721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] a new coin based on Litecoin - CHNCoin on: May 05, 2013, 06:12:54 PM
is it still worth it to mine this solo with 2500kh?

You'll find a block in ~9-10 hours probably but there's always the chance of bad luck. I would go pooled to avoid risk since difficulty is going to take a huge jump soon.
722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] CHNCoin P2Pool | 1Gbit | US based on: May 05, 2013, 04:28:50 PM
I can connect and get a few accepted, but most I see is:
- Stratum from pool 0 requested work restart (every few seconds)
- Stratum from pool 0 detected new block (every 10-15 seconds)

230kh/s, got 2 shares accepted in first 3 minutes, no stales, next 15 minutes no share accepted at all. What is wrong?
I use cgminer --scrypt -o chnpool.yourcoins.org:8400 -u walletaddress -p x -s 5 --expiry 5 --queue 0

This is normal and won't affect payouts, just means your miner is fetching new work. At 230kh/s it's going to take some time for you to see shares accepted.

better result by tagging "-s 5 --expiry 5 --queue 0" on

+1 those are the settings I use as well, added them to the OP.
723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] CHNCoin P2Pool | 1Gbit | US based on: May 05, 2013, 09:26:19 AM
You have to play with your settings or something.. I have 65-70% stales

I've found another reason for high reject rates with cgminer is it could be submitting old shares if you just switched pools, which will sort itself out.

You can also try lowering intensity, at least on my 7950s 18 seems to give the best result. Anything higher nets a better hash rate but more stales.
724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] CHNCoin P2Pool | 1Gbit | US based on: May 05, 2013, 06:26:19 AM
why is there so many rejects on this pool?

The reject rate is less than some other P2Pools I've seen on here. I'll see if I can improve it, it's not the hardware though - pool's running on a dual E5-2620 and 64GB RAM.

However, you shouldn't be seeing 50% rejects, that is likely a miner config issue

Just threw one card on here, so far all seems to be well.

Cool, looks like we hit a few blocks in the past hour Smiley
726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] CHNCoin P2Pool | 1Gbit | US based on: May 05, 2013, 01:59:39 AM
Firewall was trigging some false positives, anyone that was having trouble connecting before should be able to now.
727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] CHNCoin P2Pool | 1Gbit | US based on: May 05, 2013, 12:36:24 AM
can't connect...

can't ping it either

Odd, well it's possible the firewall banned you. PM me your IP and I can take a look. Aside from that, I tried accessing it from 3 different networks just now and none had trouble connecting.

Anyone else have trouble connecting?
728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN] CHNCoin P2Pool | 1Gbit | US based on: May 04, 2013, 11:57:13 PM
Seems people are wanting more CHNCoin pools so I decided to set one up:

UPDATE: Pool is temp down for now, DDoS... not much I can do, attack was pretty massive - 8.4 gbit worth. I'll update when/if it comes back.

It's a P2Pool, so use your payment address as username to connect

Quick & easy CGMiner command line:

Quote
cgminer --scrypt -o url -u walletaddress -p x -s 5 --expiry 5 --queue 0

I'm currently pointing around 1 MH/s to it myself. It's on a 1gbit line (unmetered) and latency should be very low for anyone in the US. Pool fee is 3 %. Enjoy! If you have any problems, let me know.

Update: We're up to 40 MH/s+ now and over 20 blocks found! Smiley
729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: www.bitbartalk.com - a discussion forum for people to talk about BitBars! on: May 04, 2013, 11:01:04 PM
Good idea - just signed up Smiley
730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC / BTB Exchange Google Docs #2 on: May 04, 2013, 10:39:09 PM
Woah, BitBar difficulty at 13 now already, they're increaisng highly in worth now.

Already way higher than CHN and that came out a few days before.
731  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CNC Pool Report - All your CNC Pool Talk on: May 04, 2013, 09:30:59 PM
I decided to setup a new P2Pool here:

dead

Edit: All is working well, we've found 20+ blocks since and over 35 MH/s
732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Now Mine CNC on P2Pool.org! Check it out! on: May 04, 2013, 07:06:47 PM
Seems better now. Was getting like 40 rejects in the first minute I joined for some reason, it's 95%+ accepts now.
733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Now Mine CNC on P2Pool.org! Check it out! on: May 04, 2013, 06:58:43 PM
Is it working? I'm getting loads of rejects.
734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BREAKING NEWS] CNC might soon be traded on Bter.com on: May 04, 2013, 06:04:37 PM
Funny. After reading all you guys negative replies I changed my mind and sold my entire stash for 25 LTC per k. 7k.

which would now have been worth 21 BTC !

I'm never listening to you guys again Smiley

You never know. Genuinely surprised they added it, though.
735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 1.5 BitBar for sale on: May 04, 2013, 05:50:55 PM
Yes, please stop. I respect your enthusiasm for the bar but seeing you plaster your site everywhere is getting annoying. That's not even a true exchange anyway.
736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: JunkCoin, the newest Litecoin-based alt coin has arrived! on: May 04, 2013, 05:39:51 AM
Well, this coin lives up to the name.
737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitBar New POW-POS scrypt CryptoCoin on: May 04, 2013, 03:47:30 AM
For those not want to open up client to check on network stats, I put together a network stats page here: http://www.bitbar.info/stats/index.php

I will add more stats and forum next week. Site is not done.

Nice work! Smiley
738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN]: BitBar Exchange (Google Docs): NEED ADMINISTRATOR on: May 04, 2013, 03:24:02 AM
Appreciate it, but there's already one here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=194584.msg2020433#msg2020433

I like the layout of yours though. Maybe Boelens could use that provided it's not too much trouble to switch over.
739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC / BTB Exchange Google Docs #1 on: May 04, 2013, 12:38:40 AM
You can add me as well. Selling 1 BTB for 2 BTC

Thanks.
740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 1 BitBar = 1 BTC within 24-48 hours on: May 03, 2013, 11:45:25 PM
Difficulty is rising fast too - almost at 6

[difficulty] => 5.88542598

I see a lot of potential in this one.
