I am sitting pretty now with 5 NIB.  Not putting any real power towards this until later on though.  The orphans are expected.  Hence the low block rewards.

Good strategy increasing the reward when there's less orphans. Gives everyone ample time to jump on  as well. I think this is one of the best launches to date.

Been mining since block 100 and just found my first two blocks Smiley

Thats proof the windows client is fubbered if linux is working fine. No wonder I got nothing even with 4000 hash

It's not proof.
524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The Nibble - Real Currency - 5/19/2013 12AM UTC [UPDATED RELEASE] on: May 19, 2013, 12:46:19 AM
Must be a problem with the Windows client.

Tried it after your complaints: 0 coins, only rejects in 8 minutes.
Linux client is working fine (Ubuntu USB stick), 121 coins now.

Doubt it. Compiled here on Linux, started mining at block 100 with 1 MH/s. 0 coins so far, I'm also on a 1gbit connection. Over 50 connections in client.

yeah - i'll come back when there is a windows client and a pool . cya guys later -

mean time, thngs to do "learn to compile"

What? A Windows binary was posted by the author ages ago. The download just includes the source, as well.
526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The Nibble - Real Currency - 5/19/2013 12AM UTC [UPDATED RELEASE] on: May 19, 2013, 12:19:45 AM
WTF just happened? My wallet just re-synced out of nowhere and I lost my entire confirmed balance!!!!

Dev, please explain.

Seems you were mining before your client was fully synced with the blockchain, therefore any blocks you found are rendered invalid. Someone found them before you.
527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The Nibble - Real Currency - 5/19/2013 12AM UTC [UPDATED RELEASE] on: May 19, 2013, 12:16:59 AM
aaaand here we go, failure and get-rich-fast scheme all over again.
why the fuck would you update your post with the source code before the binaries?
why would you still use a difficulty of 0 after everyone told you not to? sure you buffered it a bit by adjusting block size, but somebody is still raking in all those 1-blocks. sigh. what. the. fuck.

I wouldn't trust anyone that posts binaries without source. At any rate, he posted the binaries 5 minutes later, takes at least 2 minutes to build the source my dual CPU, hex-core machine. I started at block 100 and have found exactly nothing so far except orphan so not like those extra few minutes of mining mattered, ha.

Found over 50 blocks so far all orphans whoop whoop  Grin
529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The Nibble - Real Currency - 5/19/2013 12AM UTC [UPDATED RELEASE] on: May 18, 2013, 11:54:56 PM
source is up.

Dev now mining, and a few linux people mining. Everyone else will join in at about block 2000.

Compiling isn't instant. Takes a few mins at least on a reasonably fast machine.
530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The Nibble - Real Currency - 5/19/2013 12AM UTC [UPDATED RELEASE] on: May 18, 2013, 11:52:00 PM
you can use what ever portsa you set in the nibble.conf for solo mining, those ports are for pooled mining I think

Ports:
8550 Connect
8551 JSON RPC

Maybe this is why i can never connect solo - what are these ports for?

I get the config and the , pointing back from the miner to the config.

but what are the above ports for, (opening netstat right now.)

No, they've nothing to do with pooled mining. 8550 is what the daemon listens on, 8551 is for RPC commands. If you don't understand that, just open 8550.
531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lets get WorldCoin WDC on an Exchange (E-Mail Campaign) on: May 18, 2013, 05:01:04 AM
There isn't even a block explorer and you want it on the exchange already?

Are the two things even related, or are you simply trying to convince people that one depends on the other?

It seems logical to get a block explorer up first. Adds some credibility to the coin if anything.

About time... that guy has gotten away with scamming far too many people. A shame really.

Altcoin investment strategy: avoid anything TruCoin promotes.

Here is a link to the v4 windows binaries I have been using since 7/2012.
This archive does not contain a virus...

However,  ALWAYS scan any archive you download.
Here is is (I just googled file upload and speedy share popped up first)

Doesn't compile here, spits out an error on OpenSSL's ECDSA.

Can't figure out why, my openSSL is fine and no problems compiling bitcoind or any other coins.
538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Most profitable coin] Mining WDC is 2.9x more profitable than LTC on: May 17, 2013, 06:28:39 PM
If we want this coin to survive then we need to stop being greedy. Get the thought of profitability out of your heads. Exchanging WDC is a start but we need to also start accepting WDC as a form of payment. If we can't do this, then it will follow in the crapcoins footsteps.

A lot of sense here but probably will go ignored. That's been the problem with all recent ALTs, as soon as they hit an exchange people dump them en masse and the price typically stays down. Kills the buzz and from that point suddenly no one wants anything to do with the coin anymore and just moves on to the next thing
539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WDC Hash Rate approaching 1gh/s on: May 17, 2013, 05:45:23 PM
Remarkable start wish I had jumped in sooner on the mining

same, i saw this come out on day one, and was like worldcoin?!?  It got lost with all the other crap coins that were releasing.  I put my miners on it yesterday.  Only new coin, they have stayed at longer than 12 hours.  Going to ride this one out and see where it goes.

It's no different than any of the other 'crap coins'

People just decided to flock to this one for some reason.

Wait until the next coin releases and the hash rate will tank.

What would we ever have done without your input.

WDC is not like other alt-coins.  You just come off sounding sore that you missed the boat or are trying to manipulate the markets

I could say the same for you  Roll Eyes

I'm not even bashing WDC and already the defense force is out. It's just silly to call all these other ALTs crap coins while praising WDC. Makes you look like a total shill. I try to stay objective.
