I'd assume that you didn't get any PM about the removed posts. And if it's so, then it means the topic was completely removed, for whatever reasons, and it's not uncommon to see newbies removing their topics after getting their answers (I failed to understand why they do that, but I've noticed that too at some point); possibly also banned/nuked users' topics can have the same fate.

No. Bitcoin doesn't have to be perceived as more expensive. Bitcoin has to be perceived as it is. Not more, not less. And this being said, all the safety measures will differ from person to person. One has to be very careful, according to how much he affords to lose because of mistakes or hacks. One can get hacked and buy back next day all the loses. Others.... don't...

Indeed the private keys start with 5.. however, if one wants cheap fees he will use pure SegWit in 2023, isn't it? 
And for SegWit addresses I just use my hardware wallet, trading the lack of nice addresses for my funds' safety.

In 2023 there aren't many valid reasons for using legacy addresses, still, some do want them/insist for them. I am curious about OP's and also about what he actually wants to achieve, that's also why I've asked for details.

Este clar, banii digitali emiși de stat sunt doar o altă față a fiat, a banilor de zi cu zi, cu inflație, cu valoare decisă de stat șamd. Chiar mai mult, sunt o față care poate fi mult mai nasoală, în funcție de modul de implementare (care, clar, nu va fi public).

Cu banii digitali statul câștigă pe multe fronturi:

* pot (în funcție de implementare) să urmărească tot ce faci cu banii (da, pot face asta și când folosești cardul, dar trebuie să convingă banca, plus că poate că tu de fapt folosești bani de hârtie...)
* pot (în funcție de implementare) să îți blocheze fondurile sau chiar să ți le retragă (inclusiv "preventiv", fără ordin judecătoresc trimis băncii!)

Comercianții vor fi co-interesați fiindcă vor putea să scape de mare parte din comisioanele pe care le plătesc VISA/Mastercard sau/și băncilor.
Noi, oamenii de rând... noi se pare ca doar pierdem din afacerea asta...

Discutabil, o foarte mică inflație poate fi bună și la criptomonede, în ideea că pe termen nelimitat, pierderile pot deveni semnificative comparativ cu ce rămâne în circulație. Clar, pentru noi și încă o generație-două nu ar trebui să fie o problemă nici numărul fix. Plus, noi de fapt avem acum un fel de inflație (oarecum falsă) la Bitcoin, întrucât fiecare bloc nou aduce monezi noi. Oamenii nu conștientizează și nu lucrează pe baza viitoarei limitări la 21 milioane de unități, ci cu ce se "aruncă" pe piață, în principal de mineri.


Lumea nu înțelege nici valoarea stabilită de stat, nici inflația, din păcate. Ei se bucură când crește pensia și nu corelează cu faptul că prețurile au crescut și mai mult, iar banii puși deoparte valorează din ce în ce mai puțin. Uită că inclusiv leul a "pierdut" 4 zerouri din pix, doar ca să nu arătăm chiar ca un stat "bananier". Uită că asta se mai poate întâmpla, și nu e greu să ajungem iar acolo...
Lumea pune botul la ce se zice la teveu, și la noi, și la alții ("Wag the dog" nu e chiar așa departe de adevăr..), deci criptomonedele sunt ponegrite fiindcă așa zic niște politicieni (adică mincinoși de profesie). Iar faptul că prețul variază între niște limite extreme face treaba asta cu atât mai grea și de neînțeles pentru omul de rând...


Repet, nu sunt convins că scopul criptomonedelor este eliminarea fiat, cel puțin nu în primă fază.
Pe de altă parte banii digitali ai statului sunt meniți să înlocuiască, cel puțin în mare parte, banii de hârtie, adică cei care nu puteau fi urmăriți. Nici asta nu vor putea, întrucât (din câte știu), legal și constituțional, statul trebuie să ofere acces la bani oricui, fără telefon, internet sau bancomat. Așadar banii de hârtie nu mor, vor fi aici pentru cel puțin încă o generație...
Dacă politicienii ar înțelege asta, poate că nu s-ar agăța atât de tare de acești bani digitali ai băncilor centrale.

So for the rare cases I use 1* addresses, I can also make them look nice if I want to.

Since many other cases were already covered, I've added this only to show that the possibilities are many.
It's all up to you (and your skills), to the wallet you want to use, to the amount you want to use this address/these addresses for (the bigger the amounts, the more important also the safety measures).

OP, did you, by chance, got (or made) this list from one or more old posts about bitcoin?
While you do have a point and in some cases publishing only one address does make sense and has its uses - actually even bitcoin.org has one donation address, hence they're reusing it, the point related to the number of keys, as already said, it's outdated. Now people use HD wallets and only handle one seed; the history has shown that having wallets with a lot of unrelated keys is a recipe for disaster.


By using correctly multiple addresses, different parties will not know how many bitcoins one has. This is important, there was already at least one case with user complaining here on bitcointalk (some years ago) that somebody know all his bitcoins and now it's threatening him. So it's not something to be as easily dismissed as you do.

I will add that moving to new addresses at least now and then is beneficial also for security, at least in theory. If an address was used in the past with a wallet with bugs and - in a way or another some information was slipped online - using new addresses at least when going to new wallets can easily help one avoid bad surprises.

Organizatorul este cineva foarte nou. Nu sunt sigur daca va da premiul.
Inscrierea se face postand o adresa de bitcoin.
Premiul ar fi 50$ in BTC, extragerea va fi in data de 24, iar alte reguli nu sunt, nici legate de conturi noi si multiple, nici despre cum va avea loc extragerea.

It's open source. But that doesn't make it safe. You never have to trust what you find running online.
This being said, Ian Coleman's page also has, at its end, link for getting the files for offline usage. And if you get those, and use them offline, on a system with no persistence or which you'll wipe (not just delete) afterwards, then you're pretty much OK.
And even so, if you are paranoid enough (which is not a bad thing) you'll read that the random used by such scripts may not be that good. And this may or may not be a problem. 99% of the cases it isn't.

But how it comes you've just forgot the whole password? Maybe you can find it/recover more of it before trying more with the wallet?

Maybe you know the password, but it's just not working anymore? That can easily happen when you change keyboard layout (somebody I know had recently a similar surprise too).

Well, on this same page there's also the account Coldkey, also (according to the trust feedback) acknowledged as alt of yogg.
