881  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The latest Avalon announcement in China(Translated). Batch #3, price and more. on: March 20, 2013, 05:52:23 PM
At the current BTC value the price can be justified but I'm not so sure 3-4 months down the line. Good luck to those who buy, I'll be sitting this one out.

-v 1 is what I am using witht he rest stock parameters.  You should get ~550mh/s at stock speeds, ~650mh/s overclocked to 1125.  You can undervolt these cards quite a bit if you are looking to draw less power.  I have mine set to 899mV @ 925/500.  I think I can shave off another 10-20mV with further testing.  @1125mhz you can go down to around 1050mV.

Thanks, will try that... btw, I have been running the miner at 1125MHz clocks and so far, I've gotten 1 "hw error" over the course of a couple hours. Not too sure how concerned I should be about this, would it mean my overclock is possibly unstable?

EDIT: seems it is due to the OC, had to back down to 1060 MHz to get fully stable at stock clocks.

HD7970, 2.6SDK, latest drivers... doesn't work:

I'm at a loss here.

The module that is crashing is the a D3DGear DLL.  Shut that program off before you start the miner.

Also, try specifying your device.

Also, are you using the drivers from the below link.  They are a lot better than the ones that came in the box.

http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/radeon-7900-series.aspx

Is Java up to date?

Thanks, fixed it... was a capturing software I installed that conflicted with the miner. What are the best settings for an HD7970 right now?

Thanks shads  Smiley That fixed it, works perfect now. Will let you know if I come across any other bugs.

By the way, useEasiestDifficulty=true is actually default in the sample config.
886  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [ATTN: POOL OPERATORS] PoolServerJ - scalable java mining pool backend on: August 14, 2011, 02:31:58 AM
Maybe I screwed up my config somewhere but I can't seem to get this to work.

-bash-3.2$ ./minerd --url http://ip:8999 --userpass test:test
[2011-08-13 20:51:18] JSON key 'midstate' not found
[2011-08-13 20:51:18] JSON inval midstate
[2011-08-13 20:51:18] json_rpc_call failed, retry after 30 seconds
[2011-08-13 20:51:18] Long-polling activated for http://ip:8999/LP/
[2011-08-13 20:55:04] longpoll failed, sleeping for 30s

I can connect to my Bitcoin RPC directly fine. I've also temp set rpcallowip to * to rule out any possible conflicts, no luck. It happens if I disable longpolling too. Pushpoold on the same box is running fine.

Paste of config: http://pastebin.com/JFnhMrgY

Oh and I'm running the latest JDK 1.7
887  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / solved: 500 internal server error when polling Bitcoin JSON RPC on: August 14, 2011, 01:09:14 AM
edit: never mind, restarted and that fixed it... weird.

Whenever I query Bitcoin's RPC port it throws a 500 server error with the following data:

{"result":null,"error":{"code":-32700,"message":"Parse error"},"id":null}

I had this error before and fixed it a couple months ago, but I don't remember what I did :/ Anyone have any ideas?

Is MtRed adjusting stats?

I had around 1 BTC pending, went down to .37 BTC today...

Something up with btcmonkey?

Getting error in pool api for it in the latest release, all other pools work fine

Damn Sad Only got 1 block mining for 3+ days with 750 Mh/s

Oh well.
891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mining Namecoins is now 2x more profitable than Bitcoins on: July 22, 2011, 06:01:19 PM
Been mining NM for approx 18 hrs now @ 640 MHash/s - found zip LOL

Well, average time is 1 day and around 16-17 hours for that hash speed
892  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: douchebag newegg bumped the price of 5830 to $129.99 on: July 22, 2011, 03:28:02 AM
I don't even see any point in buying new hardware at this stage. Even at $100, a 5830 will take you about a month and a half to pay off. That's OC'ed too, running 24/7. These sold quick back when you could pay them off in weeks .
893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mining Namecoins is now 2x more profitable than Bitcoins on: July 22, 2011, 03:09:13 AM
Any one that jumps to namecoins now will be disappointed.
A lot of people have changed to them so the market will get flooded soon and there price will come right down while pushing bitcoins price up.

Who is going to dump namecoins when the new namecoin painful difficulty kicks in it will be months before the next difficulty drop because all these short term namecoin miners are going to switch back to bitcoin.  No one will be mining so namecoins should go up up up  Grin

Not necessarily. Before the diff lowered namecoin value was lower than it is now. There is no guarantee value will go up at higher diff. It's the same with Bitcoin.
894  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Next Difficulty....Decrease? on: July 22, 2011, 01:03:50 AM
Namecoin is a tiny fraction, I don't believe it has any real effect on bitcoin hashrates.

Nearly 800 Ghash jumped to namecoin yesterday. That is significant
895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mining Namecoins is now 2x more profitable than Bitcoins on: July 21, 2011, 11:56:52 PM
I just hit a block myself. How do I check for confirmations again? Not seeing it in getinfo.

same here. about time!

ninja edit:
holy shit, i found 2 blocks after 10 minutes of mining? Shocked

I hate you a little. I am at 3000 hashes thus far without one.
I found one within an hour with 860 Mh/s.

Damn lucky. I've done about 10k hashes, still no block

Uhmmm, I'm not sure what you guys are using to define your hashes? A single ati card computes 300,000,000 hashes in a second.

GUIminer.

It shows the count in the lower left status bar, per GPU

Ok, i had the x64 build of Python installed. Tried the regular build and not getting API errors anymore. So it's not your script.  Smiley

3) All those API ERRORS?
THATS AN ISSUE. update to the latest revision. If its not fixed tell me. I obviously am not getting them or else I would have fixed it.

Just updated and still getting them, haven't changed anything in the script either.
