901  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can my ISP tell that i am running a full node ? on: December 08, 2016, 08:00:27 AM
Just wondering recently in light of the UK investigatory powers act, which forces all ISP in the UK to store all web taffic of customers.  Can They tell from data that i am running a full node?   Grin

What if you start using a VPN that "does not keep logs", because of the end-to-end encryption the ISP may not see what are you doing, even thought they will notice the large bandwidth that uses a full node.

if you connect with a VPN all your ISP sees are encrypted connections to the VPN IP address and unless they do a DPI they can not figure out if it is VPN or an encrypted connection.

From this article [1] there is a hope to bypass the Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) and I would recommend OP to use a VPN maybe the nvpn or any other vpn which does not keep logs (they say like that even though they keep logs).

902  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I believe buying a Swiss watch is a positive proof of stupidity on: December 08, 2016, 07:53:38 AM
American Chinese or English watches are way better, more reliable, and offer more value for the same pricing. Let's put this industry down worldwide. Any buying to a Swiss company or corporation is a proof of stupidity or lack of options Smiley

I like my $5 watch and it does it job as well as any other expensive watch so I don't check if it is an american or english watch, all what I need is to work good and have a good design which I like, others are less important. Swiss watches are known for precision and are strong.
903  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: -----SCAM ALERT, 99.9% of coins below this line are scams------ on: December 08, 2016, 07:51:13 AM
Stick to BTC and LTC for this decade until blockchain evolves from infancy.  Everything else is flashy P&D smoke and mirror scam.

Don't put all coins on the same basket, there are many good altcoins which I think they have a good future and some other have new features comparing with bitcoin, and would not put in this list the LTC that you mentioned, I think there are better coins than that.
904  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: never invest your hard earned without reading this. on: December 08, 2016, 07:44:55 AM
Experience has shown that: Trading forex is very risky and most times inexperienced traders jump into trade with they hard earned money without thinking of what they going into. Please advice inexperienced trader here.!!!!!

I have seen that many forex trading websites have a demo platform where new traders are encourage to start there and learn new things by trading "virtually" and not with their real money, so they make an experience, learn from mistakes and then they should join the real forex trading because yeah it is very risky.

906  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: December 08, 2016, 07:38:25 AM
Many people do strange things when selling bitcoin, first they will buy bitcoin, then when feeling lucky will sell bitcoin, and then buying it again and so on. In my opinion this is tiring. Better way is we buy bitcoin and save for a long time and then sell it.

Holding for a long time does not guarantee that you will get a profit for sure, you may end selling cheaper that you have bought. For example people have bought at $1200 and even though they have hold for years it doesn't mean that they can make a profit, the hope never ends but those that experiment (buy/sell) too often those are who make profit.
907  Economy / Services / Re: Envato items on: December 08, 2016, 07:31:05 AM
I can get anything off from envato. 50% of the price and I can provide update for 6months as well.

I obvisouly can go first for good rep members.

Any offer?

I know this is an old thread but while searching I came across to this thread, OP do you still offer this service, I need a themeforest theme and I would buy it for 50% discount or more.
908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: actual number of people using Bitcoin? on: December 08, 2016, 07:09:07 AM
Is there a way to determine the number of people who are actually using Bitcoin till date? Who would have access to such information? Meaning a way to find out, how many new people have used Bitcoin in 2016 , so that we can say exponential growth is natural not artificially created by hoarders.

The only thing I know is the history of each transaction in different exchange platform, but it will be hard to determine it.

It is hard to predict the number of people using bitcoin based on the number of transaction, there are probably lots of people that haven't made any transaction yet (spent) and there are exchanges that have million of transaction which we can't determine the total number of people using bitcoin.
909  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What do you do when BTC shoots up? on: December 08, 2016, 07:07:33 AM
Hi,

I'd like to know what do you think is a good strategy when BTC price shoots up and you feel it's going to come down again.
- hold on to your Bitcoin?
- Sell it for USD hoping to buy it again cheaper?
- Sell it for other crypto (in this case which would you choose)?

When the price of bitcoin is really high comparing with the price that I bought and If my plan is not to sell then I just keep watching when will the price crash because that happens always after a huge pump, if you are an USD/BTC trader then you may sell them and hope to buy again after the crash.
910  Economy / Speculation / Re: is it time to start seriously talking about a $5000 BTC on: December 08, 2016, 07:05:22 AM
we're at $770... $1000 coming soon.

Is it time to start seriously talking about $5000 BTC in the next 3 years?

In the technology world 3 years are very long and through this time many things changes and new inovation come to us. But still I think that it is not the right time to discuss about $5k because that target is really too far. Let's see if we can reach $1k within next year and so on.
911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If a person has millions of Bitcoin and he dies one day................. on: December 08, 2016, 06:57:37 AM
If a person has millions of Bitcoin and he die one day and no body can hack his Bitcoin wallet than what will happen with those Bitcoin? Considering this situation is this possible that Bitcoin will not exists for use in the world any day since limited numbers of Bitcoin can be generated?

What is your thought on this?

Since there are lots of other bitcoin millions then it is not an issue if there are enough bitcoins or not, the price of bitcoin probably will keep increasing because of the demand. And I think that this could be good for bitcoin, not bad.
912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔹🅰RK🔹 [ANN][ARK] A Platform for Consumer Adoption and SBridging🔹Final Week on: December 06, 2016, 06:28:00 PM
If THRESHOLD reaches 99% and not 100% what will happen? Will the participants get their money back 100% of is there any other scenario in this case?

If the threshold is not met then we will provide a refund option on our TEC site where you can input a refund address.

Those who want refunds will receive them.  We will still launch as scheduled just with less funding and possibly a slightly lesser scope for use cases.

Why I asked is because that the threshold is very far away and I'm afraid that that target will not be reached this week (5 days left), I think it was 75% now it is 69% or I'm mistaking?

There will be just a slight delay while we process refunds.  even if we get 99% we will allow for refunds.  we will keep the remaining 1% and the ark from the refunded exchanges and total will be tallied at exactly 2000 BTC.

every person will get to choose if they want a refund or not and those who don't receive a refund will receive ARK at mainnet launch.

OK, but has the threshold percentage changed or I was mistaking it with another website, I think the percentage was at 75% but I see now that it is 69% or maybe it is counted based on the fiat value of bitcoin/waves?
913  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Do you agree if coinbase/exchangers give the data of costumers to IRS/government on: December 06, 2016, 06:22:04 PM
As we know bitcoins is anonymous and very appreciate about our privacy, but the exchangers be asked by government for show up our data to unknowing people.
It is for example and details what is aim they do it.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/expert-any-bitcoin-exchange-may-follow-coinbase-requested-by-irs-to-expose-users

"If they would ask us", I think that most of people would not agree with this because they all want to protect their info and not sharing with anyone else especially the governments which try to track you on every aspect in life.

Alibaba’s Jack Ma: “Everyone Should Have a Bank Account.”

https://news.bitcoin.com/techfin-alibabas-jack-ma-bank-account/

What do you think about this?

Alibaba as far as I know owns or has a collaboration with AliPay which is similar to paypal or something else which you link the card to them and you pay with one click through AliPay (at least in Aliexpress).

Alibaba is not a good exemple. These are typically the easy rich people. They have so much money that they don't care about losing a bit because they are earning a lot regularly, like football players. They're so rich that they reimburse you without doing any kind of verification about your allegations of your product being faulted.

Other big companies should learn from AliBaba they sell billions of things within a day (remember 11.11)
915  Economy / Services / Re: Need VPN (read) on: December 06, 2016, 05:43:36 PM
Need one with either changing US ip or tons of different US locations. Let me know who has one and your offer, along with the service name.

EasyHideIp provides lots of IP, you can download and test the free version and see if it fits your needs then purchase the premium version with bitcoin.
916  Economy / Auctions / Re: Auction - Wallet with 8000 Ethereum on: December 06, 2016, 05:35:22 PM
That's 77BTC worth of ethereum and since I don't know much about bruteforcing I would suggest you to hire a developer and bruteforce the password, if you know how many characters, if it contains symbols, number etc. Better than you nobody knows about this wallet so this idea could be the best for you. My 2 cents.

DEARS

i bought 1000 eth when it was 12$   Angry Angry.buy or sell now with this price (6$) Cry? what's the future? price is 6$ now!!

The ethereum price has changed dramatically now and it's not good for traders especially those who invested when the price was really high comparing with the price that is at the moment!
919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to convince my dad that Bitcoin is a trustful currency ? on: December 02, 2016, 09:12:43 AM
Unfortunately bitcoin takes people's attention when bitcoin is the top news for bad when hackers steal people and sell their data for bitcoin and people will normally hate bitcoin because they consider that bitcoin is being used only by hackers/criminals.
920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we fasten the transaction of payment in BITCOIN paying high fees? on: December 02, 2016, 09:09:11 AM
You should only pay normal fees not very high because it doesn't guarantee that your transaction will get faster included in the block, pay normal but not very high.

lol
if everyone pays the normal fee then its impossible to know who is happy to wait and who is desperate to get on.

dev's need to act like devs and less like bankers and make some actual code that sorts our priority rather than an empty unpredictable fee war

If i pay 0.001 or 0.005 transaction fees then there is no difference that the transaction will get included in the first next block, i usually pay normal fees and it get included in the first few blocks if not in the first.
