Thanks Smiley

Any Rs that want Test NXT just PM me with your account number. I'll try to send as soon as possible, heading off to sleep so won't be on for another ~ 8 hours.

We r testing Asset Exchange

Go to https://holms.cloudapp.net:6875/ and create an account. Don't use an account that exists on the main network! After u get the account id u can play such a game:

- Post here ur account.
- I'll check the 1st letter of ur nickname. If the letter wasn't used before then I'll send u 200'000 Test NXT, now u r supposed to send 10'000 to each guy who asks for test NXT and has the name starting with the same letter as urs.
- Download an Asset Exchange client and use it to help us with the testing.

@ AE client devs:
Post links to ur client soft, plz.

R

wait till mega Multipools RAPE this

unlikely unless someone makes a fork of cgminer that switches algo on the fly. Doubt anyone will bother just for one coin
164  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: February 10, 2014, 12:54:18 AM
Almost all coins started out like that...

Most coins launch with a working Windows client and plenty of pools. MaxCoin had neither at launch. Then they threw a curveball at people who had no clue how to work a command line client by saying there would be no GUI client for Windows just an hour from release...

I made a lot of BTC off the whole thing so I can't complain, but let's be honest here, the launch was handled very poorly.
165  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: February 10, 2014, 12:12:49 AM
Development on the GPU miner was the reason they needed more time  Roll Eyes

Anyone who doesn't think there wasn't a fully working GPU miner pre launch is delusional.

No need for a pre mine when you can be the only one with a GPU miner for 24 hours.

The  straight up rapid rise in hashrate and difficulty was the first clue.

~BCX~

Doesn't prove that the devs made themselves a GPU miner. Possible, but cudaminer supported MaxCoin prior to release because some of the code leaked out 24 hours before they went live with the wallet. I was mining with my GTX780s as soon as they released the wallet.

Guess what, CUDA mining with a GTX780 is gpu mining.

Leaking the source was cover for having a large prepositioned CUDA farm that gave the devs a huge advantage for about 24 hours. No one had that many spare Nvidia cards lying around and the 24 hour lag till AMD came on the scene was plenty of time to rake it in. This was an absolute stroke of genius as it allowed the MAX devs to reap all the benefits of a premine while claiming it was a "Fair launch" LOL.

~BCX~

Obviously... I'm not an idiot.

You suggested the devs were the only ones that had access to a GPU miner while everyone else was stuck on CPUs, though. That wasn't the case. Anyone with an Nvidia GPU could have joined in.

That said it was a terrible launch regardless.

I will have a working GUI out by Friday. Here is a screenshot of one of the pages in action:

Nice work! Looking forward to the release Smiley

Is it just me or did smalltimeminer's max pool just shut down and take all my coins with it?

Looks like it's back now if you want to cash out coins. I recommend setting a low auto payout so you don't lose much in case of pool issues.

Oh and just tried out the latest build, awesome work, getting 100 % accepts now Cheesy

It was already down to 0.003-ish when the servers were pulled offline. The real crash happened from 0.04 all the way down to 0.007, and the site remained up during that.

I think you are trying to make this into a bigger thing than it is.
170  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 09, 2014, 03:59:25 AM
Anyone know what's the deal is with Coinbase?  Their price is running about $25 over bitstamp right now, which is by far the furthest I've seen them spread.  Usually they're pegged right within a dollar or two of stamp as that's where they do all their orders from (at least, that was the common assumption).  Very odd that they've been sitting between 695-700 while stamp hovers around 670-675.

Anyone know what's going on there?

I think the algorithm accounts for price momentum. For example, if the price jumps up by $10 very quickly, they readjust by +$20-30. Don't have any technical data on this but it's just a hunch from what I've seen.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 09, 2014, 01:03:47 AM
Weird, my fastest worker (3 GTX 780Ti ~ 540 MHash) gets just 80% accepted shares on max.netcodepool.org, but the other two workers (300 MHash and 178 MHash) get 96% and 98% accepted.  As if faster workers have more trouble with the pool. Unusual.

Christian.

My fastest worker gets 95% shares on max.netcodepool.org but some slower workers just 60% shares. So bad that I never seen in my life. I stop mining with this pool. max.hashfaster.com is better for me.

Btw the price drops as I predicted. My prediction for this madness in next two days:
- Price drops to 0.001
- Diff goes up to 100k.

By then mining Maxcoin will be the same profitable as another altcoins.

Just my 2 cents.  Grin

The one thing separating this alt from others is that its being hyped up Kesier though... he's BTC rich, could easily buy up the orderbook to 0.05 for publicity's sake. It went from 0.007 to 0.04 on MCXnow in a matter of minutes the night this was released so could happen again. Who knows. Already made quite a bit from mining so I'll hold onto some of it.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 09, 2014, 12:54:35 AM
I'm getting an 80-85% acceptance rate from my 780s, though they are on the same worker... going to try splitting them up and see how that goes.
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 08, 2014, 07:23:34 PM
Not sure if anyone else is having the same results, but my GTX 560ti is getting about double the hash speed of cudaminer by using cgminer.

I forget how you enable cgminer to use Nvidia

This speed is only for keccak algorithm.

I didn't have to do anything. I downloaded cgminer from http://maxdl.1gh.com/cgminer-windows.zip?nocache=0.4958481655921787

Then set my .bat file to cgminer.exe --keccak -o address:port -p password

Getting 45m/hash for maxcoin where as I was getting around 19m/hash on cudaminer

Tried it but runs way worse for me. ~100 MHash on a 780 versus 160 MHash with cudaminer.

Did you set Intensity to 14? I thought mine was running worse until I upped the intensity..

Nah, left everything default. Just tried it though and getting the same.

Is solomining still really an option? I've got two gtx 780's to throw at it. Anyone having any luck?

I'm thinking that myself. I can either keep my 4 780's directed to 1GH or put them on solo mining. 1GH is almost doing nothing for me now while they're under DDOS. Only reason to keep it at 1GH is if the DDOS lifts during the middle of the night.

well, diff is at 7k, 4 780s probably would find one block per day now or 2 if you're really lucky.

The thing is the difficulty is going up so fast it's probably safer to pool mine, could easily be 14k by tomorrow.

I have 500 MHash and just decided to leave it on 1GH, hopefully the DDOS clears up
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 07, 2014, 11:41:42 PM

Going to give them a try, solo mining doesn't seem viable even with 500 MHash anymore.
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 07, 2014, 08:53:12 PM

Yeah I'm sad too Christian. But it can't be helped since Maxcoin is super profitable. But we have earned enough to make you a birthday party in Ibiza, Christian.

What time is it in your zone now Christian?

almost 10 PM. haven't been to Ibiza yet. ;-)  oh right, it's my birthday in 2 hours.  Just don't remind me that I am getting 40.

why did the difficulty just drop to 1693? it was above 3000 earlier.

Christian

Ypool seems to be down maybe that's why.

Happy birthday btw!
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 07, 2014, 07:50:02 AM
wtf are you running doing 500 mega hashes ? 500000+ kh/s ?

and i figured best performance i think based on usage for me 9400GT is
cudaminer -q -C 2 --algo=keccak -d 1 -i 0 -m 1 -L 128 -l F64x4
seems to be working ok.. about 80% usage and my desktop is not getting laggy while i watch WMC TV ep's Smiley
not sure if there is some other command for those old cards or if they are even suppose to be supported lol

and hey no one answered me either is 0.0mb per warp always normal ?
and is my card always stuck in middle power mode normal ?

scantime ? run it with --help command guys Wink
its there for a reason ..use it

2x780 and 3x770
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Maxcoin is coming very soon to... on: February 07, 2014, 07:25:09 AM
Wow @ at the price there. It's still going for 0.011 on Coins-e.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 07, 2014, 07:02:55 AM
so has anyone successfully mined a block with cudaminer?? it's unclear this works

Diff is really high now. I found like 7 blocks early on but haven't gotten any in the past 4 hours with 500 MHash
