3561  Other / Meta / Re: merit question on: May 09, 2018, 07:50:23 AM

If that Full member has not sent out any Smerit up to that point they would have 74 75 Smerit
What you do mean by that? There were some default merits and sMerits, which were distributed when Merit System were introduced, so those 250 are probably default merits (does not mean he should have 74 smerits).
sMerits increased only when you receive merits from another member.

This was using OP's example of a Full member acheiving Senior Member status. Full members regardless of activity started with 100 Merit score.

They then needed to be given 150 Merit to reach senior member, of which half would be 75. I did not notice my typo in my post will edit.

Not knowing their previous activity prior to Merit I can't say if they would have been given any Smerit on the day the system was introduced.

3562  Other / Meta / Re: merit question on: May 09, 2018, 07:22:01 AM
For every 2 Merits you receive for posting, you will have the abilioty to send 1 Smerit

If that Full member has not sent out any Smerit up to that point they would have 74 75 Smerit
3563  Economy / Goods / Re: 🛑 Will I get scammed or not? Can you answer with the info I have? 🛑 on: May 09, 2018, 06:08:01 AM
So most scams have a few elements. Here's the 3 I see.

1)If it's to good to be true it probably is. They are promising you will make a profit, and that this is fool proof. Yet they can't show you any valid proof this will work.

2) This is the deal price; rush now before it goes up. It's the same hook infomercials use to get you to spend now and think later.

3) There is no recourse if everything falls apart. They have a newbie account and nothing tangible you can use to recover your funds.

My advice is discontinue speaking with them, and move on. No one hands out free money.

3564  Other / Off-topic / Loss of a family pet on: May 09, 2018, 05:33:07 AM
So as this is the only online community I'm engaged in and it is vast so I thought I'd talk here.

So yesterday me and my family said good bye, to a good boy. It hit us all pretty hard, me and the wife hardest I think.

We adopted both our doggos within a month of each other a little over 10 years ago. They were hopefully friends at the Humane society but if not they developed one and became each others 4 pawed companions, when we were out, or travelling for more than a few days. We also have a kitty they adopted as their own or she adopted them, hard to say she has been with us longer.

While we did get 10 great years with Mcduff, his passing came out of nowhere; Lily our other pooch has been suffering seizures for the last 2 months, and you can see it has aged her; in both energy and demeanor. So when Mcduff began to act ill and show signs of abdominal issues, we figured he ate something he didn't agree, the vet agreed after a visit on Friday,  and pampered him throughout the weekend. Considering he has been our beast with the iron stomach forever we thought nothing of it until he stopped eating and began hiding under the deck(always a terrible sign)

So Monday morning while I was sleeping off a nightshift my wife brought him to the vet, and by Noon we had to make the uncomfortable/sad decision to euthanize our poor boy. The Vet ran bloodwork that morning and it turned out he had developed a form of diabetes and his readings were off the charts.

As I've been logging into the Forum, it does remind me how the last 6 months or so I've dedicated more and more time to my mining rigs and research. With it all still feeling pretty fresh I just wish I had taken a few extra minutes/hours to sit down and pet Mcduff.

Feel free to share your stories, or do as I did last night and drink a toast to all the animals that make our lives great

3566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ravencoin [RVN] PoW GPU Mining | Asset Transfer Blockchain (Updated ANN) on: May 09, 2018, 03:56:36 AM
My Rvn has been lost in my wallet. Is there any way?

What do you mean exactly? The wallet you mine to or sent your bought raven now has a 0 balance?

Or were you keeping it on an exchange?

If it is your wallet you can check the transactions to see if the coins were sent. Is there a chance someone had access to your wallet and your password?

Do you have a back up of your wallet.dat file?
3567  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tel Aviv Court Forces Bank to Accept Funds From Sale of Bitcoin on: May 09, 2018, 03:42:05 AM
Hey there,

Good job finding a good topic for discussion. Something with substance and real news. I would encourage you to move this thread to the bitcoin discussion thread.

I would also encourage you to try and write something in your own words. All you did was copy the bold section at the top, then paste it here with a source. You really haven't contributed anything other than acting as a notification of news.

You can select move to in the bottom left hand side of the screen, at the bottom of the thread.

For my on topic portion,

I'm glad to see the courts around the world being Bitcoin friendly especially when people can prove the legitimacy of their fundings. I know banks and regulators around the world have differing opinions and often flip flop back and forth. Mind you this really only applies when you need to convert to FIAT which for most of us is a must.
3568  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Revival of the Great Silk Road on: May 08, 2018, 11:20:02 AM
I think the new Silk Road is organized by China also in consultation with Russia - China and Russia are now allied on many fronts and on many levels, so I don't thing Russia would have any problems with that.

Russia will view anything that takes away from It's current economic and supply chain norms, ad a threat.

With the economic sanctions that other parts of the world impose as they see fit, Russia tends to rely on its current infrastructure to remain intact and unaffected.

I was waiting fort that response. I'm pretty sure I remember that same post by you in the last few months, probably close to verbatim.

Thanks great read.

It just shows how little I know about the transportation of goods in that region of the globe. I just take for granted the fact that North America moves product with relative ease via semi, train or ports. I never really considered parts of the world not being able to do this.

Again being ignorant to the finer details of rebellious or waring factions in the countries it will pass through;  what is the risk of the rail line being attacked?
3572  Other / Off-topic / Re: 😎 [ANN] The Utmost Epic, Totally Tubular sMerit Giveaway ~ 170 sM Available 😎 on: May 07, 2018, 03:47:26 AM

There is always a right place for a topic.

I disagree. There are many times where the topic you are starting has already been started 100's of times. Use the search function, and do not ask things like:
What if
Code:
BTC is 1 million
it moon
you lose all coin
government ban exchange
satoshi was named sayoshi
you never hear about bitcoin
bitcoin goes to 0
yadi yadi yada

Quote
Reply with relevance to the topic, never spam, try to give a quality statement that might earn you merits.

The reply you are about to type may have already been posted to the thread. A nice rule of thumb is if you can't take the time to read the thread then you probably shouldn't post in it. Do not just go out posting looking for Merits (unless it is a thread offering post review).

OP your post is well laid out, but seriously this is the last thing that should be taught to Newbies. If the only reason they are in this forum is to join a Sig campaign, then they are not going to benefit the forum, and are the reason the Merit system exists. You should start this post by telling them to go out and gain knowledge read up so they can be a valuable contribution to the forum, then maybe join a Sig campaign. This way there won't be another 25 post min. of garbage

As a side note glad you and hellfish, had that trip down memory lane. I'm like a crypto toddler, so I like seeing anything about the old days. I still can't believe some of the shit you vets have been through. I'm going to try and follow some of your mentions and quotes for some light reading during this week of nightshifts. If you have any more good reads post away. I've also been reading through old trust references sometimes you come across some Gems.

For a laugh I checked out Justin Trudeau and found this, his balance is low not to many donations lol

His half brother also got involved in a more significant role, and looking into I have some more history to research

hahahahah... Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy I know eh, their older brothers are being retired. I think some of those poor miners will just be scrapped. Nobody wants to buy them.

That's a damn shame Cry, you'll have to market them as money making space heaters come winter time.

3575  Other / Meta / Re: You are unable to post. How to enable posting. on: May 07, 2018, 02:46:59 AM
Where were you when you created the account via your phone.

If you were using a public WIFI, like at a coffee shop, you may be paying off someone else's "evil"

Also I had no idea this type of message existed I find it comical and hilarious.
3576  Other / Meta / Re: Mod, please check new plagiarism: Reporting copy/pasting, please permban on: May 07, 2018, 02:19:45 AM
So I don't have the skills but how would one figure out if this user has received a permanent ban, and created a new account

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2084651

At least 1 post is an entire copy/past; but oh wait they added the source in at the bottom.

To me this is a tell, that they got caught once and are now trying to follow the rules... technically.

I'll be keeping an eye on the account to see if they slip up.

Sorry if I shouldn't post this here but this is where the hunters hang.
3577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AMAZON EMBRACES ETHEREUM on: May 07, 2018, 02:12:25 AM
Amazon has announced today that users of it’s Amazon Web Services are now able to immediately deploy instances of Ethereum nodes, it gives the choice between deploying a public or private EC2 instant, what is strange is how they have chosen so solely support Ethereum firstly at this point.

This makes it even easier for developers to deploy in minutes a full Ethereum node – public or private and create dApps on the Ethereum network, it also makes the path for private corporations who want to use Ethereum but not on a public network to do so in privacy.

Coincidence that Amazon purchased crypto domains last year?

Amazon last year registered cryptocurrency domains last year such as amazonethereum.com, amazoncryptocurrency.com and amazoncryptocurrencies.com at the time it was pure speculation that they wanted to reserve the domains but it now appears clear Amazon has chosen a clear winner in the long term and that is Ethereum, by registering these domains and then letting users deploy Ethereum nodes today I wouldn’t be surprised if they release something on Ethereum itself.

Perhaps this year we will see an Amazon exchange or token?

Amazon would benefit most from using a blockchain such as Ethereum at every stage of it’s business model it could cut expenses from tracking, payments and much more blockchain could completely reduce Amazon’s overheads if implemented correctly.

So many things wrong with this...

Wow didn't even add 1 original word to the text, well done.

You could at least read the article, understand it and then post it in your own words.

Also you should have put this in the Alt coin discussion thread. Reported to MODS, to be moved

My guess is you have previously been banned for plagiarism, and will probably be found out again rather quickly.
3578  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wallet receive still not done after 4 months??? on: May 07, 2018, 02:04:52 AM

in case it went pear shaped

Had to say this is my favorite british saying lol.

Do you have the transaction Id number from them in any confirmation emails? I'm not familiar with them as a company.

With that info we can track the actual sending of BTC if it was sent. We really need more details.

What was the public address you gave them to receive the BTC. Just the receiving address, do not give out private keys or passwords
3579  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: SELL ANT L3 + PSU FROM GIGAwATT on: May 07, 2018, 01:52:58 AM

LOL  BRO this post is already pass and the item is already sell ...

Then you should change the title to sold/please delete; and lock the thread.

That will prevent it from resurfacing in the future.

I noticed that my miners have been going from "Low" to "OK" very frequently recently. I wonder if there is some issue with Slush's east coast stratum server. Anyone opened a support ticket with them yet?

They're sad your selling of their buddies, it has them feeling low Tongue
