For the most part I agree with you.  Anything that can be habit forming shoukd be kept clear out of kids minds.  They are still developing and if they have a natural tendency to fall victim to something like an addiction you could be sending them down the wrong path.  There are more harmful things than other but any and all gambling should probably be kept away

It's everyone's choices that led us to this point.  Stop leaving money on exchanges and using them as a personal wallet and the problem is solved.  It's not the idea of dex vs cex, it's really how people utilize them.  Put money on, trade, take money off to wallet where only you control the keys.  Boom problem solved

What do you think about this video of Gilbert Arena clowning on Hakeem Olajuwon for charging $50,000 for a training session?

https://x.com/thedunkcentral/status/1704169319171535226

I was a bit surprised because usually NBA players have nothing but good things to say about Hakeem and he’s the guy everyone brings in to teach their up and coming big men. I honestly thought he charged a lot more.

Dude is making a living I can't hate on him for that.  In terms of a person I've heard the same that the dude is legit.  And let's be honest he is on eof the top big the game has ever seen.  His post moves were unguardable. As a knick fan I hated him in 1994 because we had our "no jordan in the league" shot to win and he snatched it lol.  No harm there.

I am sick to my stomach this morning. I have the absolute worst luck when it comes to injuries in fantasy football. I am in 5 different leagues and have Nick Chubb in 3 of those leagues. That is an absolute blow to all my teams. I mean why does it have to happen in week freaking 2. Ugh 😩

Yeah brutal.  Fantasy football always does this, I've always said there is a large amount of luck to it.  Obviously you can recover but it makes it difficult and some sleepers have to hit big.  On a real note that injury was o.e of the worst I've ever seen in terms of body parts bending how they shouldn't.  I don't know how easy that's gon a be able to recover from.

NBA Central is reporting that the Clippers have ended trade talks with the 76ers for a potential James Harden trade. This isn’t good news for Harden, as he’s now faced with having to sit out the season if a new suitor doesn’t appear to his liking. Pretty similar situation as with Dame, although two completely different situations regarding loyalty at the same time.

If Harden sits for an entire year that might end his career effectively.  He might land on another team but it's not going to be to his liking.  What contender is going to sign someone like that up and give him starter minutes.  Owners take note of this kind of stuff.  He might land on the bench of a winner or a starter for a non competitive team.  Both not to his liking.  Players act like they run the league and it will fail without them.
906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bnb after next 5years on: September 18, 2023, 07:18:40 PM
Few years ago, didn’t though that bnb could reach such milestone as it is 3rd most invested altcoin in crypto world. But most of exchange tokens are fall down for being useless (only use for discounting exchange fee) as well as after exchange get hacked. So what do you think about bnb in next 5years?
Is it really worth for long investment?  Will it increase like ether or become dump like others exchange coins?

Honestly you are thinking too far ahead for crypto.  Trying to see where an altcoin might be in 5 years is just a wild guess.  No one on here can tell you where any of these coins will be probably even a year from now on terms of pricing.  If ypu like a project and have the money buy in.  When that projects ideals and output goes sideways or backwards that's when it's time to pull out.  The price will be what it will be.
907  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins that you will be hold till next Bull Run on: September 18, 2023, 07:15:42 PM
Although current crypto market situation is very disappointing. Investors also showing less interested investing in new coins even most of new coins are also shitcoins. Altcoins crypto market pumped a little, a month ago but still no impressive movement is found. Wel  During this situation, what are you thinking and how you preparing for next bull run?  Which Altcoins you are planning to be hold untill next bull run?

I think polygon/matic is a nice project to hold onto.  I'm not into memes or any of the latest and flashiest things that swing wildly.  During this down time the polygon team has continually progressed theor platform and in a bull market could do very well.  Not to up on a lot of these new coins though so not sure about any others.  I like carousing these types of threads to see what people are shilling now a days.
908  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: September 18, 2023, 07:13:20 PM
I think there is certainly cross over.  Anyone who bets often people tend to see them as addicted.  But if they continually win there is nothing saying they can't turn it off and stop.  That's the addiction part when you can't walk away.  But if you are successful at continually making money you might not want to.  Not wanting to and not able to are 2 different things that differentiates whether you are addicted or not, not how much you bet.
909  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When the fun stops on: September 18, 2023, 07:10:55 PM
I think it's really unhealthy if you aremt getting entertainment from it.  When you bet on a sporting game it adds something to the game that wouldn't be there if you didn't care about the outcome.  Once you stop getting entertained I think that is where the addiction comes in.  Some people feel the need to bet, that's when it's time to get help.

Breaking news:

Quote
ESPN Sources: The Blazers have ended trade talks on guard Damian Lillard and plan to bring him back to training camp for start of the season. The blazers had periodic offseason conversations with the Heat — Lillard’s desired destination — but no traction on a deal materialized.

https://twitter.com/wojzspen/status/1703084100712566962

So it seems that Lillard has been ask to go back to training camp as there are no deal made by the Portland management to his desired destination of Miami Heat. This could impact his performance though, and if I'm not mistaken, there are also reports that he might sit out the rest of the season? We will see what's going to happen on Lillard's case here at the start of the NBA next month.

I have read some days ago that Lillard even refuses to take part of training camp with the Blazers. That of course also means he doesn't want to start or play the regular season.
In my opinion that's really shameful. These players sign contracts and have to be held accountable for that. You can't just refuse to do your job. Next to not getting paid these players should also get extra fines for contract violations I think, otherwise this will never end.

Not showing up is damage to the team. Not only do they not have their best player and therefor it's impossible to compete but also they will lose jersey sales. Which fan on Portland thinks about buying Lillard's jersey if they have to assume he is leaving anyway -> missed sales for the franchise.

Yeah, it's really hard to see Lillard sitting this season and not playing for the Blazers. And if you look at his contract, it's about $216 million left. So that is a huge money that they are going to pay him if he is not going to play this season.

Looking very ugly right now, not good for Dame and for the Blazers as you have said, they are losing big money every day that Lillard misses and probably the tickets are also going down as fans doesn't want to watch the game live without him in the Blazers uniform.

That's why there's a contract. If Lillard doesn't violate his contract by sitting out the whole season, then he cannot be held liable for any damages. The Blazers should have already anticipated events like this, as similar situations have occurred in other teams in the past. So, if they choose to keep Lillard but he refuses to play, I think the better solution would be to trade him. In the end, it's not personal; it's all about business and should aim to be a win-win situation for both parties. And if there are losses involved in the decision-making process, at least they can work on minimizing them.

I think it will be an obvious violation of his contract if he is healthy but doesn't want to play. If he is not, or have some kind of injuries, so there's no question about it, he can sit.
It could be a violation of a contract, but there are no legal liabilities associated with it. I believe Lillard's camp is not foolish enough to make a decision that would lead to more significant problems in the end. While he may not be paid for the games he played, it's the team that is affected significantly. As mentioned, ticket sales will drop, and the Blazers will have no chance of making it to the playoffs.

So it will be over like Ben Simmons case in Philly, wherein he doesn't want to play anymore and if I'm not mistaken, he losses millions due to that. But in the end, the Sixers can't do anything but to really let Simmons go and move to Brooklyn Nets.

It seems like a similar situation, so why would the Blazers wait so long before trading him if it's going to lead to him just sitting out the whole season?

You can't just decide not to play and still get paid.  Otherwise people can sign these mega deals and just do whatever they want.  If he is healthy and chooses not to play he would get docked his equal pay for the time he doesn't play.  Anything other than that would lead to chaos, owners would never sign up to that.

It's kind of funny if this is true.  He is a little full of himself in terms of being smarter than everyone else.  Wonder what he thought about when he found out it got swiped lol.  Stopped following him once he started riding elon's coattails on doge and being all anti btc.
912  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 16, 2023, 08:19:29 PM
I agree as Looney will still be on the rotation and if ever Howard will be signed by the Warriors, he will have lesser minutes as Warriors can also do an experiment to play small.

Instead of having Looney or Howard, they can go with Green, that if CP3 will be included with their starting 5,
Chance to see Splash bros with Green, Wiggins and CP3. Small lineup that will focus with good offense to counter
whatever the system of their opponents.
And yet I still believe this will not work out fine.
This is a new roster and I think Draymond Green is way over his head. For a lot of times, a team with so many superstars doesn't work out fine. Take the Lakers and the Miami Heat. Both tried the same strategy but ended up badly.

But, look at what Dallas Mavericks made. Marion, Dirk, Jason Kidd, Terry, and some roleplayers. Chemistry is at the highest level because they know who is the leader of the team. Now, they are breaking chemistry just because they want a super team. It doesn't work. I am repeating it over and over again.a

Yeah, and on the other hand, I read some criticism saying or questioning the Warriors, "Is Dwight Howard the missing pieces for them to win a championship"? My answer will be no, they still need to have a good chemistry inside even if they have the traditional big men in Howard.

There are super teams that work and there are super teams that didn't. So it's really hard to compare them, it's really up how this superstars are going to give up their status, like the DWade and Lebron + Bosh in Miami.

I think everyone is making too much about d Howard.  He was a good piece 10 years ago.  He couldn't land in the NBA last year what is going to make a guy with 20 nba years of mileage on him make a difference for this team.  It's all about steph and klay.

I thought you wanted Kupp and you had a proposal already hehehe. Your offer is Higgins? However, it would be difficult for you because my player is injured and he might not be 100% if plays again after week 5.

Haha, good try, try again if you want but that's a non starter.

ION

Okay but you might regret it. I am hearing some rumors that Stafford will be back to his superbowl winning performance and Kupp might be out of IR on week 3! This will certainly put me in the playoffs hehehehe.

In any case, does anyone else speculate that something is wrong with Aaron Rodgers? He is thin, he is taking mushrooms, he appears strange in some interviews because maybe he was on mushrooms. It is head scratching.

I would not be shocked if it was suddenly announced that he is fighting cancer oDenver.kness.

When they are on the IR I thought you have to be on for at least 4 weeks right?  Otherwise teams would just use the ir all the time to add players weekly.  I think the minimum he can sit is 4 weeks.  I always liked Stafford.  I just don't think the team around him is talented enough to push for a B run
914  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 16, 2023, 03:34:07 PM
Some of the players that have been seen played in the FIBA world cup got their own respective contracts from NBA teams.

Well, it's another international stage and how much more it would be if it's the Paris Olympics next year. There will be more prospect for that tournament and for sure that there are already scouts out there waiting for the talents to show off.

So for me, this is what pushes the Warrior to get a big man, to match up against this player specially in West and Dwight might be a perfect fit for the role.
Many agrees about Dwight as a good addition to the Golden State Warriors as their main big man to face other big men like Jokic.

Dwight is a traditional big man.  Trying to cover a center who plays like a point guard is exactly what they don't need.  Jokic is comfortable playing on the outside where Dwight gets lost on defense.  If Dwight signs it's for a role that plays around 10 minutes or so on the court.  It's not going to be the missing piece to beat denver.
915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can money be saved in gambling sites? on: September 16, 2023, 03:31:12 PM
Not to be mean but this is the dumbest idea for where to "save" your money.  Why wouldn't you just put it in a wallet where you control your keys?  Wallets and gambling sites are not meant to be wallets.  And in terms of saving money, I mean what better place for a gambler to put their money in what can go wrong lol.  Gambling sites are great for gambling, use them for what they are.
916  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 15, 2023, 09:35:50 PM
Oops, something is interesting that has been reported just now. Dwight is in the meeting with the Golden State Warriors. Maybe he's been heard and this is it for his comeback to the NBA. This wall that has been tweeting funnily from Taiwan seems to be serious now about being acquired by the Dub nation.

Just in case this really happens hopefully they will win the championship to help Chris Paul get one. However I'm not sure if Dwight Howard would really contribute to him or the whole organization because let's be honest at this time Howard is far different from his era. Dwight Howard has had two finals appearances and one of them resulted in a championship. He went from losing to the Lakers to winning a championship when he joined the Lakers like Kevin Durant does when losing to Warriors.

Going to be a really old team.  I haven't followed Dwight since he left but can't have to much more in the tank.  I don't think golden state going old is the answer here.  Tends to never really work out but I guess we'll see.  Don't hate the guy so I hope he gets another shot.  When do they announce carmelo to the warriors?
917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Importance of social media channels on: September 14, 2023, 09:19:33 PM
I mean it's a good tool but people rely too much on these social media channels only.  It's definitely useful to know what's going on day in day out but it can skew you the wrong way too.  I've had situations where I was planning on buying a coin but saw the toxic community on a particular outlet and never bought in.  Huge opportunity loss once that coin pumped.
918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 14, 2023, 08:53:20 PM
Anyone has seen this podcast? It's about Giannis reiterating that he might leave the Bucks to search for a team that will give him championships,

https://twitter.com/RossGeiger/status/1701592311392797006

"I'm a Milwaukee Buck, but most importantly I'm a winner… If there is a better situation for me to win the Larry O'Brien I have to take that better situation.”

And with that, I think Giannis will leave the Bucks after this contract has ended and as what we have discussed already, might be looking for teams like the Warriors,  Grin

Could be him postering too, to get the Bucks to put more around him.  I wouldn't take too much into it but if I was a Bucks fan I'd be concerned lol.  He was the best thing to happen to that franchise.  He would look great in a knick uniform:)
919  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $28M stolen from CoinEx - are your funds safe? on: September 14, 2023, 03:55:18 AM
At this point whoever has funds can't be felt bad for.  Exchanges are NOT wallets, and shouldn't be used as such.  Send crypto on, trade and then move of exchange.  What is so hard about this and how many "breaches" or "hacks" have to happen before people wake up lol.
920  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 14, 2023, 03:51:08 AM
Looks like the cracks rare starting to form in New Orleans. Brandon Ingram has said that he has no plans to sign an extension this year and after the season will start evaluating his options. Basically, he’s not going to wait around to see how the Zion experiment goes. I don’t blame him since I think Zion wants out as well.

Matter of time with inflgram but at this point they don't look like they have any direction I'd leave too before he ends up like Dame in the late part of his career with the team never really putting the right pieces in place.  As is they can't compete at a high level.  This is Zions make it or break it year.  On the court he is incredible but that's the issue he is never there.  Shame that body can't hold up in the nba
