Its obvious you missed the LTC/BTC boat.

You can't miss the LTC boat, it will be as cheap as five buck in a couple of months, the boat is coming right back to us, but it's a one-way trip this time I suspect if the devs don't show any ambition to strive for #1.

lol number 1 what? v USD? I don't judge a cryptos worth on its price v USD. teller down the road from me, the coffeeshop down the road all accept ltc Smiley
2082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Litecoin hold the #2 spot? Doubtful..and here are the coins who will benefit on: June 16, 2014, 07:11:31 AM
More I research and the longer I follow this crypto market the more I realise ltc will be the only alt that survives, the more people spit out the crapcoins the more likely ltc will remain number two to bitcoin.

Certainly no anon dev coin (outside of btc) will survive outside this niche community, and lets be honest 98% of coins created in the last year have been for something to mine to swap to btc/ltc or the we missed the btc/ltc boat coins, and that 2% legit well its lost fighting each other and lost amongst the 1001 shitcoins.

2083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is dead on: June 15, 2014, 07:35:58 AM
the more the crapcoins are pumped out, the more likely ltc will keep its place.

2085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CFC]Coffeecoin | Relaunch in 1 week on: June 13, 2014, 05:41:10 PM
However, people can at most proof that they did deposit some CFC to ShareX. It is more than unlikely they can show proof they didn't sell their ShareX holdings and then withdraw BTC afterward

Not that hard to track via the blockchain explorer, I'm confident I could track this.

Harder to prove any bought on the exchange but not appearing in ur online exchange wallet address.

In my case I'll be just claiming those I sent to the exchange for the swap (luckily for staking purpose most the times earlier I bought I'd sent back to my wallet), any bought on the exchange that I can't now prove I'll just write off as lost (none of which is in anyway coffeecoin's fault) along with the various other coins I lost in sharex including some btc Sad

Nope. I do daily trades on exchanges and I'm sure blockchain explorer cannot track this

The problem is that if people did sell their CFC holdings on ShareX, blockchain explorer still showed no change of their balance as long as the new buyer did not withdraw

No offense but it's how blockchain explorer works. Nothing can be tracked if no new transaction on the network

That means our dev can only know these coins are still on ShareX, but he cannot know who is the owner of the coins

Too long detailed and too tired to explain here, but I'll explain more to the dev, I can map out through a combination of the block explorer and my trades, to know the how what where of sharex's wallets, and I was going to suggest (others have already similar), the dev can hold the coins until after a period and no complaints to make sure less chance of people claiming who had sold.

also like this:

"As of right now, all that comes to mind is taking claims for ShareX deposits within the time range of ShareX V1/V2 swap participation confirmation, and the date ShareX went down. Anything before that would increase the likelihood of that claim including sold CFC."

somewhat narrows it down to the people who only sent in for the swap.

Dear DEV

what is "Corrected by Profitus. 6/6/2014 transactions are allegedly due to staking" means? do i'll get my coins back?

I withdrawals my coffeecoin on the last day Sharexcoin.com still alive! but next day Sharexcoin.com is gone. (withdrawals to bittrex.com but no rcvd.)

my info as below:

C43WCbuBXWAqEUxjF2gegKq5NdQWLxekbn   604,584.00000000   6/6/2014   eugenetsou   Corrected by Profitus. 6/6/2014 transactions are allegedly due to staking

i think the address should be BvkviTgHGvxfij836DThx5pBpe6QCzGxQJ

my bittrex.com address : C43WCbuBXWAqEUxjF2gegKq5NdQWLxekbn
my Sharexcoin.com address : BvkviTgHGvxfij836DThx5pBpe6QCzGxQJ

pls. check

Thank you !

The most recent transaction is at the bottom, rather than the top. You had the oldest transaction listed, rather than the newest, so I fixed it. Any transaction AFTER 6/2 are potentially threatening, because that is the date they supposedly "shut down". Judging from the nature of those transactions on 6/6, they appear to be created from wallet staking, so nothing to worry about. Other than that, they haven't moved.

As far as reimbursing ShareX losses, we'll cross that bridge when we get there. As of right now, we're merely tracking ShareX addresses to make sure they're not dumping users' coins on any other exchanges. Your help in identifying and tracking these addresses is greatly appreciated. When it comes time, I will handle the ShareX losses manually, provided each holder can show proof.

Hi dev,

First of all, I have to appreciate that our dev would like to reimburse ShareX losses to affected people

However, people can at most proof that they did deposit some CFC to ShareX. It is more than unlikely they can show proof they didn't sell their ShareX holdings and then withdraw BTC afterward

I think similar issue has already been discussed on Qora thread, coz Poloniex (Busoni) had seized 24M Qora from suspicious zip's accounts but he cannot find an effective way to distribute them back to those people affected. Therefore the money will likely go back to Qora foundation

This is really a sadly long story you can read here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=522102

This one's for you, Test.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=596562.msg7134619#msg7134619

There will be loss, no doubt. Unless ShareX comes back online, I can only reimburse those that can show proof of deposit via traceable addresses with a screenshot of their wallet showing the transaction details. The block explorer and the wallet screenshot must match up perfectly, including amount sent, taking transaction fees into account, timestamp, transaction ID, and sender and recipient addresses. In other words, the block explorer must report matching details, and the balance must still remain there.

I suppose the only way it would work effectively is if conducting a buy/sell transaction on an exchange causes the coins to change addresses, and not conducting a buy/sell transaction would keep them at the same address. I'll do a little research and report back.

I've attempted to set up a test scenario, but the coins I transferred from Bleutrade over to Bittrex have been stuck in the network for the past few days now *sigh*. Can anyone else confirm it?

I think a bigger issues been made out of it then really is, as I say (lots of explaining but) I'm confident I'd find most peoples accurately, only ones I couldn't confidently match (well at this time, more info from uses who did and I might be able to so) are ones that people bought on sharex without withdrawing.
2087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Litecoin hold the #2 spot? Doubtful..and here are the coins who will benefit on: June 13, 2014, 10:27:08 AM
I have gone back and read through this this thread and looked at which accounts have which opinion on Litecoin.

A very interesting pattern emerges:

Old Forum User Accounts: Generally think Litecoin is here to stay.

New Forum User Accounts: Generally think Litecoin is going to be dead by the end of the year and (insert coin) is going to replace it any moment.  None of them can agree on which coin is about to be the new #2 though.

This just shows us that new people who missed getting Litecoin cheap wish it were not number two, were not here for the launch, and do not understand how established LTC truly is, they only talk about features, and are frankly projecting their desire to be made rich by (insert coin) into a prejudice against Litecoin.

Anyone else care to speculate why new accounts think Litecoin will die and old accounts think it will live?

Their's the whole alt crowd who plug the whole innovation thing, yet all I see in these new coins in mostly innovation (and I use the term lightly) for the sake of innovation (ie just another theme to pump a coin on).

I am yet to see a single so called innovation or 2nd or 3rd or 300th generation coin that makes them anymore useable to joe public.

All the latest waves of anon's are full of shit just playing on newbies latest flavor of the month so they get pumped.

I swear I'll make a meme pos anon animal coin for my country that'll have everyone raving   Grin
2090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bittrex to take Mintpals place soon? on: June 13, 2014, 09:58:30 AM
Bittrex also delists coins...something mintpal and cryptsy dont even bother to do anymore.

also, buy CLOAK.

but the way they go about listing and delisting really supports pump n dump scam devs.

CLOAK is that another paid ann by you? paid off by another scamcoin, that you'll probably expose after you dump?
2091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Litecoin hold the #2 spot? Doubtful..and here are the coins who will benefit on: June 13, 2014, 07:52:38 AM
in fact most if u chat to them think of loading up if it falls further, I know I will. I don't know a single big holder who is worried about there ltc position.

That's fine, I'd lose the bet then, but I think I will not Smiley

Strange how its only the other alt coin bagholders and btc fanboi's who are so concerned about the fiat price of ltc  Roll Eyes
2092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Litecoin hold the #2 spot? Doubtful..and here are the coins who will benefit on: June 13, 2014, 07:29:05 AM
Number 2 in market cap and daily volume, free money right there. Find a trusted escrow we both agree on, we both send $100 of BTC for them to hold. In 6 months time, I come back here and smile Grin

I bet for market cap only not being #2, won't sign up for betting on daily volume, because the daily volume may still be substantial in Litecoin as mass exodus begins out of it.

You suggested this bet, you find the trusted escrow Smiley

lol to mass exodus. you do know most of the top holders are on this forum? don't know any of the top holders (and I know a few) who plan to sell down anytime soon, they held above $40 and didn't sell on retreat back to $10 so I don't see any mass exodus anytime soon.

in fact most if u chat to them think of loading up if it falls further, I know I will. I don't know a single big holder who is worried about their ltc position.
2093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thinking Litecoin is a good play right now. on: June 13, 2014, 12:04:45 AM
yes its my main choice of plays in crypto trading because 1) always volume 2) either side if you get suck you're still holding either btc or ltc, and either isn't a bad hold longterm.
2094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Litecoin hold the #2 spot? Doubtful..and here are the coins who will benefit on: June 12, 2014, 01:36:09 PM
They will be rich and they won't have legal repercussions because they haven't broke Chinese law.

dunno about that, I think u'll find such laws a tad more stronger in china and the penalties a tad harsher.
2095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Litecoin hold the #2 spot? Doubtful..and here are the coins who will benefit on: June 12, 2014, 01:28:20 PM
This thread is some bullshit. Litcoin is not going anywhere. In fact, I hope it stays in the $10-$15 range as it will be viewed as the blue collar currency.

Yes all cryptocurrencies are more useable as currency if they are stable, not all of us judge the success of a crypto based on its 'price' v USD.
2096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CFC]Coffeecoin | Relaunch in 1 week on: June 12, 2014, 01:16:42 PM
I think things that happen happen. We want to make our money a real good.
Not traceable (darkcoin) and reversable transactions.

We have to accept, that this has consequences. If I trust anyone with it, i risk, that its gone.
If i buy an ounce gold and store it at a trading location, and the owner can run away, because i don't know him personally, its gone.
I should have stored it in my flat instead.

Can you imagine the press, if bitcoin did similar things after the mt.gox desaster?
Many people would loose their trust in it, because they can change the system randomly.

Different story here though, people sent their coins to sharex to be swapped as instructed when new client arrives, sharex obviously is no longer participating in the swap they agreed to, so if people can prove they sent them to the exchange then they get the swap.

no ones run off with the coins, they are still at the address' sent for the coins to be swapped, so if you can prove u sent and they are still there, dev agrees to swap them.

no systems being changed randomly, original coin was unfixable so is being completely replaced.
2097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Conspiracy ? on: June 12, 2014, 09:49:22 AM
You should contact Google and inform them..

About 4,450,000 results for "Litecoin"

i guess it will be 250 results in a month or two ?

Oh and get a hold of the growing Scrypt Asic Manufacturers Selling Asics and let them know they are wasting their time..
and while your at it go and tell all the people spending gigantic amounts of cash BUYING the Asic miners they are all wasting their money..

hmm seems to be an awful lot of money changing hands for a dead coin lol

i wonder if one person with a name i recognize will say the usual crap ?
Seems to me we only get stranger / noob popping up with LTC is dead theories..
The experienced long time users in Crypto never seem to be the ones saying it Wink
hmm i wonder why ?
Conspiracy ?
hmmm.. maybe they are creating new dummy accounts to say that so they don't have to hear "I told you so" later ?

Liek omg i bought into Darkcoin BBQ111! so.. blah blah blha blaaaaah

and i say..

l

clutch them bags nubs ..lemme know how that works out for ya Wink

YES to summarise; money talks bullshit walks Wink

This is fascinating to me in that about half the people here think LTC is going to skyrocket and the other half are expecting a slow death.

there is absolutely no way it can skyrocket.

this guy is just some pathetic cheerleader, he's probably watching his LTC empire evaporate before his very eyes.  Perhaps he's some other sort of peripheral investor, eg. he invested in LTC mining hardware.  Personally I think it's rather funny.  There is nothing looking up for LTC.

I guess I dont mean him any offense, it's just really pathetic to read this.

LOL I just bookmarked this , bluemeanie1 will look like the biggest fool once I bump this thread in a few months from now after Litecoin is on Coinbase and the rewards halved.

If Coinbase starts processing Litecoin, that would be a huge bump for Litecoin and in the short term Coinbase would make more money.  But in the long term they would be supporting a fractured economy.  I am pretty sure Coinbase wouldn't add Litecoin.  It goes against their goal of building a solid, unified, and fundamentally strong bitcoin ecosystem.  The last thing Coinbase wants to see is Bitcoin compromised.

My guess is that they will add it when and only when it is a forgone conclusion that Litecoin is here to stay.  That simply isn't the case.  The price dropping and this thread is great proof of that.

Under the hood Litecoin has some tech that is better than Bitcoin, buuuuuut it simply just doesn't have the wide spread adoption.  It is adoption and community that makes bitcoin valuable, not its hash or 10 minute block times verses 2.5 minutes.

Also, the it is well known that all the Litecoin numbers out of China are totally faked.  They are straight up lying.  Charlie Lee has even openly admitted this.  So when you look at the charts and see great Litecoin volume and believe it and think that is an indicator of Litecoin's great success, you are sadly being scammed.  On top of that I am guessing the Litecoin bots in China make Willy and Marcus look like a joke.  Again, Charlie Lee has openly admitted it is a huge and openly known problem that China is scamming.

right now the number 1 way to buy Litecoin in the USA is to buy BTC on Coinbase and transfer it to btc-e and then buy Litecoin. Do you think Coinbase doesn't know this ? why should they let btc-e get all the fees when they could be getting them. LTC on Coinbase is coming and I'll bet on that.

and you think Bitcoin China numbers are the true ? fake volume coming out of China is nothing new.

Bitcoin's numbers in China are faked.  But here is the problem.  Almost all Litecoin is based in China and Bitcoin is based around the world.   But a huge part of Bitcoin is based out of USD, and a lot of that isn't faked.

Litecoin http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/v2/coins/show/ltc

Bitcion  http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/v2/coins/show/btc

Also, you are right that the easiest way to buy Litecoin is to first buy bitcoin on Coinbase.  So in effect, Coinbase is already making lots of money off of Litecon.  Every time somebody wants to buy Litecoin, they get 1% of that purchase via the buying of Litecoin.   If they sold Litecoin, directly yes they would make more money, but it would cut into their bitcoin sales a little.

Ultimately, it just isn't in Coinbase's interest to list Litecoin.

Firstly I think its rather pointless talking about what exchange data was manipulated the most for what, much of bitcoins rise vs USD was due to fudged data by exchanges......nature of the beast around here, but no one forces the market to buy.

I take it when you say "Almost all Litecoin is based in China and Bitcoin is based around the world." you're just talking public exchange trading? Because the largest holdings of ltc certainly are not in china nor btc in the USA, and not all trading is done on public exchanges.
