1981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin TANKING...opinions on future outlook both nearterm and long term? on: August 12, 2014, 01:44:51 AM
Litecoin is dropping because in reality it offers nothing new, less block time is its only "feature".. any alt coin outhere with another thing is better than litecoin and people realized that now.

lol not an alt since ltc has any new usable (in the real world) features. only features in the new coins are to sell the new coin to the gullible. ltc itself has advantages over btc for the general pop for use and investment purpose for one the creator isnt a mystery.
1982  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin TANKING...opinions on future outlook both nearterm and long term? on: August 12, 2014, 01:34:11 AM
I'm a ltc bagholder (my biggest holding), alts have flooded the market but sooner or later an alt crash will drive most to ltc as the reserve. As I don't trade fiat I'm personally indifferent to its price v USD, for me though hopefully most my other bags improve Vs ltc so I can increase my ltc holdings.
For the increase my fiat types I think ltc below $5 has greater profit potential then btc, though a sudden btc rise would lower ltc further, such a btc rally would sooner or later drag ltc up.

Same as the title.

agreed but a thread like this is just an open invitation for them to plug their crapcoins  Roll Eyes
1985  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alternative cryptocurrency is dead on: August 11, 2014, 03:16:20 AM
There are some legit non-scam coins like Litecoin, Dogecoin, and Black Coin, but ultimately even these legit alternative cryptos are going to fade into obscurity since there is no use for them.

funny thing is everytime someone yells most alts are scams but list their own choices as examples of non scams, they list coins many others would also consider scams eg
how is doge not a scamcoin? only people did well was dev, and some miners who dumped at a peak most investors lost on this one (and with the supply model it was always going to happen). In fact dogecoin has probably done more harm to alt currencies then all scamcoins put together.

Yes attracted many to cryptos but burnt most.....hmmmm much loss.
1986  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone else ignore coin threads that contain "PoW" ? on: August 08, 2014, 03:00:53 AM
I'd assume all but the get rich quick newbies (ie suckers) avoid 99.9% of the Ann threads.

1988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Holders: Will you continue to hold or convert to Bitcoin? on: August 02, 2014, 11:53:07 PM
LTC is my reserve currency in crypto (only time I ever hold BTC is as a trading medium to another crypto). Zero intention of cashing out whether it be BTC or fiat.

However imo for any who are, kinda not the best timing now ie btc/ltc ration at one of its lowest, though any btc rally would make it even worse for ltc (if history is an indicator). imo likely to see better btc/ltc ratios longterm then present.

I see significantly more the "zilch" on the horizon.

We will be doing a coin swap to a new blockchain, switching MMXIV to full Proof of Stake. It will have a 50% yearly yield (as voted on) with 1 day maturity. Get your MMXIV to Bittrex now to make sure you are ready for the swap

Sorry where was this voted on?

1992  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How we crypto-geeks get it wrong & the reality of altcoin success. on: July 31, 2014, 04:00:48 AM
Lets be honest, pretty much the entire alt community is comprised of 3 groups;

group A) mine anything that will get them more BTC (and thus fiat),

who sells to;

group B) the missed the BTC boat crowd.

group c) the 3 people making all these crap coins and coming up with innovative stories to suck both A) and B) in

1994  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FTC] Feathercoin Development Overview on: July 28, 2014, 02:29:56 PM
So think my question is, whats the point to feather coin?

99% of the coins out there are stuck in their ways. They have a niche and think that makes them special. Feathercoin takes the best idea's from these niche coins, and creates an open source solution which can be copied into any other coin.

In the coming months will have what's needed on github to implement ftc into http://projectskyhook.com/

Not that we don't all ready have an open source ATM for ftc that any other coin can copy, but more the better right?

We are one of the few coins who will continue to adapt and evolve. btc and ltc have found their place. They are somewhat set in stone and no longer have the true freedom to experiment with the blockchain technology..

tl:dr - So what is the point?

Feathercoin picks up from where Satoshi left off.

You really don't get out much then do you, because thats exactly what 99% of older school coins outside of btc/ltc are saying lol
I call it, at best, a last ditch panic to stay somehow relevant.
1995  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FTC] Feathercoin Development Overview on: July 28, 2014, 09:20:06 AM
Is it a good time to buy feathercoin with all these new developments happening?

Well, noone likes to give financial advice, because it's risky business. On the other hand, if you look current development on this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=704588.0 you can make your own conclusions. Once NeoScrypt kicks in, and ASIC miners stop dumping, I guess there should be some differences in price...

I highly doubt that any existing ASIC miners are mining FTC in any meaningful amount.

Feathercoin has lacked on development on all fronts since its inception. I personally see no value in FTC currently.

FTC always been perceived as a coin created simply for the missed the btc boat crowd. Tried to market itself as the something (I have no idea what) to LTC silver of BTC gold but yeah few ever bought that....

So think my question is, whats the point to feather coin?
1996  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: For all you ethereum haters; on: July 26, 2014, 02:21:25 PM
No point arguing.

Not anyone else business that what investors do with their money. Even for a ponzi scheme, there are winners.

but its NEVER the "investor"  Wink
1997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: For all you ethereum haters; on: July 26, 2014, 10:07:48 AM
this is something beyond my capacity of understanding ....

my guess is most things are too ethereum "investors".
1998  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PC] pirateCoin pos HUGE BTC GIVEAWAYS COINS on: July 26, 2014, 10:05:48 AM
sorry is the follow on facebook step a must?

kinda then not really a fair distro, as much of the world (outside the USA) doesn't use FB, and its even banned in a few major crypto countries.
1999  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: For all you ethereum haters; on: July 26, 2014, 09:49:22 AM
I find it bizarre that people would even consider it an investment let alone be stupid enough to give them bitcoin  Huh

Its great for them though a capital raising without giving out shares, just fake trading tokens that "investors" have to hope to find a even larger fool to flog them off too, to make any kind of return.
