921  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is currently the best crypto to invest in? on: September 13, 2023, 08:49:59 PM
I have been a crypto enthusiast for some time now, thou I have lacked consistentency, but over the years I have seen people who have carved out good lives for themselves with crypto, either by direct or indirect investment.,as a result I wish to invest in crypto with cash, but with minimal knowledge,so I seek the help of this house in advise on which crypto to invest in currently as someone who is just getting to learn about crypto currency.

Bitcoin, Bitcoin or Bitcoin is your choices.  Honestly a strategy without bitcoin in your portfolio before so.ething else usually doesn't end up well.  I mean people have made money on other coins I'm not saying that, but for capital preservation leaning in on only altcoins is a historically losing battle.
922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 13, 2023, 08:48:06 PM
You know what the interesting thing is? I feel like if USA brings in that amazing squad, they will not be able to beat everyone with 40 points. I get that they are going to be fine, but I do not think that it will be all that simple. Lebron is older, other nations do have players who he will not be able to guard that well as well.

I think it's quite important to remember that because we are talking about a situation where it is not going to be that easy for them to score. So all in all I believe that we are not going to get that much of a good result, maybe they will get the gold medal again but not as easily as people think it will be. I feel like this is different from the redeem team period, basketball has improved.
Obviously the 10 players we see are or were great players in the NBA at 1 point in their careers, but like you said Lebron is older. Not only Lebron is older , but KD is getting older, dame very old, Kyrie old, and Draymond old. They are still valuable players on their respective teams, but youth is going to wear these old guys out.

If the US sends to Paris a lineup full of mid-30s players then it might end up in a disaster. But I guess it'll depend on the outcome of the playoffs which players are available after a grueling tough season.

Lebron James is the one calling now to join him at the Paris Olympics. It's a bit odd since he's never been in the US team in the last two Olympics which were led by Kevin Durant. Also, Jason Tatum was the second-best scorer after KD in the last Tokyo Olympics. So it's like Tatum (unless he is not playing in Paris) will be sitting on the bench to accommodate Lebron in the starting line-up.

Instead of naming their line-up as a "Redeem Team 2.0", might as well name them in advance as the exact opposite of it because sending a full roster who already on their mid 30s will not end up good. Sure there will be some hype because the names is a blockbuster hit but they cannot live up to their name specially if they will be given a less time to prepare.

Plus, it will be more intense specially if Serbia will call up Nikola Jokic to play with them. We know that they are already a dangerous team and adding Jokic to it will make them deadly as they can be.

Those players in thier 30's that would play on Team USA are still far better than the vast majority of players around the world.  Not to mention they are absolutely significantly better than players on teams that aren't even in the NBA.  Saying this will not work out well for Team USA is a misstatement IMO.  Lebron, KD, Steph might be older, but they are still FAR better than most players on the planet.

If the US wants to win the olympics, they can and will.  That will never change.

Agreed.  For a season long strategy to have all older players never works.  But for a 2-3 run, they are significantly better than throwing cam johnson, Josh hart, Bobby Portis, etc out on the court.  It's not even close.  Now the other teams might also but agreed on the talent level.
923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker strategies on: September 13, 2023, 08:43:47 PM
Besides being able to read other players the ability to turn percentages quickly once new cards are out is the single most necessary skill.  Knowing pot odds goes a long way towards knowing when you should fold call or raise.  Starting hands as well.  Too many people play too many hands.  It's a losing strategy
924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: September 13, 2023, 08:41:40 PM
Wow, third-worst score in the league, but it's good enough for the win.  Grin

Starting the new season the same way i ended last year, with tight games and me needing miracles come MNF (Allen's four turnovers did it this time). Shit is not healthy!

Mandrews is injured, hopefully, he is good to go for week 2, i don't want to stream another TE, though i must admit there are a few names on the waiver wire which i like a lot...both Musgrave and Ferguson could be serviceable throughout the year based on week 1 usage/play.

I'm surprised to see Kenneth Gainwell leading the Eagles' running back corp. 👀 Swift and B. Scott combined for 2 carries (Penny a healthy scratch) to Gainwell's 14 rush attempts. I realize it'll be a run-committee with the Eagles and Hurts will vulture TDs, but a 14th-round pick for him is a steal, at least for me and my zero-rb strategy.

I started off the season with a loss, just like a finished last year lol. Man, it looks like it might be another tough year for me.  Joe Burrow really screwed me though.  But, I certainly don't expect him to continue being that bad going forward.

I wasn't shocked to see Gainwell get the majority of the snaps (Philly beat writers have been saying he's the main guy for some time now), as well as Penny being inactive, but I don't expect this to keep up. Penny is the best RB on this team, no question about it, but I know they are taking things very slow with him due to his injury history.  I've heard they plan to ease him in and really want to make sure they have him for the playoffs.  It's certainly an interesting backfrield right now.

I went light on rbs and got burned with the jk Dobbins season ending injury.  Going to be rough come bye weeks trying to piece together a team worth throwing out there lol.  Lukc of the draw with injuries.  I thought Dobbins was gonna have a great year but dude can't stay on the field it's a shame.  With that being said week 2 here we come!
925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 13, 2023, 03:14:47 AM
You can't exactly ban resting, they will just list those players as injured and since the doctors are the team doctors there isn't really anything you can do about it neither. Yeah yeah I know they will definitely "do something about that too" which they say every year, but first fix the free throws and lack of defense. We complain about all-star games becoming no defense games, people just show their shooting range and all, but regular season games are not getting any better, all those amazing defenders back in the day would foul out in the first minute of the game today. Every year they they will be more careful with the fouls, and every year they give 100 fouls a game. I don't believe a thing NBA says.

Honestly I hear this all the time and I get it, the NBA wants to protect its brand but teams are trying to win championships and if that means sitting players for stretches to keep them fresh then I'm fine with it.  I mean what's the line do they have to play X minutes a game?  It's kind of taking the coaching and strategy away from the coach if some X player HAS to play.  What about back to backs?  Lots of players get rest is that an exception?  Let teams do what they want with theor players that they see is best.  In the end nba wants a competitive playoffs which means having the stars play then so what's the big deal?
926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are trading bots worth using in the cryptocurrency trading? on: September 11, 2023, 08:40:57 PM
Some people rely on them but I personally would not.  Unless you are an emotional trader or make dumb decisions over and over again I'd recommend staying away as each circumstance has its own story especially with how volatile crypto is.  Sometimes it's OK to go down × percentage and stay in a specific position.
927  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Friendly wagers in Bitcointalk on: September 11, 2023, 08:38:59 PM
It's definately already happening here.  As the years go on and you meet some decent people on here there's more of a chance of that happening.  The hard part with crypto is its based on trust, trust that someone will pay or trust that someone won't steal.  If bigger bets were to take place I'd recommend an escrow from here just to keep it clean.
928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 11, 2023, 08:36:38 PM
CP3 playing time to time makes sense, plus if they can put him in the games early on the season, even if he doesn't see the end of the season they could build a team that would handle the early season part easily and win some games, get ahead, and then CP3 could rest a bit and play less games and then end the season stronger.

What I think will happen is that CP3 will probably get about 20-25 minutes per game for about 30 or so games the start, and then he is going to start playing 50% of the other games, which would be about another 20 or so, and finish the season with 50 games like mentioned but at least be well rested for the playoff time. Their small ball line up could definitely be decent if they adjust well.

I can see this happening as well.  I figured 15-25 a game some he might only see the first half  or something.  At that age you can't lean on him for lots of minutes nor would you want to run a cp3/klay/steph for stretches.  I think he is gonna go out there with the 2nd team to run that squad.  Then start blending them in later in the year.
929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: September 11, 2023, 08:34:07 PM
What a brutal day for me.  Got handed to in fantasy, lost jk Dobbins for the year in the process and then had to sit through the night game as a giants fan.  I don't think I have ever seen a worse game than that one right there.  I hope the season doesn't look like that all year
930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bull Run within Q4 of 2024? on: September 09, 2023, 08:31:19 PM
It Isn't possible for tell the adject time when bull session will start but as this is speculation sector, you can feel free to share your prediction about it. Now let me guess! Meanwhile i google about Btc halving and it shows, April 26, 2024.  And if so, then it is possible that bull will within some months after halving occurred. That means possible time could be within 2024? Or 2025? What is your thought? Note: Invest wtih your own responsibility.

People who try to predict bull runs a year or 2 years out are just straight guessing.  Past runs won't line up with the next crypto bull.  But if I had to guess it would be 6-12 months past the next bitcoin halving so possibly end of 2024 we get one going.
931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: September 09, 2023, 08:22:43 PM
I might end up betting the Jets versus Bills game come Monday night (heck of a Monday night game!).  I think that's probably a smart bet, brand new team for Rodgers, could take some time to start to click.

I like the MNF game, but I'm tempted to put small bet on the Jets.  Maybe ML or +3.5, haven't decided yet.  Aaron Rodgers might be on a new team, but his connection with Garrett Wilson looks promising and he still has Lazard and Cobb.  New team or not, having familiar and trusted faces in the huddle goes a long way.  I don't think it'll take more than a few snaps before we see some magic from Rodgers and Wilson.  I'm curious to see how the O-Line holds up for him, though.

On the other hand, betting against Buffalo when it isn't snowing might not be the smartest move.  And I'm admittedly an AR fanboy so it would be wise to take my gambling advice as a shitshow on a popsicle stick.

Previous performance does not guarantee future results, and I'm hoping that's a good thing.  Grin

I think the bills are gonna come out and wreck the jets.  I'm gonna team the line up to -6.5 I think on the Bills.  Too much hype the online is gonna piss Roger's off can't wait til he starts yelling at all of them.  I have to find the over under on wins, I think jets are gonna go something like 8-9 or 7-10.  I'm not buying the hype.
932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: September 09, 2023, 08:17:46 PM
Serbia looks to be better in my mind but I wouldn't be able to say if I am right or not, I could just wait for the finals to happen and see if I am right. I am going to bet a small amount of money for Serbians this time around and see if they will be winning, I bet on Canada to beat them but I was wrong there and Serbia played amazingly as well.

I also think they are a little bit better than Germany, but some sports bookies do not think they are. The odds are saying that Germany is slightly favorite in this match. Maybe they are considering that Germany have beaten the USA so they may be the better team. But I disagree. I think Serbia is better between these two. They have a better defense and offense. But we will see by tomorrow. It will be a good match-up.

On the other hand, the USA is the heavy favorite to win the battle for bronze against Canada.

I will place my bet tomorrow. I am still not yet decided which team to support.

That's why the upcoming Olympics will be more interesting, as we will see how the USA tries to prove to the world that they are still the best in basketball competition. They can bring in veterans with high IQ in the game, maybe LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Embiid, and Leonard. These guys are very athletic but, of course, they should be mixed with younger superstars as well so they can truly dominate. Changing the coach would also be a good idea, as the players I mentioned might not play at a fast pace, which is the reason why Team USA was composed of young players.

Yeah, they will have to field their best players again because they were embarrassed by losing to Germany and if they win against Canada, will just settle for bronze. Maybe, they will form another dream team in Olympics so they will secure the gold and impose their dominance in basketball. But I do not think Lebron James will be included in the lineup. Maybe Durant and Curry will still be good next year for the Olympics.

It starts with the bookies but but the odds sway based on the amount of bets that come in.  If big money comes in on Germany than it will lower theor odds even more.  That's why popular NBA teams like the Lakers always have terrible odds because people bet on them a lot even when they shouldnt be.
933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 09, 2023, 08:15:14 PM
If the US wanted to win this tournament, it easily could.  I'm not sure we will see the US place it's best players back in the Olympics ever again, or at least anytime soon.

Then I think they didn't value the tournament that much, as they didn't send their best players to dominate and win. Well, if we examine the roster of the team, the players are not the best or, let's say, at least not in the top 10 in terms of statistics. But there's no sense in sending players to a tournament if they themselves aren't sure they would win, unless they are underestimating their opponents?

You can certainly make the case that NBA players don’t care about this tournament. Jimmy Butler came out and said as much. I’m sure the players on the floor want to win no matter what though. Sure, the NBA still has the greatest players in the world but the gap is closing and as seen here, without a handful of superstars the gap may be nonexistent.

Some of the games top players are now not from the US.  Doncic, jokic, etc but you are right most of the top players don't want to put extra mileage on themselves, their legacy lies with how many NBA titles they've won not how many international tournaments they won.  If you go deep into the playoffs as well as these other tournaments you break down quicker.  And then there is that chance of injury as well blowing a whole season because of some other tournament.
934  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What would you say makes an Elite Trader stand out among others? on: September 08, 2023, 08:46:16 PM
I recently saw a CEX actively recruiting Elite UK Traders. Does anyone care to shed some light on that? It sorta looks fun and engaging to me, like something I would want to try out

Elite traders and crypto do not mix.  More than a lot of times winning traders are lucky they landed into a pump or something before it shot up put of pure luck.im not saying there aren't methods amd there are some things to sway a better or worse trader but the term elite trader is a joke.

Who hoo won the Detroit game.  It paid put +180 for straight money line.  Without kelce and the first game of the season I figured they would struggle.  The disappointing part of the game was how little theor weapons were used or were effective.  CEH, Pacheco were none existent, sky Moore was a huge disappointment.  We'll see once kelce gets back he changes the game for KC.  Hurts having jones hold out too.
936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 08, 2023, 08:39:44 PM
Sad to see the United States get eliminated before even reaching the Final in the FIBA World Championships. While I don’t think these were the best players we could have sent, it seems like USA’s domination of basketball is losing its grip. They’d better send our best to win the gold at the next summer Olympic Games.

They aren't although I wish they did too.  This was definately not the best of the best by any means for the US but it was a decent group.  I don't think you will ever get a team like the 1992 dream team ever again.  Imagine going up against the likes of Jordan, burden, magic, malone, ewing, stockton, Clyde, nique etc etc.  Just insane.  Think the funniest part about that team was Christian laettner was on thar team.  Should've picked Shaq instead.

Wanted to see the US play in the Finals but Germany was the better team today.  I actually wanted to see US vs Canada in the finals so at least we will get to see that.  As a knick fan it will be fun to see j brunsen and rj compete against each other.  Haven't checked but the odds got to be almost even on that game no?
938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PEPE's $16M Nightmare: Ex-Team Under Fire on: September 07, 2023, 09:15:18 PM
Three former members of the PEPE community are alleged to have stolen $16 million worth of PEPE tokens from the project's multisig wallet and transferred control to the only remaining member.

The anonymous founding member clarified the situation, explaining that the ex-team members stole the funds and abandoned the project, leaving control in the hands of the remaining member. The stolen funds were sent to exchanges for selling, while the remaining member and the remaining 10 trillion PEPE tokens are secured.

The remaining member is now focused on moving forward in the best interest of the PEPE community. This is what happens when you trust anonymous frogs with your money.

Source: https://cointelegraph.com/news/rogue-pepecoin-team-members-blamed-for-pepe-multsig-withdrawal

This is what happens when you actually put your money in memes or things that completely don't make sense.  The whole project revolves around a frog meme.  I mean what did people really expect the "developers" were actually going to do, run a legit project? 😅
939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After FTX collapse, some call for a return to decentralized roots on: September 07, 2023, 09:12:47 PM
Did it really take this fall to realize people shouldn't use exchanges like theor personal wallets?  It's far too late for some people as they don't use nor care to even learn what a real wallet is.  For those in that group they are destined to eventually fall victim.  People should never have used exchanges as wallets in the first place, it's counter to everything crypto was even created for.

Alright lets talk some games this weekend.  I think I'm staying away from tonight's game, I just don't know what to expect..but here's the lines I like for Sunday..

-2.5 Bengals over Cleveland. I love the Brown this year, but Cincy is elite.
-5 Jags over Colts. Jags are on the up and up, colts...ehhhh
-5.5 Vikings over Bucs
+3 Miami over Chargers

These are the spreads I like anyhow.  Few others that I like, but I need to see a game or two from certain teams before I feel confident throwing down on them.

I'm riding that -5.5 vikings line they shoukd eat up the bucs.  I don't know what the over is for the Chargers and Miami game is but I'm taking the over no matter the spread.  As a true Homer fan I'm taking the giants ML in Sunday nights game and for tonight....

I'm taking the Lions Money line.  Lions are gonna give them a huge fight and think that kelce injury is gonna hurt.

Go giants
