what crypto is meant to be; CURRENCY
what it is not; A MISSION TO MARS.
all the 'innovations' todate i see add complication, when the bases for these all come from, is already TOO complicated to be successful for mass adoption.
Litecoins got it right. Time will show that.

I understand that Cryptsy has the best legal council available. They are unlikely to do anything that would expose them to high risk or unnecessary liability.
In terms of reliability, they are one of the most stable and reputable cryptocurrency exchanges on earth at present.
This is a very odd statement to make based upon the evidence to the contrary. Do you have any personal investment , employement or involvement in Cryptsy? its the only exchange that hasn't delisted the shitcoin he is constantly peddling  |

but my question is do we really need a silver, especially if bitcoin will address the slow confirmations? real silver on the other hand, have some use in the industry, where gold cannot be used i'd more question if we really need bitcoin; ie anon dev holding a stash kinda may seem cool n all amongst crypto nerds but in the real world....hmmm |

Of course is bitcoin. bitcoin is the prototype of crypto currency, which is the KING.  Don't invest in LTC, LTC is centralized, ASIC manufacturer "Gridseed" has over 50% hash power.  you really haven't been following bitcoin much if you're calling LTC centralised |

Actually the crypto world is dominated by Han Chinese, not white males. Yes this western speaking forum may be dominated by white males, but so is the tech industry as a whole. Instead of whining about it people like Palmer should be doing more community outreach into urban areas to recruit minorities into the computer culture but the liberal philosophy is to just blame everyone else for their grievances and engage in self hatred. and there are a lot of anarcho-libertarian beliefs caught up in crypto which many of us really don't agree with. He's no dummy.
So why are you in crypto anyway? It is the exact opposite of big government Keynesian economics where you just solve economic problems through more inflation and paying off debt with debt. What I find strange too is how many Marxists there are in the crypto community around here yet I can't find any connection as to how Bitcoin can bring about a communist world. How can workers own the means of a decentralized production world? Solid post, bro. You're clearly no dummy either. Now riddle me this: have we seen any real (not just parasitic) venture capital in the space? I think the reason it was doomed to fail is because it doesn't offer much over bitcoin.
it offers a few very crucial points over bitcoin for going mainstream, eg known creator (anon dev may be cool around here but not in the real world being real money, especially when said creator has a billion dollar + stash). thing it offers over all other alts and the reason it stays a solid 2nd, no matter what FUD is spread here....TRUST. |

Doesn't it have to deal more with its original purpose as being ASIC proof?
I guess you could say the real mistake was underestimating the adaptability of the users involved in the space - particularly in their quest to mine.
biggest myth on this forum litecoin was never ever designed to be asics proof, at the time asics wasn't an issue. d |

bitcoin's deflationary.
ask anyone how many bitcoins there are and the reply will be 21 million (very few know the exact mined todate at any given time);
now if you know anything about markets, anything already know to the market whether it has yet occurred or not, is already priced in (its one of the reasons so many noobs lose out in real world markets re not understanding this simple principle, and why insider trading is so profitable), so the market already bases bitcoin price around 21 million coins existing.
overtime the more people attracted to bitcoin the harder it is to get your hands on one of these 21 million, while fiat will be endlessly printed.

The problem with Litecoin is there are too many coins out there.
It is not worth more than $1 when you can choose many new altcoins with better features than Litecoin.
well ltc is better then btc and btc is 200 odd USD agree that ltc promotion needs a kick in the pants, but you don't have to leave it upto LA etc, any holder, miner, fan is free to promote problem with all crypto communites, every holders bitches about their crypto struggling but 99% expect someone else to do something about it. |

Some people are saying that altcoins have entered a bull market. If so, does that mean that we will start seeing 10 or 15 new coins launched every week like we did last year at this time? Any thoughts?
If this is the bull market I wonder what the bear market is like. Alt-coins will begin to launch 10-15 new shill bitcointalk members accounts per second. fixed the typos |

certainly not a bull market atm, even if there's a few green shoots occasionally its off so little volume it doesn't really count.
too many coins competing in the same market all doing the same thing, also to many investors being burnt holding bags of (almost dead) coins.
as with the above post; too many coins being pumped out just to give miners a coin too mine, then dump on the very few that think they can profit off if they get in early, but after a wave or to of dumping, goes no where, so then repeat.
you want to see active markets again?
as traders, thin the field and only trade older coins that still have active teams behind them.
