4221  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Avalon 741 needed rebooted on: November 06, 2017, 11:56:20 PM
Hey there it may be that the brick powering the controller doesn't have enough power. What are you using?

How is your whole setup wired, including the miner power supplies and what circuits are everything on. I know you mention using a surge protector, what all is plugged into it?

Hopefully we can get this sorted out.
4222  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Is it possible to make a heater with mining hardware ? on: November 06, 2017, 04:33:12 PM
A big consideration with picking up a miner to double as a heater, is will it Roi for you. You still need to buy the miner and the power supply depending on the unit.
So you need to balance the savings on your heating bill (really more of an offset) versus what the machine will earn you.
If it can't last long enough, with enough hashing power to earn back your investment it's a loss overall.
What is your situation? With more info you will probably get a few good options.

Thanks for the transfer, just glad you got everything sorted out.
Thanks for adding the solution as well, I never used those PSU'S so I can add that to the troubleshooting in the future. Hope your new ones arrive soon.

What type of electrical circuit are you on. That PSU says those ratings are in a 200-240 volt service. If you are plugged into a nirmal 110 residential, that would explain a low voltage.

Sounds good, I already have a couple in hand, ordered them right after watching the videos.

Thanks again.

VROBB is right, depending on your climate and type of furnace you can set these up to provide the majority of your homes heat. I'm setting up a few in my basement, and using that for the majority if my electric furnaces air intake.
Don't go overboard without a plan for exhaust, as in any space you can put in to much heat. Mind you to much equipment isn't a problem I have at the moment.
4228  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: https://cryptominersales.com Legit????? on: November 06, 2017, 02:49:30 AM
Hard to say, I ran them through scam advisor and it was given 65% which is better than most scam sites. It is only 9 days old. The sale prices alone combined with free shipping make me think it is a scam.

It's hard not to get sucked in by those sort of prices and the legitimate look of the site, but if you do purchase make sure it is with PayPal, just be sure they don't claim some issue in the system and ask for you to just send it friends and family style. Or use your credit card and make sure you have purchase protection.

Did you ever try swapping the side that the psu's are powering and them check the log to see if mw2 still shows the lame numbers?
Also what type of psu are you running? Brand, I just want to look up the specs.

What type of a circuit are you running on, did it ever achieve higher hashrate, and then drop or is this the max it has reached?

Did you open a ticket with Canaan?
4230  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Avalon 741 mining please help on: November 05, 2017, 04:37:37 PM
If you are running off a single pole 20 amp breaker, that's not 220v. Are you in North America? If so you should be running off a 2 pole 20 amp, for a max of 3 Avalons on that circuit.
The specs you provided for your Psu , state it will not run on a regular 110 v circuit. Also how many Avalon s are you running, you said you have a couple.

Hey, does anyone know where I can get an AUC3? Apparently, you have to purchase this separately along with the miner, power supply, and controller and I didn't order one with my order back on Oct 16'th and I do not see them listed on the MinerWarz website and Caanan is Out of Stock.

I'm pretty sure all previous orders will come with it. My previous 2 orders did, they were packaged in with the miner. It looks like moving forward they are going to start charging for them on the pallet orders from canaan. It still says they come in the package on minerwarez, product description.

You could reach out to Amitylabs they have an eBay store and make high quality PSU'S. They are located in the U.S.
4234  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Problems with getting the Avalon 741 Pi controller set up, any experts here? on: November 04, 2017, 04:41:57 PM
I can't say for sure, when my controller showed up I tried to change my laptop up and I failed miserably.

Do you have a dlink router kicking around I had to use an old one  to connect to the controller and change it to dchp to access my controller from my home network.

That's the only idea I have. Good luck

4235  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Avalon 741 hashing at low speed (0.01 BTC REWARD) on: November 04, 2017, 04:35:50 PM
I added an reward for the person who can help me

Hey there looking at the mw lines I think there is an issue with some of your chips. I can't say for sure but those lines  should all have roughly the same values.

Have you tried swapping the psu's around to see if the log readout is the same, maybe one of your psu's isn't up to snuff.

I would send that I go to a Canaan support ticket they will definitly get you sorted.

If nothing else the reward will probably get you some good responses.

4236  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: THE S7 AND NEW S9 ANTMINERS FOR SALE. on: November 04, 2017, 03:32:02 AM
So the standard questions/ requirements anyone will want are.
Do you accept forum escrow?
Can you post photos with your forum name and the date written on paper in the paper with the equipment?
What price are you asking?
4237  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Ever Decreasing Hash Rate on: November 03, 2017, 11:24:36 PM
That doesn't sound like a coincidence I think your miners are overheating possibly, but would need more info. What do you see for your individual miner stats? I haven't run the Avalon 6's but if you can post some screen caps of your miner logs we might be able to see something. What is the room temperature like? Also are all the Miners on the same breaker??
4238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: D3 unit with APW3++ on 220v line on: November 03, 2017, 11:11:16 PM
Hey there,

So my base electrical knowledge tells me 930 / 220 would be 4.23 amps. From there 42.3 for 10 and 211.5 for 50. Even with 10 you will need a good amount of your panel to run those circuits you will likely need 2 or 3 30 amp circuits( each taking up 2 breaker spaces) and PDU's to match to distribute power to your PSU's. My numbers would be a residential North American service, but to run 50 units you will need to look into a completely different setup and might have to consider transformers and what not, that's well outside my range of electrical wiring knowledge. I hope I helped a little.

but if you post this in the alt coin section you will probably find more support from miners running the D3's. Good luck
4239  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: avalon 741 on: November 03, 2017, 10:26:45 PM
Hey there,

I ran ethernet for my miners, but This setup guide goes over how to run the controller off WIFI, someone else a little while ago said it worked for them, I just can't remember the thread.

Also next time, this would be best in the Mining support thread, or searching and posting in 1 of the other Avalon 741 posts. Good luck
