1201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SIXTEEN AND A HALF DAYS for this last difficulty reset?!?!? Way late!!! on: March 30, 2020, 12:13:19 PM
More an excuse to pop this topic up than anything else, but...

If it took 16-1/2 days for this past difficulty reset, that means a lot of miners are turned off, a good 40% or more by my calculations.  Maybe just because the price is down right now, but that's a foolish way to go about mining.

What is your problem with 16 and half day to adjust the difficulty? this is not the first time it take so much time. And now the difficulty is adjusted and the miner takes not so long to mine a new block.

I canīt understand the topic of this thread. We discuss about "is mining senseless" or about what?

Guys may i know PhoenixMiner is for ETH only ?

what Crypto support to mine by PhoenixMiner?

You see the topic of this thread? Nothing more to say.
1203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v15.0 (Windows/Linux) on: March 27, 2020, 02:05:32 PM
Hi!

Anyone experienced GPU0 ( rx 474-574) hashing at 1.3Mhs or 0.0 Mhs instead of 30 ? Maybee its DAG size issue ?

Reboot fixed it, but this dont feel good.

Yep, starts to happen a lot recently. Me too, I suspect it's DAG issue.
Sometime restarts help, sometime I just shut down the miner for a while and after 5-6 minutes it's okay...

It is not a DAG issue. I think to much OC, this lowering the hashrate after a certain time. Some cards going to be bad after a long time of use.
1204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SIXTEEN AND A HALF DAYS for this last difficulty reset?!?!? Way late!!! on: March 27, 2020, 01:33:36 PM
Wow, this difficulty reset that just happened followed a time span of 16-1/2 days, as opposed to the usual ten day cycle.  That means a lot of miners are shut down, and the next difficulty reset will be another big drop.

Since I no longer mine, I don't care about that.  My hopes are that all crypto coin prices are going to crash LOW LOW LOW very soon.  This is what I want to happen, so I can buy as many LTC and maybe ETH and BTC Cash and EOS as I can.  And maybe even a Bitcoin.  Then when the prices eventually rise, I'll ride it to big profits!

I understand having a few machines running just for the hell of it, but really, right now you are a FOOL to be spending big bucks on big mining farms.  Investors looking for a loss they can take a tax deduction on, that's the only way I can see anyone getting the big bucks needed.

And it is a fool's errand.  It is diminishing returns.  It is an exercise in futility.  Difficulty rises, people buy and add more hashpower, to get more coins, so difficulty rises, etc, etc, etc.

I enjoyed having a dozen GPUs pimping out the hashes for me, but I knew when to say enough.  Ultimately, I might have been better served by just buying and HODLing, rather than mining at all, but hindsight, you know?

So the solution?  Stop mining, or at least severely reduce it.  Sell most of your equipment and just buy low and sell high as the market price bounces.  That's what I'm doing.

Yes that is what you are doing. And now?
What will you say us with this thread? Nothing?

It sounds like a kid who didnīt understand mining.
1205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is anyone successfully mining ETH with phoenixminer and windows 10 using SSL? on: March 23, 2020, 01:00:26 PM
Hello everyone,

Is anyone successfully mining ETH with the latest phoenixminer on windows 10 using SSL?

I have recently reloaded several of my rigs with windows 10 and I can't get them to use SSL when mining ETH with the latest phoenixminer.  I get the same error response on all of them that the SSL cert cannot be verified.  The date and time are correct on all rigs.

I still have 3 rigs running windows 7 with the latest phoenixminer that work just fine with SSL.

Scratching my quarantined head right now.  Can anyone help?

Thank you,
Red

yes mining on 10 or more rigs with phönixminer. no problems

1207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Malwarebytes - mining on: March 16, 2020, 09:26:09 AM
I mine an altcoin on my pc but i read somewhere on internet that if you have antivirus it will slow mining proccess in order to staking more fast you should disable antivirus or exclude files. Is that true?

I have MSE and Malwarebytes

What will you know? Impact on mining, yes it can impact mining speed. Impact on staking? EHHHH?Huh? No!!!!
1208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETC is havling tmr, what do you think on: March 16, 2020, 09:23:05 AM
Yup as you know, ETC is halving tmr

What do you think?

What's your prediction? Either on price or in other directions

Well, this virus has been pulling back btc and affected other alts

So i am hoping halving can at least make a little influence on ETC... Smiley Smiley

Block halving? No Block halving, only 20% reduce of the block reward and no it will do nothing with the price at moment. You see the charts all over the world?

1210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 2Gb,4Gb DAG fix, need atleast 1 GPU large enough to generate DAG. on: March 05, 2020, 07:37:52 PM
Theory says yes. but I haven't tried it, I found a video and it seems to work

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRIX5mpVntk

nice nice
i am going to give this a try
going to use gpu0 for vega 56 and gpu1 gpu2 for zotac gtx 1060 3gb

Wonīt work lol. 3GB cards cannot mine ETH or ETC. The video is to old for a true DAG problem. The guy has not raised his virtual memory and he fix this with a 8GB GPU XD lol

I tested:

6 Cards
5x 1050ti with 4 GB
1x 1060 with 6GB

Not working.

Can you guys explain this to me.... Several times I've noticed miner is switching from DAG epoch 329 to 'Generating DAG epoch #0'. I have a mix of 1070, 1060 and 104-100 cards. My 1070 cards are doing 32+ MHs for a short time then miner is restarting with DAG epoch 329 and cards are doing about 27MHs. I understand it's slowing down with bigger DAG but what is DAG for epoch #0.

It's nicehash pool? If so - nicehash can switch on the fly between different eth forks, so it can change DAG's. DAG #0 - is one of this switches to some fork untill it give better profit.

Thanks. Yes it is nicehash. Is it just idling at that time or doing shares?

Why your miner starts with epoch 0. Thats the failure. With Epoch 0 you have full speed, but the Nvidia Pascal cards loose speed with every new Epoch. So 27 is normal with no OC. My 1070 reach 29 - 30 mh at the moment with claymore and tied straps.

anyone else also losing hashrate in the nvidias 1070??? is there a fix so we don't need to push power/core in the cards?

i described so often. It is the same as with AMD R9 290/ R9 390. You will loose hashrate after every new epoch.
1213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best and easiest coins to mine in 2020 on: March 05, 2020, 11:44:34 AM
Also if I mine ETH for $100k investing in Rigs and Cards which would then mine only ETH how much per day I can earn in terms of dollars.

Familiarise yourself with Whattomine for all profitability based calculations.
Look to buy our large farms which would be getting rid of GPU's for dirt cheap, do not buy new.
Do not buy 4GB GPU's anymore, ETH DAG would cross 4GB later this year and they will become useless for mining.

And lastly do not be lazy, do your own research, do not expect someone to do the calculations for you. If you get stuck somewhere, ask in the forums and people will be willing to help.
But ask for help with some data at hand that shows us that you have done your research and are truly in need of help.

Since ETH DAG would cross 4gb later this yr and become useless for mining, what's the alternative if I still wanna make my 4gb cards useful?

We must wait for the ProgPow integration and how they would realize. Then we can discuss about 4GB cards.

Hi everyone,

A new version miniZ v1.5t2 is out with improvements for 150,5,3 – BeamHashII. Smiley

* Improvements for 150,5,3 algo (BEAM). Major (~2-4%) for GTX 1660 Ti, 1080 Ti, and RTX GPUs.
* If mining to wallet you can write --par=beam2.

Download miniZ v1.5t2 here.

We have updated 150,5,3 performance tables (stock, eco, eco70, and max power oc) @ 150,5,3 algorithm performance page.

Few notes:
  * When adjusting your GPUs settings do not forget to test it with --oc1/oc2 since it may boost your performance a little.
--oc1/oc2 changed for 150,5,3 in the new version. For updated information read the specific topic on FAQ page.
  * On Download page you can find Cuda 10 and Cuda 8 versions (Linux and Windows).
For Turing architectures (16xx series and RTX) you need to use Cuda 10.0 versions.

For additional information check our Usage or FAQ pages.
Let us know how it goes!

Happy mining!

Hello,

--oc1/oc2 didnīt work on any algo for me. Not on Beam, not on Zhash/144,5 and so on. It says every time no oc1 or oc2 for this algo.

1216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [POLL] What are miners plans-April ETH 4GB DAG ASIC drop dead & July ProgPow on: March 03, 2020, 08:22:54 PM
There is no need of ProgPow at all. Go to POS.

ETH will support POS and POW.
If POS start, ETH will support both at the beginning. So it needs more than 2 years to go full POS.

Hi everyone!

Recently saw a lot of complains in that thread that 4gb cards cant mine etc.
I have couple of rigs with only 4 gb GPUs, win 10 , not using iGPU. Why im not affected ?

Yes 4GB AMD cards can mine ETC with windows 10. I have no problems at the moment. 4GB Nvidia cards canīt mine ETC on windows 10, because win10 uses more VRAM with Nvidia cards.

I've got two 13.5th S9's. I'm giving up on bitcoin mining, it's been 3 months since I cracked anything. Any advice what to mine with them? Any Altcoins worth the squeeze? Noob to non-btc asics. Appreciate the advice.
What? What do you mean with "3 months since I cracked anything." I donīt understand this sentence.

You can mine bitcoin with it and this is the best option.
