I think all the action going on over at BTER is going to make some other exchanges take a serious look at NXT.

Is vertcoin any profitable? I mean I'm not sure how much it says, but the average hashrate per miners of the biggest pool is over 700 kH/s.
I'm getting 220 kH/s per 780 which compares favorably with the 340 kH I get from a 7970. 1000 kH would get you 500 coins per day at the moment, at the current sell price that's around 0.08 BTC per day. So yeah very profitable assuming the value holds steady, maybe the most profitable coin out? Seems better than Doge even. Do any of the popular trading sites even have support for this coin yet? Or is it just reddit/forum trading still. CoinedUp does: https://coinedup.com/OrderBook?market=VTC&base=BTC

Tried Vertcoin just now, but I am getting CPU validation errors with the latest git build.
2048 is the current N value right? This is what I'm using for settings:
--algo=scrypt:2048 -i 0 -d 1 -H 0 -l T12x32
thank you for noticing in the CPU validation code I just changed j = 32 * (X[16] & 1023); into j = 32 * (X[16] % N); so it should work correctly for ANY N, even non powers of 2. Christian Awesome, it's working now

Really? Dude drop the entitlement...
Excuse me, but you need to drop something yourself. That being the assumption that you know my motives or what type of person I am. You don't, so knock it off. It was a sort of tongue-in-cheek comment, but I can see how the humor doesn't come across very well without knowing the intent of the post. If it were intended as you framed it, why would I follow up the comment with a polite request for updated binaries? Anyway I'm getting the prerequisites together as we speak s I can compile it myself. I was not aware that a trial of VS2010 could be used to compile, but now I know. Thanks for the snap judgment, though. Makes my day when some snooty know-it-all gets something totally wrong. Next time drop the egoistic notion that you've got everything figured out, and you'll be less likely to make the same mistake again. Thanks cbuchner1 for your continued effort. Ok - I just don't find posts like that constructive when you could have just asked for help instead (I compiled a version of this for a guy that asked). You're right I shouldn't have judged what type of person you are from that post. I apologize, let's move on. On-topic: I tried the new build today, getting up to 4.5kh/s with T68x4 and -L4 on a GTX780. It usually hovers more around 4.3.

Thanks, I really want your exchange to get a lot more volume. Your exchange is much better than all others. It is simple, easy to use and functional. All others are just a pain in the ass.
Completely agree. This would be the only NXT exchange I'd use if it had more volume.

It's really unfortunate that this seems to have become an exclusive club for those who can compile the source code for all these new features. The rest of us are left out in the cold, having to wait months I guess while our cards become increasingly useless over time. I was really hoping to take advantage of the scrypt-jane for yac/qqcoin but by the time binaries are released with the latest features, the amount of yac/qqcoin I'll be able to earn daily with my GTX 670 won't be worth it anymore.
I'd like to throw in a request to perhaps update the main binaries a little more often than has been the case for the last month. New versions could always be labeled as incomplete/use at your own risk, etc...
Really? Dude drop the entitlement... it is still under heavy development and I bet you'd be one of the first to complain if something doesn't work right too. People have posted instructions on how to compile, and I think a few have posted binaries as well.

Nice to see the alt forum getting filled with NXT clones I'm interested.

The Litecoin of NXT, brilliant.
Interested.

Good luck with this. I purchased some NXTs in an exchange and tried to install the wallet. Talk about unintuitive. I sold them back. Maybe this will turn out alright for you all, but right now NXT makes Bitcoin seem user-friendly.
Easier to use clients are coming soon. Bitcoin wasn't user friendly at first either, the initial builds had no GUI at all, only command line.

How is NXT closed source? are you smoking crack?
Show me the source, Luke! When you do, I'll have a new IPO, 1 billion The Next NXT (TNN) coins issued! This argument about the source not being open is getting tired. Java code can be easily decompiled with a few clicks and on top of that the NXT devs make no attempt to obfuscate the code (unlike eMunie).

That's BTER's address, I think.

Apart from this jump today because of Bter.com, the price is depressingly not going anywhere - actually moving down.
You would think that NXT would gain a momentum by now, that it be proven that it's not a scam and that that would reflect in price, but no - it's not doing anything.
There should be more hype, more demand...
Tell me honestly you don't fell the same way? (put aside todays move)
It is gaining momentum, the amount of accounts keep going up so lots more people are getting involved in NXT. http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=40&sub=6If that isn't a bullish indicator I don't know what is. We'll probably start seeing more of a rise in price with media coverage, but we really need better clients out first.

There is no way this can be right. If that was a true random hex number with that many digits there is no way it could be cracked easily. Can someone else input on this?
The second and third accounts had no 256-bit public key (no transactions out) so someone possibly could have accessed them via a collision. As someone else mentioned though as all three accounts were accessed (basically at the same time) it may be more likely he has malware on his machine.

I don't want to be an asshole, but how do we know, that 696356957947686421 isn't your account?
Yes, he should post the actual passphrase. No harm in doing so since it's been compromised anyway.

Omg, someone cleared 3 of my accounts.... I used 256bit keys generated by Keepass 2. I am using NRS 0.5.8 that installed today and downloaded from nxtcrypto.org. I am using Windows 7 Professional and am running Avira and Microsoft Security Essentials. The NXT was transferred about half an hour ago, also while i was forging. My PC was running unlocked but i can be 99.99% sure that no one had access to it physically. So I don't really know how this happend?!? It can't be bruteforce right? My accounts: 8423671173148912884 107,217 12345678612257264594 71 13486646175575465553 998 The NXT are now in this account: 696356957947686421 Balance Total : 108,286 NXT Fuck me... Btw the password of the third account was for example: af5c73ca7cf5f25ffa3b6b1689f40aaf60fd040b0de298c1ca661f8602d38311 Any chance of seeing these NXT again? Well the second and third accounts had no outgoing transactions, if you haven't sent any NXT out all it takes is a collision to access the account which means they don't need the actual passphrase. What about the first, was it you that sent 1 NXT out on 09.01.2014 ? Actually, just noticed you forged a block on that account so it would have been protected with a 256-bit key then.

Not sure if people are aware but max withdrawl on BTER is only 200 NXT per day. So if you plan on buying or selling a lot just keep that in mind - hopefully they raise it. Maybe they're testing things still.
So where to buy in large quantity? Right now Dgex, or the trading thread here are still the best places to buy in high volume.
