$900 wouldn't surprise me. Don't think they'll go beyond that though. AMD likely wants to put price pressure on Nvidia's dual GPU flagship.

Nice, but I wouldn't bother bidding on this unless I absolutely needed the card early or something, no warranty with an engineering sample :p

Besides official release date is only a few weeks away supposedly.

Wonder how much these will cost retail, if <=$800 it might be the best card for Litecoin mining as far as wattage/performance is concerned.

So does anybody here actually have coins in his wallet yet?  Huh

10K coins so far. Difficulty seems to be going up quite a bit I'm only finding blocks every 2-3 minutes or so now on 1.3MH/s
845  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: FeatherCoin - New Litecoin based coin on: April 16, 2013, 10:42:40 PM
Started mining. Found 70 blocks so far.
846  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: April 15, 2013, 06:10:44 PM
What worries me the most is that it is Monday, fiat has entered the system and prices should have started to rise by now. Instead we are slowly going down..

I've been saying the Gox verification queue isn't a surefire indicator the price will go up. A lot of those people probably want to buy in BUT not at $90-100 when the price just dropped by 50% over the last few days. I expect we'll bottom out at $50-60 soon.

clarkmoody showing 98

Yep, trades are going through and the gox site is still inaccessible...
848  Economy / Speculation / Re: And the verdict is in! All exchanges TANKING. on: April 12, 2013, 02:32:18 AM
It generally make the huge movements during the day.  I expected it to be around $70-$80 tonight and go under $50 tomorrow as I said in another thread when Mt. Gox shutdown.

This, not everyone keeps tabs on the exchanges 24/7... there will still be people seeing the price 6 hours from now and panic sell
849  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mtgox verification queue issue on: April 11, 2013, 07:24:41 PM
Usually takes around 10 business days to get verified. No idea why you jumped further up in the queue, that is odd...

You're a few weeks late bro...
851  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Best mhash/s to $ ratio if I dont give a shit about electricity? on: April 09, 2013, 04:48:36 AM
Overclocked 7950... can be had for $220 if you sell game codes.
852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Consolidated LTC mining using free instance of Amazon Web Services on: April 07, 2013, 04:21:33 AM
What do you mean by implement it on a 'botnet-type scale' ? At only 5 khash/s I don't really see how these instances are useful.

You can't create multiple accounts if that's what you're thinking of, not only is it against ToS but each AWS account requires a CC on file
853  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Custom machine - 30Ghps on: April 06, 2013, 07:28:29 PM
everyone would do that - probably pay $20k if you deliver today

but we all know you can't do that with a pile of modminers unless a miner dies and you buy from his grandmom garagesale

Moreover, why should one sell this kind of machinery when his expected profit is much higher if s/he used that machinery for him/herself? I wonder the same for those how sell ASICs... is it related to the fact that if only one subject owns "all" the available bitcoins (theoretically speaking, of course) than their value might drop?

ripkars

If Avalon kept all the units to themselves and mined I would say there's a good chance that could have had a negative effect on the value of Bitcoin, and in time the integrity of the network (as they approached closer to more than 50% of the network power).
854  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: NVIDIA Kepler (K20) from 134MHash/s to 330MHash/s with CUDA on: April 02, 2013, 12:18:30 AM
I've got a GTX Titan I could test this on - though, is there a version of this that compiles easily on Windows? The one the OP linked is Linux only.
855  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Batch 3 [CLOSED- Seven 4 module Avalons ordered] on: April 01, 2013, 12:11:31 AM
try to post now, I'm not sure if I fixed it or not. Some people were not added to the group that I swear I had validated yesterday, not sure what's up.

Still insufficient rights. Tried logging in again as well since some forum software requires that for a change in rights, but that didn't help.

Can you try again? Changed your primary group to verified.

Edit: okay, good.

CH: when changing a user's group make sure to edit the primary group instead of secondary.

I'll be around for the next few hours, so if anyone needs to be verified on the forum you can PM me with your email address as well and I'll add you to the verified group.
857  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Batch 3 [CLOSED- Seven 4 module Avalons ordered] on: March 31, 2013, 03:36:35 AM
Alright cool. I'll get it setup now then, should take me a half hour, I'll PM you when it's up. Going to use Xenforo for the forum.

Thank you very much! You are doing us a huge favor!  Grin

I hereby give Relm9 .00099998 of my shares in this group buy paid out to 1Dpmtq6jJRk6WhiWycbVfQCXpbKijXTRem

And... let the trading begin (I like nice round numbers)!  Wink

Thanks man Smiley Glad to help out!

I agree we need a dedicated forum, this topic doesn't belong in the custom hardware section of bitcointalk.

Is anyone in the group willing to setup/host this for us?

I've got a dedicated server at Softlayer that I could host it on. Any preference towards forum software?
860  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Batch 3 [CLOSED- Seven 4 module Avalons ordered] on: March 30, 2013, 11:56:36 PM
I would rather not use an exchange, it's probably the easiest option but we could run into potential issues if they got hacked, suffer from downtime, etc.

Buying and selling shares seems like a maintenance nightmare, though, I guess it wouldn't be too bad if purchases are limited to those within the group already. Someone else said it (and I agree with them) that any share selling should be locked once the Avalons arrive to minimize the workload for CH.
