*snip*

Unfortunately, I’m in the boat where I haven’t got mine yet. Bought 2 pallets of 741’s from canaan in December...

Are you sure that the 741's are coming?? Those were end of life and I'm pretty sure everything is sold. did you mean 821's or 841's?

3742  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Preventing rust on the Antminer S9 on: April 02, 2018, 08:24:56 PM

Unfortunately so. At this rate, it is just a matter of time before more controller boards rust dead. Do you think bitmain would still cover repairs under warranty if there are obvious signs of rusting?

I'm gonna say they'll take a hard pass. The likely response would be something along the lines of moisture/environment as opposed to their hardware.

There are places that I think do out of warranty repair but it's at your own expense.

https://shop.bitmain.com/workOrderGuide.htm

#4 on the list is the out of warranty repair in the US. I've never used them so I can't speak to the service.
3743  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Preventing rust on the Antminer S9 on: April 02, 2018, 03:51:50 PM
It's hard to gauge how often you will need to change it out. It might be worth having a dehumidifier, or at least a sensor monitoring the humidity in the room to give you an indication of when the desiccant has stopped doing it's job.

It will also help with the moisture that isn't being absorbed. Then like I said you should be able to place the desiccant on the hot side in the path of the airflow and the warm air should remove the moisture and exhaust with the hot air. This is the process of regenerating your desiccant. You would pretty much just repeat this process as often as is required.

Like I said I've never personally set this up but I think it would benefit you and your machines, hopefully it works out well for you.

If you don't mind me asking are you near the coast in BC is that where the problem is coming from ?

Thanks, I'll give it another try tonight.

lol yeah I know I know. Bitmain is the scourge of crypto. If they could replace you with an ASIC they would! rofl.

You should be able to get 5.5 Mh/s or better with your Rx 570s on stock bios and stock clocks. Use the sgminer version that is listed in the OP of the Raven Coin thread.

I'll check that out. Those are the numbers I was expecting, probably shouldn't have switched to a new OS and coin in the same go. Thanks

EDIT: Calling it for the night, could not get sgminer to launch properly on Windows for the life of me. Kept saying sgminer.exe isn't a recognized command, or something or other, to late tonight, try again tomorrow

Code:
C:\Windows\system32>sgminer.exe -k x16r -o stratum+tcp://miningpanda.site:3666 -u RTpXMvaesBGfDCc6whzu2GoxzMJuvBGSJL -p x --gpu-platform 1 -I 18
'sgminer.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Any of the raven miners here using HIVE and amd (rx 570) cards?

I'm getting pretty garbage numbers ( 120kh/S per card)

I went back to stock bios. I'm using miningpanda pool.

I'm going to switch pools and maybe even try using SMOS( first time) to see if I can get better result.

I'd rather find a solution than abandon mining the coin. Any suggestions would be great

Can I please beg for politeness from all you amazing members; as a Canadian I will be expelled on an ice flow if I do not reach 200 by April 2nd.

Thank you sirs, and sirettes for all your kind consideration.

Sorry if this is off topic I didn't know where to post this
3749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Raven coin on Hive OS low hashrate problem on: April 01, 2018, 11:34:10 PM
I just switched over to Hive and thought it was a great time to mine Raven as well.

My problem is my 5 RX 570 cards are only pulling 430 KH/S total

Looking into it I should be able to get 5 MH/S each.
I reset my bios to stock to try and help and the improvements were minimal.

Also I am using miningpanda for the pool.
Any help?
3750  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Preventing rust on the Antminer S9 on: April 01, 2018, 02:22:47 PM

I really appreciate this suggestion, but I don't understand where exactly you're thinking the dessicant would be within the intake process? The cooling process is passive, with ambient air entering a colder side, where it is run through the miners and exhausted again. The airflow is much too great to not have the dessicant inline somewhere, but it doesn't seem practical to have it right in front of the miners' intake fans. Perhaps lining the walls with dessicant breathers/filters is the best solution.

Yeah, you definitely don't want them near the intake for the miner itself.

What I'm suggesting is where the intake air for your mining room is should have the desiccant located there. This way as the air enters the room the moisture is removed. You could have a wire rack at the air intake with these packets hanging off it. Again I don't know what you have for a set up but this would cut down on the moisture in your air enough that it should no longer be a problem for your miners.

good luck
3751  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Preventing rust on the Antminer S9 on: April 01, 2018, 03:44:54 AM
I don't know what your set up is. If you feel a dehumidifier can't keep up have you thought about placing a dessicant inline with your air intake?

I've never had to set anything up like this myself but it's what is used in boilers to prevent moisture.

What ever it is that you use if you have a hot side to your setup you can use the exhaust air to regenerate your dessicant.

Dear US east-coast miners, we have resolved recent connectivity issue which affected only AWS part of the pool infrastructure. Everything is fully operational now. We apologize for the inconveniences.

Good to know, was just wondering what was wrong with my little farm.
Thanks for the update.

Thanks Phil. The t9 is what I was thinking. Looking at everything though just don't think I can swing it at the moment.

Thanks for the numbers though

Is there any interest in bitmain  $420  coupons.  At  90% off?

Ie 42 each.

Does the coupon come with any stipulation on minimum price before the discount is applied?

Thanks for the offer either way

So now that you've tried to delete the originsl thread  you made you are putting it somewhere else.

Here is the original thread OP  deleted almost this exact same post except that you have less blatantly suggested searings account has been sold.

://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3220573.0

Why couldn't you keep the original post??

EDIT: quoted the post this time so you can't just delete it. While you might be trying to do some good, stop tossing mud sround hoping it will stick. If you want to keep this up do your own research before posting

Ok, Lets tackle about the discussion here.

1. I want to ask you if sending 49 merits isnt an abuse?
2. Are you familiar to those legendary and some reputable members before that sends 50 merits and get tagged when the merit system is newly introduce?

As Clearly quoted above I did not delete it I just move it here to reduce the same topic posted.

And I also do my research on my reports, I didnt report this yet Im soliciting others opinion for this.
If you read carefully that post you will understand why this searing account is suspicious.

"Because what I am telling here is that he must had already the knowledge about merit system because he already receive and send before that means he already experience the system, but why he still asking about it and ignorant about the system, that's is why I suspected that account was sold."

That is the whole meaning of the post in case you dont clearly understand, I cant make it more simplier than that.

1) No it is not Merit abuse. People can decide to send out Merit as they see fit. So if Searing decides that the thread was worth 49 to them than that's where it ends. Merit is subjective.  If it where Merit abuse you would have been able to quote the broken rule.

2) Anyone who would have been tagged in those instances would have either been proven to have alt accounts or had a history of back and forth merit trading.

You did delete the post and ask for the thread to be deleted, you then changed it up slightly and slid it Into this thread. What Silent26 suggested was all of your random and researched suspicions/accusations should be in the same thread. If I'm not mistaken could you not have just locked the thread and left it at that?

This is not that, you created another thread for a single situation and then slid this one in there.

I've already addressed your "suspicions" the fact remains you do not need community support. If you want to sling mud have the balls to stand by it, come up with your own proof, don't just toss this out there and ask the community to decide  for you.

Your meaning is clear your process needs improvement. You think that by continuing down this path you will be merited continuously and rank up. I doubt it people will get sick of all your posts, as is represented by your "neutral" I would say.
Don't bother trying to explain it further I have said my piece do with it what you will.

vlad230 is so lucky Im sure its not his alt Smiley

But I still cant go to a conclusion about this, If this is really a mistake because according on his merit summary he already send a merit from feb.1 and also he already receives merit I wonder why he is still ignorant about the merit system.

The first time I see this I completely conclude that this person just accidentally send 15 and 34 merits but...

I noticed that this person must have knowledge about the merit system because he has sent and received merit points already.
Merit Summary

EDIT: From here I have a suspicion that this account maybe sold to someone thats why he has no idea about the system.

Please give your opinion.

NOTE: Im not accusing anyone this is to clarify if this is a kind of merit abuse or account searing is sold.

3757  Other / Meta / Re: Sometimes there are really lucky person. on: March 30, 2018, 05:45:03 AM
Wow. You are pretty far off base. Searing states that they had sent a merit but didn't really bother learning what the system is about.

I can't speak to their habits most of the time, but I do see them as more of a scam buster from what I remember seeing around the forum.

So I gave them a straight forward answer and left it at that, as they stated they had a large amount of smerit to be able to provide and they chose that particular thread to merit OP.  Which is great so that OP could co to he their service. A service I'll remind you that you have posted in.

You might want to focus more on creating something of quality for the forum rather than sulking around meta trying to burn people

EDIT: From here I have a suspicion that this account maybe sold to someone thats why he has no idea about the system.

EDIT: Your suspicion is baseless
3758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: On the brighter side, ETH difficulty is down. on: March 30, 2018, 05:01:29 AM
The asic resistant technology is just that; resistant.

Not asic proof. Unfortunately with enough time and money bitmain has been powering through with it's Asics development using a well funded R&D team.

The bright side their Asics as reported in don't seem to be a game changer , unless priced ridiculously low. I can't find the article at the moment but I think I saw something like 1000 to 1200w and 220 mh/s; with a cost over 3000$.

The numbers might be wrong can't remember for sure. If I find the article I'll update the post. Also at last check I think the ethereum community is pushing to fork against the miner. Fingers crossed.

3759  Other / Meta / Re: 14 merit bonus for quality users [Jr to Sr. Member] on: March 30, 2018, 04:14:23 AM
I'll give it a go. Regardless of how it turns out thanks for offering the service.

Also if you run out of smerit I'd be willing to send some out.

thanks for the clarification...sent you some Smerit for this thread as you requested...

Thanks. Glad the explanation helped. Well done supporting OP's thread
