I paid for the early adapters upgrade to Tera because you assured me that it would work out to more than make up for the Giga dividends that I'd then miss, so far it's been 4 payments approx (7 + 7 + 6 + 6 BTC) totaling 26 BTC = about $2,000 that you've held on to, I trust that you will stand by your assurance that this will have been worth it or if it is becoming impractical due to BFL's delays then to scrap that plan, pay past dividends & treat all upgraders as equals when Tera starts.

Here's an Avalon update from the competition btw: https://i.imgur.com/78Iq4Mu.jpg

Bitcoin has any relation with astrology & horoscope?

Bitcoin has any relation with astrology & horoscope?
BTC was introduced on 3rd January,2009. I cast an horoscope for BTC. Moon sign is Pisces, the 10th house (House of Action or Karma) from Gemini, the ruling sign of America,Sun sign is Sagitarius with Mars. Jupiter & Mercury in Capricorn, Venus in Aquarius and Saturn in Leo. Sun and Mars in 10th house strengthens the nodes and network. No computational power can match the MIGHT  of Sun n mars. Jupiter and Mercury in 11th house remainds me of what Mr.PITRUSYAS ( Son  of KALIDASA) says in his work SHATAPANCHASHIKA...Both the powers of jupiter and mercury will solve ONE LAKH problems of Mankind.

Maybe luckyindia uses a different system to me, with a Western one I find the sun to be in Capricorn & the moon to be in Aries, likewise many other planets are shown differently, please to see the third chart posted here.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=75955.0

Edit 1: Please see the third chart in this OP for Dublin, Ireland as being the most likely correct one, the other two charts showing alternatives of different possible locations.

It's a general chart as I chose England for place of birth because of the chancellor's quote put in the first tx*, mostly only effects the moon's position in this if elsewhere, bitcoin is a Capricorn which is appropriate & just look at the bunch of stuff going down in Aquarius, oh & pivotal just about everything to Saturn in Virgo - this Jack of Spades's chart is a serious contender.

[*In the Bitcoin network's transaction database, the original entry has a note by Satoshi Nakamoto that reads as:

"The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks"]

Edit 2: & if it was in Tokyo, Japan - correct local time for first block made.

Edit 3: Chart with the exact UTC & also local time of the first block made if the location was Dublin, Ireland which seems the most probable correct chart atm

Litecoin's Weekly Outlook from 25th March

Later in the week you may be rather unrealistic, so watch you don't sail into something thinking you can't lose. Find the right balance between confidence and common sense.

Atlantis's Weekly Outlook from 25th March

If close partners are not entirely on your wavelength, maybe you need to cajole them into fitting in more with what you have in mind. You may have to give in the first instance to get a response, but it will be worth it. This week you may be overspending because you feel like indulging yourself. Don't assume that if you let money float out of one hand, it will just float back in the other. Such an approach can end up in a minor budget crisis.

Bitcoin's Weekly Outlook from 25th March

There could be communication or travel muddles if you don't keep your eye on the ball. This is definitely your lucky week in however small a way. There will be a lilt in your step and a twinkle in your eye. Look out for a good break or a light at the end of one tunnel.

Will you be making physical LTC if possible anytime soon?

why don't you buy physical LTC from smoothie? Mike has been encouraging competition for a long time. Now that finally some shows up, why not support it? Maybe it'll bring prices down back to sane levels at some point.

I agree with the competition sentiment and have no plans to do LTC.

Thumbs up from Casascius

"You may have heard that Noah Luis aka Smoothie on the Bitcointalk forums has released “Lealana Litecoins”, essentially a physical Litecoin similar to my offering. His current product is a half-ounce silver round loaded with 10 Litecoins, and is available for sale for both BTC and LTC directly from him. I support his efforts and am pleased to see what he has produced."

1 BTC = 12.5kg gold bar 2014.9.13

Edit: same hour as original post for typo

I expect that you meant 1,000 BTC = 12.5 Kg of gold here, yes? May as well make this a competition as well then, I'll have a think about an appropriate prize - maybe a couple of 1 BTC Casascius coins, also I've just started a competition thread similar to the one here but for litecoins this time, with a total of up to 500 LTC being offered in prizes.

1928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / When will Litecoin reach 0.1 Billion USD total value on: March 24, 2013, 02:58:45 PM
I'd like to offer a competition similar to my previous Bitcoin one, but for Litecoins this time, firstly for when the value of a single litecoin will be equal to 1 gram of silver, with a present silver price of $28.64 per Troy Ounce with 32.15075 ounces to 1 Kg, that gives a price of $0.9208 per gram atm for silver against the present LTC price of approx $0.56 each. Note Bitcoin overtook the 1 Gm gold price this week for the first time, see recent posts in the other competition thread.

Secondly for when the Litecoin market cap (number of units issued times price) will equal at least 0.1 billion dollars = $100,000,000
the present market cap is around 11 million USD I believe.

There is a prize of 100 LTC for each competition with a doubling of the prizes for anyone who guesses both correctly for a total of 400 LTC.

Please express date as YYYY MM DD or as 29th Feb 2012 say, thread will be locked on the 1st May 2013 - please don't edit your dates except for typos/clarity or to add a date for either one of the competitions that you haven't yet chosen for but please also make a new post for this so that I see it, my rules & common sense, i.e. if someone puts the same date as one already chosen the first person wins it & ambiguous dates will be void, one entry per pre-existing forum ID & sock puppet accounts will be void if spotted.

Edit: Closest guesses win obviously, dates are by GMT/UTC time & an additional competition for a flat 100 LTC prize, if he does so then when will Mike Caldwell/Casascius first put physical litecoins on sale to the public.

Edit 2: If anyone who would like to add to these prizes then please to let me know.

Edit 3: Price to be taken as on the main/largest exchange at the time, ie atm it's BTC-E.

Edit 4: 2013 03 31 With the silver price making a low of $28.22 per Oz = $0.87774 per gram last Thursday & Litecoin making a high of $0.8247 yesterday we are getting very close, so a small rules change, once the price of litecoins goes over $0.85 or if silver falls below $27.50 per Oz = $0.85535 approx per gram then entries on the 1 LTC = 1 gm Ag part of the competition are closed.

See post #7 for a summary of entries to date, which updates every so often, but quite often, at least daily usually atm.

(Note to self - in future reserve post #2 for this)

1929  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll :: When will Bitcoin reach $1 Billion total value on: March 24, 2013, 01:16:01 PM
You're welcome, you could try & guess also when/if 1,000 BTC will equal a London Good Delivery Bar of say 12.5 Kg, so at present gold prices it would need a Bitcoin price of $646.47 per bitcoin.

I like to collect 1 gram gold bars from different manufactures & just like Casascius coins you pay a premium for this, the melt value atm is $51.72 & the premium is usually less than 80% making them very comparable with the Casascius 1 BTC physical coins atm. I guess if you peal a Casascius coin that too is a bit like then getting the melt or scrap value - ie just the actual bitcoins from the private key.

Yep, it's a feature of the excellent blockchain.info wallets, I expect that you'll need a price of at least $100 if not over by mid April (coins issued to date times value) for $1B, if we hit $100 though I expect that 'the over' part will not be a problem with the news splash that will make, anyway should be a fun month to watch, good luck! I obviously thought it so unlikely that I would win either prize, let alone standing a chance of winning the 20 BTC!!

Thank you, Otoh - this was a really fun competition and is very generous of you Smiley

Build a dedicated mining rig if you wish to mine & mine Litecoins on it, see my sig, with ASICs about to take over the Bitcoin network there's no point aiming for that. Also check out the blockchain.info wallet much more user friendly than the client one.

Can one simply run something like rpcminer-cpu directed to a Litecoin pool or is there some fundamental difference between Bitcoin miners and Litecoin miners?

I have no idea about mining, check the info in the links in my sig or ask on btc-e exchange chat box or litecoin forums if you still need more info, there's lots about mining in threads on the forum in my sig.

Litecoin's horoscope for Saturday March 23, 2013

Saturn, the practical planet of limits, is now in your chart area of personal finances. So you need to be thrifty when it comes to money and possessions. You need to save for a rainy day, get your pension plan and retirement cottage all lined up.

Litecoin's horoscope for the week ahead ~ March 23, 2013

There is no law that says you have to do things the hard way. You may feel that if you have really earned a reward, it means more than if you have merely struck lucky. The universe, though, is not always so fascinated by the traditional work ethic. The cosmos gives freely. It plants abundance. Sometimes, it yields its fruits only after consistent, persistent, effort but sometimes, like a tree in an orchard in autumn, it just bestows its bounty on whoever happens to walk beneath its boughs. Trust that this week.

1937  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll :: When will Bitcoin reach $1 Billion total value on: March 22, 2013, 10:40:08 PM
Yep, I can confirm that 1 BTC first equaled 1 gram of gold on the 18th March 2013, so Scott J with a pick of the 23rd March 2013 was easily the closest & wins a 5 BTC prize, for the $1B prize we would need a BTC price of approx $95 if it was to be in 2013 which seems possible now, if over $100 (?) happens before mid April roughly (need to calculate coins issued times price) then Scott J would win the times two doubling prize for a total of 20 BTC all together.

Scott J - please post an address that you would like your prize to be sent to, many thanks & congratulations!

Edit: just tracking you down, it looks like it's: 1ScottJJpqTCBbTqnPa7Dyak5cfBPhtdh - I've PM-ed you for confirmation.

   >        !

Amazing to think that 1,000 BTC now equals considerably more than 1 Kg of gold atm. Shocked

Funny how the price then climbed about 50% to 1.5 gms Au/BTC over just the next 3 days & then crashed back to about 1 gm again 2 days after that, now somewhere in the middle-ish, maybe 1.25 gms approx.

Edited to add, from the distant future of about Nov 2013, the BTC vs Gold Oz chart:

If Mr BitLotto hasn't surfaced & paid the winnings by April's draw date of 4/4 I will release a PM from him that though it won't help at all to track him down does give a little info on his plans & thinking at the time it was written regarding how he saw BL going forward, there was nothing about it that personally made me any nervous about continuing to play, in fact I bet all told 18 btc on it in March's draw but it may as well go in to the public domain if he's AWOL still then or if the coins move before then which I doubt - I still hold out hope that the situation will resolve itself.

The 1g AU bet seems to be finished and 1B doesn't seem to be far away as well.

2013 03 23 Scott J
This is de 1g AU winner I guess?

And since Scott has the same date for both I guess there's a pretty good chance he'll win both and so 20BTC or about 2000$ by then.

Yep, you're right - ty, it does look like Scott J has won the 1g Au bet as 1g Au = $51.93 atm (laughably close to it's price when I made this poll over one year ago on 2012 01 04 = $51.25 up under 1.5% only), whilst 1 btc which was under $5 at the time has done appreciably better (up over 1,375%) & is now at $71.50 with this jump up which happened so fast from $50 over the last 3 days or so & did occur since the last person's entry of expected value.

I shall review it all over the next couple of days.
