Hey there,
We need a little more info, what psu's are you using What circuit voltage are you running on? Are they powered up and showing lights? Have you double checked all connections?

Hey there,
You need to post this in the alt coin section. This is just for bitcoin hardware; and you can't mine bitcoin with gpu

I've never heard of yunhui, but you will want to post this in the alt coin section. This is just for bitcoin hardware.

I'm sure you've already checked that the fan is blowing the right way on that unit, I remember there was the one person who had one mounted backwards. I guess if that was the case your intake temp would be higher.
Did the seller clean the unit up before sending it along? It might just be that it caught some dust or an insect or 2 inside. Looks like something is definitely restricting the airflow somewhere.
Did the seller have any snapshots of the units running before sending them along? Maybe they had the same issue.

I'm not sure where you live or how your utility company deals with surges in usage. As long as you aren't selling drugs, and don't have a bunch if shady people in and out of the house at all hours if the day and night you will be fine. Even if they did show up to your place, all you have to do is show them you are running a bunch of computer equipment

Honestly if it is costing you 100$ to have them held there, you might just have to pay the extra customs and try and sort it out later. You likely won't ever recover the funds, but the longer you let it sit the more you pay in holding, lost mining, and you still pay what they want. I'm not even sure what country you are in bit isn't the overpayment a minimum of 150 to max of 300$. I hate overpaying to but sometimes you have to cut your loses

You're right, but as I explained in my post when I was trying to do that with my laptop I didn't get it to work, so I'm providing them with a work around if they can't get this set up.

hey there,
When I first got mine I couldn't get it to work by changing my laptop IP, I followed web instructions it seemed to work, but I'm no expert so after a frustrating hour I did this.
Grabbed a spare D-link router that I had laying around and hooked it up to my home network via ethernet. These come configured to the same 192.168.0 that the PI will be on. then all you have to do is connect the PI to the d-link router and your laptop. once you are on that sub network, you can find the PI's IP address and log into, change the settings to DCHP and you will be all set. hen you can put everything back online with your original home network.
If you can't get set up any other way you can usually find one of these routers for 20 bucks used.
Good luck

Here is another problem with Avalon Controller. It connected and mine through wifi, but i can't get access to the Pi unless i plug the Ethernet cable in. How do i fix it? thanks.
Do you know what the IP of the PI is on your network? As long as the laptop or computer you are using is on the same network you should be able to connect to the PI.

Kinda new too.. but I still don't know how much you need to invest to get RIO within 3 months? or is it take years? (starting new fresh and ready to buy all the hardware that needed..) anyone with that kind of knowledge?
What you need to do is figure out your budget that you have available to buy hardware. Then you can look into Canaan, Bitmain, Ebit, or Pangolin/Whatsminer. These are the current options available for BTC hardware. They all have threads on the forum so read through those to help you decide on hardware. Once you know what you would like to use, find out if it can be profitable with your local electricity rates. punch all that into a profitability calculator. The final decision is up to you whether it si worth it or not. Here is the beginner section it is useful for getting started. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0

The problem with Canaan is that they dont move forward. A year have passed and the latest model is still 741.
If you go check out the Avalon thread you will see that there are some pretty heavy teasers that have been dropped in regards to the A8 series being rolled out Q1/Q2 of next year. Not fuzzy has the link just a few posts up. I was going to order from Bitmain at one point but it became a huge waiting game, and a headache and a half to try and get an order in. This was months ago and I haven't looked back, since getting my Avalons.

I have started my 741's in 5C and they were just fine. What I did notice is that when I did this I did get error codes 512 and 16 on a couple of the EC readouts in the API log. They did not affect anything, and the next time I restarted them they were gone. That was after the miners had heated my garage a little.
What are the scenarios for your miners shutting down? Is it possible to have a space heater or something that comes on when they are offline to keep up a temperature?

If my miner goes offline for any reason (in the recent example offline for 5 hours due to failed surge protector).
Is there a ramp backup delay to get back to full force? I believe I read a new miner takes 7 ish days.
On a related note I have a S9 powered by a EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 P2 80+ PLATINUM. Do I need to run a surge protect between it the power supply and the wall outlet? Shouldn't the fuse in the fuse box just trip if there is a surge?
The fuse would trip but I think the worry is that enough current might pass through before it trips. I could be wrong. I used a whole home surge protector on my panel, for the 150 bucks plus another 30 for a breaker, everything on the panel is protected.

So I made a purchase through them, and figured I would document it.
I found them when they were announced on the Canaan page as an official distributor. They also double as a reseller of Bitmain products, and their current pricing reflects that they were a reseller of Canaan products. I don't know what their pricing will be moving forward if it will be dictated from Canaan or not; only time will tell.
The website was easy to navigate, but can be a little misleading for non US residents such as myself. The payment options were different, outside the US you don't have the option of Paypal, only USD wire transfer or BTC. Also you do not get to put in a different billing and shipping address at the moment, which can ad to your costs if you are planning on using a hosting facility. A nice bonus is that they will bill you for the shipping and send it out direct, you will get hit with your customs/duty and taxes as it comes into your country, which is to be expected.
I found their customer service to be great, when I purchased I selected Wire transfer because I didn't want to lose the stock, and over the weekend communicated with them that I wanted to pay BTC. They made the arrangements, and shipped out the package that Monday. I also know they caught wind of the faulty AUC converters and have been testing the ones they receive to make sure they send out working units.
All in all it was a good experience, and the aftercare was nice, because Fedex must have Punted my box, the casing came damaged and after confirming the Miner worked, I sent them pictures and they were receptive and just asked I keep them in the loop should I notice anything.

The hashrate drop will be minimal, most likely it will resemble the same ramp up as when you first turned them on.

I'm not sure what your budget is but any hardware you buy will have the software side if things solved. Avalon s have a separate controller, bitmain and ebit have Integrated controllers.
Based on the messages you are getti g you are trying to run equipment that isn't powerful enough.
I think it used to be the norm that you needed software to mine because it was done on cpu/you, and maybe even the first few generations of Asics. This is well before my time.
All you need now is hardware, and Internet, and a computer or laptop on the same network to access the controller and it's program.
Before you buy anything do a little research and check with a profitability calculator. Biggest hurdle is your electricity costs.

The air is exhausting out the black fan. The software reported internal temps seem fine. So I'm guessing is just variance of the actual chips inside or difference in manufactured lots. I'm not sure of the internal design of these but I'm wondering if there is a heat sink or something inside that is in contact or transferring heat directly to the housing.
Unless you notice a large dent in the exterior casing your heatsink should be about 1 cm away from the casing. Your temps are in range, a little on the high side. I know that my miners are hot to the touch when they ran in the fall during the warmer weather. Once it got cold all my temps and fan speeds dropped and they became warm, the underside is still warmer. Just keep an eye on the logs and the miners you should be fine.

Hey there,
If you can elaborate a little we could probably help you sort this out. What type of miners are you using bitmain? Avalon? Ebit? Also what is the room setup? If toy can change up the circuit I would go this route instead of using splitters. Either way you should be okay on a 30 amp circuit. And if you can I would suggest setting it up this way. 30 amp 2 pole breaker to a l6-30 receptacle. Now if you grab a PDU, I bought mine used on eBay. You will want one rated for 220-240, and 30 amps ( I think most say 24) which is the max you want to put the 30 amp circuit under constant load anyways. Then you just have to match the cord from the PDU to the PSU for each miner.

I noticed Canaan added a new European distributor. Here is their site. https://www.cryptouniverse.at/You can confirm that off the Canaan webpage. I do see they like everyone have no 741 stock available.
