Although Srilanka performed well in the Asia cup but this does not mean that they will be able to win the T20 World cup too. There will be other teams like England, Australia, NewZealand with whom Srilanka has to compete too. Also, this world cup will be held in Australia where the pitch conditions will be entirely different as compared to the dubai pitches.
It is hard to underestimate any team with the momentum Sri Lanka have in the T20 format defeating India and Pakistan convincingly and Australia and New Zealand are not in good form in the T20 format, so you cannot underestimate Sri Lanka with the way they played in the Asia cup even though the matches were played in the UAE, pitches during the Asia cup were helping the fast bowlers .
902  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does anyone think it will be much harder to buy bitcoin later on down the road? on: September 18, 2022, 05:29:06 PM

For example, I can simply go on cashapp and buy btc, send to a wallet I own the keys to. I can also use localbitcoins, paxful, I mean the list is kinda endless. Will that list become...not so endless in the future as the value gets higher?
The list is endless and then there are Tier 1 and Tier 2 and 3 exchanges for you to purchase the coins. Valuation of a coin will not restrict the number of places you can purchase the coin but the demand is the factor here and as long as there is enough demand for the coin, you will be able to purchase them without any hindrances.

Regulations is another aspect altogether and majority of the nations will not restrict them but all the exchanges will force the users to undergo mandatory KYC verification in order to user their services.

On the opposite end of the get rich quick spectrum, we have some who are literally giving away their billion dollar empires.

It is also known that Bill Gates and Warren Buffett have pledged their entire fortunes to charities and non profits when they die.
Warren Buffet said he will be giving his money to Bill and Melinda foundation and obviously Bill Gates will be distributing that wealth to anyone he likes and that he is what he did by investing the foundation money in pharmaceutical companies and many other investment by their foundation in companies like Walmart, FedEx etc. I am yet to identify what real changes these foundations have made in improving the life of people.

LOL dude.. you are comparing apples with oranges.

In the Olympic games (and in 99% of the other sports), not even a single non-citizen is allowed in to the playing XI. And in any sport other than cricket, they don't allow a team to be comprised 100% of foreigners.

Sergiu Toma became a naturalized Emirati citizen in 2013, and won the medal in 2016. That is not the case with their cricket players. None of them have Emirati citizenship.
If Sergiu Toma represented Moldova in 2012 Olympics and you claim that within an year he got an Emirati Citizenship, the players in the Cricket team are playing for a long time in the team which means they are settled their for years and it is not that they are taking different players for every series they play, if giving them a citizenship will make a drastic change then what is the logic of all these debates.

Lets say hypothetically if ICC comes up with a stipulation that every player need to have citizenship to be in the team, do you really think that it will be hard for those GCC Kings to give everyone that are playing a citizenship  Tongue.

It's too early to say who will win this T20 world cup. Australian team is no doubt a good team but then Indian team is also looking strong along with the Pakistan team. Before the Asia cup, we were not giving any points to Srilankan team but now since they have won the Asia Cup, they are also a strong team. Afghanistan, England and New Zealand all of them are looking in good form and I think we are about to witness one of the most competitive T20 world cup ahead.
If Sri Lanka play with the same level of intensity like they played in the Asia cup then they will be a team that could challenge everyone because their fielding was world class and i did not see them dropping any catch. Australia will have the advantage playing in their home grounds and England will be the dark horse and you cannot exclude West Indies when all their mercenary players join their playing eleven.
906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Merge Success on: September 17, 2022, 08:11:20 PM
Ethereum Merge Is Done and considered successful, Do you think Ethereum has the solution Bitcoin needs and is this proof of ETH Next Of BTC after normal market?
I am not sure what you are trying to convey here, is the merge a novel solution for something ? It has become more centralized with the transition to proof of staking. I am not sure what are the negative aspects you see with BTCitcoin where the transaction fees are really low for a very long time and if changing the consensus algorithm is the topic you are pushing forward, then never ever will there be a scenario that it will move to POS.

Mate, I think you are missing something and not trying to understand main point which is talk able here if any team having three or four players it's not issue but if you are not able to have any player from native country than what is point of having team from this country and as you give example of many players these all done good jobs in domestic set up and then have citizenship which is a good way for playing into this country but here teams like Oman, UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain having no native player and mostly players are coming from subcontinent and playing for them which is not acceptable and it's also against the rules of Olympics Committee.
A country will pick the players according to the level of standard they can perform and if teams like Oman, UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain is complying with the selection procedure made by ICC and hence allowed to play the matches, then what is the issue with everyone else as it is just a sport and view them like that. Since you mentioned that it is against Olympic committee rules, UAE and the above said nations participates in the Olympic games as well and Sergiu Toma won them a medal in 2016 representing UAE while in the earlier Olympic games he was representing Moldova. So what happened to that rule you mentioned then  Roll Eyes.

If these Gulf region teams want to stay in then surely they need to have grass root links with their native players and bring them in main stream which is a good way for having quality game and better results otherwise teams like Nepal and Kenya will struggle and have no enough sources for competing with them on field.
Life is not a fair game after all, UAE and other Arab nations you mentioned have grass roots in Cricket and if you know the history of the region you will understand as the British took the game to those regions well before the 19th century and they were playing the game.

All these mentioned regions were not as wealthy as they are now 50 years ago and now they have wealth due to the resources available and you cannot expect the elite rich to come out and play Cricket and that was not the situation before that historically.

~
Cricket does not only refer to winning or losing through the game. It can also be identified as a part of a country's culture. It represents a country. For example, today India is easily known by the people of the cricket world and when a big tournament is organized then the organization of the people of that country, all kinds of things come up to the people of the whole world. From this point of view it is better to represent cricket through a country's own players.
Cricket is not even the national game of India and how many matches do you follow in Hockey as it is the national sport . India participates in many sporting events and tournaments globally and only Cricket is getting the publicity which is not fair for other sports and talents.
908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will satoshi come back and give his 1 million btc to users of this forum if BTC on: September 17, 2022, 05:50:57 PM
if BTC is no longer valuable and becomes like token?
Good dream, plenty of shit coins in the market trying to be BTC and it will be a dream forever.

I have heard that he mined 1 million btc and was hoping that BTC would have converted the entire financial system in 10 years.
IF his project fails what would he do with those coins?
BTCitcoin has disrupted the financial sector and if adoption is your concern it will take some time and we are in the right direction. Everyone is worried about the millions of coins Satoshi owns, he does not need to provide any proof on what he wants to do with his coins and no one owes anything  Tongue.

hello guys , i just want to know what is coin flashing or in other terms Bitcoin flashing , what is the purpose of it , as someone approached me and said that he will send me coins, by taking some amount , please help me understand, i googled it but just got a definition , i just want to know its real use case ..
Do not fall for scams, if it is listed in exchanges get from them and what is the point of sending money to random people approaching you. Someone is selling Flash BTC Transaction and has a github profile which looks like a scam.

~
But flash crashing is not any term yet in crypto, or maybe not yet common, but I see nothing related to flash crasing yet as of today.
There were several flash crashes in the crypto market. Here is an article if you are yet to read about flash crashes in the crypto space. With thousands of shit coins in the space flash crashes should be a common term already  Wink.

910  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: September 16, 2022, 07:07:56 PM
Problem is not just with the number of teams. What is the point in having teams such as Oman and UAE which are entirely made up of foreigners? Already India and Pakistan are taking part in the world cup. There is no need to have additional teams, which are entirely made up of nationals from these countries. If countries such as Oman can't include citizens in their squad, then they should not participate in ICC tournaments.
Why does it matter if the teams from UAE, Oman are filled with players from other countries, if they can build a good team and are competitive they will be playing. If you are applying this standard then you need to say that Andrew Strauss, Andy Flower, Grand Flower, Kevin Pietersen should have played only for South Africa and Imran Tahir and Sikandar Raza should play for Pakistan and Andrew Symonds should only play for England.

The reason they are not including their local talents is because they are not interested in playing Cricket nor good enough to play for the national team and if they can assemble a good team, they should participate in any tournament.

I have seen Asad Rauf umpiring in many matches and he was an asset, not only for Pakistan but globally recognized, however, there were corruption charges on him and he was also involved in the 2013 IPL spot fixing. He was banned from umping and these days running up a clothes shop in his native city before he died at the age of 66. What made me sad is that life is so unpredictable, and we never know when our last day in this world will be.
Life is really unpredictable, we lost many users in this forum in the past two years and the pandemic has taken your loved ones as well. This year we saw the demise of Shane Warne as well as Andrew Symonds and now Asad Rauf who was a decent umpire during his officiating times even though there are allegations against him and got suspended for 5 years but i have not seen any reports publicly regarding those fixing charges.

~
Finally India was able to reach 122 runs. This time it is the bottom order players that contributed to the score. The opening and the middle order failed. On the England side it had a good start, the first wicket fell at the 10th over. If there were few wicket fall at the beginning overs, the match could've gone little more closer.
England won the match easily, it was a surprising victory for India in their last match and i was expecting England to bounce back stronger and hence waged for them and the Indian batters failed this time to put a fighting total.

Chimaev nearly managed to disrupted the event because he has got offended because he was called not a real gangster? And instead of apologising, smiled, showed middle fingers and drives smiling in his G wagon in Stockholm. What a douchebag.
The only reason there was a change in the scheduled event is because Khamzat Chimaev missed weight and then the UFC took the Kevin Holland altercation as an opportunity to make that fight. Altercations in the back is nothing new and we had plenty of them in the past and these were built by the UFC if a match up is made to build a storyline to sell more tickets. The crowd was against him and hence he flipped the bird Cheesy.

I read today's news that South Korea has arrested the founder of Terra Do Kwon and five other people because the founder of Terra Luna is facing allegations of violating the country's capital markets law
I hope that the Luna Classic coin will not be affected by this news of the arrest, it is sad to be surprised by this news after the Luna Classic coin witnessed great heights and delighted the crypto community Sad
Do Kwon has an arrest warrant but not sure whether he is arrest, but it is not a surprise because he was a scammer from the beginning withdrawing millions monthly and with the rug pull i am surprised that there are users believing that the coin would pull through. Just move on rather than investing again in this scam as it is not going anywhere and i hope Do Kwon will be behind bars  Tongue.
914  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul VS Anderson Silva October 29th on: September 14, 2022, 10:59:07 PM

Of course, everything is a pre-arranged match, even the winner is already known. For us, the more the show is effective on both sides, the more the pleasure of watching will increase. It's nice to see only Anderson Silva around here, he's a 47-year-old mixed-fighting pro at the UFC, I don't need to tell his story. If it's going to be a real fight, Jake Paul's job is a little hard for me to say. Also, Anderson Silva is an active person, Jake Paul is making strong shots, I know that, but his opponent is the old wolf, Anyway, it's sure to be fun to watch.
If you are thinking this as a circus like the pro wrestling then you are mistaken. Jake Paul fights sanctioned bouts and you cannot fix fights like that Tongue. He might be selecting his opponents and that is how every boxer does and that does not mean that the fights are fixed Cheesy.

Recently they branched out to other fighting style people to come and box with them, the whole Woods vs Jake was a big joke, Woods should have taken him very quickly, I guess age does make you worse, Silva is not young neither, it could be a trouble for him. Once the greatest fighter, now just a cash clown, very sad to see.
Tyron Woods should have but he did not and he got flatlined face first, which means Jake Paul is not a joke and he have some skills as a boxer. Does it translates to elite boxers, he might not but he have the skills to compete.

Sri Lanka won the Asia Cup final in which Pakistan were defeated by Sri Lanka by 170 runs
Sri Lanka won by 23 runs and not 170  Wink. One of the best performance by Sri Lanka, i lost my bet but once i saw the dedication in the field by the Sri Lankan players, saying runs throwing around and their catching was brilliant.

They played as a team and won the tournament, even when they lost the wickets when they were batting, they somehow managed to find a partnership to build up a good total and their bowlers even though they gave many extra runs through wide deliveries they were able to control the match till the end.

Jake Paul has been a pro for 2.5 years already. He is not just a beginner anymore. It is time to step up his level of competition beyond no-hoper washed up athletes if he wants to be treated as anything besides a freak show attraction. It's not a great sign for the state of boxing when this kind of garbage is getting so much hype and media attention.
Two boxers backed out of the fight at the last moment against Jake Paul and he lost millions when Tommy Fury pulled out of the fight the second time and then Hasim Rahman Jr failed to fight citing weight issues and hence he wants to make up for that lost money and hence looking to fight another MMA veteran because he can bank on those fighters as they will show up to fight.

I appreciate the way Jake Paul is able to attract people to watch his fights and it is a great sign and he showed he can be the promoter rather than relying on others.
917  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: September 11, 2022, 06:13:29 PM
If England don't commit any mistake 3rd test is there. Only in 2 days of play 30 wickets have gone down. England just need 92 more runs to win on last day with 10 wickets in hands. All England need to do is just relax and don't make any silly mistakes.
England just need 33 runs to win the match and an entire day left in the match, unless there is any weather interruption they just need half an hour of days play to win the match. South Africa has an inexperienced team and looking at the scoreboard there are new players and i am hearing their name for the first time. After loosing the first two days, i thought the match would end up in a draw but England bowlers bowled really well to have a result.

By the way, Pakistan scored 9 runs and still, no bowl is bowled. Never seen this before.
Dilshan Madushanka is in deep pressure right now.
I should have some patience before placing the bet, the odds i got was 1.4 for Pakistan to win when Sri Lanka lost their second wicket and with the way the wickets were falling, i did not expect Sri Lanka to score 170 runs. They were some missed chances in the field especially from Shadab Khan as he dropped couple of catches in the final overs and those two deliveries went for 9 runs.

It is a total that can be chased but Pakistan needs to pace the innings and hopefully not loose much wickets during the first 10 overs.

Edit: Madushan on a hattrick, loosing back to back wickets at this stage is not great. Cry
919  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 11, 2022, 02:09:37 PM

I think because of that backstage fiasco at the press conference, and he also missed his weight the UFC will not give him the title fight on his next match, but instead he needs to fight one more fight before giving him, Leon Edwards,
If Khamzat Chimaev decides to stick to 170 pound division and willing to fight for the title, the obvious choice would be to fight Colby Covington for the title eliminator but considering it will take a long time to see Usman and Leon Edwards fight again, i wont be surprised if he moves up in division and face another title eliminator for 185 pounds.

Now he will want to go directly to the title match. Khamzat will want to fight Lion Edwards without any effort. I didn't listen to the end of the match, I'm not sure if he wanted it. but I think that was his definite goal.
He did not call out any opponent but he said he is willing to face anyone in either weight division and will fight according to his coaches decision.

There are several reasons for missing weight as Khamzat Chimaev mentioned, he was lifting weights and he thought he will be fighting at UFC 280 and then while he was cutting weight by 4 AM doctors asked him to stop cutting weight and he was adamant that he could make the weight if they allowed before the official weigh ins, if you look at this card, several fighters missed weight including Heavyweights  Grin.

Apart from this NFTs too have striked the market. For now few tokens have gained $200000+ trading volume.
These jokes are undermining the entire cryptocurrency space as we have new shit tokens for everything and anything and surprised to see the trading volume for these shit tokens. Today i had a conversation with some of my old stock trading friends who started cryptocurrency trading after the last rally and they see the entire market as a shit show that could collapse anytime.
