1541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] Darkcoin | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX on: March 23, 2015, 03:25:27 AM
Like no one cares that SATOSHI (whom I respect) mined a shit load of coins before anyone else did,

over the course of a year or so, using a moderately large cluster of equipment, after he had explained the entire concept of what he was trying to accomplish to thousands of people on the cryptography mailing list a month or so in advance and invited them to participate (and others were certainly mining otherwise he wouldn't need that cluster, just a laptop)

That's exactly the same as mining a million coins in a few hours after an ambush launch releasing buggy code in the middle of the night with no mention of any development goals until after the instamine was over.

Well its the same if you are a DRKtard. To everyone else it is not even remotely the same.

The scam that makes me money is the scam i like.

Pretty much exemplifies the rather disgusting pump-pump-pump-otherwise-shutup DRK culture. But you guys wouldn't be here messing with this scam coin otherwise, so that fits.

I do feel bad for a few people I can think of who have gotten caught up in what they feel is a legitimate project.

interesting point I myself consider every crypto from this forum todate to be instamined (in context of the broader community in which they hope to adopt it), one of the reasons nothing but the 'idea' will survive longterm.

I truly hope it works out for you guys.  Just a warning you need to get a DEV very soon.

Thanks, now GTFO

lestherat has a good point, like its pretty bad manners to bail on a coin then dog it as you leave.

if you hope it works out, then your posts are kinda not helping.

we'll be fine  Wink

IŽll hold and stake, is fun.
The work of iGotSpots is amazing, so bad the fucking noobies and haters force him to leave this coin, but thanks to him, you can send your coins over the network, thanks to him you can stake your coins, and Thanks to iGotSpots all of you haters can sell your coins and recover some btc.
Anyway lets see how it works, some people want to buy and some people want sell. Like always.

I'm migrating over to 10K. Love'd the work spots did with this mess. Now I'll see what happens with a coin he created.

This coin would have been awesome.  With no DEV and check point Server being shut down, coin will fork for sure. Get back some of your investment before its a total loss.

someone trying to pickup on the cheap.

happy myself to just stake this after picking up some more on the panic dumps. even if market price was to plummet its still staking good enough that I like my odds holding longerterm.
1544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC good investment? on: March 23, 2015, 01:08:07 AM
LTC is only here because bitcoin fanboy want it to be. If they wanted they would already 51% attack it.
Like they did with feathercoin/worldcoin and many more.

The true reason why Bitcoin is falling is, there're still to many thiefs and scammers in this community.

Why kill LTC? People who can do that actually are making money of cryptocurrencies. They will kill not only LTC, but their future profits as well. Otherwise it's true... too many scammers since 2014.

I don't think anyone is going to deliberately kill LTC, it is just kind of fading away.

LTC won't fad anytime soon unlike 99% of the alts it has a purpose (whether or not its the makers original purpose is beside the point). In fact the more alts pumped out the least likely one will overtake it.

LTC can also stay a tad under the radar while its big brother cops it should anyone have any malice intent.
1545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC good investment? on: March 22, 2015, 10:22:55 AM
You are forgetting that LTC will halve in about 3 months and a lot more ASICs will be involved in the mining process. Thus will make LTC more rare as it is now. I can't say it is the best investment out there, but you surely can't lose much at those prices so I think it isn't a bad move to invest some money in it.

You can lose 100% of your investment. And no I'm not a "hater" of LTC, I entirely don't care about it, just giving my opinion.

but a biased btc , monero fanboi you is?

Not really, I hold several different coins besides those.

i'm guessin dakrcoin and the like....or whatever innovation is the current flavor of the day (not on the attack btw but may come across like that in text).

Losing money on a coin is always on the table. That's why I said that many people lost their faith in crypto. It's not about hating - it's about the situation in which cryptomarket currently is. I still believe that investing in LTC is not a bad idea at all. Personally I am trying to accumulate as much as I can. I even made a bold prediction about Bitcoin - $450 by the end of April. Grin This can move the price of LTC somewhere between $2,50 - $3,00, but of course that's just a hunch...

people here may laugh but seeing a few things behind the scene (etf etc) i see bitcoin at $4k by the end of the year and ltc at $200......possibly a few lame alts dragged along if fiat profits your thing.

longterm i see no current crypto surviving as a currency in any meaningful fashion.

ltc will do just fine as it has as currency especially for the mainstream one huge advantage over even bitcoin, that most closet tech crowd who push the innovation/technology line don't see to get......
1548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC good investment? on: March 22, 2015, 10:06:27 AM
in this alt coin section you're always going to get litecoin haters (as people here want what alt they're bagholding to succeed) so little hope of any unbiased opinions.

1549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC good investment? on: March 22, 2015, 01:30:30 AM
I feel that the fickle consumer will ultimately determine which altcoins succeed.

Based on Litecoin's recent abandonment of development and its goofy name, I think it will eventually go the way of the web crawler.

Litecoin has not abandoned development, stop spreading FUD microguy and get back to your own centralised vapourware goldcoin.

I was thinking Charlie Lee had said on Twitter that Litecoin development had stopped. https://twitter.com/litecamel/status/544807537116479488

Quote
LTC does not need development right now. Adding gimmicks does not help a currency succeed. Liquidity, merchants, and user does.

In regards to Goldcoin, we're in the final stages before releasing the long-awaited client. How is GLD centralized?

Litecoin's not adding the latest gimmicks (like all the latest pump n dump scamcoins) but its still under constant development like its always been.

Goldcoin has one dev completely controlling the client, maintaining the chain. and you microguy censor anything you don't like within your community and even self mod threads here.

kelsey, I play trivia and have watched as Nikkers and Binmon kick ass in there. They are fast but to accuse them of cheating on it is ridiculous. Did you ever consider the fact that someone may be smarter, more educated, or just in general faster than you? Oh, and some of the questions are repeats so if you are there long enough you could remember some, if not a majority, of the answers. This is ridiculous to come here and whine about this. NOBODY GIVES A SHIT!

Many people where better then me all day in the trivia like I was barely coming top 10 not a single compliant by me about any of them, even at the cheats when they confessed, (until I said my piece in chat about Nikkers), and again my post in here mentioned nothing of Nikkers but was because several others confessed to cheating.

as for nobody gives a shit, seeing how 20% of the coins to be giving away by trivia quiz, I'm sure a few long suffering holders probably do give a shit about people cheating to get theirs.
1552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ECASH Coin Swap Revival | 20% of supply being GIVEN AWAY through Trivia on: March 21, 2015, 09:33:32 PM
before lashing out at me several people confessed to cheating on the trivia in the trivia hence my post.
1553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ECASH Coin Swap Revival | 20% of supply being GIVEN AWAY through Trivia on: March 21, 2015, 02:28:22 PM
unfortunately there's been a few cheaters in the trivia, having a cheat sheet website for all the answers, so basically stealing those giveaway coins  Sad
1554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Winklevoss Twins Is At It Again on: March 21, 2015, 01:18:59 AM
Im tired of this twins, they talk much but didn't do much actually.
Anyways, more news its probably good thing for bitcoin itself :|

despite not being a fan, they'll do alot in bringing btc to wallstreet investor types, just the wheel turns slow with red tap etc hardly their fault though, and much of the btc make a quick buck community is impatient.
1555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Winklevoss Twins Is At It Again on: March 21, 2015, 12:35:57 AM
For me, its really hard to believe that bitcoin could replace cash, not because bitcoin cannot do it, but because bitcoin now is having a hard time breaking into the mainstream.

I find it impossible to believe bitcoin would ever replace cash, yes some form of electric money will, but bitcoin, well even most this forums users don't actually use bitcoin.

Lets be honest most bitcoiners are in it to make more cash.

1557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DBL] Doubloons: Pirate Currency on: March 20, 2015, 02:33:06 AM
Old settings was 5s share time - very unfriendly for ASICs. Now it is 20s.

isn't it better being unfriendly for asics?
1558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DBL] Doubloons: Pirate Currency on: March 20, 2015, 02:28:50 AM

well there was premine.....pirates !, but I guess being pirates they squandered that on rum years ago, but they do keep to the code  Wink

Just to make sure, I've been stung a few times by crooked coins, is there any substantial crookedness in Doubloons history?

The announcement was May 15 xx:23 pm.
The first block seems to have had 6.77 dbl and was mined May 15 at xx:09 pm.
About 30 blocks were mined, 200 dbl or so, then a couple minute gap when I guess Shakezula posted?
So there seems to be
1) no premine, just some blocks mined to get it started at launch
2) no special rewards for early miners, an even payout through today, extremely unusual in early coins.

I'm going to make a page on the site detailing any negatives I can find about doubloons, since that is the first thing a person should look for. So far all of the negatives are trivial and boil down to slackiness. Unupdated wallets, etc. Is there some major negative aside from that?

my post was half in jest, dbl was/is an honest coin, with no funny business surrounding it, was done more for fun, but yeah honest enough if people get behind it to be a great crypto.

i like it but its always been difficult to obtain a decent amount, small block rewards and I guess pirates are often hoarders Wink
1559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DBL] Doubloons: Pirate Currency on: March 19, 2015, 02:50:41 PM
Wait.

An ultra ethical coin created in mid 2013.
Less than 5,000,000 exist.
Market cap ~$5,000.

omfg

This coin is undervalued.

And there are almost none for sale.
