For those of you "as of this reply" that mine with with anywhere from 550 to 650 Gh/s in BitMinter of course heh. What do you seem to be averaging per day since the last diff increase and how did it compare to what you were averaging before the increase ?

Downloaded and am running 3.8.1 on Windows XP. I chose 3.8.1 because it's also the version on my rPi.

Anyway, I got the config file set and it seems to run ok and says waiting for devices. However, when I plug in onee of my ASIC 333Mh/s devices I get this.

[2013-12-26 17:31:03] USB init, open device failed, err -12, you need to install a WinUSB driver for - AMU device 2:1
[2013-12-26 17:31:03] Icarus detect (2:1) failed to initialise (incorrect device?)

Anyone able to help me et this working on the laptop ? I ask because my rPi is gonna be MIA for a while so I need to get CGMiner goin on the laptop.

1744  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Shift Length on: December 24, 2013, 05:35:06 AM
I just noticed an increase in the length of each shift from just under an hour to 77 minutes.  Any reason for the change in shift length?

There was just a 23% diff increase and the pool hashrate hasn't gone up recently. That means each shift takes a bit longer. Assuming I understand how this all works which might be a stretch  Smiley

In other news, do the Chili Miners work with the BitMinter client?
The diff increase was just under / around a week ago or as of this reply, 476 blocks ago, next increase is in 1540 since if I recall the increase or derease is every 2016 blocks.
1745  Bitcoin / Pools / When choosing a pool: PPS vs PPLNS vs DGM on: December 22, 2013, 02:26:25 AM
For someone in it for the long haul and never being offline baring any unforseen issues like harware fail or power outages. What should one consider when chosing a pool, I mine with BitMinter right now and don't have any thoughts on changing but I got bored and was looking at some other pools and their "systems" and it got me to thinking.

What should one look at / consider when choosing a pool ? I mean they all seem the same other than the fees assessed and then their pay method be it DGM, PPS or PPLNS and any others I may not know about, Ty.

I knew this was a joke from the original post due to the OP's participation in another thread, I just joined in out of boredom.
1747  Economy / Goods / Re: How much BTC might this fully backwards PS3 be worth ? on: December 20, 2013, 06:16:19 AM

Am I allowed to also ask ps3 related questions ? I also have one that I would like to sell but I am not sure how much it worths.

It is jailbroken or whatever thats called.
It is early ones the fat case
It is not been updated since 2011-12 I am not sure the update version right now.
 I won't pay shipping , I live in Istanbul,Turkey.

How much should I sell this for? Is it even worth buying , Can I clear like 50$ for this ? Cheesy
Any questions or concerns may be posted to this thread IF it is about my system but to people who wish to post things like...

Just got my PS4 today, what's the best game out at the moment?

Need to go make their own post. Since your reply seems o be a joke I am fine with it for now, but people who don't have any thing to ask abou my system should please go and post in their own thread.

1750  Other / Off-topic / Re: Urgent Loan Needed! 1000BTC on: December 19, 2013, 11:36:56 PM
Wow, OP what's your problem?  I said I want to lend you but you don't give me your address, oh well.
I'll give you the address of my vet for 2000 BTC ? Is that acceptable ?
1751  Economy / Goods / Re: How much BTC might this fully backwards PS3 be worth ? on: December 19, 2013, 07:12:26 AM
I have an original early model of the PS3 that is fully backwards compatible with PS1 & PS2 games. Even though yes the PS4 did just come out. I do know for a fact that my PS3 still has great value. So I am curious what it might be worth to some of you if I were to sell it for BTC.

Contents / items included in this query...

1) 1 x Original MGS4 box, game no included.
2) 1 x HDMI Gold Cable
3) 1 x BlueRay Remote missing a battery cover, still works.
4) 1 x Power Cable
5) 1 x 80gb System.
6) 1 x Two Controller charger that also has two USB slots to allow for the simaltaneous charging of up to four controllers.
7) 2 x Dualshock 3 controllers, one functiong while the other just needs a battery.
-7a) Consider it to be one working controller for righ now until the other one that just needs a batery is found.

Also not too sure on how a deal like this would work if I did sell it for BTC since trust has to go both ways and start with someone.

What firmware version is it running?

I might be interested
W/e the current one is, I always keep it updaed but I never pay attention to revisions.

O well nevermind, the reason I'm asking, and probably why other's have and will ask, is that firmware 3.55 and below allowed you to install linux on the ps3.

When people say " Old " ps3's are worth more, that's what they're referring to.

A ps3 fat that has been updated is probably worth 80$ or less
Well, it's possible I might still be on that... I'll power it up and check.

Will edit this reply so keep an eye on it.

Edit: Looks like it's on 4.5, if I could I'd downgrade.

No games, just old hardware. That ain't worth much at all dude. Sorry.
Maybe not to you but the system has value.

That's not too bad then. I'd still set this up as an auction rather than simply asking for offers, though. Start at something low and work up. You'll get what people think it's worth in the end. Worse comes to worse, you can always try it on eBay, though I can see why BTC may be more tempting.
Normally I would try and sell it on eBay but I was hoping to maybe get some BTC to try and invest in more equipment after I get to a certain amoun.

Also, what do you man by "as an auction" in terms of this forum ?

Unless I missed somehin here which is possible, I didn't see an auction section. Even if there is one, how would it work in terms of not selling it if the price in the end isn't to my taste ?

The Auction section is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=73.0

Ty.

You haven't mentioned what year it is from?
Whatever year the MGS4 bundle was released, I'm the original owner bought from BestBuy.

1756  Economy / Goods / Re: Introducing BitTicker - Bitcoin Clock [ Physical ] on: December 19, 2013, 02:19:02 AM
Pre-orders have now been opened to anyone interested in purchasing.

I think you should at least show some sort of physical product before accepting pre-orders.

Thanks for your feedback.

The product will be posted in the coming days.
Any thoughts on my last reply ?

Sorry - forgot to respond.  We will take this into consideration for now.

Producing different heights could complicate the production.
Well, it could be a model B, where as the model A is the one already planned. But I would definately buy if a model B was made.

To answer your last concern, that's what escrow is for.

As for the cost of something like this, since it's used and not exactly in the best condition, you can't expect much. You also need to answer some important questions:

1.) Has the device ever had custom firmware installed on it?
2.) Has it been banned from connecting to the PSN?
3.) PAL., NTSC-NA, NTSC-JP?
4.) Physical defects? Scratches, scuff marks, anything of the sorts? Good to know for people looking into it for collection purposes.

Assuming everything's in working order as you stated, asking for $99 would be pushing the limits. The backwards compatibility is nice, but you need to remember that the first generation PS3 devices were notoriously bad when it came to performance, plus had some major heat issues. Some of them even literally melted because they got so hot under normal operation.

That said, you'd be lucky to get $100 for it.

I'd start with BTC0.1 shipped, and let it work up from there. Just my two cents, though.
1) No, just official stuff.
2) Never, still use it sometimes.
3) North America
4) Not much after a good wipedown, dust n finggerprints.

Still wworks like a champ, I run LHC@Home on it sometimes, ran for a week solid without issue. So I guess I got one of the better units. As ffor notoriusly bad, I've never had a single hiccup on this thing, no even with heat and I'm in an attic room lol. Also, as you used in the opening sentence, not in he best condition, I wouldnt o that far. Other than being used it runs like the day it was new.

I will say this, if I did decide to go and actually sell it. I wouldnt let first gen issues from other units affect price... sure a lot of them had majo issues and went all YLOD or w/e it was but like I said, this things runs like the day it was new IMO.

Edit: FYI, mispellings etc are from a laptop with a keyboard that needs replacing lol.

I'd be interested in it if it were twice the height with the second line able to be linked to say my blockchain.info account to show the combined total of all my wallets like the smartphone app does.
