1061  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: February 07, 2023, 03:28:57 PM
Edit: If you wait long enough, it does fully load. It just got a bit slower somehow. Either due to size growth of the table or they just have a slow day today.. Wink

Yep, I can confirm, now it works. 2h ago it was either a glitch, either just very slow, especially as I tried on Tor browser, I don't know.
1062  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: February 07, 2023, 11:30:50 AM
Cryptpad does not seem to load at all and gets stuck at "uploading shared folders".  Sad

In my case it went on, but said then "This pad is not in your CryptDrive. Do you want to store it now?".
So I'd guess it's not there; maybe got a new name/URL at (re)upload, I don't know.
1063  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why you must not use a crypto wallet on a bootloader-unlocked phone on: February 07, 2023, 09:26:27 AM
Your Phone's OEM would typically not allow some changes on your phone because of security vulnerabilities

I would not be that certain even about this; the phone's original OS can have bugs and the various manufacturers' updates don't come that fast, plus, you don't know what bugs and open doors the phone's manufacturer software has (some even left on purpose).

Imho unless you really know what you're doing and you really know what your OS is doing (which I doubt it's the case for phones), having/using a hot wallet is a risk.
1064  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin Andresen calls it a "mistake" to trust CSW on: February 07, 2023, 07:59:53 AM
What caused the resurgence of this debate lol

Gavin's writing is one key "documents" CSW is relying on in his lawsuits against everybody contesting his claims or exposing is lies.

CSW already managed to obtain court order hence bitcoin whitepaper is not available on bitcoin.org for UK people (IPs).
CSW is dragging into lawsuits from people on Twitter to Bitcoin businesses and even Bitcoin developers for not allowing him to steal millions of bitcoin.

So... it's not a small thing this update.
1065  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Sasha Ivanov founder of waves = biggest fraud since SBF on: February 07, 2023, 07:38:35 AM
No one else had problems with ivanov except me?

In the early days of WAVES I've got booked to make a translation for him and when I've finished he didn't want to pay me - basically he double booked by mistake this language and he paid the other translator.
But I started soon enough to complain on Twitter about this, and in very few days he approached me and paid his debt.
So.. my case was solved, I don't have anything to complain. And, although I've kept my WAVES for longer than I should have, I still sold them many years ago so I can't tell more.

I have reported him to SEC months ago no action, the dude needs to go.

I don't know where Sasha resides in, especially now because of the war, but I don't think that SEC can do much outside of USA. And the world is bigger than that.

But the options are fading.

I would try my luck on Twitter, as already said, and maybe I would also try my luck in that altcoins area too.
1066  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get promoted from Member to Full Member?? on: February 07, 2023, 07:27:57 AM
Lol.... naaah, my bad!

No worries. As I said, I understood.

Welcome message and Satoshi's lesson can give you some valuable advice and motivation to start your journey.

Well, OP has started his journey in 2017.
So while he indeed seems to need such links, the wording "start your journey" is inaccurate  Wink
1067  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can I invest my 60% savings in Bitcoin? on: February 06, 2023, 07:00:27 PM
bitcoin can Crashed again Below $20K Level or Not ?

Nothing is impossible, especially on short term.
Even on long term, we don't have crystal globes here. It's a Bitcoin forum here, so you'll find out that we trust Bitcoin and we think that its price will grow, still, Bitcoin is a rather risky investment and you should invest only money you afford to lose and only if you understand what you're doing (because bitcoin is also very easy to get stolen).

how much Probability for Down ?

I think it's not too big, but I'm no expert and I was wrong before with my expectations.

suggest please I can bear some Loss but Can,t afford 100% loss

100% loss by price going down is highly unlikely. However, as I said, you also need to learn to protect your coins properly against theft. And, as FTX story shown us, you will have to learn to be your own bank.

waiting for all expert members suggestion?

Whoever calls himself expert will be proven wrong by the history. We're just normal people and we may or may not be wrong. You should gather all the information you can get and take your own decisions.

Sort of like asking an obsessive car collector whether it is a good idea to collect cars.

And yet, most of the answers are not bad at all Wink (including yours!)

Although, your thread cropped it just right just good, was on point and noted too.

OK. Thanks for clarification.
Since you've quoted me and wrote right afterwards "You could as well read the rules here to get some directives as you seem like a total newbie." I considered that you're referring to me.
1069  Other / Off-topic / Re: My story and where it is now..... on: February 06, 2023, 06:43:48 PM
I hope my condition keeps improving as well but my hopes aren't too high so far. I'll see what my doctor says next week and go from there. That's really about all that I can do at this point other than seek different or second opinions.

Try to get all the hearth scans and all the data you can to as many doctors as possible. There may be that your condition is something unusual and only few know how to deal with it. Make us of the internet. Losing hope is not the best course of action. I fear this saga will take more of your energy and money, but I really hope for a happy end.

1071  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get promoted from Member to Full Member?? on: February 06, 2023, 06:17:44 PM
You could as well read the rules here to get some directives as you seem like a total newbie. Newbies Read before posting and you might as well find information there very useful.

It's just surprising that you at OP whom have been here for a long time just don't know the means by which, users are ranked. Even with you after attaining the 3rd rank (member) in the ranking profiling of the forum. You ought to know this for real.

If you would have bothered to click the links I've provided, you'd see that they contain the relevant information.

Merit system was introduced in January 2018, you posted very well at the time, but you do not know how to rank up. That is ridiculous.

Very good find!

The merit is harder to get. You'll need to post things people find really useful so they'll merit your posts.
The more he provides what bitcointalk reputed users like, the merit will not be hard to get. I noticed the process can be slow, but even the people that receive merit like how snail is crawling are enjoying this forum.

If the information is useful, it will be merited sooner or later. Is it something else you've meant and I'm missing?
I mean, yes, some areas tend to get merits easier than others. But I think that OP needs more than trying his luck here and there for 1-2 merits. Getting to 100 is quite a step.
1072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ark Investment lanches report Big Ideas 2023: bitcoin price above 1mi in 2030 on: February 06, 2023, 06:08:49 PM
But, jokes asides, I wouldn't trust Cathie, neither Saylor nor any other billionaire who wants to play the Bitcoin accumulation game. Who knows their agenda.

This is one valid point. As I said, b i a s e d. If tomorrow they'll sell their coins and invest into <insert name here>, then they'll start telling how shite Bitcoin is and how good <insert name here> is and will become in the following months and years. That's how this works.

I don't know guys. 2030 is a lot of Bitcoin-years ahead.

This is another good point. Still, I'm not worried about bitcoin's value. I'm worried that people will somewhat lose their appetite in buying because of its high price - or, to say it different, I fear that the world's finance would not be strong enough to allow us go so high (I don't know how to express this better).
1073  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get promoted from Member to Full Member?? on: February 06, 2023, 06:02:07 PM
I have been part of Bitcoin talk forum for really long time now and yet I am still only a Member! Can someone please help or explain how this works? Thank you,

As written here, you'll need to get to 120 activity and 100 merit.
The activity is not hard to earn, you'll find in this post (among other things) also how it's calculated. Basically you need to post a bit more.
The merit is harder to get. You'll need to post things people find really useful so they'll merit your posts.
1074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ark Investment lanches report Big Ideas 2023: bitcoin price above 1mi in 2030 on: February 06, 2023, 05:10:41 PM

Afaik Cathie Wood's Ark Invest is heavily invested in Bitcoin. This means that it's clear that she and her company will always have very big predictions for Bitcoin, and this for two reasons:
* if they wouldn't trust Bitcoin they would haven't been buying or would sell
* they want to convince actual and potential investors (into Ark Invest) that their (Ark's) investments are good and can bring big money

I don't say they're wrong. But they're clearly biased.
...The report may be a bit too optimistic though.
1075  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: are all beginners like that? on: February 06, 2023, 03:07:18 PM
In the crypto world, there are several types of newcomers; some are patient and constantly willing to learn, while others are not, always willing to take greater risks from which they may never fully recover.

Indeed. Sadly the vast majority cares about bitcoin and crypto only as tools to get them financial gains.
This being said, the less knowledge one has, the higher chance he will fall for scams, for altcoins with no future, name it. The less is the knowledge the higher the chance to see all the coins - bitcoin and altcoins - as get-rich-quick schemes and to believe all the claims and promises, no matter how wild (and wildly fake) they are.

Some few who take the patience to learn first and invest later and with caution may have better chances for the financial gains all dream about.
Yes, kind of like in the story with the turtle and the hare...
1076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin Andresen calls it a "mistake" to trust CSW on: February 06, 2023, 01:57:38 PM
There has been a lot of discussion over the years about why Andresen never came out and formally denounced CSW, since it beyond any doubt that he is categorically not Satoshi. This is a step in the right direction, but it's a bit weak for my liking. Obviously it was a mistake to ever trust CSW, but Andresen needs to go further and categorically say "Sorry, I was wrong. CSW is obviously not Satoshi."

This is long overdue and I agree that the only reasonable explanation is that he has signed a legal paper and was bound to stay silent.
Still, better late than never, hence I salute this move.

Asadar IntimitateaG sta mai bine decat mine, ca macar are toate voturile grupate. Imi pare rau, trebuia sa ma fi gandit si eu, ca meritai si votul meu.
1078  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Should BTC amounts greater than 10.000E be declared when leaving the country? on: February 06, 2023, 11:09:12 AM
Besides, the $23M does not add up. Suppose your annual salary is around the average annual salary in the EU, about €45k. What do you do with $23M unspent? The other thing that also doesn't add up is people not selling as an investment goes up tends 0 as the investment goes up more. If you bought or were gifted 1k Bitcoin when it was worth $1, it's very rare that you didn't sell at $10, even rarer that you didn't sell at $100 etc.

There is a possible cases one would have $23M in Bitcoin; just then that person would most probably travel with a private jet though.
I expect a good number of initial investors have spent only small(er) portions at $10, $100, $1000, $10000 and still have some.

I am trying to understand how law works (or should work) in such cases.

I think that's a gray area. Imho it's like with the VISA card. You can have much more than 10k on your VISA card or as deposits in your account and you don't have to declare it.
After all, normally and legally one will most probably sell bitcoins at a CEX or, anyway, with money coming into his bank account.

However, one can easily keep his seed phrase safely and separately and he can avoid surprises until the legislation becomes clearer.
1079  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Direct debit for Bitcoin network (doable?) on: February 06, 2023, 10:53:57 AM
Is this very hard?

No, it's not. I think that, by far, it's not a difficulty issue. Just read about the huge number of people getting their coins stolen in the second they receive them. This means that scammers do have pretty much similar tools (actually what you need may be even simpler).
But I see it as a security issue. A software running on a whatever system will need access to the private key of that address of mine. I don't like that; I would not allow that with a wallet I have money on.
1080  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost Bitcoin? on: February 06, 2023, 08:12:43 AM
Is it possible to say that Bitcoin in every wallets for the past 2years without moving are considered lost due to death or lost recovery keys?

No. Not at all. Whoever wants people think like that have malicious intentions. No matter for how long the money is not touched, if one has ideas to get that money away - under whatever reasons - that's plain theft.

* There are people and institutions holding for at very least 5 years.
* There are people using paper wallets, collectible items holding bitcoin and other things for many years. The coins are not moved, but they're most probably regularly checked.
* I expect successful LN channels stay open for many years.

And there are just few examples people have bitcoins not moved for many years. And 2 years? That's nothing. Even with 10 years time frame I would not be certain (!), since in 2011 there were already made Casascius coins.
