People actually still use easywallet?  Cheesy

I hope cex pays attention to the dirty little secret of continuous plummeting of ghs price over the last five months or so. They are going to face angry shareholders. Once the dirty little secret becomes common knowledge, where are they going to find fresh new buyers? Who's going to buy into new ghs when everyone knows that they will LOSE their precious bitcoins? They need to do something, compensate the current holders.

Seriously, what did you expect? For the GH/s-price to remain constant while difficulty and thus mining income go down?

The price of mining hardware and mining contracts should and does go down with increasing difficulty. The Cex.io price actually has gone down less than expected in the last few months. Like most mining hardware, it's still overpriced and unlikely to bring the buyer any profit (unless you engage in trading the price-movements rather than just buying and holding/mining).

But the reason prices remain so high is that there are enough people unwilling or incapable to do math on their expected returns.

It is hilarious because cex offers a profitability calculator right on their page that will help assist you in seeing how unprofitable their shares are.

They love trying to hide their dirty secrets. For example incompetence: http://scatteredthoughtsbymike.wordpress.com/2013/11/14/reporting-a-vulnerability-to-cex-io/

I smell another labcoin type scandal here.
1984  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: RUSHWALLET.COM (Beta) - The Evolution of the Bitcoin Instant Wallet on: December 27, 2013, 08:06:24 PM
Good idea, fail implementation. You'll need to store it in localStorage.

Now everyone says that about Inputs.io
1985  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Serious qestions about CEX.io and other cloud mining services on: December 27, 2013, 01:01:51 PM
@OP Sure someone can convince you that the whole thing is not an huge 'scam' however noone can't convince a believer of anything.

So very true. No one wanted to believe TradeFortress was not trustworthy 6 months ago, when the writing was on the wall. Now he is nowhere to be found and his "true believers" were left with slack jaws.

cex.io will most likely meet the same sort of end.
1986  Economy / Exchanges / Re: ***CEX.IO Cloud mining official page*** on: December 26, 2013, 08:48:20 PM
ghash.io internet adresses  were changed. I just noticed that because i was having problems with my miners connecting with the old adresses....

Was issued  some kind of official notification to the users? Guess communication is not their strongest feature....

Anyway servers are now changed to :
uk1.ghash.io:3333 or us1.ghash.io:3333

No, honest communications aren't their strong suit.

cex is a was of money and time imo

I couldn't agree more.

You're running an exchange, and you're down for a week? ALL my IFC is tied up in Coinex......
1991  Economy / Exchanges / Re: ***CEX.IO Cloud mining official page*** on: December 16, 2013, 07:02:13 PM
some one hacked my account how i can get it back ?

Please open a support ticket via support@cex.io, so we can resolve this issue.

I got warned about them a few weeks ago. Support with this company is non-existent.

KryptoKit was released this week and so far it seems impressive in it's ease of use.

Too bad it requires Chrome.  When I use Chrome, my daily Spybot-S&D always comes up with infections afterwards.

Yes that seems to be a downside for some, here's hoping they release a version for FireFox because I love the concept.
1993  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAMMER] BTCOxygen BTCOxyen.Com on: December 15, 2013, 10:36:26 PM
BTCOxygen defaulted on an investment/loan too. The last communication I received from him was on Sept 1st.
TradeFortress scammer!

I got a glimpse of your website. Nice work and I hope your quest is successful. I wish I had known you back in July.

cex.io is a joke. I still get a kick out of this: http://mentaso.com/bitcoin-news/cex-part-2-the-hacked-account-and-children-playing-grownups.html

Find another trustworthy place to invest your BTC.

+100!

Gotta love those 3 questions..... Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

TBH, cex.io are dodgy full stop. They've even accused me of getting paid to criticize them..... Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

It's all gonna end in tears.

My criticism is free lol. Cheesy

Has anyone had trouble withdrawing NMC, IXC & DVC ? Its taking forever & I do not even see the transaction on the specific blockchains. Interesting enough, my NMC withdrawal email gave me the classic "Invalid confirmation code". The other alt cryptos confirmation emails worked but still 1.5 hours later and nothing. Going to hold off on contacting support, not too worried yet but still the delay is annoying!

No longer a 404 error there guys, in fact there is part two:   http://mentaso.com/bitcoin-news/cex-part-2-the-hacked-account-and-children-playing-grownups.html

I find the article to be extremely accurate in it's detailing of cex.io business practices.
1999  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: CEX.IO "hacked"........? on: December 11, 2013, 05:12:57 PM
"Jeffrey Smith" who replies to all cex.io correspondance is aparently a TradeFortress clone: http://mentaso.com/bitcoin-news/cex-part-2-the-hacked-account-and-children-playing-grownups.html

This sort of thing is becoming far too commonplace. While I like the premise of cex.io, I wish there was a more stable and secure platform like it and not the constant dodgy behavior Mr. Smith seems to exhibit.
2000  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BETA][EXCHANGE][REALTIME] CoinEX realtime exchange with ZERO FEES for beta on: December 11, 2013, 01:29:05 PM

- we admit that the service is very bad right now and it can't continue like this
- we have to shut it down for a while (up to 72 hrs) to deploy the new software
- all mining rewards & deposits that took place before shutdown will be processed
- since the database encryption format is different for the upgrade, everyone's password will be reset to secure 32-character random string and you will have to go through reset password (forgot password) procedure to regain your access
- TFA keys will be migrated properly
- order book will *not* be migrated, you will have to place your orders again

Thanks for improving features, however a little more advance notice would have been appreciated.

Good customer service is hard to find in the cryptocurrency world (I'm looking at you cryptsy). I hope this new implementation will be a success.
