1901  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [100 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + UserDiff; ASIC tested on: November 09, 2013, 01:09:39 AM
My "confirmed reward" has gone negative.... Slush, do I owe you any bitcoins?
Confirmed reward: -0.01298504 BTC Your confirmed balance from valid blocks

I didn't even think this was possible and am myself curious as to whats up.

Edit: Anyone able to help with: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=327410.0

The mystery was partially solved, as my account page now contains this message:
Notice: The last payment to you was sent twice by a mistake. This has caused that your confirmed reward is temporarily below 0 BTC. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

Strange, but I hope that it is correct.
Partially solved ?

Did you confirm a two times payment to your wallet ?

Is pay evenly split in the pool or based on participation which I think is what, that PPLNS thing or w/e it's called.

At the current difficulty, would it be possible to estimate daily earnings at 5.8+Ghs (18 asic in a 20 port hub) or it that not possible since payouts aare based on what you put in to he pool ?
5.8GH at 511 million difficulty would average 0.00569 BTC/day.
Lol, 1 BTC after a year which yes I know is a dream since difficulty is only ever going to go up. On that note, has it ever been dropped ?
Yes, historically difficulty has dropped, though not often. If you go back to the Fall of 2011 difficulty went from 1.9 million down to 1.1 million (a drop of 40%) from August through December of that year. This was directly because BTC was dropping even faster: from about $10/BTC down to under $2.50/BTC. Miners were turning off their GPUs and selling them.

Don't count on this scenario to repeat itself anytime soon.
Like I said in the quoted reply...

LOL
the 1123 min. one was from Bitminter yesterday. the confirms today are from me paying out. so this is normal? I have never had a transaction take more than 20 minutes to confirm. I guess the one from bitminter that was stuck from yesterday was holding all the later trans. up. I am good now, they have all confirmed. I was worried something was wrong with the network.

I would think that btc price of 320usd or more has made for more transactions. Think of a person that held coins from Last years price of 10 usd. I would think he is selling now.  I would also think outsiders to btc are buying coins like stock .

No, if anyone was wise and had coins from last year they would hang continue to hang onto them as the price is surely going to high $1k per BTC in less than a year, heck it may even go as high as $2k per BTC!

Still, even if it gets that high, it can't last forever... everything pops at a point before it rebuilds.

Edit: With difficulty oing up and people in BitMinter with 200+ GHs, I'm not even sure if this pool will be a good fit for me with pay being based on participation and I'm t best doing 6.5Ghs

Funny thing is it would literally take the admins all of 10 minutes to do it.

That is if nothing goes wrong in the upgrade. And if it does people will be pissed.. they have to test before upgrading.
And 2.0 has been out for if im no mistaken over 4 yrs now... either way, id bet a thousand bucks I could upgrade this site inside of 10 minutes and not break a thing. All it is doing is replacing old iles with new and modiying the DB slightly, that said if the admins here are comoetant (sp?) then they would have nightly backups to replace and even if smarter take a new backup and dump the site in maintenance mode before proceeding.

I'm just sayin theres far to many excuses for not to have somethin done that is easily done without error if people know what theyre doing and by doing this fixes the so called loopholes that make them taake stuff like external avatar links etc. offline.

This pool is great, but I feel like the Terra Hash and its minig pool competitors out weigh by a lot.

Also, "name coin" is pretty useless. If it were LTC, that would be a different story.
I wonder how hard it would be to add / change that.

It's impossible,
BTC & NMC use 'sha256' hash and LTC uses 'scrypt' hash

Well, that said... another sha coin thats better than NMC and still managed would work then wouldn't it ?

I know some well back power the Pi with the usb port, I know some have let the magic smoke out of the Pi doing this.  A quality usb hub well not allow back power through the port.  Power from the usb port is not fused, zero protection.

Big surprise the first I tried to "reboot" my rPi with AMs! Unplug the pwr microUSB and still working haha Roll Eyes
My Pi will be getting it's power from a 1.5ma wall wort, the only USB connections it will have from he hub are from those small house looking ports witth the flatt roof if ya follow me lol.
1912  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: I wana snap my Pi in half and forget I ever saw it... on: November 08, 2013, 12:43:36 PM
This is probably not unique to the Pi.... you need to get all your settings on the client correct to be able to connect to wifi:  same encryption type (usually WPA these days, as WEP is obsolete and unsafe), same key or passphrase, same wifi channel, correct mac address entry if you filter mac addresses.... breaking it is easier, but will not get you connected....

Well, I changed the router to WPA2-PSK (AES), when I chose just WPA, the router told me I wouldnt get full N support without WPA2-PSK (AES). Anywaay, chanel was automatic... I have since set to 7 so I will try aain later and see what happens. Will pot back, would try now but I gotta wait for a secondary SD ccard... I decided to use the 16gb one I got a good deal on yesterday for my camera lol. Got an 8gb SD that should be here in the next few hrs.

Ty thus far my friend !

Edit: Don't know what you mean by filtering addresses but the I know macs are eunique to the hardware connected to the rouer. Thins like IP etc though I have se to auto asign. Then I go in  the router and assign to the device so only i can use said IP.
1913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: how safe are bitcoin mobile apps? on: November 07, 2013, 11:06:21 PM
I use a paper wallet and the Android blockchain app for just viewing. Since I'm in it for the savings, all he app has is my public ky with the provate safely laminated in a dresser drawer. Most apps are generally safe if all they have contained in them if your public key which is usually I guess just for look n load.
1914  Other / Meta / Re: Unable to change my avatar on: November 07, 2013, 11:00:07 PM
Here's the sad part though, SMF 1x branch is old, very old. IF the foroum admins would upgrade to the current 2.0.6 that I use on all my sites this site would be a lot better and not have the security loopholes being experienced. Funny thing is it would literally take the admins all of 10 minutes to do it.
1915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / I guess this is where this goes: Wana check on how to properly get my SD card... on: November 07, 2013, 10:50:55 PM
I guess this is where this goes: Wana check on how to properly get my SD card imaged with MinePeon.

Every guide is different in what it says but they all tend to follow similar guidelines but not when it comes to Win32 Disk Imager.

So here's my question... actually, first read this for a bit of back story: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=327374.msg3513499#msg3513499

Anyway, to avoid any more shock factors, what's the best and easiest way to set up my SD card for my Pi with MinePeon and not have any unallocated space ?

Or do I just do what I did before using Win32 Disk Imager and then delete the E: partiion of 90mb and recreate it to use the 13+ gb of unallocated space ?

Tried this on a dummy 2gb card and the partition cannot be deleted without first removing th logical drive which is all the Pi / MinePeon software.

So ya, now I'm confused and lost as to what to do.

I re purposed the 16b card for my camera since it needed a bigger card anyway and plan on using an 8gb card I just got for my Pi / MinePeon. Either way I know I'm gonna run in to the same thing if I use the Win32 Disk Imager, I'll get a 1.x GB logical drive and a 90mb or so E:\ drive with about 6gb unallocaated. So ya, whats the best way to do this because even if I used a 4gb card which all the guides recomend as the smallest to consider I'd still end up with 2gb unused space which makes me wonder why all these so called guides recomend at least a 4GB card when half of it is lost to unallocated space.

Thx, I guess I coulda googled that but it didnt hit me, I go numb when I get shocked lol

Ok, so I gues it's time to close this thread and now make a more appropriate one as to properly getting this set up for my Pi.

Ty to all for your assistance !

Ok, I think I got it but is this normal for an SD card thats advertised as 16b to only show around 14.8 in size ?

1918  Other / Off-topic / Re: WTH man ! I used win32diskimager on my SD card for my Pi and got this !!! on: November 07, 2013, 10:11:00 PM
Remove the two partition and reformat it?
That's just it, I don't know how as sad as that sounds. I just would like to know why I ot this drastically reduced size. Not too sure on exactly how the image works and if the new size crap is somethin minepeons imaging does to be funny.
1919  Other / Off-topic / WTH man ! I used win32diskimager on my SD card for my Pi and got this !!! on: November 07, 2013, 09:50:30 PM
Ok, so so I got a 16gb SDHC class 10 card for my Pi because it was all the store had & it was only $20 on sale. Anyway, I followed the guides and used win32 disk imager on it to add the mine peon img file. After that I went to the drive in My Computer and viewed it's properties and it's showing used space 0 bytes and 89.8mb free space... so WTF just happened ? I went back in to properties and hit format and nothing happened, still showing the DRASTICALLY reduced drive size.

Edit: This is what computer management shows in XP...

1920  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: I wana snap my Pi in half and forget I ever saw it... on: November 07, 2013, 07:49:08 PM
Sounds like you are on the right track You need to set the wifi encryption protocol to be the same as the router. You might try the closes one to WPA 1-2 Passphrase. I'm just starting on this so I don't remember the exact entry and can't log into it right now.
I swear to go this god damn 360 second thing is PISSING me off. Just lose a good paragraph... I'll probably brak this site beore my pi.

Anyway, the settings never seems to save when I choose WEP to dumb down what I just said that the site raped me on.
