421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Get Hazard Banned! on: June 01, 2013, 04:16:09 AM
If he keeps it up, yes. He's proven his point, and the constant crapcoin releases are getting tiring - no reason to continue contributing to the clutter.
422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mining elite on: June 01, 2013, 04:12:28 AM
Whenever I see a coin reach like 400%+ profitability it is typically short-lived, if you don't already have a good stash of coins you can't take advantage for the most part.
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good bye LTC? on: June 01, 2013, 04:00:41 AM
As said before Litecoin is dying because it offers 0 advantage over bitcoin. Except it is accepted at fewer places and even more risky. Don't waste your money. All of these altcoins will be dead within a year.

Only an altcoin that offers something significantly different and better than bitcoin has a chance of surviving.

MtGox will NEVER offer Litecoin exchange services. I know they already announced it, but mark my words, it is never going to happen.

I'd argue MtGox has even more reason to add Litecoin now because traders are leaving them after recent blunders. They need something to bring people back, otherwise their numbers will keep declining.

This one has sparked my interest Smiley Nice to see some innovation around here.
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] eMulah (EMU) - NOT a BitCoin fork/clone - call for beta testers on: May 30, 2013, 09:00:28 PM
Interested! Put me down for the beta test.
426  Economy / Speculation / Re: "Mt. Gox user accounts will have to be verified." (or use Bitcoin) on: May 30, 2013, 08:54:16 PM
I thought the verification process has been standard for a long time.

I had to go through it last summer to pull some money out.

I've been verified for a while so I don't recall the exact amount but you were able to deposit and withdraw small sums without previously being verified.  It appears now you will need to be verified to do any deposits or withdrawals.

Verification was mandatory to use the Dwolla deposit option for at least the past year, not sure about the other methods.
427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC] Litecoin Core Development Fundraising on: May 30, 2013, 06:22:06 PM
eh whatever, sticky or no sticky, we can still bump it.

BUMP.

Another bump Smiley

Sad this was un-stickied when nothing else is being done about the other crap on this forum. So much for being neutral.
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC] Litecoin Core Development Fundraising on: May 30, 2013, 06:05:41 AM
On the subject of neutrality, let me just say a sticky like this is a small part of the problem. For one there's lots of manipulation going on here by the users themselves. There's very little actual discussion going on in many of the threads, other than constant back-and-forth accusations and people bumping threads with worthless replies just to get the coin they premined back on page one. Some even have alt accounts that post trading threads with fabricated buy and sell orders in hopes of drumming up interest.

This forum definitely needs to be divided into subforums, perhaps actual discussions can take place in the main forum, while any ALT coin releases or announcements go in a subforum. Likewise, any trading should go in a dedicated subforum to reduce clutter. It's not the end-all solution by any means but may improve things.

So yes, to keep things neutral this topic should probably be un-stickied, I can agree there... but then the rest of the forum needs a massive cleanup and stricter moderation to keep things fair. This is partially why I saw no problem whatsoever with this topic at first glance.
429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC] Litecoin Core Development Fundraising on: May 29, 2013, 06:40:14 AM
This thread is stickied? Why? Will every alt coin get a sticky if they make a development fundraising request? If not, why is a moderator deciding which coin who they may have a personal stake in is "worthy" of having a sticky?

I actually hold LTC.
Repost.

Seems reasonable to me, LTC is far and away the biggest alt coin, why would it not get special treatment?

Beyond that... there's way too much junk in this section of the forum, and I'm sure 99% of visitors here have an interest in LTC, so it makes sense to sticky it.

You are making yourself look real silly by complaining about this.
430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Fastcoin - FST - The Fastest coin so far in the market - is launched!! on: May 29, 2013, 06:17:28 AM
What, is it like 3 seconds faster than the other one. What a innovation!  Cry

Hey, at least he made something faster unlike WorldCoin which copied Geistgeld block times.

Geist Geld didn't even make it off testnet did it?

Not quite sure what you mean by that...IIRC there was nothing wrong with it technically other than the fact the client used a lot of RAM (around 1.5 GB, which isn't all that much nowadays). It was even traded on BTC-E for awhile.

0.1BTC per franko?

no no, .1 50 at least

Kind of a bad deal, you can get way more for them on Cryptsy, plus no risk...
433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 7790 or 7950 ? on: May 29, 2013, 02:09:33 AM
which makes the least heat compared to hashes?

Probably the new 7990 Malta. It has a TDP of 375W thanks to binned 7970 chips and I can get it to do 1.05 Mhash on -20 % PowerTune. -15% PowerTune it does 1.2 Mhash, and 1.35 on  0% (default).

It costs around $1050 though so not very economical. But it's one of the best performance/watt cards, possibly better than the 7790.
434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Looking to buy 20-100 BitBars at a time please on: May 28, 2013, 04:18:55 AM
0.12239 BTC per . But have been trading for BitGem BTG and LTC. I also would like to buy some BTG BitGems if anyone wants to sell

Damn, the people buying at 7 BTC+ each on your exchange really got burned.
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [WTS] 50 Barcoin @ 0.5 LTC each - 40 left on: May 27, 2013, 06:53:35 PM

Don't see what's so surprising, he already said 2 mil coins were premined.

Namecheap is probably the second largest domain name registrar in the world, so not that coincidental. I use them too. And yes - they accept BTC.

You may have noticed extremely large blocks and round times over the past 24hours. This was due to multiple issues with finding blocks. This issue was affecting multiple pools for most of the day. We are still unsure of the cause but we have no reason to suspect it was due to issues on the litecoin network, will continue our investigations on this and give more information when we have it. So far things seem back to normal but we are keeping a firm eye on things.
If you are experiencing frequent disconnections contact us ASAP.

wemineltc and givemeltc seem to be owned by the same person:

They aren't, from where are you drawing that conclusion? Whois guard is just a privacy feature Namecheap offers.

I think this looks much better than the current design, good job.
