it's global adoption and presence.
850  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you risking investment in other things? on: September 02, 2023, 09:23:58 AM
There is a halving coming next year to which many people who know and have bitcoins have set a target of the amount they hope to have in their holding by the time the bull run begins. I like to know if with this knowledge of bitcoin halving coming, if anyone is investing in anything other than bitcoins. I do not mean alt-coin but things like Real Estate, stocks, bonds etc. I know that Real Estate is good to invest in, but asides real estate, what else are you risking the money you should to invest more in bitcoins on?
Yes, I do and I have plans of investing in real estate. In my country, the prices of properties have gone up but they're much higher in the city unlike in rural areas. And if there are any other investments that I'll put, maybe it's for my personal development. Like learning new skills and developing it so that I'll be ready to jump into another career if I ever want to. I know that most of us have their own ambitions and like dream jobs and that's what I am trying to prepare for myself. For now it's just like a personal satisfaction but who knows if I'll be able to apply my learnings so, it's also an investment and don't forget to invest into yourselves as well.
851  Other / Off-topic / Re: money before Romance on: September 02, 2023, 08:59:18 AM
you have to study money as you study women. Better to be a big player in finance, than a big player in romance. Nobody is called honey, like a man who controls money. money is a big tool. but, without it, the world will treat you like a big fool! the best way to make sense is by making money. otherwise you are making nonsense. Even scripture says money answers all things. money is not evil. it is the love of money that is evil. money is what enables you to convert your good thoughts to good deeds.
I agree that the love of money is the evil thing, money is essential and we all need.

How do you see it, if we use the time of studying women and romance, and think of money and how to make money. ?
You don't study women, you're the one that should discover what romance is all about. And that's gonna come naturally based on your experience and probably experiment. Just like in making money, there could be some disappointments and the same goes with romance and women.

Sabi nga sa isang verse sa bible:  'Ask and You Shall Receive', Matthew 7:7.

I wonder what France look like if Wembanyama played. The Spurs decided to excuse him from the national team for further development. But he and Gobert will have their chance to team up and get back their glory in the 2024 Paris Olympics. That will be the biggest basketball event and at the same time, their nation is the host. Should be fun to watch.

That is true about our country, gambling that's supported by the government has a purpose and that's being a charity and helping a lot of people. That is why there's still good out of it but the logic that will be seen by others is that it's still gambling money and people lost money.
Well, that's how it goes and there's still something good from the money that has come from their losses. If they don't want to lose, they shouldn't be in a casino that they know is going to make them lose money. It is gambling business and there will be consequences for a gambler to make, as usual, the results are known and it's like an agreement to yourself before you even gamble.
856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If I have 1BTC So how did I use to invest in different Coins on: September 01, 2023, 10:58:11 PM
a good altcoin for long term investment in my opinion is,
1. Ethereum
2. Binance
3. Ripple
because in my opinion these altcoin are very good and worthy for you to make a long-term investments,
Ethereum and Binance, I do like both of them and I hold them for the long term. Ripple is what seems people starting to keep on the talks because of the potential that it can go up when the bull run comes.

so of course if you invest in these altcoin right now, then you will definitely get a lot of profit in the future.
I don't want to guarantee because the market has always been moving and volatile and you'll never know if you're going to sell early when you see the price starts to dip. As long as you're able to hold in the long run and be firm with your plan, keep on hold with the altcoins you believe to be good holdings.
857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Young people should take more advantage of the crypto space. on: September 01, 2023, 10:32:37 PM
I think everyone should take advantage of the crypto world, but young people have even more reason to do that. I think it's obvious why as well. I understand that some people may think that bitcoin could make you rich overnight, or some alts that can go up 100x, but reality is that it's a slow burner and you are going to slowly get richer.
That can't be denied that there have been a lot of people who have become rich investing in altcoins and that made them a fortune. But there are more with Bitcoin and it has made a lot of people as well made their fortunes. Old or young, it's true that they should take advantage of the market if they can.

However, that doesn't mean that you should be able to do it when you are way too old, like some 70+ year old may not end up having that type of time to wait around, they need their money right away. I think it should be important to realize that you are going to end up with a profit one way or another and that should be a troublesome result, it should be important to make that difference.
As long as the person doesn't have to compromise themselves investing in it. With the suggestions that we're telling to only invest what they can afford to lose is always the thing we say.

859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 01, 2023, 05:56:54 PM
Steve Kerr is stirring the pot by saying that he would love to coach Giannis, saying he’s not only a great player but also a great person. I think that’s probably as much as he can say without getting fined for tampering,
He needs to be careful with the words that he's going to release especially on this stuff. But yeah, this could be the hint that he's saying that Giannis is welcome to get into the Warriors anytime he wishes or whenever he's already allowed to.

but it’s pretty clear that Golden State is going to do everything they can to try and sign Giannis when the time comes.
It is going to be exciting if they can do it this season and if it's possible to make some trade offers to the Bucks. But if not, we have to wait until a year until he goes free agent. Anything is possible for a team that wants him badly and he badly wants to be with.
860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency restrictions in some countries is a blessing in disguise. on: September 01, 2023, 05:29:14 PM
Just like what's happening in other countries, the more they prohibit something, the more that people will be breaking the law to pursue what's banned.

The ban initially led to a slow adoption, but eventually it then led to people being curious about bitcoin. Before you know it a lot of people have keyed into it, and that is why I say it's a blessing in disguise, because you'd think that the ban will diminish the adoption of bitcoin., but instead it increased the awareness. Again while the ban is still on in Nigeria, the country is one of the highest in bitcoin adoption.
That's true, the ban was a blessing in disguise there. And instead the government thinks that it will be better for them to ban it, the people there did the opposite and that has gained more adoption instead of stopping their curiosity of owning and adopting.

If the ban didn't make so much headlines at the time of CBN ban, maybe the awareness and curiosity to understand bitcoin, might not be much.
This proves that good or bad publicity always ended up in a publicity.
