2062  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how should coin developers be remunerated? on: June 18, 2014, 01:30:16 PM
The community appears to have moved towards screaming scam every time they see the potential for a coin developer to make some money on a coin they created, released, and supported.

So as a community, what method of remuneration would you be happy with?

Its more there arent many actual developers in these coins  Shocked
2063  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Litecoin hold the #2 spot? Doubtful..and here are the coins who will benefit on: June 18, 2014, 01:24:54 PM
What makes litecoin so special?
Solid historical position being first altcoin of Bitcoin
This is super wrong. There are at least 5, if not 10, other altcoins created before Litecoin.

Yes there was a few alts before litecoin, mostly premined etc and other issues, which litecoin tried to improve on.

Equally though btc wasn't the first alt currency, cyber or cryptocurrency.

I was at Google for almost 6 years. I figured it was time to change it up. You're right, it's hard to beat a job at Google, but Coinbase is a great company and I get to work on Bitcoin (Litecoin?) full time. Smiley

Not trying to start an unfounded rumor or anything that would potentially cause LTC to rapidly spike, but am I the only one that can clearly see that by the way Coblee placed "litecoin" in parenthesis that he was actually saying "(Litecoin will be on Coinbase mid-late September?)

Anyone else see that?

~BCX~

Yes as a ltc bagholder I see that too  Grin btw wtf is coinbase  Huh
2065  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Next Gen Altcoin / Bitcoin 2.0 => [ANN] SwarmCoin IPO started TODAY on: June 18, 2014, 12:50:13 AM

2066  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which altcoin features can you not live without? on: June 18, 2014, 12:14:09 AM
The extreme price fluctuation feature, or lets face it 99% of forum members wouldn't be here  Wink

Kelsey, do you see LTC ever replacing BTC or just being second place forever? What advantages do you see with LTC?

Well some here might know but I'm helping a little ETF get through regulators, and the btc etf has a few hurdles convincing regulators mainly steaming from a few things I've mentioned which in the real investment world seems less say a tad on the dodgy side, eg anon creator, who happens to hold bags, silkroad issue and gox + other stolen (the thing just recieving stolen goods is illegal in many places).

yes ltc may not be so pure (too many here who could through similar mud at it), but to regulators it seems less dodgy.....ltc could be sold easier to wall street crowd (who as a seed funder and daytrader I am part off).

you have got it all wrong in just a few years Wall st is dead - if the paper they are using is worthless then their wealth is worthless also, (unless they are going to be bidding up and down stocks based on pieces of gold?)

if the USD ends up a local currency the only thing that matters is productive capacity.

so all the hype and bullshit will matter little at that time, and it will be little guy that worked or opened a small business or foreign capital in the form of online businesses, that will more decide these matters.

basically people are running around trying to find a dick to suck, but there are no/few dicks left, if the very shady precarious position takes a turn for the worse, it will only be foreign capital or productive capacity that will matter.

so to that end you probably should be telling us about how good the LTC team's Chinese language skills are or how many little coffee/book shops or online business accept it.

hi neighbourhood tin foil hat man welcome to the convo, credit where credits due; this is the first post I've ever read from you that's even remotely coherent...so well done on that Smiley

thanks i updated it - so have a re-read you might get something out of it  : )

I'll give you a little piece of sound logical advice, if wall street does die in a few years  Roll Eyes......hmm I think I'd be giving the gold, btc and ltc a miss and stocking up on things like rice, flour water  Wink

don;t forget the bug out vehicle! Sounds like the world is going to come crashing down soon. Better start canning tomorrow.

Sometimes i think some people have never left the states. Its a big world out there get out more.

I'm not from the states, spend most my time in Aus, China (which tin foil hat man seems to elude to having something against) and Europe.

That doesn't make sense to me at all. What am I supposed to say to someone who doesn't know about LTC?

You could start with it doesn't have an anon dev that still holds around almost 1 million.
Because everyone who holds large amounts of LTC is known?

Well those I know who have aren't the anon dev.

BTC....and offers no advantages over fiat.
REALLY?!

Name some?

More I research and the longer I follow this crypto market the more I realise ltc will be the only alt that survives, the more people spit out the crapcoins the more likely ltc will remain number two to bitcoin.

That doesn't make sense to me at all. What am I supposed to say to someone who doesn't know about LTC?
It's harder to get, can be used in less places, and offers no advantage over BTC but they've branded themselves as silver to bitcoins gold?!

What advantages does btc have over fiat? Its harder to get, used in alot lot lot less places and offers no advantages over fiat.

Actually Australia's the one place that's not the case, written into Australia law is the right for any citizens to use whatever currencies they so choose for trade.

Sure, but businesses are obliged to accept only AUD for their goods and services and pay taxes in them, effectively making all other currencies redundant. This gives AUD exclusive rights in that land. Same goes for all fiat currencies in their respective lands. For cryptos it's different, that's why you can't make an argument that because AUD feels fine in Australia and is not replaced by USD, Litecoin would not be replaced by something else either. Cryptos are all over internet, they are not restricted by land boundaries, they can freely cross borders, hence there is only #1 and losers.

what dribble even as stated before the coffee shop down the road accepts ltc. many places that accept btc accept ltc. easily can be a few crytos used successfully as currency, just not thousands created for the sake of making the devs and traders fiat.

by ur reckoning no crypto will take hold as a currency because of fiat use....so even btc would fail.

equally how do you explain mastercard and visa ?

That's because the Aussie government made it the only legal tender on the Aussie territories by power of law Smiley

lol number 1 what? v USD? I don't judge a cryptos worth on its price v USD. teller down the road from me, the coffeeshop down the road all accept ltc Smiley

#1 in cryptos (market cap, volume, adoption, whatever, everything). If you don't have ambition to be #1, you lose every time. If you have this ambition, you have a chance to win. Same principle anywhere.

can't see the AUD wanting to replace the USD and it does just fine Wink, nor do you see silver trying to replace gold, yet both have pretty decent value.

same principle anywhere my ass, same principle nowhere in currency or commodities.
