I use this, mainly because I like the block explorer in terminal: https://github.com/chjj/termcoin

For me it is a little fussy, but a really nice design.
1762  Other / Off-topic / Re: Using Intel CPU and Motherboard ? Your Bitcoins may be in actual danger. on: January 06, 2015, 11:59:55 AM
And this special CPU has higher priority when it comes to control of the system than normal CPU. This is disgusting.

It is, rather like Sony secretly installing rootkits as part of their DRM program. Upvoted you on reddit good Sir.
1763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think of services which hold your bitcoins? (aka. Bitcoin banks) on: January 06, 2015, 11:56:14 AM
Blockchain is online BTC wallet, which is developed well enough  Wink

I hope you are trolling. As was mentioned earlier I wouldn't use blockchain.info for anything more than spending money while I'm out, for example.

1766  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: An easy way to filter out non-bitcoin users on forums/reddit/etc, interested? on: January 04, 2015, 04:26:49 PM
I have the buttcoiners and about 99% of the altcoin "devs" and announcers on ignore on reddit. Some still slip in every now and again.

Yeah I wish I had a little more hash to throw at it, but it's a start. The server runs perfect.

Edit: Thanks for the PM, found you guys.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and ignore the 10% premine. Started mining tonight, am building the linux wallet now.

To be honest we should have done an ICO and bought the premine, it would have been much cheaper, but hindsight is 20/20.
The founders of HAM have spent many thousands of dollars and euros out of pocket, and we are still giving coins
away to early adopters and for bounty's. When we have everything in place we will make a big promo push for Amateur radio clubs.
We will need to give many more coins away to entice entire radio clubs to adopt HAM, Some won't get it some will.
free coins go a long way in getting them to try it out. We will also continue to do giveaways to help reward the community for their support.
Although we have a nice start, we have a long way to go  to reach our goal of worldwide adoption of HAM in the Radio community
as well as the crypto community.

Anyone belonging to a Amateur Radio club that would like to be our liaison to help get your club on-board just PM me
and I would be more than glad to assist...

 Wink

No, I'm honestly glad you eschewed an ICO. This coin has an interesting need to fill. My first build failed, trying again :/ (I forgot to populate leveldb)

EDIT: I finished the build, and it all runs smooth. Followed you guys on twitter too. Smiley

1771  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The best way to create an offline wallet? Questions. on: January 02, 2015, 08:34:04 PM
Hi,

I am in the process of creating an offline secure wallet to store my BTC. I am wondering the best way to do this? I am quite paranoid about security so would prefer the approach "the more secure the better", even if it is a pain in the backside to do.

So far I have an offline PC (Ubuntu Server, AMD R9 290)

I have the following questions.

1) What is the best software to use to create the wallet? I dont know if I trust bitcoind or bitcoincore, I am even happy to write my own software if it is more secure (what would I need to look into to do this)
2) Is there any software out there apart from what I have mentioned that can do this?
3) I understand on Linux that it will be using /dev/random and /dev/urandom, are these truly random enough or is it worth investing in a hardware RNG? (http://www.entropykey.co.uk/)
4) is there anything else I should take into account, I am going to print it and have a copy of the private key in my safe and in my parents safe, No-one has access to this apart from them.
You may also want to check out my software - I created exactly for the reasons you've mentioned; being paranoid about the security.
It's open source and you can easily modify it for your own needs, if you are missing any functionality.

Nice, I am only just becoming familiar with go. I will tinker with this a bit.
1772  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When did YOU start using bitcoins? on: January 02, 2015, 04:13:38 PM
Around August 2012. I mined on a crappy windows xp computer because i thought I wouldn't be interested in it long. >.<
1773  Economy / Gambling / Re: Get up to 100% deposit and ref bonus on BitGame - new social gaming platform on: January 02, 2015, 12:02:34 PM
It's starting to look like a scam more and more. He hasn't responded to all the complaints lately, even though he has been active on the forum. I suggest people to stay away from his website.

I hadn't noticed, thanks. He never replied to any of my emails from the get-go, so I just moved on. I don't gamble much but I always liked playing video poker. I wish the site would have developed more.
1774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Problem compiling with all autogen.sh type wallets. on: January 01, 2015, 11:58:53 PM
Did you chmod +x the bitcoind and bitcoin-qt?

Edit: I can't think of anything else right off hand. Strange problem, I hope you can fix it.
1775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New/Custom RPC calls on: January 01, 2015, 09:36:20 PM
What does my signature have to do with scamcoins? Unless you need a way to launder your ico funds when you run, in which case I highly recommend you look into such a service.
1776  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: What should be the punishment for scammers? on: January 01, 2015, 09:33:46 PM
Hashie. Hashprofit. Coins-miners. FutureYields. Mt.Gox. the list goes on...

We will find them. We will catch them. We will make them pay.

What should be their punishment?

My vote?

A. Slavery until double the amount scammed is repaid. Negotiable to 100% if the accused isn't entirely at fault (did they really get hacked?)

B. Death. Yes, the death penalty. (There are too many honest, hard working people falling victim and losing years of their life in the form of hard work to thieves getting a "quick lick." Death to the evildoers.)

What is your vote?

Happy New Years, my resolution is to make this world a better place once and for all.

Death penalty is a little too harsh. Cut off their hands so they can't steal or type anymore is better  Grin

Wow those Sumerian laws are harsh man.

The outcome of this one will be good. Still waiting for a tx id or is there any update?

My mistake, seems my computer is inaccessible from outside the local network. I have posted a 500 x 20 Bounty for the first active 20 nodes.

Your source is as broken as can be.

Code:
root@:~/bitcredits# ./autogen.sh
./autogen.sh: 9: ./autogen.sh: autoreconf: not found

Code:
Makefile.am: required file `./NEWS' not found

Makefile.am: required file `./AUTHORS' not found
Makefile.am: required file `./ChangeLog' not found
configure.ac:11: required file `src/config/bitcredits-config.h.in' not found

Code:
root@:~/bitcredits# ./configure
./configure: line 2750: syntax error near unexpected token `disable-shared'
./configure: line 2750: `LT_INIT(disable-shared)'

Straight to the garbage bin with this one.

Agreed. This was most likely built with a coin generator. Binaries go haywire in WINE too. The fact that it is another ico coin isn't going to help either.

-snip-
Unless you are willing to provide significant details on exactly what you're trying to accomplish, and are willing to accept the knowledge of well studied "experts", I suspect that your "project" won't get very far at all.

IMHO its pretty clear and I have no idea why bitcreditscc tries to keep something a secret that clearly is none,

6m ICO and 87% minable .... wow. Is there like a template for these scams?   Roll Eyes
1780  Other / Meta / Re: Is there cases of members with massive positive Trust that ended up scamming? on: January 01, 2015, 08:47:59 PM
Yes he stole user deposits. I think you are quite right. The WWW is the perfect place for crime, there is no skill required to hide your identity (TOR) so we have to use more multi sig escrow!

I agree multi sig escrow would solve a lot of the issues. Getting everyone to use it seems to be the only issue at this time.
