1741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Users of Bitcoin Core on Linux must not upgrade to the latest version of OpenSSL on: January 10, 2015, 02:19:15 PM
Kind of makes me glad I haven't bothered upgrading openssl in some time.

theymos always presents his chidish arguments that money laudering laws are immoral so what is wrong with presenting that idea to the French public?

Childish? 'Money laundering' is a silly made up 'crime'. Protip2: If a single incident of a so-called 'crime' does not result in at least one single identifiable direct victim, then there are many who would agree that such a thing is not actually a crime at all. I mean - sure - I abide by such stupid laws. But only from a desire not to be thrown in a cage by scary people with guns.

Criminals will always find ways to move money, and if there is a law then there are people that will find ways to circumvent them. Nothing new there.

I followed your link here from reddit. 0 premine is impressive this day and age. I may very well look further in to it as time permits.
1744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Multi Cryptocoin Wallet? on: January 09, 2015, 07:32:34 PM
I had to look up the github but this works with about every coin daemon I have: https://github.com/azeteki/bitcoind-ncurses

Of course you will have to make a configuration file for each coin you use, but I am really liking it thus far. It is lightweight and does not seem to mind at all if you run several instances of it at once. Not a solution for those wanting a fancy GUI but the only one I personally know of.

https://qoinpro.com/d87068b459486f5d8e3ad5ba2bfcbda4

This site is great and has all or most of the popular Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Litecoin, Doge, etc. It also gives you free coins daily and gives you some for referring people, so it's pretty neat. Best of all though is that it has all of your wallets all in one place and you can even make multiple ones. Check it out if you're interested.

qoinpro is not a "wallet" per se. And a ref link, seriously?
1746  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Ciphrex's mSigna ver 0.8.12 beta on: January 09, 2015, 12:50:54 AM
I've been using this wallet for a week and I'm very pleased with the overall performance.
There is one additional shortcoming to point out. You cannot sign or verify messages using your wallet's addresses.

The non-ability to sign messages is kind of a deal breaker for me. Hopefully the developer will add this in the future.

Nice work and may the wind of the windmills always be at your back.  Grin
Ghehehe. You sneaky bastard. Thanks man!

No one deserves it more than you, have known you since the early days and you are always 100%. Good luck.

Think I will at least build it and give it a shot. I agree with OP that inability to import private keys may be a small drawback, but I would at least like to test and then draw a conclusion.
1750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The real problem with Exchanges/Services...it's quite simple. on: January 08, 2015, 05:56:18 PM
Hopefully projects like coinffeine will change the landscape soon. A decentralized solution is the most fitting.

Have there been any updates at all regarding coinffeine? It sounded promising but I never heard if the project had expanded or not.
1751  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin: The magic of mining on: January 08, 2015, 05:20:06 PM
Nice article, thanks for the share. There was a heated discussion (as always) on reddit again today about PoW vs PoS, so being mainly a PoW person myself it was a good read.
1752  Other / Off-topic / Re: Using Intel CPU and Motherboard ? Your Bitcoins may be in actual danger. on: January 08, 2015, 02:25:32 PM
So what is your suggestion then? Should i build my own CPU from my own transistors and mine the silicon myself?  Cheesy

Probably. You may have difficulties sourcing silicon from outside of the reach of the US and NSA. I'm sure they have already hidden exploits in domestic silicon.
Quote from: bitspill
They said they were going to mine the silicon themselves, how does the gov't have hidden exploits in a metal? Maybe it's in the gold/silver used in cabling also

Quote from: LaudaM
Maybe the whole planet was infected by malware on a molecular level. There was probably some discovery on how to manipulate molecules, but kept quiet.
I will have to source my silicon off of the planet.

See? Now LaudaM may be our only hope. They have even fooled the citizenry into believing it is impossible to manipulate objects on a molecular level.

What I don't understand is the coin is in the crapper on C-Cex, but yet there is a shitload of hash on it.  Why?  With the block increase, is this going to be one of those 1 SAT coins?

Gotta mine enough coins before a pump. Makes perfect sense.  Wink

AMD-User ^^
But why dont plug-off the computer / laptop ?!

Best regards

Wake-On-LAN (WOL) can  be used to turn on/off devices remotely. I can't remember where the links are, but a few DELL servers had this auto enabled from the factory.

My reddit thread got silent-removed even though i had like 50 upvotes ?
How the hell does reddit moderation work ?

Should I start to believe in reddit conspiracies or something ?

I don't think it's any secret that reddit has long had corporate backers, but without knowing why the mods removed the thread, it's total speculation. Either way, it makes a mockery of the whole upvote/downvote system, reddit needs a decentalised/uncensorable FOSS clone to supersede the compromised original.

+1 to a decentalised/uncensorable FOSS clone. reddit is definitely not what it was in the "good ole days".
1757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think of services which hold your bitcoins? (aka. Bitcoin banks) on: January 06, 2015, 02:02:04 PM

In terms of security, Blockchain.info kind of in between online wallets and offline wallets. They're not as bad as inputs.io was because you can control your own private keys.

You have a point regarding inputs.io lol. I think you can also get copies of your keys from coinbase now, or am I mistaken? (I don't use coinbase).
1758  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Node.js and Bitcoin on: January 06, 2015, 01:01:22 PM

That looks quite nice, thanks onemorebtc. Cloning it now.

EDIT: Works great, the interface is nothing to write home about but the code runs way more stable for me than the other version I posted.
1759  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Node.js and Bitcoin on: January 06, 2015, 12:51:58 PM
I use this, mainly because I like the block explorer in terminal: https://github.com/chjj/termcoin

For me it is a little fussy, but a really nice design.

I am so gonna port this for offline use Cheesy

If you are successful in doing so let me know lol. I thought it was a neat little project and I guess development on it stalled. If there was a bitcointalk CLI, I'd probably be using it.
1760  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: scam exhange highflyexchange.com fraud on: January 06, 2015, 12:33:22 PM
I have never heard of this exchange. I honestly don't know why people don't just stick to the better-known exchanges. The Devil you know, and all.

That being said, I hope you can recover your funds OP. Always research carefully, then do it again before sending BTC anywhere or using lesser-known services.
