The beginning of a new era:  https://blockchain.info/tx-index/6be69ab8b3faad4ee99c2323a25402413f00409efa0bc4641e84cd416dedab13

The first live block solved with the new software.  It has been deployed on 2 of the 4 public servers now.  I'm also comparing two slightly different variations of the backend on those servers to compare CPU load on the primary thread (network i/o processing).

These new servers are wired in very heavily to the alarm system so that they will alert me if they become unresponsive (not just crash).  After a few days, the remaining backend servers will be updated once the benchmarks between the two variations have enough data available.
I gotta say Elu, I'm litterally shocked at how involved you are... mind you not in a bad way but a good one. Don't get me wrong though, other pool ops are the same way. However, with he pools I have playd around with you seem to be the highest on the ladder with your involvement. That said, I'm just a small miner right now using two AM USB sticks, and while I could ever so slightly increase my payments by going to a "slightly smaller" pool. It's your involvement with this pool tha makes me want to stay, not that I had any thoughts on leaving or anything lol.

Either way, I'm def sticking around for the forseeable future, so soon as my 600Gh/s shows up, I'm gonna plug in in to a few sites for 24hrs to cash out owed balances but they will ulimately be living here !

Ps; That email about low worker warnings, might you add a text message option for phones so we can be alerated while away from home / not near a PC.
1702  Other / Meta / Re: So is the forum owner ever... on: January 17, 2014, 03:58:55 AM
theymos doesn't want to upgrade the forum because he has a bunch of customizations that will need to be ported.

The rumor I heard was that Theymos has contracted a company to build a new forum from scratch.
I hope so because hes amassed one hell of a BTC amoun from "donations" to et something done that if I recall right was supposed to be done well over a year ago. Either way I'm done harping on the subject because if it gets done great, if not then we see what theymos is really like.

So ya, time will tell whether he is going to use these "donations" for what they're supposed to be used for or hold on to them til the dy this orum goes down for good due to a "mysterious and vicious" attack.

I don't know what the deal is with everyone on the US server but I'vee been mining on it just fine for the pas 36hrs.

yes, existing connections are good, just don't reboot as the server seems to be refusing new connections
Well, here's hoping the laptop doesnt bluescreen lol.

Not even sure if I want to submit this post as I might knock myself in the ass lol

I'm seeing rumblings about huge diff jumps coming up as soon as the next one. Anyone have any insight on that? Is it just projection since a lot of heavy equipment is expected to start shipping?
Diff just jumped a lil over an hr ago, it's at 1,789,546,951

Would my php info file help et you that info ? Or you can jus tell me the commands I should run in PuTTy to get the info.

Sorry, I don't know PHP.

Did you try Phraust's Bitminter API for PHP? https://github.com/Phraust/BitMinter_API
Little too involved / complicated for my tastes... was hoping for something simple hat I can just get in to to grab my hash rate and display it as a extual value.

ex. Hash Rate: '.$my_hash.'

Guess I'll turn the API perk off.

Hey Doc, gotta favor to ask... I know next to nohing about JSON etc.

Anyway... I have the API perk activated. I was wondering if you might help me with the code I would need to successffully pull and display my hash rate from your site on my site.

Username on your site is the same as here, MoreBloodWine

Ty.

That depends on which language and web framework, etc. you are using.

Would my php info file help et you that info ? Or you can jus tell me the commands I should run in PuTTy to get the info.

Thx.

1710  Economy / Lending / Re: Requesting 0.09 to be paid back early to mid march... on: January 10, 2014, 09:31:25 PM
One of the other members here has agreed to do some work on my site for a 0.1 fee.

Contact the member (maybe they'll see this thread) and tell them to hold off for a bit until you can raise the funds.  Problem solved.   Wink
I managed to get the funds without a loan and the job was paid for and done quite successfully, just got a new side job for some additional code I need to save for now. Price requested by coder is 0.045, trying to see if I can negotiate down to 0.025.

Either way I guess this post can be considered "solved" or I can edit it in hopes of now geetting a smaller loan, wont know what I'm gonna do til I hear back on the price negotiation request. Butt at least I can now say I inally have bitcoind installed and runnin on my cloud to display stats like current diff, inrease in x blocks etc. on my site(s).

Also sucks we go from 12 blocks a day down to as of right now, 2 ;-/

Hashrate has dropped some. We are down to 6.5 blocks per day. 2 in a day can happen with bad luck, but it's not the new norm.

The hashrate will go back up again.

In any case, ou luck an change with better rates, so hopefully we can et it back up.
1712  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [440 TH] BitMinter.com [1% PPLNS,Pays TxFees + MergedMining,Stratum,GBT,vardiff] on: January 04, 2014, 09:09:35 PM
Seems the las bit of trouble did hurt the pool as I thought it might ;-(

Ws around 418Th and since then is holding steady / slight bouncing around from 377 - 385, I'm almost afraid to think of what it will look like when the new equipments out around the end of next month.
Seems o be holding steady around 375-380 which means we did lose some people / around 38th. Hope we can bouncee back bu that means an infusion of new miners.

Also sucks we go from 12 blocks a day down to as of right now, 2 ;-/
1713  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [450 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: January 04, 2014, 06:08:07 AM
Question - I am relatively new to this all, and I have been mining only with Slush's pool since the beginning of September. I started with a GPU miner at first, then I added 9 ASIC block errupters, and then about a month ago I added a 10g blade. My MHash/s rates are as follows:
GPU = 615 Mhash/s
9 Block Erruptors = 3,050 Mhash/sec
1 Blade = 10,331 Mhash/s

I notice at first I seem to get a decent payout, but it decreases over time. I recently switched to a Raspberry Pi unit to cut down on the power consumption (powered by one of the hubs) and I noticed I am now averaging around 0.00058202 as a Payout for each round, where as for a while I was at about 0.00100000. Is the difference the amount of people/devices mining the same pool or is something else going on? Should I expect it to drop down much more? Or is it just always going to get lower and I just need to keep adding?

Sorry if this is not the right place for this kind of questions

Payout reduces about 50% per month   http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/
If that's the case, then your basically saying someone with say 1Th (or any hash be it higher or lower) after a good long while will earn 0 which is not true, since everyone, regardless of the pool your in and regardless of your hash rate still earns something.

closing the pool

Hey, man. Great pool you had. However, WTF is everyone whining about you closing it, the new p2pool node you run is way better idea! I'm speaking of this: http://stratum.hhtt.1209k.com:9332/static/
I've already made 0.03 bitcoins in that pool and it has been online just a couple of days now.
Maybe I'm missing something but that page doesn't even look complete and how is one supposed to mine off this "new pool" let alone see the hasrate as a whole for said pool ?

It's fully functional, please refer to this: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/P2Pool

All the JSON stuff is working so that I was able to modify my ASIC monitoring script, the pool just found the 3rd block today!
Thx but I look at that and my head hurts lol...

Try joining BTCjam.com, go through the verification and put in a loan application.  It is a great Peer to Peer Bitcoin Finance community.

Mtnminer
BTCJam gets laughed at more than someone trying to get a loan without collateral so I'll pass but ty.
1718  Economy / Lending / Requesting 0.09 to be paid back early to mid march... on: January 03, 2014, 01:52:15 AM
One of the other members here has agreed to do some work on my site for a 0.1 fee. Which is fair for what's involved except that I only have 0.01 and change right now. That said, I'm only mining with two USB ASIC's right now and have 600Ghs due here by late Feb / early March. I can show a processed invoice for a paid in full order. I don't have anything in the way of collateral so chances of this loan being filled is slim, I know. I'm just hoping someone here still has some trust left in them that they might please lend my way, Ty.

I think it might be wise drharibo to post what you actually updated in your latest software update mentioned in post #5475. Now I know the answer is right above it. But as our bad luck has coincided with that, I think that is where people are getting the silly idea you changed how we mine or something.

Where is post 5475?

Mining is up on a backup server while we wait for our main provider to fix their problem. DNS propagation may take a couple min to kick in.
Asics blinking again, Ty.
